I happened to be on a walk today and since it was in my path, I decided to step in. As I walked in, there were three ladies chatting, one or more that worked there, that glared at me and didn't ask if I had any questions and continued their conversation. I don't want to presume what was going through their heads, but judging by the looks I received, I can't be for certain. They had no idea why I was in there. I could've been there to buy something for a friend, in my case, thinking that there might be some men's clothes there, etc. is disappointing that West Seattle small business seems to have forgotten traditional business practices of welcoming, whoever walks through their door. Or in this case, they know and they just don't care.

In early December they posted a beautiful pyrite bracelet on their Instagram, and I immediately knew it was what I wanted to get my girlfriend for Christmas -- she loves pyrite and loves Revival! I know Revival is a small shop mostly focused on local business, but I figured it was worth a shot to contact them and see if I could purchase the bracelet from afar. To my happy surprise, the owner Ashley was on it! Not only did she say she could get it to me in time for Christmas, but she even sent me photos of a couple of the different bracelet options on her own wrist so that I could choose from among them, in context. And the cherry on top: the bracelet was about half the price I was expecting! And, of course, my girlfriend absolutely loved it. Thank you, Revival! I can't wait to visit again next time I'm in town.

Very disappointing experience! I will not be shopping here again…read more I have gone into this place several times. Lots of cute stuff, great gift ideas, and love the design of the items. Why the one star? Returns are store credit only. This is the most ridiculous return policy, especially for a design store. Sometimes items just don't work for the space/idea one might have for them. If an item is returned within days of purchase as result, the expectation is full refund. I do understand it is a small boutique shop. However, I would think return customers would be your bread and butter. I will not be returning as a result of this return policy. (Pun fully intended.) Edit: It is never clear to me why businesses insist on attempting to resolve an issue by simply restating their policy. Suggestion, if response is simply to restate, then don't respond. Said return policy is not clearly posted. If this were the case, purchase would never have been made. Suggestion, inform patrons verbally at time of purchase.

If there was a well curated award for vintage, Lucky Ballard would win. I love the location…read moreaesthetic, and placing of the clothing. It doesn't feel vintage, nor does it have a distinct 70's era feel like some of the other vintage shops I've gone to. It feels classy and sophisticated. Do you have a scotch and we can talk vintage buttons, sowing techniques, and made in Seattle brands? The only downside is that staff have appeared really snooty. I feel collectors of vintage know what they are looking for and this shop caters to this. Prices are also high for what I could hunt for online or from a private seller. The plus is that the clothes don't have the Goodwill smell and you are getting a garment that is really being looked over for holes and is steamed. The Lucky vintage on the ave is not as well curated. It has a different feel and it reminds me of a vintage Salvation Army . I feel it's the aesthetic, lighting and space. I do like the pops of pastels that stand out more in the clothes than the Ballard location. Staff are also snooty and don't really appear to greet or ask if I'm looking for something. As my review highlights positives and minor critiques, I hope they can serve as an opportunity to reflect on a customers perspective.

Fury Consignment-North Seattle 2810 E. Madison St…read more Seattle 98112 206.329.6829 Fury is quite the interesting spot, a little all over the place. When I stepped in the door, I was not impressed. The place is big and seemed sparsely inventoried. The racks by the door had a lot of who-cares tops but I persevered, determined to give the place a fair shake. In about 2 more seconds I was SO glad that I did. Right there on the wall was a stunning navy and white striped dress with blazer: vintage, designer, Italian. Hey, now. With antennae fully extended, I crept in deeper. OOOOHHHHH, a vintage designer suit, deeply, deeply discounted. Then a crazy spangled leopard print skirt whose original price was $900. And then... a bunch of brand-new totally bohemian garb which all came from a store that went out of business, the very friendly staff explained to me. Strange brew, but I was intrigued and followed the siren song of the back room... At the back of the store, more designer garb, including an Oscar de la Renta khaki suit with tortoise shell buttons that begged me to try it on. I did. Yes, it looked amazing. $500. Sigh. Oh Oscar, I shall dream of you. Then racks of really great regular clothes. I could have (should have) purchased at least 5 skirts. The shoe selection sports Prada and Stuart Weitzman, among the regulars. Clearly, someone has figured out how to recoup some of their designer dollars. If you love super high-end stuff Fury is certainly worth a treasure hunting stop. Take your time and delve into the racks all the way to the back of the store where the extensive skirt and pants selection resides. I am still regretting at least one Banana Republic skirt that I didn't snatch up. Take the time to absorb their discount pricing structure. Price tags are hole-punched with different shapes and the shapes mean different percentages off. The end result is a price tag with three holes punched is 75% off which puts some of that designer garb within reach. The lovely young women who work there will go out of their way to explain the system to you and make you feel completely welcome even if you aren't going to buy that Oscar suit and are just trying it on for the thrill. www.aheadofthecurvestyle.com
