Food is good but the service is super slow. Only 8 people in the restaurant and still can't get seated and waited 30 min before we just left. We even tried to sit at the bar since no one was at the bar and still had to wait. I usually don't make reviews but the service has been bad the last 5 times. We usually get seated with the same girl and she is always on her phone and talking in the back. Only reason we know this is because there is a mirror that shows the inside of the kitchen from the seating area. She also never refills drinks. We go about 1/week or so. I love TexMex sometimes, but they have authentic dishes also. Great service, plenty of food and Mexican beer selections. They sell dried peppers and spices, cheeses and everything to try cooking at home. I've tried to mimic their food, but they cook way better than me. Run very professionally and they never disappoint us. There is really no competition for them in WeMo, maybe not anywhere. it's that good. I visited today to specifically try Taqueria Mexico's Poblano Relleno. My favorite place I used to visit in Florida to get this dish closed, and I have been searching for a worthy replacement for 11 years. Today I found it. This dish was beautifully presented, was delicious, and made correctly. I almost cried when it was placed in front of me. Sweet tea was brewed and delicious. Service was excellent and even at 2 pm the front lot was full. The space shares with a neat as a pin grocery store and the bar looks inviting! I will return! read more

If you look young don't go here some lady with short blond hair denied me a margarita and said my ID was fake. I've literally gotten margaritas here multiple times before but she had an attitude for no apparent reason. I'll take my business elsewhere. You shouldn't be treating customers like this when you work at a small restaurant. read more

This place looks questionable from the outside but it always has a full parking lot so I decided to give it a try, and I am so glad I did! The inside is festive and bright, I was seated immediately and brought fresh chips and delicious salsa. Ordered three different tacos which were served "street" style with cilantro and onions. Everything was absolutely delicious. Service was excellent. I will definitely be back. Stumbled across Taqueria Mexico while searching for tacos. Food was fresh and seasoned well. I loved the Al Pastor tacos I ordered. Service was quick and our waitress was friendly. The location is small, and there is parking available in the front of the building. There is a small grocery section inside which was cool to see. Tacqueria Mexico has an ample sized parking lot in the back and a few spots in the front. For a Saturday dinner, we were seated quickly. I ordered 3 tacos which were very good and a nice portion of meat. I really liked them with the carne asada being my favorite. A nondescript restaurant tucked away on Airport that was amazing. The Chile Relleno was the best I've had East of Houston, flavorful, full of cheese and meat and covered with a soft coat of batter fried to perfection. Visited here on Cinco de Mayo and had about a 20 minute wait for a table of 4. I expected it to be much longer, so that was a pleasant surprise. Chips and salsa were great, as was the guac and cheese dip. I had shrimp tacos, which I will not order again. They weren't bad, they were just the basic kind with lettuce, tomato and cheese toppings. I will try the quesadilla next time, because my friend got it and it looked so good. But the real deal is the margaritas. I got a pitcher of the strawberry margaritas and that is where it's at!! 5 stars for the margs, hands down. My friend got the watermelon margaritas and they were great too. (We shared.) My wife and I were there for lunch yesterday, the host said they don't have the table yet, we will have to wait about ten minutes, so we wait, and there are people finished lunch walking out and there were empty tables. At that time, two Hispanic guys walk in, the host took them right to the table, while we are still seating there waiting. The service has it's ups and downs. The food is generally better than average for Mexican in Mobile. My main complaint is that their corn tortillas are mediocre at best, they are kept way too long and are flaking and falling apart. I go mainly for their assortment of taco fillings that aren't found at most places in town. read more

My husband said his campechano tacos were the best tacos he's ever had in his life. I had the shrimp chimichanga with was fried perfectly and contained a generous portion of shrimp inside. Everyone in my party had large portions and left full. We didn't order queso with our chips as we typically would at a Mexican restaurant so I can't speak to that, but my husband felt the salsa that came with the chips was kind of bland. The food came out hot and the beer was cold, so overall a good experience. The rice, beans, and other sides were just kind par for the course for a Mexican restaurant. Especially when we visited my grandparents in Brownsville Tx, my abuela always fixed the most flavorful cachete tacos EVER. When we first moved here in 2017, from Houston, (where there are Mexican rr and trucks Everywhere) I was finding a hard time finding a really good authentic Mexican rr. This is my favorite Mexican RR in Mobile!!! (I tried MAMA taco before this place and I was REALLY disappointed in that bland place) It wasn't until we moved to midtown, that I came across this gem!!! The tacos.... O.m.g. I have had every single one of them. And they are always ON POINT. My favorites, that I highly recommend, are the cachete, barbacoa, and lengua. Fully dressed, corn only. The hot sauces that come with are SPICCCYYY, yet so full of flavor. My husband always orders the Cali burrito and it's HUGE and jam packed full of goodness. We have ordered the tamales and I can most definitely say, I've had WAY better, they had no meat in them!! Has been my only disappointment from this place. Don't get me started on the salsa that comes with the chips, I could live off of that stuff! When we ate in, The staff was always friendly. It was never fully packed, so we never had any issues with slowness. The chips always came out hot, the drinks were always filled up. We order take out from here more than dine in. They have never gotten an order incorrect, and food is always ready about 25 minutes after we call in our order. So all in all, do I recommend this place?? Oh, HECK YEAH. Previously loyal customer but no longer impressed. The last several times I've gone in to pick up a to go order, I have waited 25-35 minutes beyond quoted time. Today, my order sat at the counter for over 15 minutes and no one told me. After it had been awhile, I asked if they could check on the status of my order and I was told they would "check on it" all the while, it sat there. After another 5 minutes had passed, someone finally goes "here you go" and hands me the bag that had been sitting behind the counter the entire time. There was no apology for the confusion or wait. Keep in mind, this was a one item order. No sides, no drink, nothing complicated. Needless to say, the food was barely lukewarm. The only reason I am giving two stars instead of one is the service is somewhat decent if you eat inside. You pay before you get your to go orders and I always tip well assuming service will be good but this is 4 times in a row now service was poor and food was cold. I want to support small business but you also need to provide better service, especially when I counted 6 people in and around the cash register. read more
