Yummy yum yum. I am currently on vacation in Orange Beach and we kept passing up this restaurant and I am a sucker for some good fried shrimp so I have to come! I loved the ambiance of this restaurant. I loved all the wall art and signs. I loved the beach theme everywhere. The service was also amazing 1000/10. We had a server named Kaitlin who told us all about Orange Beach and Pensacola and gave some great menu suggestions. I ordered this special where you can get a drink , appetizer, and entree starting at $12. For a $4 up charge I got a margarita for my drink. For a soup I got red beans and rice with smoked sausage and a shrimp basket with fries which also came with hush puppies and coleslaw. The margarita was the only downside of the meal. It tasted like straight orange juice, salt, and lemons. The red beans were great and the shrimp was as well. An honorable mention is their hot sauce. They had hands down one of the best hot sauces I have tried. If you are looking for some affordable good food, this is the place to come to. read more

Food was absolutely amazing and service was nice and quick! Would highly recommend and return on another trip. We had the endless shrimp, redfish and chicken Alfredo. All the plates were cleaned up! read more

Love coming here at this location each time I come to the beach. Food is always great !!! There is indoor and outdoor seating. The service and employees are always friendly, however wait times can vary based of how busy they are. There are many varieties to choose from on their menu for seafood. There is definitely something for everyone here. Great food for the price! Ambience is pretty laid back and casual. I enjoy this type of restaurant as a good switch up. read more

We were there on Sunday evening and they were short staffed but the service and food was the best we had in the area. Our waitress made certain we were well taken care of and the two in our party who had the all you can eat popcorn shrimp the next order was in as she delivered. We dined outside and there were plenty of fans so it was cool. Don't overlook this restaurant as it is a chain but the seafood was fresher than anyplace else! read more

As soon as we walked in Justin greeted us and promised that we would love anything we ordered. And he was not lying! We had an awesome meal! We both had popcorn shrimp, I had the value meal that offered a drink, appetizer and a half basket which was more than enough. He had the full basket which was a lot of food! Our server was attentive and took good care of us. The best meal of the week at the best prices. Our only regret, we didn't find this place until our last evening here! read more

I've been here many times , but the quality is taking a dip, gumbo is a 1 out of 10 , the stuff in a grocery store is better , hush puppies are like tasteless golf balls , dense void of flavor , don't waste your money, it survives because of the good location , it's obvious that no one really cares about the quality. I would rather have had a gas station hotdog. read more

We received a recommendation from several locals to check out this place (on Perdido Beach) as superior to other locations. And while we didn't try the other places, this was awesome. I discovered I love shrimp and grits! Or at least their S&G. Service was good - food was delivered quickly and piping hot and they did a great job keeping our drinks filled. We sat outside, which was a bit warm but we enjoyed it over the inside, which seemed a bit crowded and chilly. I know I ate more - but my fond memories of the shrimp and grits have really stayed with me - so much so that we're coming back the next time we come back to Alabama's Gold Coast. read more

Oyster tues. .79 each... need I say more? Very good oysters, fresh and a good size. A must if you like oysters. Ayce steam shrimp was good too, slightly season. Could only stomach eight plates. Got a free appetizer thru the app. Earn points too. Spacious n accommodating. Service was good. Nice place recommended. read more

Food was delicious. Best slaw I have had in years! Tail-in shrimp was suggested by server - it was great. REAL cut potato fries. All three in the party had some kind of shrimp. All were impressed! Atmosphere was relaxed and not noisy at all. Our server was Nikki. Ask for her! Justin also came by to make sure all was good. It was! read more

The Shrimp Basket is always a great place to stop, when wanting a quick meal. Our food was hot and fresh, as well as comparable for the price. Definitely a great place to take the family, when on a budget. Outdoor seating area was nice and clean and the staff was quite friendly. Overall was a good experience and meal. read more

I haven't been to the Shrimp Basket in years ... but, I can remember when they were the only place in Foley, Alabama, that actually served fried, boiled, or scampi shrimp served up in a plastic basket. They were very reasonably priced, their hushpuppies and coleslaw had tiny baby shrimps in it, and they served small new potatoes with your meal. They didn't complain about you needing to take leftovers home either, like many of the local restaurants do now. And, you could eat inside, as we always did, or you could eat outside on a umbrella table, in the 1000 degree humid heat temperature with all the bugs and mosquitos flying at you and getting into your food! We made so many memories there, together, that I will never forget. Take care and be safe. Patsy Walker Ronemous RN read more

Food was really good and the service was great also. Seafood boil was really good. Will definitely eat here again next time we're in town.

Was great food great experience so glad found this place definitely will come back again

First off, water was terrible. Tasted like they dunked a cup in the ocean and put some ice in it. Although the mac and cheese bites in The Trio was good that was about it. I got the steamed shrimp platter and it was TERRIBLE. No flavor, no spice, and was so overcooked. Do not recommend!! read more

My husband and I ordered the onion rings with peach marmalade dip. It was so good! We got the coconut shrimp and our server Tyler recommended dipping them in the peach marmalade as well. So delicious! Can't wait to come back again! read more

The food tasted great! Our server was friendly and the food was out in a timely manner!

I usually keep my mouth shut if I had a bad experience at a restaurant but we seemed to be singled out with our waitress being rude to us. We were very nice and had simple orders, appetizers were brought to other tables who arrived after us but ours came with our meals. One of us ordered a Coke and never got it but never saw the waitress again until it was too late to try to get it. When she brought our checks we told her we never got it (because she was charged for it) and the waitress gave an awful look and was checking the table for it (I guess thought we were lying??) then walked off. Just an overall rude waitress but didn't seem to hate the other 2 tables by us. We were nice the whole time anyways but won't be returning. read more

Shrimp Basket - Fried Crab Claws were terrible.. very overcooked or old... $26 and tried to eat but couldn't - Seafood Near Me - Orange Beach, Alabama

Made it in for dinner after a day on the beach and family photos (also on Orange Beach, AL). My dinner was Fried shrimp & French fries, corn fritter, and hush puppies (I had fried okra instead of the pictured cole slaw, but didn't get a picture as I went straight to eating as soon as it was served, so this is a restaurant photo). The shrimp & fries, hush puppies and corn fritter were all very tasty, and the service was great as well. The shrimp batter was crispy (not overdone), very flavorful, and the same goes for the fries, hush puppies and corn fritter. The service was pretty good as well, especially being a little later dinner time. The Shrimp Basket in Orange Beach, AL is on the "I'd go again" list. read more

Our food was so good! The Mac n cheese appetizer was really good and so were our entrees. Our kids loved their crab! Service was also very very good. I highly recommend this place! read more

Let me start with the positive. The food and drinks are good not great and the atmosphere is fun here. For the negative our server who was new and only been doing this for 3 weeks. She really did do as good as she could and was trying hard. Bless her soul lol. Our food was all mixed up among our table. My wife got Cajun when she wanted blackened. And when we went to pay the 2 tickets were so far off from what we had per family we just said the heck with it and paid it. If it wasn't for the food this would be a 2 star or less. read more

Literally the worst place we ate on vacation. Half the food wasn't edible and just gross. We were seated immediately and ordered immediately. It took almost two hours to receive the food. I left a review on their website. Customer service never got back to me. We will never eat there again. It was so awful. read more

We asked to sit in the mostly vacant patio with our dog, this seemed to absolutely perplex the hostess. She was rude and huffy about it. We should have left at that exact moment. But we were hungry and desperate, this places ideal customer. We ordered oysters, one was rancid. We ordered cocktails, heavily watered down. Basically high c fruit juice with a quarter shot of booze. Our waitress was very pleasant and polite. However, while waiting for the check I did spot her inside playing on what appeared to be a tablet. The crab cluster was decent. The Cajun pasta was barely edible. The coconut shrimp was dry and tasted like it had been microwaved. $115 for a very lousy experience. read more

We got to the restaurant last night at 8:00 and placed our order at 8:10 after waiting 10 minutes for someone to come by and get our drinks. We then waited and waited for 20 minutes, then 30, then 40, then 50 minutes went by and we asked for a manager. The restaurant was not busy at all, yet our waitress rarely ever came around. She never gave us updates on our order, barely asked if we needed anything, and was not sympathetic at all. The manager had no excuse for why it was taking long but after waiting for then an hour and 10 minutes we got our food. The food was cold, tasted terrible, and now 2 of my family members have food poisoning. I would not recommend coming here!! read more

The staff is willing to go above and beyond for their customers!! Even managers helped to make our experience great!

The hostess seemed bothered that we even showed up to eat. Food is very greasy and nothing special. Would not recommend.

Late March Spring Break visit to Shrimp Basket with a 6:30 pm arrival. Seated after a 20 minute wait for an outside table. Server promptly took our drink order. We ordered a dozen oysters (.79 oyster night); ordered main course 5-10 minutes later. At this point the reason for my 3 star review presented itself....the food took a long time to arrive - approximately 40-45 minutes. We were prepared to leave about 35 minutes in but were told our food would be out very soon...which was true. Spoke to the manager and she was very professional and apologetic. She stated they had just gotten swamped and were trying to catch up. We recommended that they seat less tables until they caught up and she stated she "wasn't allowed to do that." The food was pretty good...6.5/10. Recommend going here off peak times. read more

I will never come here ever again!!! Terrible hostess Bartender is ever worse Told the wait time would be 25 minutes and it was over an hour. Told the extra wait time was due to staff quitting during shift . The server did her job and I feel for her working with a terrible management. We use to love this location, but it was awful and no one seemed to care. Try Perdido key or Gulf Shores if in this area. OB is not what it use to be read more

i ordered to go - online system said 27 min. when we arrived at the time the online order said it would be ready - they told me they would start it soon but would be at least 40 more minutes. we waited 2hours. update : manager April was really apologetic when she came with our food. grateful for the discount and order was 100% correct when we got it. Advise you just call if making an online order and make sure the system estimate is correct before picking up. way to make things right! read more
