Our server was Lewis B. He is amazing! Warm friendly and funny. He went out of his way to make my mom feel special. He was fast and efficient as well. The food was amazing!!

We had such a wonderful experience at Brick & Spoon! The food was absolutely delicious from start to finish. The Cobb salad was fresh, perfectly portioned, and full of flavor with crisp greens and great toppings. The American breakfast platter was hearty and comforting -- everything cooked just right and exactly what you want for a satisfying breakfast. We also tried the cheeseburger, and it did not disappoint: juicy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. What truly made our visit special, though, was our waiter. The service was outstanding -- friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. They made sure we had everything we needed and added such a positive energy to our meal. Great friendly environment. Between the fantastic food and the exceptional service, Brick & Spoon is a must-visit in Orange Beach. We can't wait to come back.

Very nice place. We were seated very quickly. Our Waiter was excellent. Very helpful with recommendations. He had the soft crab Bene. It was very flavorful. The crab is fried to perfection. Not greasy at all. Eggs cooked perfectly. Was looking for something unique and this hit the spot. I had the bananas foster pancake. It was delicious Also HUGE! I could only eat about half. Again something unique that we don't get back home in Iowa. We will definitely go back when we are there.

Checked out this restaurant for brunch and will not go back. It was definitely a one-and-done. We ordered the deviled eggs, and my teenagers were highly disappointed. I thought they were just ok, nothing great, but not worth ordering again. The pancakes were dry, but the generous portion size was enough to feed a family of four. The Brick and Spoon cheeseburger was very filling, and the French fries were good. Nothing was too memorable. Now the Bama Chick is probably the saving face at this restaurant, the chicken was perfectly fried, and the breading was seasoned. The biscuit was flaky and warm, and the gravy and egg were the perfect accompaniments to the dish. Bama Chik was a great dish, which is why I gave it a higher rating. I wish all the food there had been that good.

We came back here again for brunch while visiting Perdido Key for spring break. This time our experience was excellent five out of five stars. The service was fast. This time I got the farmers market Benedict, which was so so good. The English muffins were perfectly toasted. The egg was amazing. I asked for some extra lemons this time to put on top to make the hollandaise more lemony, and it worked like a charm. Love their hot sauce. The kids pancakes were delicious, probably the best pancake pancakes I've ever had and so nicely cooked. The breakfast potatoes are 10 out of 10. A truffle Parmesan french fries are unreal. Cold brew is super strong and very tasty. The server was super helpful and gave us some tips on some places to visit.

First time trying this place and it didn't disappoint. We were in town for a concert and read the reviews so decided to give it a shot and glad we did. We got the southern breakfast and shrimp and grits along with Bloody Marys. Yumm! Service was on point and they got us in and out lickdy split! Left fat and happy!

My three Sorority Sisters and I opted to eat here on our way home from Orange Beach on a Saturday around the time most condos are checking out. We arrived at 10:30. One sister somehow checked us in prior to leaving the condo and score! We had a table shortly after arriving. Brick and packed with people parking in the grass by the roads because the small parking lot was packed. We shared the devilled eggs (this time topped with fried shrimp) appetizer and again, the devilled egg's filling was off putting for me. It was not rich and creamy but, rather, mealy-like. The shrimp was good and the eggs were edible. Sister's had a French 72 (too citrusy for my taste, personally) but she loved it; a bloody mary, and a special advertised on their exterior chalkboard: a screwmosa which is sparkling wine, Titos and OJ. Sister got a shrimp poboy and loved it, other sister got eggs benedict and loved it and last Sister got a breakfast platter with eggs, grits, bacon and a giant biscuit. She liked her meal also! I got a fried chicken sandwich with the special sauce on the side and it was giant! It came with two large pickle slices and tomato and lettuce and a side of fries. I got yellow mustard on the side and was only able to eat one of the giant pieces of chicken. It was a nice, humongous sandwich. Our server was kind, friendly and prompt with drink refills, keeping my water topped off. Their staff do a great job! The only negatives are ten years since my first visit and there still isn't any noise dampening in this restaurant. It's a family friendly place, which is great and the noise associated with lively children and just general conversation is loud. Also, the cramped entrance/hostess stand/restroom area is just that - cramped. There are a few chairs against the walls at the entrance area and people will either sit and wait on the hostess, or they are sitting waiting to use the small restrooms. The ladies restroom has two (or maybe three) stalls, anyway, it's a small restroom, and when patrons are trying to use the ladies room, they are unaware there are ladies waiting in the chairs by the hostess stand. This makes for a restroom bottleneck and makes it hard to check in to get a table. It's a small restaurant and I thought, if it were my restaurant, I would see about adding exterior restrooms to help alleviate the entrance bottleneck. Or, maybe move the hostess stand to the covered porch area just outside the entrance. Thanks Brick & Spoon for being a locally owned restaurant that offers a variety of delicious options that are unique to this fried food laden area!

Favorite restaurant. Best food and service. I got the red snapper with cheese grits and shrimp sauce for breakfast. Really nice atmosphere and ambiance. They have a great menu.

    Bloody Mary Menu!

Very delicious and we will definitely be returning! I will hopefully be able to try one of their bloody Mary's next time as I was unable to partake during this trip!

Ask the Community - Brick & Spoon - Orange Beach

We will be in Orange Beach next Saturday and I am meeting with my biological family. How big is the Brick and Spoon to have a special visit with about 10 guests? Is there a separate room where we can have a quiet place to catch up?

It's a pretty big place easily accommodating 10 people, but I didn't see any small, separate rooms. There is also a large outdoor deck space. Of note: I went around 11am on a Tuesday and it wasn't too busy.

When is the best time to visit? We will be visiting the area on a Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Probably on a Friday because it's not the weekend. On any day, go soon after opening time as this restaurant is popular and worth the wait if there's a line. Bananas in pajamas is a favorite, however, there are many delicious choices on the menu!!

Hominy, hush puppies, cornbread, grits, Alabama white sauce on any meat, especially smoked chicken, are all popular in Alabama. BBQ is practically a religion in the South! As former certified Kansas City Barbeque Society (KCBS) certified judges, my husband and I completed the training and paid the fees to be certified. The "KCBS way" is different from a lot of people's preferences in that, for example, a BBQ rib should actually have some "pull" to it, meaning, when you bite into it, your mouth should leave a mark in the rib. This means "fall off the bones" ribs are not KDBS quality, despite how many love that rib consistency. The KCBS judges slots fill up so quickly and required us to travel at our own cost and we did not judge any KCBS events. Back to Southern food. Deep fried double Oreos are one of the many fried foods here in Huntsville, and Melt restaurant features them on their menu. Meat-and-Three restaurants feature a meat (usually fried pork chop, meatloaf, BBQ, fried catfish, country fried steak/chicken) and three sides (fried okra, creamed corn, mashed potatoes and gravy, baked potato, potato salad, cole slaw, French fries) and bread options such as cornbread, rolls, hush puppies. While Southern Cooking is absolutely delicious, I have to limit it because lets face it, it is high in calories and cholesterol. When I do indulge, it's shrimp and grits, pimento cheese, fried green tomatoes, and fried whole okra.

Love that pimento cheese ball appetizer with that blueberry pepper jelly! For lunch, I had the meat and three. It was all good, especially the collard greens. SERVICE THIS WAS MAYBE SOME OF THE BEST SERVICE I HAD THE WHOLE TIME I WAS IN ORANGE BEACH THIS WEEKEND. OUR SERVER WAS SO AMAZING. I HATE THAT I CAN'T REMEMBER HER NAME, BUT SHE WAS ON TOP OF IT AND SUPER DELIGHTFUL. DRINKS The bar area looked really nice. Most of my table had iced tea which everybody enjoyed. I also got a beer from the Mississippi Gulf Coast. I was very impressed by their beer selection and they are a verified venue on the Untappd app so you can go to that app to look at all the beer selection and even filter and sort the beers so that you can have an easier time selecting the proper beverage. It was refreshing to see that it wasn't the usual cake like kind, plus not the ultra sweet kind either. More bread like with a hint of sweetness. Delicious. The fish and potatoes had a nice flavor but unfortunately the cold food spoiled the experience. Since I was a guest of my sister I didn't say anything about the cold food. What a disappointment. My advice, find a seat, have someone order at the order window, then head to the bar to order drinks. The wait to order food took about a half hour. It was very quick to get our drinks. We were able to snag a couch area on a platform. It was so comfy and we loved the views. A heads up- if you snag a couch like this, kids will get up on the platform and jump off of it. People will step up on the platform and walk extremely close to you. I had to ask a kid to stop throwing sand by us because we were eating our dinner. It was a little chaotic. We were extremely patient and understand, but I could see some people being very upset and annoyed. After ordering, our food came out pretty quick. I started with the coconut grouper bites and they were phenomenal. Light breading, lightly sweat, and flaky. I had the Gulf Grilled Cobia and it was phenomenal. The fish was tender, flaky, and light. No fishiness at all. The sauce on the fish was also delightful. My husband and son had the fajita skewers and both enjoyed them. My husband also had the peel and eat shrimp and said they were amazing at The Gulf. Our drinks were okay. We had better drinks at other places during the week, but they weren't bad. We would return, but try to come on an off-time that wasn't so busy.
