Went here for lunch after a dirt bike ride and it was just ok the service was not the best and the food was ok just average the best part of this restaurant was that it's a cool location on main street I would go again but it would not be my first choice read more

Great view from the top floor. Cold beer and good pizza. Just what we needed after a trail ride.

We were walking by and looked at menu. My husband wanted pizza and I'm Gluten Free because of a severe wheat allergy and autoimmune disease. They had GF Caulflower crust so we chose to eat here. The hostess sat us in the back corner that was very loud with large groups watching the soccer game. We asked to sit somewhere quieter. That was our first mistake because She begrudgingly moved us to a quieter table. We ordered a GF pizza. Someone from the kitchen delivered it to our table and said GF pizza. It turned out it was not GF and I had eaten a piece. I am allergic to wheat! We asked another server who checked and confirmed the mistake. Our server then brought out our actual pizza. No apology. Seemed to think it was no big deal. Nothing was discounted from our bill for this. Food and service are mediocre at best. Would not recommend and won't return. Since we were just visiting Moab that won't be hard to do. Staff should be better trained for this. It could be potentially life threatening. read more

Overall good service, great outdoor seating area and food was good. There was easy parking on the side street and it's in the heart of downtown. read more

The hotel recommended this place. I ordered the Zax Burger with medium cooked beef. The beef patty was cooked less than rare. The fries were greasy and salty. The pickle was fresh and cold -- perfect. The service was minimal -- I think I annoyed the person responsible for my table by being there. I realize that I walked in mid-afternoon and the staff probably would prefer to have a few hours of quiet before the arrival of the supper crowd. Maybe she was having a bad day. The facility in itself was clean and well maintained; however, the staff doesn't seem to embrace the vision of excellence that the owners probably have. I will be driving through Moab in a couple of weeks and may give Zax a second visit. If the calibre of service and food quality has improved, I will update my review. read more

Pizza was mediocre at best, who ever is in charge of staffing is not doing their job!! Sat down waited a while before the one server working the upstairs had time to come over as she had all the tables two or three of the tables were 10+ people groups. Not her fault she was swamped. We stayed but then were brought the wrong food and were not offered compensation for it. We knew if we sent it back it would have been another 20 minutes waiting for it. Should probably get more than one person to wait the whole upstairs. Having three bus boys and one waitress for that area seems a bit of a challenge. read more

We got there a little after they opened at 11 and had the restaurant to ourselves. We ate inside but they have a great seating area outside. We decided on burgers which they have a great selection of them. I chose the J. Buffet Cheese Burger and the sweet potato fries. The fries were delicious, crisp with a hint of sweetness. My burger was perfectly cooked and the bun was just right. In all our travels, this is one of the best burgers I've tasted. The server was helpful, and the service was fast. I highly recommend this place. read more

The food was way better than I expected after reading reviews. It is resort prices. But the pizza was great (all meat pizza) and the fries were delicious too. I would come again. Our server was quick with our food and kind. read more

The pizza is decent, wouldn't say incredible but not terrible. We got the Hawaiian and it was enjoyable. Keep in mind I'm a pizza snob from NY. Enjoy Neapolitan, Detroit style and of course thin crust. I would give the pizza itself a 5/10. Just keep in mind there's an automatic 15% fee if you take out. I always tip on takeout but this felt a little over the top. read more

Jokes on me for not reading the reviews on this place. Came in for dinner bc the menu looked decent and the outdoor seating looked great. My daughter got violently ill after eating the chicken tenders from here. The burger we got was so bland we probably would have had better luck at the McDonald's down the road. Honestly, save your money and find somewhere else. $150 for a family of 6 for it to be awful and cause our vacation to be ruined due to food poisoning. read more

This is for a take out review: After reading several reviews and craving pizza after a long drive, we chose this place. It was a 3 minute walk across the street from our hotel. We ordered a large with sausage, mushrooms and olives. And the Apple walnut salad. There was 2 of us. Simple right? The pizza was so bad I barely could eat one slice. It was undercooked, soggy, doughy and not tasty at all! Even the sauce was a big disappointment. The salad was the hit, but very small for $17 Spinach, chicken, fried croutons, candied walnuts and berries with a delicious salad dressing was enjoyable. I would not stop here again! Phone service was pleasant and food was ready in 20 minutes. read more

The bartender was awesome and the drinks and food was on point! Tony was the bartender and he was the best!

Wonderful experience here! Heidi was our server and she was amazing -- super friendly, personable and fast. With it being so hot, before our drinks got empty fast and Heidi refilled them so quickly before we could even ask. The food was great American food and the price was not too bad. We got the Zax Burger, Cobb salad and kids meal Mini Corndogs. The restaurant was clean and the air conditioning felt so good inside. Everything looked very clean from the waiting area to the bathrooms. We definitely recommend this place! read more

Omg! The food was so good! Traveling over the past couple of weeks, we found ourselves hungry in Moab and decided to check out Zax. I had decided no pizza until I walked in. The smell! Pizza was on point and more than enough for two people! Our teen had the BBQ sandwich and was in heaven. Service was wonderful; very friendly. We look forward to visit again! read more

Zax Restaurant is a fun place I love to stop and eat at when I'm in Moab. I got the Zack mac & cheese and it was really good. The noodles were a little hard though so next time I'm there I'll probably try something different. Every time I've been here it is always crowded so the service is a little slow on refilling liquid. The atmosphere is fun and they have lots of seating available. There is no parking so good luck finding somewhere on the street. read more

The first thing to say is that Esther is an excellent server. We had 4 couples at our table not sitting together and she had no problem understanding who was who and coordinating so that those who split a meal with something extra like a salad was taken care of easily. We ate upstairs and had a nice outside view or of baseball games on the TV set above our table. Two different couples ordered pizza and both liked the taste although there was less chicken on the BBQ chicken than usually found at other restaurants and although ordered, pineapple was not put on the pizza as requested. Note for those who are dairy free, they have vegan cheese! The couples that ordered burgers enjoyed theirs as well. Nobody had alcohol as it was lunchtime and as tourists we didn't want to drink at lunchtime. All in all everyone enjoyed the service, the view and the food. read more

Meh. Adequate food, dog-friendly, noisy. Good service, though. -- Food ** Hummus was flavorless and soupy. Confused how wrong they got it. Served with 5 pieces of vegetable and a full (yet flavorful and crispy) pita. Reuben was short on meat and sauerkraut, heavy on fries. The meat was good, the sandwich was just unbalanced. If you love carbs, this is the place. -- Ambiance ** For what it is, a casual place to eat, it was fine. Scored points for being dog friendly. But the road noise tainted it for me. -- Service **** Despite the meh food and experience, the service was very good. Friendly and fast. -- Value *** Cheap, but you get what you pay for. A fast, cheap, okay food eatery. read more

Service was horrible. Food was terrible. I ordered a chicken sandwich and the bun was frozen in the middle. Server said he get another one (bun only) mind you. Came after my husband's lukewarm dinner was eaten as much as he would endure. Server couldn't care less when we told him. We are locals and won't recommend to people. read more

Was recommended by a local for good pizza, I was super disappointed the garlic knots were hard and warm you can tell they've been sitting for awhile. We ordered a large pizza half Bbq Chicken and the other half Ramon the crust was good but the pizza was not. Veggies were thrown all over the pizza not fully cooked, the chicken for the Bbq chicken tasted like chicken from the sea aka canned chicken. The service was great the waiter was very friendly and the house margarita was good. read more

A pleasant surprise! We originally tried to go to another restaurant, but that didn't work out, so we were hungry and ended up at Zax. It was a lovely dinner and worth more than the three stars it currently has on Yelp! Our waiter was a little strange (flat affect, lacking a smile or friendliness, but I think that's part of his background - not American). His service was good and prompt. My chicken sandwich was spicy but good! He got me a side salad instead of fries which I really liked and appreciated! My husband really enjoyed his pizza. The restaurant was large, clean, inviting and service and food was prompt! We even said we would go back if we couldn't find another restaurant the next night! Yum! read more

In Moab? This is a great choice. The mango habanero wings were delicious. Pizza is great too!

Went there for lunch on a Saturday. We were seated immediately and our service was excellent for the entire visit. The chicken wings were meaty and cooked to perfection. My wife's Cobb salad with grilled chicken was fresh and well prepared. My caeser salad was tossed to perfectly distribute the dressing and also was fresh with the perfect croutons to onion to lettuce ratio. Well done folks. read more

Stopped here to grab dinner. To our delight they have a dog friendly patio area. For that alone they get 5 stars. The patio is also heated for those cool desert nights. Our food was good. Be sure to try the sweet potato fries! The onion rings were good also. Service was fair, tbh it did take a little while to get water and to order but after that it was great. Also the menu has tons of options. read more

They charge 15% gratuity automatically to all to-go orders. Why are customers required to tip when picking up their own food?

My meat hobo or hobo meat was excellent. The fries are not great. The Azu with the meat hobo is great. I like that they have large beers instead of just getting a 16 ounce. We sat upstairs on the patio for dinner great venue. We sat downstairs outside on the patio for lunch and loved it My wife's pizza left a lot to be desired. Crust was bad, sauce was bad, overall taste was bad-and they talk about how great their pizza is. They should model theirs after Antico Formus where we went last night and their pizza is amazing-which is down the street. The staff here is great minus the one hostess, who wanted to sit us on the patio behind a tree when we asked for something else she copped an attitude. read more

The other low ratings are legit. We gave this place a chance for dinner and walked away disappointed. Our waiter was attentive, but the busser stood over our table waiting for us to pack up our two kids (even though the restaurant was slow and they weren't trying to turn tables quickly). The pizza dough was mediocre at best. Will not be returning and wouldn't recommend. read more

Food was fantastic, as was the service! One of the best meals we had in Moab for lunch! Would recommend!

The best part of Zac was the pizza and salad buffet. They did away with it a few years ago. Due to that we have never returned back.

We were walking around Moab looking for a place to get a drink that was not our hotel. Oddly enough, a few restaurants we popped into were closing on a weekday night. Walking further, we found Zax and took seats at the bar. We just had beers but it was what we were looking for that night. We can't comment on the food but noticed a few others still ordering meals and I be they were glad the kitchen was open. Our bartender was quick and efficient with our service and bill payment. We're glad we stopped in. read more

The pizza in our to-go order was not cooked, it was literally cold in the center and yet, somehow, they managed to cook the cheese and toppings. Cold pizza, nearly raw dough. Just awful. read more

Disappointing Take-Out Experience - Surprise Fees Went here only because Antica Forma was closed. I placed a to-go order for an individual pizza with four toppings. The bill came out to $27, which seemed high I noticed they had added an 18% service charge for a simple take-out order -- something I wasn't informed about when ordering. The experience felt overpriced. Would not recommend for take-out, especially when better options like Antica Forma are nearby and far more transparent. read more

Overall meh, but prices were fantastic. We all agreed that there was a twist on the salads and we would have preferred the originals... example.. the Caesar salad had tomatoes and a different dressing. And the Cobb came with a honey sauce. Ok, but not when I was in the mood for a Caesar salad. We were able to bring the dog on the patio so that was great for traveling and they had mist sprays as well. Parking is available on the street. read more

Food was terrible. Grilled vegetables smelled like an old cooking oil. Coleslaw was very "tired". Steak was just bad. Burger buns were wet and burger patty was charcoaled. Fish and chips were really oily, like too much. read more

I'm just picking up a pizza and garlic knots for takeout, and they automatically added a 15% gratuity for simply handing over the pizza, which wasn't even hot. Plus, the garlic knots didn't come with the marinara sauce.
