My husband and I came here for date night while on vacation. We arrived and was told an hour and forty five minute wait, which we were fine with because they were very busy and we didn't arrive super hungry in case the wait was long. We went to the outside bar to have some drinks while we wait to be sat. The bartender, Chris, was super energetic and quick. We saw him pouring someone else a bushwhacker, which is my favorite drink, and asked if he makes a good one. He replied "I make the best one", and he was absolutely correct. We were sat after less than an hour, and our waitress Haley was amazing. She was friendly the entire night and we had great banter with her. We ordered crab claws as an appetizer and they were cooked to perfection. My husband ordered the Surf-n-Surf and I ordered the Bronzed Grouper. Haley checked in with us often, and after some time she realized we hadn't received our dinner. She went to check on it, and there was a technical issue with their handheld and it hadn't gotten rung in. My husband and I weren't upset because we understand how it is in the restaurant industry, and sometimes technology fails. We didn't ask for a manager, but one came out and spoke to us and apologized, which we appreciated. We received dinner shortly after that, and it was some of the best seafood we've ever had. We ordered the creole cheesecake and chocolate cake to take home with us, and they were both phenomenal as well. When it came time to pay, my husbands card wasn't working properly, so he went to grab mine from the car. Haley was patient with us the entire time. Not our first time here but it's always amazing!! We go for a company dinner and have a buffet dinner in the private dining room. The buffet included cowboy caviar, spinach dip with tortilla chips and pita chips, green salad, cheese grits, macaroni and cheese, asparagus, a grilled fish, fried shrimp and chicken fingers. It was all well seasoned and delicious! Dessert was cookies and an AMAZING chocolate chip bread pudding that was some of the best I've ever had!! I also had a lemon drop martini made with raspberry vodka and it was great as well. It's not on the menu so you have to ask for it. We also went another day and had dinner from the menu. I had the fish if the day which was a grilled snapper that I had Oscar style topped with crab, served with a cheese risotto, It all went together well and was scrumptious! The oysters were good, the blackened snapper was great, and the rice they serve it on was honestly the standout. The only downside is the wait. You're looking at a minimum of 1.5 to 2 hours every time you go. The live music helps pass the time, so if a wait like that doesn't bother you, this place is perfect. read more

View is fantastic, it's a very large facility, and appeared most anywhere you sit you're going to get a great view. We were the for Sunday Lunch, not that crowded, so I can't speak for what to expect on Friday or Saturday evening. Food was excellent. Wife and I both enjoyed our selections. Portions were good, temperature was good. Could tell seafood was fresh and cooked to order. We had been there once before one evening for a cocktail and appetizer, but took us a while to make it back for a complete meal. It's busy and we had a fairly long wait but the time goes by quickly when you can watch the boats go by and listen to the live music. Menu has a lot of variety for everyone. Food was good. Today, we celebrated our 37th Anniversary and we chose to go to Cobalt for our anniversary dinner. Let me tell you, this place did NOT disappoint! We started out with Firecracker Shrimp for an appetizer. That remoulade sauce is all the rage! Excellent dish! Next, the wife got a house salad with a Champagne Vinaigrette dressing. Very tasty. I kept eating the shrimp! For entrees, the Wife ordered her favorite dish: The Shrimp Fra Diavolo. It was as good as always. Great spice notes. I ordered the Bronzed Grouper and it was delicious! The fish was cooked to perfection and the risotto was spot on. The sautéed blue crab was a nice touch. The flavor profile was very nice. Our server, whose name was Rachel, was very attentive, friendly, knowledgeable and courteous. Her pacing of our food was excellent. She recommended the Blackened Redfish with jambalaya and grilled asparagus, but after being disappointed last time by the Shrimp and Grits, I was determined to get the house specialties this time and I was very pleased. The manager stopped by and complemented us on our choices, noting the house specialties. Even Rachel said that if I had not tried the Bronzed Grouper, that I had to get it at least once. However, I will try the Redfish the next time that we visit. We enjoyed a nice Pinot Grigio with our meal and got some gourmet cookies to go (Lemon Coconut and Key Lime). There was no wait, so that was good. We had a great view of the water and our waiter was very attentive. I had their most popular dish according to the waiter, some type of grouper and my husband had the days special of red snapper something or other. I had a salad and he got a cup of gumbo. Salad was very fresh and gumbo was ok. My grouper is fine - just average though. Not a lot of flavor. My husbands was average as well - a bit fishy. Cobalts holds a lot of people with a very roomy indoor area, high ceilings and a lovely nautical motif. And if you want to enjoy the outdoors they have a delightful outdoor area with beautiful foliage everywhere. It overlooks the Perdido Bay on one side and the Gulf of America on the other. Just a gorgeous view. Now to the meat of the matter, or in this case shrimp. Starting it off with appetizers was their BBQ Gulf Shrimp. Delicious and fresh, sautéed in a Creole butter sauce and served with grilled French bread. Just an amazing flavor combination. My main was the Shrimp Fra Diavolo. Again with the shrimp, lol. Sautéed with roasted mushrooms, onions, chargrilled lemon, fresh spinach, and arugula with spicy marinara and angel hair pasta. And when they say spicy they mean spicy. I loved every bite. Our server was just plain awesome. I was floored when she told me this was her first job serving. Always checking to see if anything was needed. My family of 4 had a variety of entrees: Chargrilled Oysters: (grade B) solid flavor but they could've been a bit more chargrilled with more parmigiana cheese Beast Burger - (grade B) good change up from the normal with Elk, bison and wagu beef, and the blue cheese created a flavor bomb. The buns are a bit heavy a nice chew. Fried fish sandwich: (grade A-) it was sheepshead which I never heard of, but it was meaty and perfectly fried. My wife had the blackened fish sandwich and she doesn't like white fish as much, but she thought it was delicious Blackened Redfish: (grade B) it was good but not as seasoned as I prefer. The jambalaya and asparagus that it was served with gets a C-. Not much attention paid to the sides. Get fries. Overall friendly staff and the restaurant handles crows very well. read more

My family and I went to dinner yesterday. There was a long wait since the patio was closed due to the weather, but the staff were super friendly. The hostesses were so welcoming and sweet from the time we walked up and left. Our server was very tentative and made sure we were good on our drinks and had everything we needed. Dinner at Cobalt's was a mixed bag, but there were definitely some standouts! The crab and scallop cakes were delicious, especially paired with the coleslaw bedding underneath. The tuna nachos were a great appetizer and disappeared quickly. The pecan-crusted catfish was a huge hit at our table. One of the kids thoroughly enjoyed the pepperoni and Italian sausage pizza. Cobalt's is such a fun spot - and really indicative of the vibes in and around Orange Beach. The food is great, and the service is some of the best I've had in a long time! There's a huge free parking lot attached to the restaurant, which is always a perk worth calling out. A big heads-up that if you're looking for a quick dining experience, this isn't the place. Cobalt's doesn't take reservations, and you will wait at least an hour (but maybe closer to two hours like we did). However, there's a bar outdoors that you can grab drinks from while you wait, and the view of the bay is beautiful enough to keep you occupied for a long while. When we were finally seated inside, our server Tyler greeted us like we were long lost friends and shared all of the day's specials, along with several menu highlights. He made it clear to us that there was no wrong order, and after sampling a good bit of their menu, I have to agree with him. I also want to say that the great service we received from Tyler made up for the long wait just to get to our table ... and then some! I ordered the fresh catch of the day, which was swordfish. I opted to have it prepared grilled, and it was cooked perfectly and served with buttery green beans and a Cajun-inspired rice. Our group of seven tried a little bit of everything, and I'm not exaggerating when I say every bite was delicious. From the halibut special to the grouper to the steak to the tuna ... it was all extremely fresh and full of fun flavors. P.S. If you're a fan of oysters, these are some of the freshest I've had. Loved this restaurant! Got there about 6 pm on. Thursday night. Was quoted 1 hr 45min wait. Waited about 1 hour. They use the toast app so you know where you are on the wait list. Sat at the bar had apps and listened to the steel drums while waiting for a table. The bartenders were fun and engaging. They made so many blended drinks! We really enjoyed the cocktails there. Service was fast for most of the meal, but towards the end of our meal, two very large parties were seated in our section and it caused a small delay. White BBQ Pork Tenderloin was great. The meat was very tender and the brie gnocchi went perfectly with the Brussel sprouts. I had a painkiller sans alcohol and it was divine. We've been coming here since they opened in 2009. A must stop for us when we come to the beach. Food and service was amazing as always. We had the Bronzed Grouper, Zydeco Chicken and Crab and Scallop Gnocchi. Ask for bread because it does not come with the meal. You will want it if you order the Crab and Scallop Gnocchi or Zydeco Chicken because the sauces are awesome. Still the best Bushwhackers anywhere in my opinion. Love the dockside dining and afternoon music. Gave them 4.5 stars today only because the oysters were so small. As a courtesy the wait staff should to let the customers know when a menu item may not meet expectations because I would not have ordered them. I respect a manager backing up their employee, but there is a much larger theme here and Cobalt clearly dropped the ball. The lobby area was completely packed and loud, the manager was ENTIRELY disinterested in anything we had to say and didn't care at all that we had been waiting an hour and a half. Cobalt clearly doesn't give a crap whether or not you come back or leave a bad review. The local restaurant choices for large parties are limited, and Cobalt is so busy they apparently don't need to worry about customer service. Three of us lunched here at Colbalt, which is next to the Caribe Resort. The weather was perfect so we dined outside. A lovely patio area overlooking the bay. Flowers placed strategically around the area made for lovely ambiance. Watching the boats coming in and out was really special. We ordered the poke' tuna avocado stack with fried wonton between layers, topped with an eel sauce. I would order this again for my lunch! Fabulous! We all shared. The presentation was lovely.
