Gotta watch these people closely. Check what they charge you against what the menu says. They charged me $15.99 for a sandwich that was $12.99 on the menu. That's only a $3 overcharge - but I ended up paying $30 plus tip, for a sandwich, cheese dip and a tea. (The ticket says 2 people-but wifey just had some chips. We BOTH usually eat for just a few bucks more.) The sandwich was dry with no flavor. I thought it would be similar to a torta de asada. It wasn't. The cheese dip was good. We'll go somewhere else from now on. There are too many other places I can get good cheese dip - without being overcharged.

So much fun to get out for dinner after being in the house during the snowstorm. My husband and I enjoyed dinner tonight with his favorite fajitas and I enjoyed the Ala carte chimichanga. Delicious meal was made complete by a yummy frozen strawberry daiquiri.

Excellent food I was blown away at the quality and amount of food served. I highly recommend this is authentic Mexican food with incredible service. The Shrimp cocktail I had was one of the best I ever had!!

Stopped by shortly before they closed for a quick bite to eat and a drink and I was not disappointed. The waiter, Carlos, was very hospitable., friendly and engaging. The place was practically empty and the bar looked closed but he still made us drinks and let us order food. I had the blue margarita and my friend had a "top shelf" margarita. I would have given 5 stars but they played us with saying Jose Cuervo is top shelf...it is NOT. Anyway, I ordered chicken taquito and shrimp tacos. Shrimp tacos are hit or miss but they were well flavored and perfectly cooked. I've been on a taquito kick lately and theirs did not disappoint. I'm from California but if I visit again, I'd definitely go back!

We had a birthday party on the covered patio. The service was good even though the restaurant was packed. Carlos, our waiter was very attentive to getting our orders correct and entertaining us while he did with singing. We danced, had great food and of course some margaritas!! A great time was had by all of us!! Thank you El Rancho for a wonderful time!!

El Rancho Mexican Restaurant is a great option if you are in Daphne, Alabama and are craving Mexican food. If you are also traveling along Interstate 10 and feel the same kind of craving oh, this location is not far off of the highway. I was staying in a nearby Hotel and could not decide on what to grab for dinner and ended up choosing this place. Service was relatively good, though they could have came over and got us refills a little bit quicker than they did. Otherwise, there was no real issues. I ended up going with the Burrito Loco and it was a good choice. The Burrito Loco was well filled with me, I ordered the carne asada with it, and was pretty well prepared. It came with sour cream and guacamole on some shredded lettuce. The guacamole was not bad, in fact it was pretty good. It was pretty crowded for a Tuesday night and I heard them singing Happy Birthday at least twice, so people like to come here for celebrations. All in all, it was a positive experience. Everything from the salsa and chips to the main course accompanied by good service made this a positive experience.

Love this place. They never disappoint! They have recently remodeled and the place looks so good. The best street tacos around.

    Cheese dip with chips

We have been here before, but they have upgraded the interior with more televisions and lots of pretty lights. The staff is still amazing. "Omar" always does a great job for us! The food was amazing like always served hot and on time with no complaints. We also got an appetizer and it come in plenty of time before our meal that we may enjoy it. I recommend El Rancho when you want Mexican food. I haven't found a better Mexican restaurant in the south , and we have tried plenty of them!

From that point on, it was a staring contest with the cook standing at the kitchen opening staring at us, making comments about the glass and I guess making sure my 21 year old daughter didn't drink the beer, lol. The cook then stood at the kitchen door with her phone to video us for some reason, VERY UNPROFESSIONAL The food was less than spectacular, and definitely won't eat there again. Upon arriving we noticed the big parking lot, good location, and when we walked in we were greeted immediately. Inside was nicely decorated, dimly lit, and clean. We promptly got sat on a Sunday afternoon, and quickly got served water, got our drink orders, and food orders put in. The brunch menu is from 12-3, with mimosas and bloody Maria's. The bloody was really nice - could tell it had tequila! Old fashion was nice not overly Smokey. Onto the food, the tamales were some of the best I've had. They were HUGE. They came with birria, great consume, flavorful poblano rice, delicious poblano and corn cream (something of that nature) was so creamy and was GREAT. I couldn't believe how hot and fresh everything was. It was some of the best Mexican I've had. My husband enjoyed his chicken as well - it was tender and juicy, good char on the pineapple too. The portions were huge and we didn't eat it all. Good thing we didn't, the chef gave us complimentary dessert (ice cream because we're gluten free)! It was our first time and we'd love to go back. Everything looked and sounded great. Good margarita options, the flight was ordered by the table next to us! The overall cost for us two, although not the worst, but definitely not a cheap brunch was $110 with tip. Hot sauce was $2.50 on the side. A nice treat with friendly staff and good food, but not if you're looking to save some money.

Other subsequent customers had to wait as well. The place is very dark inside with the theme of a jungle of plastic plants hanging overhead. There appeared to be a few real plants, but it was too dark to confirm that. The food is tasty, but overpriced for what you get. We had the feeling the money is being spent on the decor or the lease on the building rather than the food. The potential is there for a better deal without the hype. It's a "been there done that " place for me.

A party of 30-35 people all still in full wedding attire flooded in around the same time, and the staff handled everything with incredible grace and expertise. Not a single order was messed up, and every guest was taken care of beautifully. The team that night Noel, Bella, Natalie, Sadie, and Brigs was outstanding. They truly felt like a local extension of our family. Beyond serving delicious tacos and making sure everyone was happy, they went above and beyond: signing our wedding cards with the sweetest, most thoughtful notes, and even snapping photos of the wedding party to capture those special moments. We started with the Boudreaux's egg rolls, they were awesome great texture crispy outside and soft avacado inside with a lot of flavor and great dipping sauce. Next I had the shrimp creole, with a substitute of side for gumbo. Both were very tasty and prepared perfectly, she had the black and bleu salad, the steak was very tasty and bleu cheese, well its bleu cheese and good bleu cheese. Last, we ordered an order of beignet's they were pretty good, a little on the heavy / dense side. The place was a little on the quiet side tonight despite the dining area being pretty full. One thing worth noting, we have noticed on our last two visits here the servers not clearing plates from the table when a persons is obviously finished eating either by the plate being pushed to the side or the universal silverware placement indicating, I am done eating. This time I had to ask her to clear the table before she brought anything else to the table. She was happy to do it, so maybe this timely removal of plates is not obvious, nor has it been explained/ taught by anyone. Service is important, this falls under the basics, if you are headed to the kitchen, do not go empty handed. Just a thought to improve the level of service. We will return.
