Ordered a couple of beers, the tree hugger pizza, and it all met our needs Just an average spot on the main road in Moab but the pizza was full of flavor and we both were satisfied with it! Variety of beers on tap to chose from as well. Servers are all wearing masks, tables are spaced apart and sanitized and sanitizer is provided in many parts of the restaurant for you to use. I hate giving 3 stars because the staff was so sweet. The food isn't bad, but it isn't great. It's not very flavorful but the price is good at least. I don't think I would go back. We tried the steak which we had to send back to be recooked to be more rare, pizza which was ok but not great. The fettuccine Alfredo had no flavor but the texture was nice. Pizza was awesome. Server was a nice gentlemen with glasses. I think he said he was from Istanbul. Probably one of the best servers we had during our whole trip in Utah! He was very informative of the area. We also liked that he was unbiased about specific items sold on the menu. We were provided with great recommendations! The beer was delicious too. Stumbled upon this gem while going thru downtown Moab. It was a hot day and we were looking for some lunch and a break from our road trip. Parking is a little tricky - it's street parking only - no parking lot. Went in to be seated and we were asked if we wanted inside, outside or roof. Say what? Let's do roof! We get up there and they have tons of seating up there - it's own salad bar and heating station for pizza. There's a TV to watch sports. They had the misters going, so combined with the breeze, it was totally enjoyable despite the 95 degree heat. Our server, Sam - was a delight. Ordered Zax's Lager - made there in Utah - yum~ Mom had a Reuben sammy - tons of meat and the bread was delish. I had the Club sammy - had the right amount of all ingredients. After a morning if trail riding in our Jeep we thought we would check out a local spot. Sara picked Zach and I was glad she did. They have a good salad bar with two (2) different soups. Clam chowder and beer cheese. The beer cheese was very good. The clam chowder should of been called potato chowder. There weren't any clams to be found. I stirred the soup vigorously and just clam up with potatoes . Dint get me wrong the potato chowder was good but it just should be called that. The salad bar had a lot of options and dressings. It was fresh and good. The place was busy because they also have all you can eat pizza bar too. Sorry, no pizza today. It's not Sunday (Cheat day). The atmosphere was very Moab and it was clean. I'll go back and try to make it on a Sunday. What an amazing place for a beautiful 75 degree afternoon. We were seated right away, able to sit in the rooftop area and take in all the views while we ate. My husband and I shared a small tree hugger pizza and the onion burger because I couldn't decide which one I wanted. I still don't know which one I'd pick because both were outstanding!! The pizza had an excellent balance of flavors, with a tasty crust that was perfectly crunchy yet chewy. The onion burger was cooked slightly more medium than I'd prefer but again, the flavors made this something to easily look past. I will always go for the sweet potato option for French fries if available and they were the perfect sweet pairing for the savory burger. Our server was also kind and attentive. The service at this establishment was fine. We were seated on the upstairs patio which was a very nice atmosphere. It had plenty of shade so it wasn't too hot and the fresh air was nice. I ordered a large spinach and sun dried tomato pizza. The toppings including the cheese were of high quality which elevated the pizza. My one slight complain is that there is slightly too much cheese and it weighs down the pizza once it is no longer super fresh. To drink I got a tall PBR which paired nicely with the artisan style pizza. The meal was reasonably priced costing me roughly 35 dollars for the large pizza and drink including tip. I would highly recommend stopping to eat here if you are ever in Moab. read more

We visited Zax for their Thanksgiving dinner while we were in Moab. The restaurant was pretty crowded and loud that evening (not surprisingly) but I felt we were served in a reasonable amount of time, all things considered. Overall everything was really good, the food was great quality and put together nicely. The honey chicken pizza was really good, surprising to have sweet with chicken on pizza but it worked well. The only reason I did not give five stars is due to price, for a family of six for lunch we were into it about $110 before tip. Some of the obvious things like kids meals and drinks were a little bit more expensive than typical.
