What a great high end consignment shop in a sea of Vintage Thrift shops of Seattle. The owner really does curate a great collection of designer pieces, but within those designers are the more interesting brands such as Comme Des Garcon, Rick Owens, Celene, Chloe, Ann Demeulemeester, and so much more. We had a blast shopping and chatting with the owner and her great staff, and of course, buying!! The prices are very reasonable, which makes the experience so much better! I came in here after being relatively loyal to another high end consignment shop in (the Refind) and getting fed up with poor customer service. I spent about 2 hours combing through their gems and was happy to have found an amazing vintage Christian Dior blazer. I was immediately helped; items out n the dressing room and treated kindly by the staff. I've since been in a few times and had consistent positive experiences. I recommend this place. They may not turn over the high volume as the other place but if you're just looking to find cool pieces I'd recommend trying out this place. read more

This is in the heart of the W. Lake Center area on a side street. So it's pretty easy to find. It's a nice size store with a variety of items from accessories to scarves to coats to hats,etc. The selection is amazing and if you're good at styling it you are definitely going to find pieces in here that you will love. A fantastic person named Ian welcomed me upon entering and I really appreciated how he managed to be low key and still totally attentive enough to keep an eye on my picks and get the dressing room set up for me. The store is beautifully laid out by sizing, color and types of items. Really well priced designer items abound. Valentino pants perfect for the season for about $160. I like checking out local consignment and resale shops whenever I'm traveling or on vacation. I looked up this shop and it came up as one close to the flagship Nordstrom's store with great reviews. It's located behind Nordstrom's and Nordstrom's Rack - you can walk behind Nordstrom's, cross the street, then turn left to head up the street. It's on the right side of the street going uphill. In terms of parking, you might get lucky and find street parking or you can find a lot to park in. I did the latter and walked in downtown. The shop is a nicely laid out space with a thoughtful curation of new, pre-loved, and vintage clothing and accessories. You can find designers like Chanel, Dior, and LV here, as well as some unique finds from Katharine Hamnett, Iro, and others. Prices range depending on the item, condition, and designer, but the pricing seems very fair. You're paying a fraction of the price for these classic designers and pieces and finding something unique. My mom saw a coat she liked but it wasn't a perfect fit for her. I found a Chanel coat from the 90s that was peacoat length and it fit very well with some room for layering underneath. I did ask if that was the best price for this coat and the gal called the owner to check. The owner offered me 20% off and I bought it. They do update their social media with new finds so it's smart to follow them to see what is new. They will ship to people if you're interested in something. If you're local, they have a rewards program where every purchase will lead to a percentage off your next purchase. Would definitely come back if I was in the area. read more

Had a wonderful experience with Alexandra's recently and look forward to returning here when I'm in Seattle next. I bought a couple clothing items and a pair of designer loafers. Though the loafers weren't in the best shape, the price reflected that and I thought I could still get some use out of them. After purchasing and wearing them just once, the loafers started to fall apart. I was not sure what to do and was sad to potentially have wasted almost $200. I reached out to the store and they were very empathic and understanding. After I shared the pictures and explained I just purchased the item a few days prior, they immediately reassured me they would figure out a solution and promptly offered to refund me given that the item was not usable. I so appreciate their costumer service and really liked the beautiful and generally very well taken care of items the store sells. I wish I had found them before my disco party this past fall because so many of those clothing items would have been perfect. I did not have a good experience shopping here and will not be returning. --Shopping here felt like rummaging through a Goodwill and the store kind of smelled like it--like old people. The only difference is once you find something you like, the item will be anywhere from 5x to 20x the cost of a piece at Goodwill. --Most of the fashion here is out of style. 80% of the clothes in here do not even look like designer...just plain ugly rejects with the designer label. --The clothes are priced nilly willy, some really expensive, and the original MSRP is quoted wrong. I bought a Giorgio Armani suit jacket for $300 used and I think I got ripped off. On Poshmark, used Giorgio Armani jackets only sell for around $150-$200. --Having second thoughts I tried to return the jacket and was told no returns. I spent about $700 here first visit but felt really bad about it afterwards. Retail therapy should feel good. Never again. read more

This shop is a breath of fresh air for the retail options in Seattle. Every piece here is of exceptional quality, from newer modern pieces to vintage to more formal. I took the time to really look at every piece and wanted so much to spend all of my money here. There's a selection of sizes from the very petite to the 12-16 size among us. Good variety in style, color and fit. I spent about 90 minutes in here and I will definitely be back. I found the cutest slip skirt at Alexandra's for like $20 that I thought I would only wear a few times but it's now one of the most worn pieces in my wardrobe. Everyone that works here is so sweet and show me the best pieces I would have probably skipped over on my own. They actually care about the pieces they take in so you honestly don't even have to hunt that hard or for that long through the racks before you find something you want to try on. Amazing little boutique with lots of finds ranging from designer to less expensive period peices. The prices were amazing- they had a whole rack of authentic kimonos for under $70 (they can go easily for double). This is a very big consignment store - one of the biggest I've seen (and trust me, I've been in a lot). There are a ton of shoes, purses (although most of those are in a case), jackets, skirts, blouses, pants, you name it. They carry high to very high end names here - think Burberry, Prada, Theory, Trina Turk, Louboutin, etc. I found their prices to be rather reasonable. I was lusting after a Burberry pleated skirt for around $100 but alas it was too big for me. They had a decent sale section in the back, and there were a lot of markdowns in red. I almost considered a Trina Turk grey wool jacket for like $30 but I had a feeling it would just end up unused in my closet. Even in the non-sale section, there are still markdowns to be found: I found a lot of pants, in particular, marked down (Prada black pants for $30!? These will retail $200+ no doubt). Sizes seem to be plentiful. I definitely found a big range here, from XS to XL. I didn't buy anything in this store, though. I do find that there's a lot of good labels here, but the styles seem to feel like the older ladies of the Upper East Side - you know, like Chanel suits, those kinds of styles. Which is nice, but I'm still a young 20-something so I want fun and frilly merchandise that appeal to younger women. Anyway, don't let that stop you from browsing the store. There is so much that I love about this place. The labels, quality, and selection are tops. The sales team is friendly and helpful without being pushy (a place that carries Vera Wang, Prada, etc., is typically the opposite!) Not only have I shopped here, but also sold a few items. They only take what they can sell, which is a refreshing change from other consignment shops. You get a detailed inventory via email, and then, a few months later, a check in the mail. I walked past this store during a family vacation and did not intend to shop at all, but could not help myself when I saw how cute the window display was. I ended up shopping here 2 days in a row and on the second day, I brought all my relatives and we all found so many things that we each loved. The selection here is so amazing and the prices began from as low as $20 for vintage and rare designer items. I found amazing essential closet pieces, and they have an amazing range of sizes. They literally have everything-my aunt even found a head piece for a derby event she was attending. The store owners and staff are so sweet and offered so much guidance-they also quick fix any items and sewed the hanging tags on the vintage knit Valentino sweater I purchased. We were in the neighborhood just this past February 2020 so, about 4 of us girls stopped in, it's under new ownership, we all found quite a few items & some of them were even marked down! Posting this regarding an awful experience my friend has had. She has been a loyal customer of this store for almost 5 years. A while ago she purchased what he was told was a genuine LV bag for over $1,3000. Recently she took the bag to an LV store to get it fixed and was told it was a fake. After multiple conversations with the owner, she went with the owner to the LV store in Downtown Seattle. The owner was also told that the bag was fake but LV offered to send it in to get it checked. Yesterday my friend received a letter confirming that the bag was in fact fake. She let the owner know who denied a refund and at best offered $500 store credit. The owner was unwilling to make things right even though Kyle friend has been a loyal customer. Business like this make me made and not want to shoo there. Deep breath, be cool. I attempted to hide from the personnel as I scooted in, sure they would sense my financial lack and give me the stink eye. I slunk around the backside of the racks, surreptitiously glancing at the price tags. Ye gads, $200 for a used Moschino sweater! Wandering through the store, which is fairly huge, the layout started to make sense. Garments were grouped by type, then by color but not by size. The racks by the door are everything black, just black. Then, day dresses on a rack, formals on the wall, racks of separates and then coats. And on the farthest back wall, Eureka, the clearance rack. Every store has one. Designer only, so no plus sizes. It would take hours to really shop this store thoroughly and the hubby was waiting, so I skimped. Also, when you know that literally everything is lightyears out of your budget, where's the fun? For someone else, such as the couple checking out who dropped $1,800 apparently without heart palpitations or anything, Alexandra's has an abundance of miraculous things. It truly was a pleasure to get a close up look at these incredibly well made garments. If you love designer, this is the place for you. A slick publication in Seattle recently ran a review of Seattle's consignment shops and where to get the best deals. They did not mention Alexandra's, which seems insane. For anyone with a high profile job in downtown Seattle, this is place to shop, absolutely. I have to give this store 1 star since 0 is not an option for the bad customer service given when the product (a Salvatore Ferragmo belt) was not authenticate. BEFORE, purchasing the belt, I SPECIFICALLY asked the store manager whom had been working there for over 20+ years, 1. How they authenticated their items 2. If an item proved not to be authentic, can I return it for my money back? These are TWO very important questions you should ask when doing consignment shopping and also very reasonable. The items are cheapER not cheap. So it's understandable that you're only scoring a great deal IF they are real, otherwise you've wasted money on a fake item. Her response was that they authenticate by doing their own research (online), from what they know to be true and also that the stores reputation and its consigners over the years have proven great quality. And then, I again ASKED her IF the item was not authentic, could I bring it back and get my money back and she said YES. Because we went to the store before closing, I purchased the belt trusting her and the stores quality. As a matter of fact, when she rung up the purchase she said that particular item had come from someone that had been consigning for a while. As a smart shopper/consignment purchaser I went home to do my own extensive research which included the following: 1st, a simple google image search, NONE of the buckles looked like the belt I purchased known to be an authentic Salvatore Ferragmo belt. I even checked older models 2nd, an online search of several forums of how to authenticate the SF belts. All forums said that their should be a serial number. This belt had absolutely no serial number on it (the strap or buckle). 3rd, my friend works at Salvatore Ferragamo. NOW, I would not be writing this review IF they had easily accepted the return for the belt as promised literally the night before. However, they were upset with my aunt when she came in and questioned how it was UN "authentic" and gave her unnecessary trouble. Ummm Google? It was simple and obviously not checked like they had mentioned! You shouldn't have to feel like that from any top quality brand store, consignment or not. These are small boutiques and the service is heavily part of the overall experience. Although this store is big, beware of their items!!! My boyfriend and I were visiting Seattle from Brooklyn, had no intentions on thrift/vintage/consignment shopping, and then we stumbled upon Alexandra's. Whenever I visit Seattle I have to return home with a new kimono, which Alexandra's had an awesome array of so many unique ones (my bf almost bought one as well). The whole time while shopping my bf and I exchanged so many "oh my god"s and "this quality? At this price?" because we just can't find such eclectic, quality items of clothing at an AMAZING price (like what it's actually worth, not overpriced) at the thrift stores in BK. Our experience at Alexandra's jumpstarted a whole vintage thrifting adventure throughout Seattle, which was not in our plans at all! The hip ladies behind the counter helped us out with thrifting advice, where to go, and we basically became friends at the end of our encounter. I have been a customer at Alexandra's for many years, they always have beautiful and authentic items. The owner is lovely and always helpful, offering to keep an eye out for items I am interested in. Reading a prior review, I was surprised bc I have purchased MANY authentic bags from this store over the years and every single one has been authentic. It is also surprising that the review indicated that a LV store would comment on the authenticity of a bag as it is my understanding that LV's store policy is to not make those judgments under any circumstances ( I took a bag to LV in Seattle a couple of years ago that was given to me as a gift and subsequently needed a repair and they were very clear that they do not authenticate bags). I love consignment shops, and I was really excited to come here. I spent no more than 20 minutes in the shop, because I was not that impressed. When I first entered, one of the shop owners greeted me with a warm hello, the other one not so much. Secondly, not much designer clothes for girls in their 20s. I was really hoping to see a lot of Nanette Lepore, Theory, D&G, Diesel, DKNY, Karen Millen and unique Seattle designers, but there was not that much. Most of the clothes seemed dated (even though in great condition). They do have a decent selection of shoes and accessories and some cute scarves. But I did not find anything that I was dying over. I thought it was even pricey for designer consignment. Not well organized, I was hoping to see racks just for one or two specific designers, instead organized by type and that is it. read more

This is a large store full of dated designer clothes, shoes and accessories. I looked through most racks at it took over an hour. If it had 50% less items on the floor it would be a much more enjoyable experience. There were few items that I would have tried on if it were in my size. I did try on a Burberry wool coat that was beautiful but too small. I agree with other reviewers that this is for an older crowd. I did score a chunky pearl necklace (costume I think) for $40. If I am walking past some other time I would go back, but would not make a special trip. read more

I love Alexandras. Some of my most cherished clothing items and shoes have come from this designer Mecca. If Renee is working she can pick things out quite quickly if you let her know what you are looking for. Great place to get suits because they have tons to select from. Remember that if that Armani is not fitting quite right you can always take it to the tailor and have something that will withstand the test of time and not the whims of the season. I also love their Bakelite selection of bracelets and once in awhile I have been known to buy a designer purse or two..:) Also, the prices go down the longer something sits there so I have on occasion left a piece or two and put my chances in fate to see if it will be reduced next time I go in.
