beautiful outside view and inside a beautiful restaurant . megan was our server and did a fantastic job. as typical we sat at the bar. megan made us the most fabulous drinks and promptly brought out our delicious meal. he had the paddy melt and i had the chef special. both were very tasty! we also had the opportunity to meet the owner mike. he is very motivated to make this a must not miss location! i can only imagine how happening this place will be in season!

    Mahi-mahi?

Garlic parm oysters! Or, as I call them, ghost oysters. They were so tiny and overcooked, I thought they accidentally brought us an empty tray of shells. However, the mahi-mahi portion was fit for a king...if that king was an Oompa Loompa...and had bypass surgery. It also had a suspiciously metallic tang--like licking a battery. Same for the shrimp. "Shocking" right? The grilled grouper rounded out the meal like a salt lick served on a flip-flop. Chewy, salty, and sad. To her credit, Marilyn the owner did try to argue with us at first. But then--bless her heart--she seemed to realize the situation was beyond salvaging and comped most of the meal. A kind gesture, considering the original bill was set to be $350... for six people drinking tea. Marilyn was genuinely sweet. But sadly, that's the only thing about this experience that was. #GordonRamseySaveThisPlace Pro tip: maybe put the lunch menu on the back so no one gets their hopes crushed.

The oysters were perfect! We visited Orange Beach for Spring Break so it wasn't crowded at all. The food came really fast. Defintely recommend if you are visiting Orange Beach and would like fresh seafood Pelican Grill is your spot. They also have a daily catch where you can catch your own fish to be prepared!

My advice, find a seat, have someone order at the order window, then head to the bar to order drinks. The wait to order food took about a half hour. It was very quick to get our drinks. We were able to snag a couch area on a platform. It was so comfy and we loved the views. A heads up- if you snag a couch like this, kids will get up on the platform and jump off of it. People will step up on the platform and walk extremely close to you. I had to ask a kid to stop throwing sand by us because we were eating our dinner. It was a little chaotic. We were extremely patient and understand, but I could see some people being very upset and annoyed. After ordering, our food came out pretty quick. I started with the coconut grouper bites and they were phenomenal. Light breading, lightly sweat, and flaky. I had the Gulf Grilled Cobia and it was phenomenal. The fish was tender, flaky, and light. No fishiness at all. The sauce on the fish was also delightful. My husband and son had the fajita skewers and both enjoyed them. My husband also had the peel and eat shrimp and said they were amazing at The Gulf. Our drinks were okay. We had better drinks at other places during the week, but they weren't bad. We would return, but try to come on an off-time that wasn't so busy.

Views right by the ocean, an open themed bar, palm trees, and music. It's not a quiet date night spot; more like a nice waterfront spot to take your friends and/or kids. The food was ok. I had the Cobia BLT & fries. The fries were good but the blt was tough. The bread was also a bit stale. The coconut fish bite appetizers were a 10/10. Delicious. Wifey had the mahi mahi tacos which she thought were just ok as well -- again tough. She did not however enjoy the cauliflower bites. I personally enjoyed them. We had mixed feelings about it. Great ambience, ok food. May come back.

We were served an exceptional meal, at the servers (Josh) recommendation I enjoyed the swordfish served with a creamy grits and asparagus side, and my husband had scallops with a maple glaze. The Charmant Chardonnay I had was served at the perfect temperature and paired well with the swordfish. This place is a must stop when visiting the orange beach area.
