I love to browse in thrift shops especially when it's not just junk. I bought my vase, at 50% off. The elderly ladies who volunteered were also sweet. I am writing to warn others of my 1st and only time consigning with Eres Boutique. I would not…read morerecommend any one to work with this company as the service has been poor and borderline suspicious. I dropped off a large bag at the Madrona store, the in-store staff were pleasant. 12 items were selected and 4 were returned. I appreciated that they took the initiative to email me that 1 item was deemed lost. They advised that they would try to find it and after no updates, I had to follow up. THEY (the folks who email do not provide any names but a signature of Eres) stated that they "lost" my $200 brand new with tags Aritzia dress and to make it right, they will pay out $8 stating that since it didn't sell, they will consider it a markdown item, THEN still apply their cut and payout a remaining $8 to me. Why should they be getting a cut of my dress if they lost it? They then emailed me the fine print which states, they are not liable for any lost items under ANY circumstances. With this policy what protects a consignor from even a staff member from selling it offline or taking it themselves? All they emailed me is that they can't find it. I am not accusing anyone other than it leaves the business in an oddly good place and the consigner is a bad one. Please note, this is my FIRST time consigning with this company and was left feeling like 1) they do not have a well-run business to lose items so easily, 2) do not want any accountability by negating to provide staff contact names in communication 3) poor communication as it can take a week if not more for a response and 4) very quick to apply a hefty discount to your items to sell fast without prior notice to the consigner. There should be an option for consignors to pick their items up before a drastic markdown. In addition, there seemed to be a lack of remorse and an understanding of their customers' point of view. Their argument will be "read the fine print" and so if you do consign here, I'd recommend providing items you're willing to donate. I am incredibly disappointed I consigned here as I mistakenly assumed a nice town and storefront would yield reasonable service and wanted to share my experience to prevent this happening to others.

I only speak as a person who purchases pieces from here, not as a seller. The store is on the smaller size and can get crowded especially on the weekends. The staff is extremely friendly and very welcoming when you come in. They have a wide variety of brands ranging from Target, Zara, Patagonia, Asos, H&M. I have purchased a lot of winter and work clothes that I absolutely love. The dressing rooms are spacious and if there is ever a long line, the employees just write down your name so you can keep shopping around. When you purchase your items, you get to donate to a nonprofit, which is pretty cool! This Buffalo Exchange is on a busy part of Ballard so it is tricky to find parking. You might have to park a few blocks up and walk.

Uhhh.... Nope! Around $40 for 8 things, breaking down to $5/piece, when I'd noticed (for example) an average t-shirt would be priced at around $20. So, I smiled and passed entirely. Ready to leave and seeking out all of my clothes, all of my things deemed "yes" were spotted on top of a cart, all piled up like I'd already agreed! Damn, what a sad scam. My last complaint is ... all (every single item!) of my things were just haphazardly tossed back into the bag and box, not a single item was re-folded nor any care taken whatsoever after rooting through them. Yuck. The young folks working there were friendly, but..... really?! The treatment of my clothing entirely negates any friendliness from the young folks. So, Buffalo Exchange.... THIS is how you encourage or secure repeat customers? Piling things up, willy-nilly, no care taken after a truly meager sum has been offered?! Nahhhh. If there was a well curated award for vintage, Lucky Ballard would win. I love the location…read moreaesthetic, and placing of the clothing. It doesn't feel vintage, nor does it have a distinct 70's era feel like some of the other vintage shops I've gone to. It feels classy and sophisticated. Do you have a scotch and we can talk vintage buttons, sowing techniques, and made in Seattle brands? The only downside is that staff have appeared really snooty. I feel collectors of vintage know what they are looking for and this shop caters to this. Prices are also high for what I could hunt for online or from a private seller. The plus is that the clothes don't have the Goodwill smell and you are getting a garment that is really being looked over for holes and is steamed. The Lucky vintage on the ave is not as well curated. It has a different feel and it reminds me of a vintage Salvation Army . I feel it's the aesthetic, lighting and space. I do like the pops of pastels that stand out more in the clothes than the Ballard location. Staff are also snooty and don't really appear to greet or ask if I'm looking for something. As my review highlights positives and minor critiques, I hope they can serve as an opportunity to reflect on a customers perspective.

I did see a dress from Shein priced at $24, which felt a bit high. That said, they have a great mission (100% of profits go toward helping victims of sex trafficking) so I don't fault them for it.
