Wonderful experience here! Heidi was our server and she was amazing -- super friendly, personable and fast. With it being so hot, before our drinks got empty fast and Heidi refilled them so quickly before we could even ask. The food was great American food and the price was not too bad. We got the Zax Burger, Cobb salad and kids meal Mini Corndogs. The restaurant was clean and the air conditioning felt so good inside. Was recommended by a local for good pizza, I was super disappointed the garlic knots were hard and warm you can tell they've been sitting for awhile. We ordered a large pizza half Bbq Chicken and the other half Ramon the crust was good but the pizza was not. Veggies were thrown all over the pizza not fully cooked, the chicken for the Bbq chicken tasted like chicken from the sea aka canned chicken. Zax Restaurant is a fun place I love to stop and eat at when I'm in Moab. I got the Zack mac & cheese and it was really good. The noodles were a little hard though so next time I'm there I'll probably try something different. Every time I've been here it is always crowded so the service is a little slow on refilling liquid. The atmosphere is fun and they have lots of seating available. There is no parking so good luck finding somewhere on the street. read more

Went there for lunch on a Saturday. We were seated immediately and our service was excellent for the entire visit. The chicken wings were meaty and cooked to perfection. My wife's Cobb salad with grilled chicken was fresh and well prepared. My caeser salad was tossed to perfectly distribute the dressing and also was fresh with the perfect croutons to onion to lettuce ratio. Well done folks. read more

Omg! The food was so good! Traveling over the past couple of weeks, we found ourselves hungry in Moab and decided to check out Zax. I had decided no pizza until I walked in. The smell! My meat hobo or hobo meat was excellent. The fries are not great. The Azu with the meat hobo is great. I like that they have large beers instead of just getting a 16 ounce. We sat upstairs on the patio for dinner great venue. We sat downstairs outside on the patio for lunch and loved it My wife's pizza left a lot to be desired. Crust was bad, sauce was bad, overall taste was bad-and they talk about how great their pizza is. They should model theirs after Antico Formus where we went last night and their pizza is amazing-which is down the street. The first thing to say is that Esther is an excellent server. We had 4 couples at our table not sitting together and she had no problem understanding who was who and coordinating so that those who split a meal with something extra like a salad was taken care of easily. We ate upstairs and had a nice outside view or of baseball games on the TV set above our table. Two different couples ordered pizza and both liked the taste although there was less chicken on the BBQ chicken than usually found at other restaurants and although ordered, pineapple was not put on the pizza as requested. Note for those who are dairy free, they have vegan cheese! The couples that ordered burgers enjoyed theirs as well. Nobody had alcohol as it was lunchtime and as tourists we didn't want to drink at lunchtime. All in all everyone enjoyed the service, the view and the food. read more

It was a lovely dinner and worth more than the three stars it currently has on Yelp! Our waiter was a little strange (flat affect, lacking a smile or friendliness, but I think that's part of his background - not American). His service was good and prompt. My chicken sandwich was spicy but good! He got me a side salad instead of fries which I really liked and appreciated! My husband really enjoyed his pizza. The bill came out to $27, which seemed high I noticed they had added an 18% service charge for a simple take-out order -- something I wasn't informed about when ordering. This was the second time eating here while visiting Moab. Both times we had pizza and it was great! Today we tried the cauliflower crust and it was very good! I was shocked that there was no wait because the place looked packed! We also had a super attentive helpful server. He brought out a bowl to show how but the kid meal was and he brought out a sauce sample for another picky eater in our party. My daughter got a create your own pizza and said it was good and that she loved the bacon. My son got a buffet burger and also enjoyed it plus he said the fries were a nice texture. I'm on a diet and got a cauliflower crust garden veggie pizza with vegan cheese. I didn't like it but good vegan cheese is rare. I would say this place is good but not quite great. The staff was super nice and very helpful. The ambience was relaxed and felt between a sports bar and pizza spot. The fried pickles were hands down the best thing we had, give them a try. For a perfectly average pizza location with average waiters and disappointed hosts, it's fine for Moab. I'm not impressed and I find that my father would enjoy this place more than I would. The first time I was here I got the pizza to go and it was fairly good by itself, but going inside isn't worth it. If it wants to catch up to the times it should change some environment, menu and menu items. Also this place may need better management to inspire their staff again. Puppy Friendly Patio !!! (Huge!) There were dogs already there and we asked at hostess stand. Very friendly & accommodating staff. No more All You Can Eat Pizza. They said due to Covid. We had a great section to ourselves & the two pups. The hubs & I each got our own personal & split a side of fried pickles! A little salty but still tasty. Plain chicken breast for the pups.
