I bought these shoes, have worn them about 5-6 times in the past year and they're already flaking. And it took forever to get these shoes since I was sold one size 10 and once size 11 shoe. The missing shoe of my size was at the NOLA store. It took over a mo th to get to me and they didn't even apologize for the inconvenience and made me drive to Seattle to pick up the shoe. Was willing to forgive and order again. Ordered $500 in shoes and they wanted to charge me $50 for shipping. I constantly emailed them questioning this huge fee with no response. Each section of the store is littered in vintage looking apparel and jewelry, and oh the litter is oh so nice and sparkles just so! Went in with my friend once and we were looking at stockings among other things, and she kept telling us..."If you want to look at the tights, just flip this thing up on the package if you want to see it. We were drawn into the store by the adorable dresses and great jewelry in the window. Immediately upon entering I was told I needed to hand over my backpack style camera bag. I get that theft is a problem in retail but my backpack contained some very expensive camera equipment and a large amount of cash. (I'm not sure HOW someone could shop lift in a store that is maybe the size of two large walk-in closets.) As trust goes both ways, I chose to leave the store instead of handing over my cash and equipment so I did miss out on seeing the rest of their inventory. read more

I could not wait for this shop to open! I was impressed by the window displays (see my photos) and noted that they are open every day from 12-6 PM. The manager Shay and her assistant (dolled up in 40's attire) were both very attentive to all the customers that entered the shop and very helpful! Diva Dollz carries corsets and pretty undergarments, wonderful vintage attire, accessories, jewelry and the shoes are so wonderful! Some of the pieces are consignment, while the shop also has their own line of dresses as well. You can find great vintage replicas here and if they do not have your size ask! Custom orders can be made on some of the merchandise. I have my eye on a pretty 40's red dress! My sister treated me to a wonderful summer dress that can be worn into the fall with a cute sweater and the right shoes! I love this place and can't say enough about it. Nicole, What you failed to look at was the day prior that we were in there over an hour looking and shopping. We were pondering some decisions overnight. And yes, your employee the day before was all about upselling and pushing things on my wife that she wasnt asking for. All those issues aside... you're deflecting from the main point which was the lack of the employee pointing out the "all sales are final" and no returns policy. I'd fully expect this on custom dresses or things that are made to order, but this was a prefab belt off the shelf in the store... no modifications. And yes, understand that over time you will have customers that are not satisfied. Thats part of being a business and there are forums such as yelp and others these days to voice dissatisfaction. You were not involved in the transaction so I can guarentee just from watching the video that you are missing some bits and pieces of our experience that could add clarity. As for the communication, it picked up only after a week or almost a week once we finally got a hold of you. Rather than trying to diffuse the situation, it went straight into defense of your brand and employees. I was first attracted to the clothes, but I ended up loving the entire experience. I will admit I was more than impressed with Diva Dolls. I am a plus size woman. I wear a 16-18 and weigh in around 200lbs. When I go in to these little boutique shops I am used to the cold shoulder by the staff. They look at me and typically think "Nothing we have will fit her." Then they ignore me and treat me with these superior attitudes. It really hurts as I am happy to spend my money. Diva Dolls did not treat me that way. They helped me find my size which is a 2x in their sizing. They helped pull the things in stock in my side for me to try. They even offered to custom order items in my size if there was something I liked, but was out of stock. Whoa! I honestly felt like a valuable customer to Diva Dolls. They found me a gorgeous belt and shoes to go with the dress I selected. I felt like a rock star in my new outfit. The dresses are not lined, but the fabric is thick and this is a non-issue. Diva Dolls focuses on pinup style dresses. The quality is better than your typical store brands. They reminded me of dresses my mother sewed me as a child and she was a professional seamstress. The cost is higher than a big box store, but I feel that it was worth what I received. Especially when you consider the degree of customized attention I received. I have wishy-washy, mixed feelings about Diva Dollz. While their window installations are gorgeous, I felt a little let down by the customer service when I meandered into the store. Granted, I probably looked extra frumpy and nerdy, in dirty jeans and wearing my very unglamorous laptop backpack (think more amazon-tech nerd than glamazon!), so they probably assumed I wasn't a serious buyer ... but honestly that's a total pet peeve of mine when I feel like I'm being sized up based on what I'm wearing! the (presumably) new-ish gal behind the jewelry counter was nice, if even a bit clueless about the store's inventory when I asked her about fascinators and thick leggings. She asked another gal who then pointed me out to some rather thin stockings and proceeded to try and educate me about how "all leggings are the same thickness" (which, FYI, isn't true! look up denier numbers! it's the measure of density/thickness of stockings/leggings/hosiery!) but I didn't feel like arguing with her so I just let her "explain." i think the store has very lovely inventory, and, if you kill the staff with kindess even if they take a snarky tone with you, they'll eventually soften up and warm up to you (from my experience). but really, I shouldn't have to feel like I'm being spoken to like an uncultured/uncouth ignoramus just because I'm not dolled up (no pun intended) when I enter the store :/ read more

If I could dress like the women that work at Diva Dollz every day, I would the happiest person on earth! They always looks so cute, so classic, so feminine and "put together". Diva Dollz has some awesome clothes. I tried on a few lacy dresses that i picked out, and the sales lady grabbed me some coordinating shoes, and a shawl, and a necklace and i wanted to buy it all! The shoes were so comfy for their height! (the brand is poetic license). I didn't end up buying anything the first time there, but my boyfriend went back and bought me a super cute 50's lavender dress, a blue crochet shawl, and blue frilly boy shorts. i can't deny that this is a fun store to look around in. but when it comes down to it, i felt as though i were in a brick-and-mortar modcloth.com or betty paige store. which basically means that there were tons of cute vintage era (40s and 50s mostly) style clothes but that the quality was hit or miss with mostly misses. lots of polyester and stuff you'd have to wear a slip with, but the prices don't reflect that. the jewelry was also forever21-esque at non-forever21 prices (much higher, of course). i'm usually not averse to spending a lot of money on something if i love it, but it just didn't happen here. they carry some cute shoes that are hard to find in person, but nothing you can't get from online for cheaper. though i suppose if you were interested in supporting local business, you should pay slightly more and get it here. overall, it was just disappointing but maybe i expected too much from reading the reviews here. read more

It wasn't that there was a lack of items, on the contrary, as other reviewers have said, it's chock full to the point of being a bit overwhelming, but for me, it was overwhelming in a good way. The help was abundant, I was checked in with at every turn and it was a pleasant - if a bit overwhelming- type of attention from the staff. When I first learned that I would be traveling to Seattle for work, I thought not of the superb coffee I would soon be drinking non stop. I thought of my return to Diva Dollz. No sooner had I dropped my bags off at my hotel, which I happily discovered was only a mile up the street, I made it to the store roughly an hour before closing. And for the next 90 minutes or so, I was attended to almost like royalty by the shop owner who went above and beyond to help me find not only a stunning satiny floral dress for a special occasion I had coming up, but to also the perfect cotton summer sundress with tropical flowers on it. Both fit me like a glove. But it's not like there were some sizing mishaps along the way. I'll get to that in a second. So you arrive and you browse the racks. The selection is incredible. Pick a dress or two that you like and hit the dressing room. But your shopping journey doesn't end there. Say you found a dress that seems AOK or not OK. You'd like to keep looking or maybe you're just going to go with the dress that seems right. Guess what? You don't have to settle because you'll be handed dress upon dress, skirt upon skirt, blouse upon blouse *and* "just the right shoe to match." So, you will be sure to find something just right. I was helped by the owner, who is clearly passionate about style, and retro style at that. This girl is a style maven and can size you up in a second to bring you something that will flatter you best. I don't think this kind of attention is too common nowadays in a store with affordable clothing. So, although I had intended to just come out of there with my special occasion dress, I found a dress that I soon realized I could not live without. I really did this store, when they are open! They only time I can go to the store is over my lunch hour, more specifically noon onward. Today, epic fail! I walked down from my office planned for noon opening but there is a sign on the door "Will open at 12:20 today". WHAT? Anyway there were two girls redoing the window. What you couldn't get to work earlier and do this? Walked over to another store in Pioneer Square and came back, only to see a sign that now read " Will open at 12:45". That's my lunch hour! GONE. This is no way to run a service based business. I walked to the store to purchase a dress that was in the window and maybe a second dress that was also in the window. The only good thing I can say is that since they have changed the display and I drive by everyday, the temptation to buy that particular dress will be gone. Not only are the store hours a crap shoot, so is the service. I've purchased items here ( love my corset!) and have been with friends here also, some of the girls are very friendly and helpful and other times they are more interested in looking "good", and certainly have no idea how to sell. Last time with a friend shopping here the girl rang up my friends purchase, never looked up and high tailed it into the back. There I am standing with a dress in hand and no one to ring me up. I wound up dropping a good chunk of change there, but it was totally worth it. All of their pieces are gorgeous and unique. I can't wait to go back and buy more! There are a lot of "retro" clothing companies out there who make a shoddy product-- all cheap stretch poly cotton and single-slit puckered seam skirts-- and who would love to dress you (for upwards of $100) like a reject pinup from a low-rent hotrod show. Avoid them like the plague... if your goal is to look like a real vintage pinup girl, you'll go with a softer, more feminine look, and that's where Diva Dollz comes in. The retro clothes that they carry are well-made, and the 30s-to-40s style dresses which primarily comprise their stock are carefully chosen. Shay of Diva Dollz is the only woman I've ever met who cares as much about the details of vintage fashion as I do, and she loves to discuss those details with you. The first time I ever went there, we chatted for over half an hour about the virtues of high-waisted skirts and which fabrics we preferred. And, it's not cheap. I bought a dress for a little over $100, and it wasn't the highest quality material. It was adorable and fit perfectly, so I had to have it. You need a blog, Diva Dollz, where you post your new arrivals. Then we'd know to come try on a specific dress and know our size would be in stock. Most of the dresses were tiny. Total tourist scam shop! Went here to get a gift for my wife for our 5 year anniversary, turned into an absolute nightmare. I stopped in on my way home from work and purchased a matching antique brass Kennny Ma (rather inexpensive jewelry online - I later found out) necklace and bracelet for a total of $325. Afterwards, I looked the stuff up and found out that it was marked up over double the online shops, however, it was unique looking and that had value to me + rent is expensive in Seattle so it was whatever. Note: Nowhere in the store does it say no refunds or 20% restocking fee. Turns out my wife is allergic to brass:/ So I went back to return the items. The girl working the counter was on her first day, she tried to be as helpful as possible, called the manager (Nicole) who was in NOLA at the time, but ultimately was only able to reiterate the ridiculous offer of a refund with %20 "restocking fee" - literally throwing some tags on. I could tell the new girl was super embarrassed and taken back having to tell me this. So Nicole wanted to charge me $65 for absolutely NOTHING!?! Literally we are talking about a return due to a medical condition. I was told to come back on a Thursday or Friday if this didn't work for me. I came back the following Friday and the elusive manager Nicole is nowhere to be found. I talk to the girl at the counter and explain the circumstance, she says that she is also a manager but will have to call Nicole about the refund? I asked to speak with her - nope. Basically, passes the same hustle over the phone and then relies on her employees having to say, "my hands are tied, sorry". Then I read all the reviews and realized that this place is a total scam shop. They mark up cheap stuff that's readily available online for 1/3 sometimes 1/4 of the price!?! The staff is kind and I feel bad that they have to deal with the backlash of people finding out how much they overpaid or when they're floored by a no refund policy-which basically doesn't exist anywhere anymore. Because I had to come back twice and they still owe me $65, I am considering a small claims suit for lost time + the amount owed on principle of how awful I was treated by the "phone manager". They theme based on era's (from about the 20's to the 60's or so) so you can get stuff in all sorts of prints, colors and styles from those eras you simply can't find anywhere else. I was so excited when I first saw this shop since I have a great love of vintage inspired clothing. My mother-in-law urged me to finally go in the store with a promise to help pay for one of the fabulous looking dresses I could see through the window. Oh how disappointed I was! The shop was freaking tiny! There were only a handful of other shoppers in there, but it felt like a mosh pit at a metal show. Not to mention it was a hot summer day and there was no air conditioning, just a wimpy little fan that didn't so much stop my pig-like sweating, just teased us shoppers with a hint of air . The actual contents of the shop are amazing. There were huge selections of accessories and corsets, and a fair amount of shoes and clothing for the tiny size of the place. It reminded me a little like a clown car where you think only one person will get out but somehow they have managed to fit 20 clowns in there. The boutique came with its own clowns too! The staff, while polite in greeting, were fools to deal with. If you even glanced at a handkerchief for more than a second they were there trying to sell you 50 of them and shoes and a corset....up selling, up selling, up selling. Then when you actually needed help they completely brush you off. The size selection is atrocious. I was looking for a halter-style dress, which there were quite a few of. However, every dress I wanted the staff informed me was unavailable in my size. I was confused because many reviews I read of the place said they could get sizes custom made....apparently a lie. The sales people just wanted a sale and kept showing me dresses in my size that were not even remotely close to the style I was looking for! So I stumbled onto this place completely by accident one afternoon. Being a fan of vintage-styled clothes I was delighted with the store and atmosphere. That was before I started looking at prices and wanted to cry a little as there's no way I could ever afford any of the clothes or shoes here. What still gives it 4 stars though is the stocking selection! I found stockings of just about every style or color you could imagine - woven patterns, rhinestones, every sort of fishnet. They are super affordable too, lots of 2 for $8 or $12 types of deals going on with them. This place even passes up Cap Hill as my go-to place for interesting stockings. Granted, Jan. 13 is probably the worst day to go visit a small store, retail stock being completely depleted from Christmas. I love vintage clothes and I love Stop Staring so I expected to love this place but they had one rack of dresses and one rack of shirts and skirts so it just felt a little limited. They didn't have any vintage clothes out (perhaps you have to ask to see them?) They did have an amazing array of extras. They were kinda low on frilly underthings, but they had a million corsets, stockings, parasols, purses and tons of beautiful jewelry. I took a group of 6 girls in here for the beginning of my friends bachelorette party. We were then heading up to see a burlesque show after. None of us were disappointed with the store. Both the bride and I found amazing dresses and neither of us are the easiest to fit. Neither of us is a size 2 and my friend is about 6'1" While she couldn't find any size 11 shoes, I found and fell in love with more pairs then I will ever need. As for the staff they were amazing. Extremely helpful. There is a little suggestive selling but they are completely open to you saying no thank you. It felt more helpful the pressured. All in all I can not wait to go back. I adore this store. I had been eyeing this store for weeks and finally went in just before Christmas. Now I own three dresses, two pairs of shoes, a custom corset and an assortment of accessories. The service is incredible. The girls who work the shop are absolutely amazing. I think I have dealt with just about all the girls now and found that they are all so sweet. I was just in today to find a second dress to accompany my brand new corset. This is not a store to look at for super deals but if you want quality well made garments they are your store. I look forward to a lengthy retail therapy relationship with them. read more

VINTAGE vava voom. Totally sweet vintage closet shopping that I happened to stumble into near Pioneer Square, didn't even realize this store was there! Moderate to kinda expensively priced, but I might actually be able to afford walking out of there with a super cute item without cutting of my arm to pay for it (not so cute). Shoes/Sandals soooo lovely. The girls who work there were super friendly and awesome and helped my friend and I pick out some shoes to try on with the dresses we picked out. Although it is not an extensive collection of shoes, what they have is definitely worth a peek. Quality over quantity! I think I remember them saying they test out the heels or shoes before they decide to sell them because if they can't wear them for style + comfort, how can they expect anyone else will! That's great. Other great stand-outs: Cute ruffly undies & Corsets. They can actually make you a fitted corset to your body to help 'form' your curves. Hmm. Nearly thought about it, but I'm not exactly sure how I feel rearranging my organs from the outside just yet. read more

I love Diva Dollz! One of my girlfriends and I were passing by after a baseball game a few years ago and she wanted to introduce me to her favorite dress shop. I got totally hooked. It's a little shop full of gorgeous dresses and loads of pretty accessories. The salesgirls who work there are incredibly attentive and great at picking styles that work with your figure. They also can help you accessorize shoes & jewelry and other little pretties, with the dress you're looking at so that even if you're not getting the accessories, you have an idea of what the dress will look like when you're all gussied up. The dresses are not cheap, but I think they're reasonably priced. The two I bought that first year have gotten a lot of wear for all kinds of different events and have held up beautifully. Beautiful store with beautiful, well made dresses and fantastic service - the best!! read more
