I kindly request that the ownership of this "thrift store" remove "thrift store" from the title. A decade ago this quaint thrift store served the whole community with a full spectrum of price points. Fun finds and useful things that we're actually deals. Today I saw a set of three anthropology bar glasses for $60, that's about $10 over the Anthropologie website price for a set of four of similar. What broke my heart most was seeing a Carhartt work jacket in poor condition for $70. An art deco porcelain serving set which was exquisite for $300. I left with an upset stomach and empty handed.

Stop & Shop Thrift store entrance is on California Ave. It's part of the Senior Center of West Seattle.

They have a great selection of board games, jewelry, women's clothing, books, and stationary. The prices are fair. I can't wait to go back.

I found some cool finds. The prices were a little higher than I'd expect for a thrift store though.

Great things are brewing…read more.. I recently stopped into the Goodwill flagship store and spotted something really special tucked way back in the corner, almost out of sight. I normally never even walk that direction. Fulcrum Coffee Roasters and Evergreen Goodwill are partnering on a barista training program and café space right inside the store. Honestly, it was exciting to actually see one of the training programs in action and connect the dots between donations, shopping at Goodwill, and where that support is going. Real people learning real job skills right there in front of you. This deserves to be more up front where people can see it and celebrate it.

Pink tags were 1/2 off and unlike the stores in Reno, they don't take pink tags off the racks before the sale! There are fitting rooms, and it's all very clean and organized. This is a well-oiled machine here. Home goods side, with furniture, and for that alone I wish I had a UHAUL truck backed up. My cousin spent $150 and I spent about $75 and we spent about 3 hours there. Easily could have spent all day, but it was a thrifting kind of day, so we hit several stores the same day. Took away a star because they don't allow you to use their restrooms anymore. We would have spent more time and money, but they closed their bathrooms to the public (stupid).

When I stopped by, there were plenty of people checking out the Halloween costumes, but plenty of space for a nice browse. I ended up getting 2 fun T-shirts and a sleek phone case (looked brand new!) for just over $20. While the selection of clothing isn't huge compared to other thrift stores I've been to, it was organized well and there are always gems to be found if you're willing to look. The cashier was nice and friendly, and I walked out happy with my goods. Appreciated the Community Board as well, with a nice curation of events going on in the area!

When I moved and switched jobs I called the non profit and they brought out a truck with two staff to pick up my gently used furniture. I even had some baby clothes that they donated to Mary's place. I continue to support however I can and really like the stores displays. The non profits mission and values are very clear and they are so community centered. I often refer folx in need of the rapid HIV testing that Out of the Closet provides. I'm happy that the money goes to fund this service. Also, great customer service and excellent staff. As the hill continues to evolve and change, I am so happy that Out of the Closet remains a Cap Hill staple. 10 stars!

And many out of state as well!…read moreThis store has a boutique vibe when you walk in with the way the displays are set up for the Knick-knacks that is cute and inviting if you don't experience overstimulation but once you get beyond that, it seems they have overpriced a lot of the clothing and other items that seems to keep merchandise from moving effectively. I went on a holiday where the parking lot was packed with street parking full as well. I didn't see people with loads of things they were buying. For instance, an older genuine leather credit card and checkbook holder (I.e. not a complete wallet) was priced at $20. Used David's Bridal formals at $60-$80. Keep in mind that any used formal will need to be cleaned before wearing, which adds to the price of buying a used dress. David's Bridal sells bridesmaids dresses with two different webpages on their website. Dresses under $100 and Dresses under $70. I drove to this store specifically because I'd heard they had quality things at good prices and my daughter was hoping to find a formal dress. While I did find most of their books reasonably priced, I won't take the time to go back.
