3 filets and a seafood platter
    Mike O.

The food was great, the service was excellent and ambiance was great as well. Took my granddaughters for the youngest birthday and had a great meal. They all got filets which were cooked to perfection and my seafood platter was excellent! We will definitely be back !

Restaurant was nice and decor was more old school with wood paneling. Dining is upstairs, but they have a lift if needed. Got bushwackers and pina coladas which were pretty tasty and a nice frozen treat after being in the heat. Wait staff was fairly attentive and friendly. Food was okay, but not overwhelming good with smaller portions for the price compared to the area. Husband didn't care for the fried oysters-felt they were overly breaded. The crab cakes were fairly tasty, but the brown roumalade sauce was a little too mustardy for me (I also prefer the pink roumalade).

Food, service, and ambiance were superb! Hadn't planned in advance, just went when hunger pain struck... Happened upon Earky Bird Specials bc we arrived at 4pm... 3-course meal (appetizer, entree, and desert) for $29.95.... For appetizer I selected fried green tomatoes.... They were so good, I will be ordering them again in the future...For my entree, I selected the snow crab legs and beef tips... I thought I can't go wrong with crab legs because I've never had bad ones....I was taking a risk ordering the beef tips... I'm really picky about steak... To my surprise, the steak was perfectly cooked and flavored very well... The crab legs and beef tips were served with smashed potatoes, as a side... Smashed potatoes are mashed potatoes, fried into little cakes... A condiment container with sour cream and chives were optional for those... All that was filling, but still had my desert to go... OMG, i made the right decision with it.... The bread pudding w Bourbon sauce was Scrumdiddlyumptious...I also can't forget to mention the Bushwhacker I had w an added Carmel floater... What a delight, to wet my whistle... My husband got one of the house specials off the early bird menu, stuffed chicken....He also had fried shrimp.... He was very pleased with both, to include his brownie for desert.- Service couldn't have been any better... One set of crab legs lacked meat, and the mngr was happy to replace it with a much bigger and meatier set... Our waitress was on point, adding to our wonderful dining experience. We had one of the best, if not the best seats in the restaurant... We were able to look out the window and have a good view, while we ate our food....Cotton's is open 4- 10, so we had plenty of daylight to enjoy the scenery. We will be back again, sooner than later... I rarely give 5 star ratings, but this place earned it!

Fried Green Tomatoes at the bar.

The Fried Green Tomatoes were pretty good. The horseradish sauce with blue cheese crumble was delicious! Husband had the "SPECIAL" Broiled Halibut with Grits . He loved it! ! We sat at the bar to eat. Our server/bartender was very nice and attentive. We went on a Tuesday on Thanksgiving week, not alot of people. The ladies bathroom was clean. There are alot of stairs to walk up, but I think they have an elevator for those that cannot take the stairs. Will definitely go back next time we visit!

Blackened Grouper w/creole cream sauce, rice pilaf and veggies.

Enjoyed Cotton's very much! We got the stuffed mushrooms and crab queso for appetizers. Both were delicious. Everyone in our party got the Special which was Blackened grouper with creole cream sauce, rice and veggies. It was so good! Service was friendly and food came out fast. We did not have a wait on a Wednesday around 6:30pm. The only thing I would have preferred is if they let us substitute the special's sides. Other than that everything was fantastic!

    Is this place super expensive?

I wouldn't say super but definitely on the mod to higher end. Tho I say it's expected for the location.

My advice, find a seat, have someone order at the order window, then head to the bar to order drinks. The wait to order food took about a half hour. It was very quick to get our drinks. We were able to snag a couch area on a platform. It was so comfy and we loved the views. A heads up- if you snag a couch like this, kids will get up on the platform and jump off of it. People will step up on the platform and walk extremely close to you. I had to ask a kid to stop throwing sand by us because we were eating our dinner. It was a little chaotic. We were extremely patient and understand, but I could see some people being very upset and annoyed. After ordering, our food came out pretty quick. I started with the coconut grouper bites and they were phenomenal. Light breading, lightly sweat, and flaky. I had the Gulf Grilled Cobia and it was phenomenal. The fish was tender, flaky, and light. No fishiness at all. The sauce on the fish was also delightful. My husband and son had the fajita skewers and both enjoyed them. My husband also had the peel and eat shrimp and said they were amazing at The Gulf. Our drinks were okay. We had better drinks at other places during the week, but they weren't bad. We would return, but try to come on an off-time that wasn't so busy.

Our meals came with fries and the fries tasted like they were cooked two hours ago in old frying oil. Then, we ordered drinks, I got a margarita and it tasted super weird like they put a bunch of club soda in it?? So yeah the environment was nice but if you go I wouldn't order anything. There's another restaurant across the street Cobalt that we went to the night before and their food was amazing! The food quality was way higher and the prices were great!

It's the food folks go there for. The oysters were fresh and served in a simple appealing way. The fish was white and firm and delicious. The grilled shrimp they are famous for do not have a savory flavor, tastes more like they were grilled with honey on them. We were not expecting that at all. We did not like the 30 dollars worth of sweet shrimp. It does come in very generous portion if you like that type of flavor. Hush puppies were pretty darn good, light, nicely seasoned with good flavor. The Cole slaw was excellent. All portions were generous. Overall they are friendly, the service is personable and efficient! Ambiance is that of a local diner style, not fancy just comfortable. We liked everything but the sweet grilled shrimp. We are from the north and maybe it is just a southern style we aren't familiar with or used to consuming. The gumbo is pretty good too. They have great mixed drinks and they have one that is a salted caramel flavor that is really excellent. Overall: would highly recommend for a good meal and friendly service. Probably the best place we ate in the Orange Beach area.

She was not, the hostess was mistaken. The "manager" backed up her employee and we were told that we would not be served - after an hour and a half. I respect a manager backing up their employee, but there is a much larger theme here and Cobalt clearly dropped the ball. The lobby area was completely packed and loud, the manager was ENTIRELY disinterested in anything we had to say and didn't care at all that we had been waiting an hour and a half. Cobalt clearly doesn't give a crap whether or not you come back or leave a bad review. The local restaurant choices for large parties are limited, and Cobalt is so busy they apparently don't need to worry about customer service. We won't be back, and I strongly suggest that anyone with a large party avoid Cobalt.

Love that pimento cheese ball appetizer with that blueberry pepper jelly! For lunch, I had the meat and three. It was all good, especially the collard greens. SERVICE THIS WAS MAYBE SOME OF THE BEST SERVICE I HAD THE WHOLE TIME I WAS IN ORANGE BEACH THIS WEEKEND. OUR SERVER WAS SO AMAZING. I HATE THAT I CAN'T REMEMBER HER NAME, BUT SHE WAS ON TOP OF IT AND SUPER DELIGHTFUL. DRINKS The bar area looked really nice. Most of my table had iced tea which everybody enjoyed. I also got a beer from the Mississippi Gulf Coast. I was very impressed by their beer selection and they are a verified venue on the Untappd app so you can go to that app to look at all the beer selection and even filter and sort the beers so that you can have an easier time selecting the proper beverage.
