Ribeye, garlic butter with shrimp and loaded sweet potato

This was my third time coming here, and I'd give this place five stars every single time. Absolutely the best steak I've ever had -- always juicy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. The staff is consistently friendly and welcoming, which makes the experience even better. I do wish the bathroom setup was a bit and a bigger bathroom and that reservations could be made ahead of time, but aside from those small things, I'll definitely keep coming back to this location.

Absolute 10/10!! Service was great and we got our food lickity split. I got the filet with a baked potato and a salad and I have to say it's the best steak I've had

We decided to spend the last night of my birthday vacation at Big Mike's Steakhouse on the recommendation of my dad. We got there around 6:45 and it was PACKED and we were told that for our party of four, there would be a two hour wait. We anticipated this so we put our name in and went back to our condo only to return within about an hour to find that we were next on the list to be sat. The hostesses were awesome! We get to our table and our server Erica greeted us promptly and took our drink and apps orders. We tried the Fried Onion Strings and the Fried Mozzarella Wedges. The onion strings came out piping hot and were paired with this sort of kick-ass comeback sauce. Absolutely delicious. The wedges were kind of cold in the middle and sadly, no cheese pull at all. Still good mozzarella though. Next up was probably the best side salad I've ever had. Simply done, but well executed; and that blue cheese dressing was on point. Then came the best steak I've had in a long time. Perfectly seasoned and perfectly cooked to a superb medium rare. Melt in your mouth ribeye perfection. Well marbled. Absolutely excellent. And the loaded baked potato was a stand out, too. Then Erica, who served us so well and kept our drinks full the entire time, brought out a fried bread pudding for my birthday dessert, and when I tell you we couldn't have ended the meal any better, I mean it. 5 stars all around from top to bottom. Will most definitely be back next time I'm in Orange Beach. You MUST try Big Mike's!!!

Food was outstanding, service was outstanding, atmosphere was outstanding. Nice place to go enjoy a meal. I was kind of surprised that the sound level in the building was so good being that there was tin ceilings. I could carry on a conversation my wife with no problem hearing her even with the restaurant being crowded, that really stood out to me. Erica did a fantastic job.

Wow! Drove by this on our way in for the week and the place was PACKED- put it on the list to try. Expect longer wait times, but it's worth it! (Our wait was 1 hour/1.5 hours on Monday night at 7pm... and Line halfway out the parking lot at 5pm on a Tuesday when driving past again). Food options for everyone- steaks, seafood, combos, salads, chicken, etc. They start you out with warm bread and the best butter to top- think homemade butter with honey, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Yum! I got the filet, with sweet potatoes and asparagus. I got the added topper of smothered- which was herb butter with caramelized onions and mushrooms. The rest of the group did the ribeye and did the "split" option, to have their own sides. They have other toppers they tried that was lump crap in a creamy sauce. They homemake their ranch and thousand island for the salad dressings. The steaks were so flavorful and grilled to perfection. The filet melted in your mouth. Sweet potato was topped with butter and brown sugar. Asparagus was buttered and cooked perfect! Sad I didn't snap more pictures but I didn't have a chance! Wanted to dive in!

Good food ,service and rustic steakhouse ambiance.. tried seared tuna and a filet m.. both cooked nicely and tasty. Tried the fried filet bites app: too salty and bready. Overall $50 for filet and 30 for other mains.. 2 sides with entree so next time I would skip the appetizer. They also bring out a hot loaf of pumpernickel bread with cinnamon butter gratis-which was delicious.

This is an old-school steakhouse - not a ton of frills and they put their effort into doing a few things the right way rather than 1000 things mediocre. The steaks were very well cooked and tender, I would prefer just a bit more salt/seasoning, but keeping it simple as good also. for sides you get either a baked potato or french fries and a house salad, very traditional. They do have some other sides you can choose from. We got the char grill oysters, which were also very delicious. For dessert, we got the bread, pudding, and I highly recommend getting the ice cream as the waiter suggested. It was very good and enough to feed the 3 of us. They don't take reservations so the wait can be a while, we got there about 30 minutes after they opened and only had a 10 minute wait. If you are looking for a good authentic steakhouse, this is a great choice.

Listen the wait is crazy! Even in the rain the wait was an hour but it wad well worth it. Massive steaks cook to perfection. Don't let the wait deter you just sit in your car and wait. We will definitely eat there again on our next vacation.

Judge for yourself, this was our experience... We arrived at 8:50pm. We were seated around 9:15. The server did not come to our table until 9:35 to check in with us. 20 minutes looking at a one sided menu. We went ahead and ordered our food with the servers first visit to the table to try and expedite the process and we did not receive the food at our table until after closing time. So before we got the food, they were preparing tables to close up for the night making us feel a little rushed. The steaks were just ok. Depending on how much seasoning you'd like...if you don't like seasoning then you will love the steaks. They're were cooked to perfection though. Overall it was just a bad experience for us visiting this place and I doubt we will be back unfortunately.

Finally stopped into the newest steak place in Orange Beach the expectations were high but my…read morerecent visit was a bit underwhelming. The venue is nice, the service good, but the food was just okay. Located right on Canal Road, this spot sits in the building that used to house a favorite local breakfast joint before transitioning into this casual steak and seafood concept. The name BOLO actually stands for "Bear on the Lookout," which ties into their sister restaurant over at Bear Point Harbor. When you pull up, you will find plenty of easy, dedicated parking right out front. Inside, they have completely transformed the space into a cozy, casual vibe with dim lighting, rustic wood accents, comfortable booth seating, and a nice indoor bar area. Most reviews online have been generally solid, averaging around four stars, with folks usually praising the upscale atmosphere and friendly staff. The crowd favorites on the menu typically include their hand-cut ribeye steaks, the prime rib, broiled oysters, and their unique collard green grilled cheese small plate. I tried a wide variety of their offerings, the bread was just okay, coconut shrimp was very disappointing, the chopped salad was quite good, the wings were different and not bad but not great, my friend's prime rib steak sandwich was fair, but the fries were not good. Unfortunately my ribeye was average at best but that's where the underwhelming really hit home. The place was pretty empty, and it might because of the food, but the same folks that own this previously had an extra special breakfast spot here and I had my hopes that this would just special. I will go back again down the road and give them a try and hope that they improve their food.

One thing that stood out was the gift shop at the entrance--it could definitely use a refresh. The dark corner filled with outdated beach clothing isn't the best first impression. We visited on a Tuesday around 7:00 p.m., and there was no wait. During our meal, only about four tables were occupied, so it was very quiet. Our waitress was friendly, attentive, and checked on us frequently. The only odd part of the atmosphere was that cartoons were playing on the bar TVs even though there weren't any kids in the restaurant. For dinner, my husband ordered the surf and turf, and his steak was cooked perfectly. The baked potato, however, came with an overwhelming amount of melted cheese--enough for several potatoes. I ordered the blackened grouper. It was cooked well and had good flavor, but the fillet was very thin and wasn't as memorable as other grouper dishes I've had. The whipped sweet potatoes were sweeter than expected from the brown sugar, and the Brussels sprouts were heavily coated in a sweet balsamic glaze, leaving them soft instead of crispy. I think both sides would be better with less added sweetness to let the natural flavors shine. We finished with the Bananas Foster, which was delicious and a fun presentation. It came with three small scoops of vanilla ice cream and half a banana. Since the flaming presentation takes a little time, larger scoops of ice cream would hold up better and not be half melted by the time the fire goes out. Fire Cracker Shrimp Fried Rice - 9.2 I order this every time we visit. It is my favorite dish of all the places we visit each year at the beach. It may not be the best but definitely my favorite and in the top 3 as far as best goes. The fried egg on top really puts it over the top although, I do wish it was runny and not cooked through. Gyoza - 7.0 Has a lot of filling which is good however, it isn't very seasoned or flavorful. They appeared to be fried however, not very crispy. We try gyoza at nearly any restaurant we visit that has it on the menu. Comparing this to other gyoza's, it's good but not great. Tuna Lovers Roll - 7.8 Roll was good but a little too spicy. The spice was expected obviously but still a tad too spicy. It also lacked the correct amount of sauce in my opinion. It also needed another ingredient or two to take it to the next level. Sesame Cracker w/ Honey Butter - 8.4 I rated it a little higher due to the originality. I have eaten at restaurants in half the States that make up this country and have never had toasted sesame crackers with honey butter. It is a thing in the South to have saltines, club cracker, etc. with butter at seafood and steak restaurants. However, I haven't seen this combo. It was good and not too filling.
