I read somewhere while I was looking for places to shop for men's clothing that they had a selection of men's clothing in addition to women's. I happened to be on a walk today and since it was in my path, I decided to step in. As I walked in, there were three ladies chatting, one or more that worked there, that glared at me and didn't ask if I had any questions and continued their conversation. I don't want to presume what was going through their heads, but judging by the looks I received, I can't be for certain. They had no idea why I was in there. I could've been there to buy something for a friend, in my case, thinking that there might be some men's clothes there, etc. is disappointing that West Seattle small business seems to have forgotten traditional business practices of welcoming, whoever walks through their door. This is a cute consignment store in West Seattle. Prices seemed to be in the $13-$20 range for most items. They had a lot of sweaters and tops as well as an assortment of shoes and bags. I saw some jeans too for sale but I already have too many! They did have a nice rack where stuff was either 50% off or even $3 if it had a red dot. Review is for shopping experience only, not consignment. Whenever I'm in West Seattle, I'll stop by Cherry Consignment. I feel it has a better selection of items I'm actually interested in than Funky Jane's or Many Moons Trading Co., although those shops are worth visiting as well. Scored a Marc Jacobs tote for $14 once and on my last visit, a pair of Dr. Scholl's sandals for $12. Clothing is well organized and the price point is more than reasonable. The owner is friendly, helpful, and very knowledgeable about her stock. read more

I would not consign here again. I had items missing and the person shrugged her shoulders and said well it wasn't me who checked you in. It matched the disorganization of after telling me my clothes had been pulled not being able to find them and asking me to go through the back room to look for them. I was also told I would receive one amount of money and when I arrived they gave me less. read more

Its kind of like the high end version of consignment. You'll find such brands within these walls as talbots, gap, venezia, eileen fisher and more. There stuff is pretty cute overall. The buyer here obviously has some amzing sight for clothing and styles in general, even the purses were well chosen. And everything was extremely clean and pristine. A big bonus for them was that they carried plus sizes AND a small mens section. Their prices were a touch high but for the name brands they had I do not blame them for taking advantage. read more

This is my GO TO place for casual and special events! Great pricing, awesome service and fab selection for men and women! This week was a hectic week and I couldn't find a dress for the SIFF Red Carpet! I should have gone to see Nyla in the first place, instead of going store to store downtown. Once I came to my senses and went to Cherry, Nyla helped me find not one but TWO amazing dresses. I decided on one and rocked the carpet in style. Decided to stop in on the hunt for some end of summer scores and left empty handed. Upon entry, the shop just looks cramped and unorganized. I browsed all of the racks which are basically set up into categories of dresses, tops varying sizes, athletic wear, shorts and pants and then a lot of shoes strewn all over the floor. In searching through the racks I found a lot of target brand items, forever 21, old navy...items that are already so inexpensive and generally not great quality to last I wonder why consignment places allow such an over abundance? But in any case, I kept searching for that diamond in the rough but fell short. I tried on a few items but nothing was really calling my name sadly. I did notice a small amount of free people and DVF mixed in, personally those are the higher ticket items normally that I'm seeking out when consignment shopping...not something that was $24 at forever 21 that's now $14, not a deal. Hopefully they'll consider overhauling the set up and maybe getting some higher end (or just mid level) items in, and I'll try again. read more

The real difference between consignment stores, in my experience, is the service. As someone who desperately needed to get rid of good-quality clothing so I could afford groceries (earlier in 2013), I greatly appreciate Cherry Consignment. They were nice, helpful, and cheery. They accepted as many of my outfits as they could, and explained to me why they rejected the others. They let me cash out a week after my contract ended, so I wasn't all pressured. They *remembered me*, after 3 visits. As a consumer, they have a good selection of classy-to-trendy styles for the 30/40-something woman, plus cute accessories from local designers. And they're pretty involved in the community, which is always a plus. read more

Like most consignment stores, a lot of things in here are a hit or miss thing. But I almost always find something I like there. Prices are really good considering the brand names for the most part. I get most of my brand name jeans here now. read more

This shop is probably the best consignment store I've ever consigned with! I've been consigning here for 4+ years and couldn't recommend it more. I've consigned at so many places over the years and have lost count of them, but Nyla, the owner, is a professional. Very efficient processing of your items, and never any doubt that the clothes will be returned and promptly and your payment is produced immediately at end of consignment period. She is welcoming, helpful, and goes above and beyond making sure customers and consigners alike receive excellent service. While sometimes its intimidating to bring clothes in to a shop to consign (especially shops you haven't been to before), there is no reason to worry here. I can't say enough good things! The shop items are full of adorable clothes and accessories and at prices that are very reasonable. It looks like a nice boutique and not a standard consignment store. Parking is usually pretty easy to find in front. It is not only a gem for West Seattle, but the entire Seattle area! read more

I went into this shop to buy a shirt for work, as soon as I walked in, there was a strong smell of body odor coming from the back. I purchased an extremely overpriced top against my better judgement because I was in a hurry and needed something. I didn't get a mile down the road before the entire car smelled like FISH, smelt the shirt and that was the culprit. I went right back and kindly explained the situation and the counter girl told me they don't take returns and that she didn't smell anything, so basically accused me of lying for absolutely no reason ‍. I left the shirt there and left without getting a refund because literally it was so bad I didn't even want to get it home to wash it. As a consignment shop I find it truly disturbing that you would allow your store to smell like b.o, not wash clothes as they come in then deny a refund for a super valid reason. So disappointment and annoyed. read more

Erin was verbally abusive on the phone and in person. As the west Seattleite, I am disgusted. I called her to tell her that I have fibromyalgia and am plus sized and I have a lot of brand new items that I wanted to give and they're all brand new coats, dresses, tops. She was very rude on the phone but I figure everyone deserves a second chance and maybe she was different in person. They were not wrinkled although she claimed that they were. She said that their policy was to bring hangers so I did bring hangers and was rushing there so I brought the hangers in to hang them when I was in the store. But then when I brought the hangers and started hanging them and I told her that I had fibromyalgia and I started hanging the items, she said that I needed to have the hangers before I walk in the store because "that is just their policy". I told her I had a chronic illness and that I just had limited time and I wanted to hang then when I was in the store. So I asked her if I could hang them when I'm outside of the store and then bring them in...and she said, "NO, that is okay". Then she claimed that the first coat that she pulled out was wrinkled but it wasn't. What a snob and a miserable human being. When I have a beautiful, designer clothes that she claims are wrinkled when they are not just because she is discriminating against me...Then something is wrong. I called her a limousine liberal, West Seattle elitist snob and that is exactly what she is. Good luck getting business when you treat people like utter shit. read more

I took in many items that were designer labels (Chico, Ralph Lauren) I was asked if I wanted to donate the items after 90 days if they did not sell and I said "no" . I would try craigslist if they did not sell. I was told to call after 90 days and that they would have a check for the items sold or I would be given the clothes back. After 90 days I went in to find that nothing had sold and that everything had been donated because they were not able to sell them. I have a feeling that all items sold but I have no proof. I left a message for the owner to call me, she never did! I will never shop there! read more

I love Cherry! Nyla and her staff are fabulous. I started shopping at consignment stores a few years ago, trying to be more thrifty, spend less. I discovered Cherry right in my neighborhood - and now that's pretty much the only place I shop for clothes for myself! Nyla helps me put together outfits - which is a shortcoming of mine. My daughters love to shop there as well. The clothes are higher end name brands and great quality. I highly recommend this jewel of a store! read more

My daughter and I shopped here last Friday and I'm so glad we found this store. Great selection and amazing prices. We found a super cute navy blue leather jacket for my daughter that looks like it's never been worn and it was less than $50. Score!!! The lady working behind the counter, I'm guessing she's the owner, was very nice and friendly, but didn't hover. I hate when people do that! Unfortunately, rather sparse for a consignment store and not well organized. Would it kill them to organize by size...or at the very least, type of clothing?! Maybe they didn't deem it necessary to have some sort of organization given the limited amount of clothing? Anyway, I likely won't make the trip back to this store which is a shame. read more

I love this store! It is rather small, but has everything, from clothes, to accessories to shoes, carefully picked for their timeless designs. There are brand names and commercial labels, reasonably priced. The arrangement is by size and by type of clothing, including some color coordination. It is very easy to find what you are looking for, so not sure why one review claims the opposite. I did my Christmas shopping here, got few lovely presents while avoiding the pressure of regular retail shops. Nyla (I believe this is the owner's name) is a wonderful person to work with, very patient and proud of her business. I consigned some clothes on few occasions with her and she has always informed me on what has sold and what not on time. The last time I went abroad and had one jacket left unsold. Six months later I went to visit the store and she recognized me and said my jacket sold and gave me the cash. What an honest person, I thought the jacket went to charity. It is great to have local businesses in a community that is getting gentrified fast. It is also admirable that in contrast to the fast fashion mentality there are second hand stores that promote sustainable behavior. read more

The owner is unusually generous and helpful. i saw one of her items on eBay and emailed her several questions, and then later, when we both realized we lived in seattle, called her too. she answered the ebay messages immediately, even though it was around 7 am or so on a sunday. she was unfailingly gracious and patient in writing and then later on the phone, and had even held off two other interested parties until i made my decision. All this for a top the total of which, with shipping, was 13 or 14 bucks. this is the kind of person whose place you want to shop at. first rate read more

This sweet little shop has been in business for 5 years! They are standing the test of time because they are so wonderful. The owner is fun and cheerful and always willing to help you put an outfit together. The prices are reasonable as a shopper and yet beneficial to me as a consigner. I love shopping here & make a habit of stopping in regularly for 'new' items. Yes, it's small, everso friendly & helpful and well organized with very good lighing. Nyla is particular as to what items she takes & keeps a tidy record of consignment items. I prefer this store to the other one. My only desire for either shop is improvement of mirrors. Went into the shop today to consign some items, which I have done previously here and the older woman working was so rude to me from the start. She had an attitude, asked "Can I help you?" in a rude tone and told me that I needed hangers for all my items and needed them to be dry-cleaned, without even looking at a single item. I brought them in a bag and I had washed them all but not dry-cleaned them. I had not brought them all on hangers the last time so I was unaware of that policy. The tone in which this woman spoke to me was so rude, I will not consign with this store again, nor will I shop here. I love West Seattle and enjoy shopping local, but this store will not be on my list. I don't know if she's the owner or not but if she's not, I would fire her. Not even a "thanks for stopping by" or "let me take a look at your items" and then if I dry clean them and bring them back they would be accepted. Unnecessarily rude. Happily went next door to the children's consignment store and bought a few items. The staff there was super friendly. read more

My wife and I used them for the first time to sell some items and our experience was pretty bad. My wife's take: "I had dropped off 2 coats there and was supposed to either pick up a check or my garment after 90 days. They asked me to call them that day (I had not receive any e-mail notification). I called them after they had opened that day. No answer. And I could not leave them a message because their voice mail was full. Called the 2nd time. Then the 3rd time. No answer. Could not leave a message. So my husband had to drive me all the way to the store on that rainy day -- only to find out that my coats had been sold, but due to the store's misprinting of routing numbers, my check was not ready to be picked up. The counter person said she would mail me the check and gave me a $3 coupon, but we were very dissatisfied with the poor service. If someone had e-mailed or called to let me know the check was not ready, that would have saved us a trip there. The counter person was not surprised at all when I told her I could not reach them by phone." My take: they don't offer notification services, one must contact them within a certain time-frame after a certain date. We tried and could not, leaving us with no choice but to drive there. We expected either to pick up unsold items or a check. They had neither. When we tried to take her up on her offer to use a different address than the one we provided when dropping the items off, the woman behind the counter was not very professional, giving me a dirty look as if I were a troublesome customer. It was us that had to drive there to find out the status of our sales as they did not answer their phone nor have a way for us to leave them a message. All in all, it seems more trouble than it's worth. read more

not happy. after dropping off quite a bit of clothing, mostly name brand pieces including a pair of BCB shoes I was given a receipt for consignment sale after the 90 days past I telephoned to see if any of my items had sold. no answer. left message.... no returned phone call call again- no answer....another message again-no returned phone call? I'll wipe this one off as a loss, for both myself and cherry consignment-I will never return as a shopper and I will never recommend a friend to utilize their consignment services.... read more

I love shopping at Cherry for the great designer collections and friendly customer service. I was in the store of 12/4/17 when the customer who left a one star review named "Strongbear L" came in to the store to drop clothing off for consignment at Cherry. I do not agree with her review of Erin and found that "Strongbear L" was the verbally abusive person not the clerk. The clerk, who does not own the store or even make store policy, she just tried to explain store policy to the customer and the customer started immediately yelling at her and making unfounded accusations. The clerk was calm the entire conversation and not rude or discriminating in any way; while the customer attempted to bully the clerk to take her clothing, which were crumpled in a giant bag. Among other things I heard the customer yell: "I came all the way over here, so you are going to help me... If you don't want my business, I will go elsewhere" and " I am a writer and will write a bad review of this place. I am sick of you liberal, West Seattle elitist snobs." I was truly shocked at the level of her animosity at someone who was just doing their job. There was no discrimination, just a lady trying to make it sound so. It seemed to me that she was having a bad day way before she entered the store and was searching for a fight. read more

Nice consignment shop with a lot of higher-end fashion items. This place has the largest selection of ladies business suits that I've ever found at a consignment store. All were high-end quality and in excellent shape. Shoe section is smaller, but has ample selection. Stock rotates frequently and the owner is very good at keeping items flowing with the seasons. Watch the neighborhood val-pak for coupons for this place. Parking on the street has always been easy to find. Check this place out next time you're in the W. This is a clean, well-organized, designer-label friendly consignment shop with a very discerning owner. She is selective about what she buys and prices the items fairly. Superb, tactful, warm customer service, easy drop-off policy for consignment (no appointment needed), and the owner has an impeccable memory.
