Friendly staff. The clothes aren't my style, and neither are the sizes. (which are VERY hard to decipher, btw. I hate having to ask how much an item is but it just wasn't clear. The tags and labels are both hard to read.) The last time I went, most of the items were petite, and the ones that weren't were XL. That just doesn't help me, unfortunately. I saw comments about the staff being snobbish - and I would prefer commenters mention distinct behaviors rather than label people. My experience is that they leave you alone to shop but will help if you ask. They don't ooze with chitchat - but are helpful. Yes you have to make an appointment to consign but that doesn't seem like a reason to give a 1-star rating. They have an easy consignee portal where you can check the status of your clothing and sales.

It was great seeing the updated posts leading to their grand opening today in West Seattle's Admiral District (7/8/23). Traffic was merciful on I-5S through downtown Seattle to get to the West Seattle Bridge. Street parking was a challenge near the busy intersection of Admiral and California, but patience pays off with a free spot with two hour limit. Lots of amenities, retail, cafes, and restaurants all in proximity. I was warmly greeted at the entrance and it sure was filled with happy shoppers and browsers, like myself. I love how each table, shelf, wall hanging were thoughtfully curated. Eye catching displays. Great gift and home decor ideas. Clothing and accessories that would excite your need for well deserved retail therapy. I tend to favor local, indie businesses, so wishing them all the best at Hoste. Practically all of the clothing is geared towards women. I saw plenty of cool stuff though. Steve saw a great leather jacket but it wasn't his size or cut. But despite all of that the inventory here is really great and some of the items are real gems. If you are into vintage clothing shops definitely swing by and take a peek.

A majority of the clothing is definitely female-based but there's still a decent-sized men's section, and I (a guy) managed to find what I needed to complete my fit. They had a ton of sports and music related vintage t's ranging from affordable to not so much (for me anyway!) The fitting rooms use curtains instead of doors, which isn't my preference, but they still felt private enough. I ended up getting a pair of shoes for $28. I did see a dress from Shein priced at $24, which felt a bit high. That said, they have a great mission (100% of profits go toward helping victims of sex trafficking) so I don't fault them for it.
