My honey and I were already regular locals back then, but over the years they have somehow continue to kick things another level when you're not paying attention :-); The Philly cheesesteaks are still the absolute gold standard around here, which is saying a lot coming from someone who used to live right in Philadelphia and knows the real deal. I have a few faves like the cheesy mushrooms and the BBQ shrimp, and nowadaya you can't just look at the regular menu. You have to check out their daily specials board because they are constantly knocking it out of the park with creative new dishes and fresh catches. The atmosphere is just even more welcoming, but the outdoor seating is much improved with some sand and stage, perfect for enjoying the coastal breeze. They updated their operating hours too, so they are now open daily from 11 AM to 10 PM. Whether you want to escape the usual tourist trap seafood lines, watch a game on their big screens, or just grab a ice cold beer, or really strong drink, with friendly folks, this place just keeps getting better. The Big Momma was freshly toasthad big bold flavor The Beli is a cute sandwich shop with plenty of outside seating. Sandwich concoctions are truly unique. My wife had the Skinny Legend which was equally tasty. Make sure you know what to expect. It is an open air, dog-friendly, sandwich place with few sides choices (not even many chip options). Additionally there is not any parking. Parking is on the street a few blocks away. Don't try to drive down the driveway next to the sandwich shop in order to park in the back either. The owners of the restaurant next door will be sure to tell you you can't park there. If you just want a good tasting sandwich in the ocean air, this is the place.

Back again today to check out this new place. The ladies are very nice & the food is good! Good stuff!

Rouse's has what New Orleans folks need to stay sane when they are down in the culinary wilds of Lower Alabama where finding just regular mustard is often quite a task much less the BEST mustard option of creole mustard is nearly impossible to find at local restaurants unless you bring your own. I always keep creole mustard in my vehicle at all times as I have frequent mustard emergencies whenever I have to deal with the culinary shortcomings of Alabama. Don't even get me started on what they call "gumbo" which is usually just blah Alabama soup. The ONLY acceptable gumbo I've found in Alabama is at Tamara's Downtown in Fairhope!
