We sat at a table and after waiting 15 minutes we weren't greeted or our order taken even though the bartender saw us walking through the door. We heard about this little dive bar and stopped in to get the AUCE royal reds, but it was too early. They serve Sat and Sun 2-7. The bartenders were very nice and beers cold. We'll be going back before we head home in April! read more

This place is definitely a must try. They had a all you can eat crawfish boil. The manager stated that they will start having these on a weekly basis. 20$ all you can eat crawfish with all the fixins. Best crawfish I ever had state to state by far. We went to the Undertow on Sunday based on the Mullet Wrapper ad that advertised the "all you can eat Royal Reds." Honestly we were kind of wondering how it would go. We arrived and the Bartender came over almost as soon as we sat down and explained the details of the layout and what was available and to take our order. We gave our drink order, and asked for a few minutes to survey the layout and menu possibilities. When the Bartender returned within short time we had noticed the long line at the buffet for the Royal Reds, sausage, red potatoes and corn. We decided to give the buffet a shot. The line disappeared pretty fast and so did the large amounts of Royal Reds that were already available and there was very limited Royal Reds left for our 1st run through the line. It was a little odd and worrisome at first, but within about 15 minutes the young man setting up the buffet was back in action and refilling the Royal Reds container at the buffet line and all was good again. Food, service, atmosphere was laid-back and great. Old-School type of Lounge and friendly Patrons and Employees to make you feel like you had been there multiple times. Very reasonably priced amongst the loaded-trails of high-dollar Tourist stops all throughout the Bay & Beach areas. We will definitely visit again.. read more

Cool bar but absolutely no tourists! They treated us shitty and we couldn't catch an uber. It was a 10 minute drive but 2.5 hour walk and they refused to take us no matter what we paid them. Yelp check in wouldn't work here and said I was 8 miles away for some reason and Google Maps also gets the address location completely wrong so I'm not sure what's going on with that. This is a dive bar located in a small strip mall not too far from The Wharf. Every Saturday and Sunday they have an all you can eat Royal Red shrimp boil (and add crawfish when its in season) served with potatoes, corn and sausage all for just $10 so that's a really awesome deal. The drink prices are affordable so you avoid the tourist rip off pricing of most of the places nearer to the beaches. What isn't so awesome is this is a smoking venue and they also have a vaping store located inside the bar at a counter. The customers seemed to be mostly older local folks who were friendly and having a good time. Overall I really enjoyed the interesting people, beer prices and shrimp boil while the smoking made it less pleasant. read more

They have AYCE royal red shrimp for $10.00 WOW!! It's been happening for years on Saturday and Sundays both on and off season. Here's the deal, you not only get one of my all-time favorite Royal Red shrimp but it includes AYCE boiled new potatoes, sausage and corn with drawn butter. If that werenn't crazy enough you get crawfish too, seriously!! Now this place is divey, for sure because it's primarily a bar with some pool tables but they set up some king tables out back and they cook up all this food in bulk and you serve yourself. It's not where near fancy, it's actually exactly like a block picnic where everybody knows everybody else and you just make yourself at home and everyone for themselves. I may not be making this sound appetizing but, like I said, I love Royal Reds and while my wife isn't a huge fan of this rustic weekend culinary safari I can tell you that my Son and I really dig the whole adventure and of you might expect we eat too much. They start serving just after lunch and it keeps on coming until all the food is gone. I recommend coming earlier because everything is uber fresh and while being there at the beginning will require waiting in line it's best to hit it about :30+ minutes or more into the eating frenzy. Now I am really not doing it justice, hey it's not fine dining, like I said, but it's not quite feeding time at the farm either:-) Another big plus is the beer is pretty cheap and it's really nice and cold so that's always good. Bottom line there is no service, it's not all warm and fuzzy but the beer is cold and the shrimp is hot so nice you know. FYI this is also home to Orange Beach vape shop, it takes up a about a quarter of the indoor space. That is good for me because I am like Dartth Vaper ever since I gave up cigarettes in 2017 and these guys at OB Vape really know their stuff. read more

I'm not sure where to start! I preface this review by saying I wasn't feeling 100%. But there we were walk in greeted pretty quickly and told to sit anywhere, drinks ordered... for our food order the waitress sat with us (pulled up a chair to the table... pulled my husbands beard and proceeded to say "I just gotta do it once"! My husband gets AYCE shrimp (It's help yourself) shrimp were goodish but for the price the only thing we are hoping is there no food poisoning in the near future. I ordered the appetizer sampler for my meal... it took over 40 minutes. I get if it's busy and even then I'm questioning where it's at. Let's go to bill/check time I go ask for the check she comes back and tells us our total is 31$ tells us doesn't give us a check! At this point I'm ready to go so we give her the card and she brings our check back to sign. Hoovers the entire time. Mind you she hasn't been involved the majority of the time. I'm positive I'm missing something. But you get the gist! Also the place stunk of cigarettes, rips in all of the chairs I'm sure they got tables and chairs from Golden Corral 25 years ago. read more

My husband and I love dive bars and this on is at the top of our list. They have delicious food and specifically the seafood. The staff is super friendly and they always get your order right. I'm sure some of us stuck out like a sore thumb----Granted we busted up in there with our shirts proudly with the logo of our own karaoke bar that happens to be miles away.... like-----a whole two states away. Dive bars are our thing... we run one. We also try to make people feel welcome. Dive bars are----smoking. Some reviews are crying about it being smoking. Well. So sorry for that.... but again: DIVE BAR. Cheap drinks, too. I mean---cheap drinks! The karaoke DJ is awesome as well! Went today and had the endless buffet. All you can eat Big Red Shrimp, Crawfish, Potatos, Corn on the Cob and Sausage. I had that and two beers from tap and my cost was only $14. Food was fantastic.
