Prices not reflective of a store labeled as thrift. Was treated poorly by young manager woman. She spoke to me suggesting I should assume an unpriced item will necessarily cost the same as high price range similar items. This is proven false, as some similar items are 50% less than quoted price. The item I asked about in clearly rougher shape than similar item I bought for 50% less. Lazy brain arrogance needs to be absent in communication. Borderline shocking she speaks to anyone that way. read more

It's great this thrift store supports the Senior Center, but I can't help but agree with the other reviewers that they really shouldn't be called "thrift" by any means. Their prices are wildly high, often exceeding an item's retail cost. If they priced items appropriately, they'd probably move more product and generate more support for the Senior Center. read more

I have been to this thrift shop several times and have never bought anything. I will never return, because I am so disgusted. The other day took the cake! I went to look for jewelry, as I always do in thrift shops, and I found the prices RIDICULOUSLY high. These prices are HIGHER THAN NEW RETAIL STORES, so do not get sucked into believing that the pricer knows the audience for which prices are set or that you are getting ANY sort of bargain!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Let me give you an example. There is a Norwegian retail store in Poulsbo that sells Norwegian wedding earrings for $55 or so, and they can be found for far less than even that on the Internet. The pricer at this absurd "thrift shop" priced the same earrings for $70! AVOID, AVOID, AVOID, AVOID, AVOID, AVOID -- unless you want to get ripped off. I kindly request that the ownership of this "thrift store" remove "thrift store" from the title. A decade ago this quaint thrift store served the whole community with a full spectrum of price points. Fun finds and useful things that we're actually deals. Today I saw a set of three anthropology bar glasses for $60, that's about $10 over the Anthropologie website price for a set of four of similar. What broke my heart most was seeing a Carhartt work jacket in poor condition for $70. An art deco porcelain serving set which was exquisite for $300. This thrift store is okay. It feels a bit disheveled though especially the non clothing sections. They have housewares, shoes, clothes and artwork mostly. I thought the prices were okay. Some of the stuff seem oddly high like a $60 Columbia rain jacket. Other things on the clothing rack were like $6-$10. They had clothing items like skirts, pants, and tops. I think the clothing section is a bit lacking compared to the household goods though. read more

I love this place! It's the thrift store for the Senior Center of West Seattle. It's a great place to find yourself a treat and support the great programs of the senior center. I also love to donate here and the volunteers are always so nice. There's a list of donation items they accept on their website (which also gives you a good idea of the things you can buy). The first time I went in I was walking by and saw a costume hanging in the window just before Halloween... I was wearing that very costume when I met my husband! Lucky! This is the West Seattle Senior Center's thrift store. They have limited hours, 10-4, but they are open 7 days a week. Every time I've gone here I've found interesting things for cheap prices. They have a ton of glassware and dishes and collectible knick knacks for the treasure hunters out there. They have a small amount of clothes and shoes, tons of costume jewelry, and a small little room of kid's stuff. They also have paintings, fabric, and other misc. houseware items. They even have a dressing room. The prices here are usually much cheaper than what you'd find at Goodwill and Value Village, which is good for my budget. Also, the ladies that volunteer here are very sweet and helpful. They ask for a $5 minimum before you used a card, which is fair. They also have sales each week, which you can see on their website. If you're at the West Seattle Junction, the Stop N Shop Thrift Store (operated by the West Seattle Senior Center) is a cute little thrift store to check out. It's a medium-sized store that's well maintained and clean. Their stuff includes some clothes, but mostly it seems to be housewares: dishes and glasses, linens, costume jewelry, art, and knick-knacks galore. The prices here always seem kind of high to me, which may be why I've never bought anything. They'll feature some special items like silverware sets, paintings, or furniture that can be several hundred dollars (!). They do have rotating 50% discounts off colored tags, so if you see something you love, you might have to wait until it's discounted and hope it's still there. The staff seems friendly enough and the store is pretty easy to browse through quickly. I like that they support the senior center, so I try to stop in when I'm in West Seattle, hoping to find something at their store to buy and support their work. It's worth a visit if you're in the neighborhood, for sure. read more

Who is in charge here? ask about a price reduction on items I buy regularly they had put a higher price sticker over the regular store sticker that was higher than when originally bought. i like to believe i have the same taste of some grandma's. good prices, nice service, and who knows what you will find. that is the beauty of thrift store shopping. they have some furniture and a mix of everything else. i was able to score a nice vintage end table, new crate and barrel coasters, and a canvas painting on my first trip. Proceeds and tax-exempt donations benefit the Senior Center of West Seattle, which enriches the social, physical, and intellectual lives of seniors in our community. read more

It's a shop that is stuffed full of items, priced apparently by people not really tuned into present retail realities. Very over-priced used items from say, Target, some might say priced as if the items were brand new, and in a charming retail space. BUT... ya know it's for a good cause, so if you do manage to find some bauble you can't live without, go ahead and pay that rather ambitious price tag. You'll be helping senior citizens, and if I'm going to over pay for something, why not for this worthy cause? read more

I'm kind of a repeat offender :) I've been sifting the fabric remnant bin for the last few months when I'm at that end of California. They have a large container of separated "mystery" grab bags for $1.00-3.00 each....I've scored some totally kitschy fabrics to quilt with. I've also bought a handful of vintage sheet music...to repurpose into art/journaling. While thrift finds are always fun I also enjoy that I'm supporting my local community when I'm shopping. (it's also being green) West Seattle senior's are rockin' the stop n' shop...no doubt about it. read more

Dropped in today to see what housewares and jewelry they had. I only found one pair of rhinestone earrings. The housewares stuff was a bit jumbled and they had a small collection of clothes that might appeal to some but not me. The lady at the counter was super nice though! read more
