We walked in and were seated immediately. As a large party (9), this seemed to be super fast in my opinion! The food was amazing. I got the pork tenderloin and the bacon cheese mashed potatoes and they were KILLER. Definitely a must stop on your Gulf Shores vacation! read more

Went with friends on a Monday night and it was packed. We waited at the outside bar for about an hour. We were seated a a perfect table on the water. Our servers were very friendly and attentive. Started with appetizers Colbat caviar and sautéed crab claws. Both were delicious!! I had a margarita pizza and added chicken recommended by the server. Awesome recommendation this was a really good pizza. My hubby had blackened red fish with garlic mashed potatoes and asparagus. It said it was very good. Our friends had the colbalt pizza and the other had the grouper which they said was also really good. We will definitely return when in the area !! Highly recommend but bring your patience. read more

Food was delicious, but it was the outside bar, music, and bartenders we loved! Also loved sitting out by the water.

Excellent meal, we had Bronzed Grouper with blue crab over risotto and Crab & Scallop Gnocchi. Our server, Blake, was attentive without being intrusive and was knowledgeable of the menu with recommendations and insight into the kitchen workings. The dining was relaxed with great scenery and decor. Will definitely return next trip. read more

Three of us lunched here at Colbalt, which is next to the Caribe Resort. The weather was perfect so we dined outside. A lovely patio area overlooking the bay. Flowers placed strategically around the area made for lovely ambiance. Watching the boats coming in and out was really special. We ordered the poke' tuna avocado stack with fried wonton between layers, topped with an eel sauce. I would order this again for my lunch! Fabulous! We all shared. The presentation was lovely. Britney was a wonderful and attentive server. We took the rest of the family to Cobalt the next night for dinner. Everyone loved it all! Enjoyed the live music! read more

Wonderful location where all seats have a water view. Dedicated parking makes access easy although can be tight during busy times. Daily happy hours offers discounts to several appetizers and bar drinks. A full bar with large screens is a favorite stop for sport enthusiasts. Pleasant service ensured we wanted for nothing. Great house bisque and crab dip. A great stop to kick back and watch the boats go by from their dining room or outside seating area. read more

Great spot! Atmosphere is light, open and beachy. Glass wall opens to a nice view. Several dinning options with indoor and outdoor door seating. The Band playing on the deck was very nice. Talented musicians and not to loud. The staff were friendly and efficient. We ordered the wedge salad, Pizzas, Crab Claws and Shrimp Poboys and they were all very good. read more

First, our server Bri M was a gem. When asked about recommendations she didn't hesitate and was spot on. This was my wife's birthday and we love Cobalt. The food has always been excellent and the ambiance tonight was perfect. The chargrilled oysters was very good, my blackened red fish and wife's crab and scallop gnocchi was perfect. When we visit OB we always try to have a Cobalt dinner. Keep up the good work. read more

Just left here because girl sitting us was rude. Plenty of other places in town. Should also invest in some shades outside.

Every time I've been here it's been phenomenal. Their drinks are great and the fish of the day is always good. There was a 2 1/2 hour wait yesterday and we decided to sit at the bar and I'm gonna tell you right now. That is the secret. Attentive service even when crowded! Next to Pink Pony, their Bushwhackers are our favorite. It's a unique take on the drink and I can't get enough! A+++ read more

Would love to review the food, but our party of 11 was told to leave after an hour and a half wait because one of the hostesses thought she overheard a member of our party being rude to her. She was not, the hostess was mistaken. The "manager" backed up her employee and we were told that we would not be served - after an hour and a half. I respect a manager backing up their employee, but there is a much larger theme here and Cobalt clearly dropped the ball. The lobby area was completely packed and loud, the manager was ENTIRELY disinterested in anything we had to say and didn't care at all that we had been waiting an hour and a half. Cobalt clearly doesn't give a crap whether or not you come back or leave a bad review. The local restaurant choices for large parties are limited, and Cobalt is so busy they apparently don't need to worry about customer service. We won't be back, and I strongly suggest that anyone with a large party avoid Cobalt. read more

We've been coming here since they opened in 2009. A must stop for us when we come to the beach. Food and service was amazing as always. We had the Bronzed Grouper, Zydeco Chicken and Crab and Scallop Gnocchi. Ask for bread because it does not come with the meal. You will want it if you order the Crab and Scallop Gnocchi or Zydeco Chicken because the sauces are awesome. Still the best Bushwhackers anywhere in my opinion. Love the dockside dining and afternoon music. Gave them 4.5 stars today only because the oysters were so small. As a courtesy the wait staff should to let the customers know when a menu item may not meet expectations because I would not have ordered them. In their defense I could have asked myself.‍ Will definitely be back. Awesome place for good food and atmosphere. Chip & Rhonda Millbrook, AL read more

Food was average at best; drinks tasted watered down. Service at the table was great. Getting a table was a pain.

The food was good, but the service was TERRIBLE! We waited 45 minutes to be seated (party of 2) and during that time, 4 parties who came in after us were seated first. Once seated, three tables that ordered AFTER us were brought their food, the waitress checked on us once the entire time, and we had to flag down wait staff to get our check. This was on a Wednesday evening at 630. It took 2 hours by the time we were seated, ordered, and received our food. read more

Met a friend for lunch. Everything was delicious. Great drink menu. I wish they had more beers on draft. I had beast burger no bun and a side salad. My friend got the tuna salad. All was delicious. We sat outside on the deck. Nice to watch the boats go by. Great service we would return. read more

Very attentive service and outdoor seating right on the water with a walkway you can walk on after dinner. There was a mix of people dressed nice and casual. The crab and shrimp dip was good but nothing special. The fresh catch of the day was red snapper, which I got Oscar style. It was very good but not as good as their other restaurant, Cosmo's. The Parmesan risotto and green beans were alright. When getting a side, do not skip the Brussels!!!! They were heavenly. read more

My wife & I hit up Cobalt for the first time on a Sunday evening about 7pm. Here's how it went: Wait Time: Initially we were told that the wait for indoor tables was 20-30 min and outdoor tables was about an hour. We elected to wait for indoor tables and then went to the bar to get a couple of drinks. She got the white Sangria & I had an Old Fashioned. While she was somewhat disappointed in her drink, I enjoyed mine. We only sat at the bar for about 10 minutes, then were notified our table was ready. Service: Our waiter was a friendly guy and provided good service during our visit. He made recommendations and had a great attitude. Food: The wife ordered the Zydeco Chicken and I asked for the Bronzed Gulf Grouper. Both dishes were excellent. Fresh ingredients and great flavor. Atmosphere: Lively, but not deafening. We were about to talk easily and still be heard. The decor and layout of the restaurant is very good. Clean, and a great view from windows inside to the water past the outdoor seating area. Overall, we rate Cobalt at 5 Stars. We are likely to visit them again. read more

There was no wait, so that was good. We had a great view of the water and our waiter was very attentive. I had their most popular dish according to the waiter, some type of grouper and my husband had the days special of red snapper something or other. I had a salad and he got a cup of gumbo. Salad was very fresh and gumbo was ok. My grouper is fine - just average though. Not a lot of flavor. My husbands was average as well - a bit fishy. Way way over priced for food and this is our third time to try eating here. Fisherman's Corner hands down for the best meal around! read more

This is not fine dining so just fyi you don't need to dress up. The chef special was bland and the mac n cheese was dry noodles with watery sauce poured over it. The key lime pie was not what you expect with key lime pie. It did not taste like key lime and the texture was strangely grainy. Our waitress was wonderful though. My boyfriend's food was ok. The best thing was the crab cakes for him . Maybe just what we picked but it was disappointing for us other than the waitress. read more

More of an upscale restaurant, come in on a nice day and enjoy the large patio with Gulf views! Offering an extensive food and bar menu. I'd recommend the Bang Bang Shrimp appetizer. A battered crispy shrimp in an orange umami sauce. Very tasty! For a meal, I opted for the catch of the day: a local caught Amberjack fish grilled, with jambalaya rice and fresh green beans. This was excellent! Just remember to ask your server about daily specials. I have been to Cobalt many times and always have a pleasant experience. read more

Everything about this place is amazing. Great menu selections, and although there is generally a wait, they make the wait tolerable by having a large seating area next to the bar. They offer outdoor seating right on the bay, which I imagine would be prime during busier seasons. Food was good, service was on-point, price is average. read more

Welllll we have been trying many years on our vacations to come here for the infamous burgers....finally made it only to be so disappointed... We were seated at 1:12pm....our server was so friendly knowledgable We order some appetizers and our lunch... Tables seated after us were getting their food 35 mins passed I waved the server over....no food just yet:-( My burger arrived less the topper, my husbands arrived soooo over cooked it was pathetic. Sent the burger back but at this point way order something else and wait?? Runners may be the challenge but ultimately the server needs to be aware who's got what who doesn't and checking in... I know I won't get my husband back there so all around a loss:-( read more

Wow this place was suggested by a real estate agent we met and it did not disappoint! Checked off all the boxes- outside water view seating with a dolphin sighting, Superb service by Sasha and the best lunch we have had on the island!Absolutely beautiful restaurant and the shrimp and grits were perfect for lunch and my husband loved the po boy sandwich. This place is delicious, and perfect spot to watch the comings and goings of the pass. We enjoyed an early dinner while watching the boats and birds in the water. The flavor and preparation of the food was on point. I like that they offered pizza since my kiddo doesn't like seafood. The favorite of the night were the pistole and gnocchi, but everything was great! They have a gift shop inside with Knick knacks along with a sweets counter. There was plenty of outside seating in addition to the indoor area. read more

I came two days in a row! The first night I visited I had the pan seared grouper with the brussel sprouts. It was fantastic. The water was calm and the atmosphere was relaxing. The service was good, and server was very knowledgeable about the menu. The next day, I really wanted seafood again, so I decided to stop in for lunch before heading home. I'm so glad I decided to stop. The catch of the day was Amberjack which is my absolute favorite, so I had blackened amberjack with brussel sprouts. Iykyk. Brussel sprouts are my jam! The service was great at lunch, too! Overall, 5/5! Definitely will return when I am down in the area. read more

I'd def be prepared to wait for a table if you're going to Cobalt, at least an hour. They told us the wait time would be 2-2.5 hours but I don't think we waited the full 2. Server was amazing. My grandma did not like her meal (burger) and she didn't make her pay for it. I got the chicken pasta and it was very good and after tax was $23. Others got the fish platter and liked it as well. We sat outside and it was so pretty. I recommend going at sunset! read more
