They are very disorganized/possibly fraudulent. Ordered an item on sale to be shipped to store. UPS says they shipped it and its signed for. Zara online says they're waiting for it. Phone customer service(CS) sent them an email asking whats happened, no reply from store. Walked down to store 4 days after UPS says they delivered. Store manager checks and says they haven't received it. He cannot explain the discrepancy w/ UPS or why they aren't replying to mails from phone CS and offers a refund to which I say I'll wait. 2 days later I get an email saying I can pick it up. The day after that I get an email saying my return has been accepted. Phone CS acknowledges item is lost so they refunded. I say "why tell me its available for pick up and that ive returned it when I never collected it". Hunch is they're trying to pass off a bad customer experience as a good one and that I didn't like the item. read more

Worse customer service ever! I was gifted a shirt for my birthday from my cousin; however it wasn't my style so I wanted to exchange it. The customer service rep returned it onto the original card and stated the online purchase policy only allowed them to return it back onto the original card. Not only did they refuse to exchange my birthday gift, Zara wouldn't allow me to get my shirt back. If I had known that was their online return policy, I would have kept my birthday present! The Zara rep stated I had the box, receipt, and everything so he assumed I purchased it myself. Zara not only wastes my day off, but they confiscated my birthday present. WATCH OUT WHEN YOU SHOP AT ZARA AND MIGHT NEED TO RETURN SOMETHING! I purchased a sweater for $25.90. I didn't have time to try in on, and when I did try it, the style was not good for me. I took it back right away, and assumed the receipt was in the bag. When I got to the store, I discovered the receipt was not in the bag. I would have been fine with a store credit since they don't have the system most stores have where they can track your sale with your credit card. But to my shock and disappointment, they said I could only exchange it for the THE SAME ITEM in a different size or color. :-(( After getting a manager and getting no where, I exchanged it for a different color and left. I said I would be looking for the receipt and if I found it, I would be back. I found it, came back and was told since I exchanged it, that made it FINAL SALE, so having the receipt didn't matter now, and I'm stuck with a sweater I will not wear. The staff was matter-a-fact, and I steamed out after telling them and anyone that could hear I will not be back. I spent my entire career in Retail, and always let my staff use common sense when it comes to breaking policy. Over a $25 sweater, it has cost you my business, 50 + people I will tell the story to, and whoever will read this rant. I will be donating the sweater to Mary's Place. read more

I'm not really sure who Zara is trying to appeal to. They certainly don't provide good options for men. They're not cheap like H and M and they're not stylish like J Crew. They're somewhere in the ugly middle - expensive clothes that are kinda tacky. They go for a certain shock factor with some of the pieces, using leopard prints and the like. I admire this in principle, but they don't generally execute with much finesse. Other of the pieces, like the jackets, end up feeling soulless and bland because there's nothing distinctive about them. If you're young and you care about how you look, there are a whole range of other places that offer better style and/or better value. read more

But the sales representative and her manager told us that they can't do it. And we have to send an email to their customer service dept. I am a frequent shopper at Zara. I love their clothes and have always had a great experience. I recently purchased a number of items, went home to try them on. Kept what I wanted to keep and returned what I didn't. After returning the pieces I didn't want I threw away my recipe because I was content with what I was keeping. I went to wear one of my new tops the following day and noticed there was a hole in it. With tags still on and never worn I knew Zara would take it back. I proceeded to go to the store to return or even exchange. Long story short the staff would not take a damaged product back, WITH TAGS and would not even exchange. And also told me I could only exchange for the same top different size. So I'm supposed to purchase the same top in a size that doesn't fit me??? That makes zero sense. I can't help but think about Nordstrom's customer service and how they would take a damaged top no questions asked. I left the store frustrated for this top was for my birthday and left with a damaged top. It's a shame a retailer makes you keep a damaged product that's out of your control just because you don't have a receipt. Horrible horrible customer service. read more

Well I spent my whole lunch break at this store and not by choice. The Line to the dressing room was ridiculously long (at least 10 mins) no since of organization. Then after choosing one shirt I rushed to the check out line which seemed to be short enough. Maybe 3 people in front of me with 2 cashiers but i still spent 20 mins standing in line. the cashiers had no sense of urgency! Now I could has possible looked over both of these thing had one person in the store greeted me, ask if I need help, or even simply apologize for any inconvenience. unfortunately all the employees gave off a I'm to good to speak to you vibe. completely disappointed and wont be shopping here again. I've been waiting for this location to open for the longest time. I dropped by during my lunch break for the opening day and the store was packed as suspected. The layout is well done with what I expect from Zara; clean, simple, organized and fasion forward. I am a bit dissapointed with the mens section of the store; I've been to the 5th Ave flagship in NY, Soho, Broadway and both Vancouver locations. From my opinion on the mens section only; I felt it to be very bare and they didn't have some of the essentials I was expecting from other stores. Poor and abusive customer service. I was harassed by three staff members for trying on shoes and clothes on the sales floor but no one offered to set me up with a dressing room. They were swarming around me like angry bees and one of them insisted on their 'rules of conduct' as if we were in a courthouse or such. Rude as fuck. Stood at "man" department's cash register waiting to check out. Same employee walks by us twice, makes eye contact and keeps walking. SO EXCITED THAT ZARA CAME TO TOWN...couldn't wait to start shopping here. Merchandise is great, it's reasonably priced, and the location is outstanding. BUT SERIOUS DINGS FOR CUSTOMER SERVICE...I know they're new and the staff is likely still learning but I was sort of shocked by how bad their sales staff was. Two examples... I was in a dressing room and needed a smaller size. I caught a staff member as she was leaving another dressing room (no one checks on you) and asked if she could get it for me. She said with disdain "well...I'll see if I can find a sales staff to help you..." Wow...sorry to offend. Later, a purse I had bought online had begun to fall apart prematurely and clearly had flaws. I had deliberately waited until the store opened so I could return it to a location as opposed to online. When I showed it to the person at the checkout corner and explained about it falling apart...she stared at me blankly and then proceeded to check out the clothes I was buying. No acknowledgement I had said anything. I said again..."is there some process for returning items that aren't wearing well?" Again...blank stare. I started to wonder if something was wrong with her. Love the finds I've gotten here, although many things are just not anywhere near what I would wear and totally expensive. You have to hunt to get what you want, so don't plan on a quick in and out visit. The 2nd floor is generally much cheaper for women's clothes. You can't be afraid to try things on - the sizes are so varied. I'm typically a small in most Zara items, but I've purchased items from XS to L. The dressing room attendants are hit and miss. They never check on you but will sometimes be there to find another size. I love what I've gotten here so I manage my expectations. read more

Sooooooo pretty! As a lover of Zara, I was super excited they were opening one in Seattle. No more online ordering for me! The store is modern and clean, no haphazard piles of clothes. Zara returns policy makes it nearly impossible to return defective items. I attempted to return an item that I wore one time and it unraveled. Frankly, I am not used to refusal of returns by retailers as I am a very conservative about returning items. The item was a lace top and I cut the inside tag out before wearing because it is a white ribbon about 4 inches long and it was quite visible on the outside of the garment when being worn. Additionally, the inside label has an illustration of scissors and a perforation line, suggesting to the consumer they should cut it out! It was for that reason, I was denied the return (cut out label). I was handled by a very rude and condescending manager at the Seattle store. I noticed when I looked back when walking out, that this manager was laughing at me to the staff after I strongly expressed my dissatisfaction about being denied the return. I called him out on it and he responded by calling security on me all while clearly reveling in humiliating me. This young man has no business managing a retail store as he (apparently) is not there to help the guest at all, and, in fact, rather he has contempt for the customers. I have decided that this experience is a sign to me that Zara is not a place I want to shop anymore. It is a global giant and the prices are low for a reason. read more

Extremely poor customer service. Online orders do not come with right information for cashiers to accept returns OR the cashiers are not aware of what can be accepted for returns. On one instance I had logged into the Zara account to provide the cashier with the order number but he insisted to check my email (or vice versa). DO NOT EVER SHOP HERE!!! I had the worst experience at their Seattle store. I have never been treated so poorly from a retail store manager. I know his name but I will not post it out of respect. I bought a perfume thinking it was the one I smelled and tried from the tester but it was not. I only opened the plastic to see if it was not broken and was correct and it was the wrong perfume so I went back into the store to exchange because I had just bought it and they would not take it. I had bought the correct one as well and they would not even give me my money back. It was a $17 perfume and I am a full time college student who is low on money and could have used that money for a tank of gas. They completely treated me with disrespect. I even have pictures to prove it was the stores error not mine. Their tester bottles did not match the packaging and anyone could have made that mistake. My boyfriend and I enjoyed this store until this manager argued with us and would not even help us. If I were you I would not shop here because it seems like they just want your money. Most of their stuff is overpriced and even made from China. If they were a really good brand they would care about their customers. That manager is not a good representation of the company. This store has poor reviews and now I know why. Their reputation is dwindling. Put your money to better use. These were their displays. I had a load of clothes I was trying to find a place to put down and was told the register I had sat them down at was closed. I have been to Zara twice and neither time was I greeted or asked if I needed help by any of their dozen employees. Each time when I checked out I was in line for 10-20 minutes while just 2 people were on registers. The registers are located by the dressing room where you can see employees chatting it up with each other. It is infuriating! There is never any reason for 4 employees to be in a dressing room chatting when only 2 people are checking paying customers out. It seems like having a policy that is a garment is washed I can't be returned would be counterintuitive to repeat customers. Purchasing a shirt that shrinks after you wash it to the point that you can't actually physically wear it anymore, and their unwillingness to make sure you as a guest are satisfied by either exchanging or returning the article of clothing. Believe the reviews on this store. The customer service is HORRIBLE. I went shopping with a friend and picked out some clothes for my grandson. (By the way, the clothes were expensive but I hoped they would be good quality and last a while.) Finding a sales clerk close by, I was anxious to pay but she refused to help. Even though she was standing right there by a cash register she ignored me for a couple of minutes and then said "You have to go pay in the Women's Section." Luckily this was on the same floor but still. And guess what? When I got to the women's section two employees were chatting away with each other and pretended we weren't there for a few minutes too and then said "Oh, do you need to pay? This register is closed," with no further help offered or direction given. I promptly put my pile down on the counter in front of them and walked out. I'm honestly flabbergasted when a store makes it so difficult to give them money. Is this not your whole purpose? To sell things? Don't you want my money? Really great Euro style clothes for the price. It is pretty much a cleaner H&M. I definitely like the options better than H&M since they're better quality and always have some type of sale going since they're overturn is so fast. I definitely suggest going on a weekday since I can imagine the store gets pretty crazy and overrun with people during the weekends. read more

The clothes are great but man the people that work here are probably the rudest I've ever encountered. There's a lady with reddish short hair that yelled across the way as we walked out of the fitting rooms if we had brought our clothes with us, we were trying on clothes we ordered online. I had tried to ignore their non-service minded attitude every time I went there but last Friday was the end of it. One staff possibly a supervisor/manager reluctantly checked me out and tried to overcharge me twice. She didn't apologize or care to say anything about her mistakes, she was even being rude towards me and my friend when we corrected her. Absolutely unacceptable!!! I used to love shopping Zara clothes but coming to Seattle Zara put a bad taste on my mouth. The place is chaos, small and racist! My son and I went shopping at Zara last weekend after we meet in Seattle for breakfast but before we came in the store, we both saw the front security guard reading or looking on his iPad or something on his hand. I told my son they have men clothes too 'cause I don't want him to follow me around while I shop. After awhile, I saw that front security guard man with that wrinkled suit on his wearing walking but I never paid attention where he's heading to cause I was busy shopping. Then my son confronted me and pleading to leave the store immediately 'cause he's not comfortable being inside Zara store and I told him to just give me five minutes. So I made my purchase and before we left Zara outside doors my son was staring at this "security guard" and uttered "fit the profile huh"!!! I was confused at first but when we went to Urban outfitter store I confronted my son and asked what was that all about??? This Zara security guard followed my son inside Zara store told him he needs to check his bag; the bag that my son was carrying. It's a Goorins bag a wide open bag (not zipped) with our leftover food inside and knick knack foods that the owner of the restaurant personally give us inside the bag my son was carrying and then the Security guard furtherly told my son to take off his Pullover shirt 'cause he fits the profile of something whatever that is!! My son is of mix black American wearing a nice baseball hat and a College student in Seattle Pacific University. How dare he (Zara security guard) assumed my son to be a shoplifter 'cause he fits the profile???? I would have and came back to the store and file a complaint but my son doesn't want to go back and see his ignorant face anymore. Zaraless here!!! Never again I'll set foot on that store! read more
