There's been a long line upstairs for the last 30 minute, so why not have that cashier where it's busy? I'm not about to walk downstairs after waiting 30 minutes upstairs only to stand at the end of the line. I love a lot of things, you can add Zara to one of my loves! This store is so chic but yet budget friendly. Fashion looks like you broke the bank, but very affordable. Store makes it look like it's a high end store on rodeo drive, but prices are not. They always have sale racks that I love. Clothing is for fine dining, work wear, to chic casual. They sell shoes, bags, perfume, and jewelry. They have everything to make you look like a supah Star. I think they have something for everyone. Their fashion is varied and I'm sure you will find something. I always do! They have men's clothing too! Staff has always been very friendly and helpful. Lines to cashier is long at times but goes by very quickly. Store is huge so the inventory is huge!! I love to shop so I can stay here for hours! Already planning my next visit! read more

In between an "A-OK" and a "Meh. I've experienced better," but "A-OK" will suffice. I have a handful of fashion design friends, and I thank them for opening my eyes to the fashion world! Artistically speaking, the Zara store located in Ala Moana center is breath taking. The simplistic look of this shop is a photographers dream (well for me anyway). Clean, sleek, and aesthetically pleasing! As I browsed the store with my two friends, I couldn't help but fan boy with all the amazing items they were selling here, what made me scream a little, was the prices were cheaper than I expected (literally screamed.. just a little.) Gorgeous laced up front tops were a show stopper for my friend, and also the lace dresses were to much for us to handle (in a good way) Zara has two floors, on the first is the Women's section, and on the top is Mens and Children. The mens wear was also to die for, I personally wanted to buy a new cardigan or a sweater (basic.. I know) Reason for the indecisive star rating.. Horrible customer service for some workers, and the unprofessionalism of some of the associates are terrible. We were greeted and asked if we need help only ONCE during out 40minute stay here. (Mind you that my friends and I work at retail stores also.) Not sure if this is how they are trained, or just people who are new to retail, but for retail Customer Service is such a key role to building up the sales total on a day to day basis. My friends and I had such high expectations for this location, unfortunately our expectations were not met. But thank you to that one associate who was kind enough to help us with a size! This is one of my favorite stores. I don't get out to Ala Moana often but when I do I always stop here. The clothing is different with lots of textures, fabrics, colors and styles. The selection ranges from dresses, tops, pants, shoes, coats and bags. I love the wide leg pants! I love the way the pants fall. Lots of options for whatever your looking for! I'm not sure but I think some of their prices went down. I found a really cute wide legged pants for $19.99 and a cute fall color light sweater top for just $9.99! First of all, i came to Zara because i had seem someone on Instagram post on their story that Zara was having a sale on winter jackets (big puffy jackets). I drove all the way from Ewa to visit Ala Moana's Zara store, i specifically came here for this store. As i walked in to the store, the store was really pretty, clean & i loved the design overall. No one greeted us, there were workers in the front fixing up the clothing. I already knew what i was looking for so i went straight to it. The first floor is women. I immediately found the jacket that i liked, so i decided to browse upstairs to look for children's jackets. As i walked to the front of the store, my mom noticed another jacket that was cute. I was pushing my daughter in the stroller and just so happen stood in front of the escalator. WELL.... this is where the craziness begins. As i turned the stroller to walk away from my mom, there was a guy (I'm assuming he was the manager or store supervisor for the day) he was wearing all black and had a ear piece in his ear, sleek back hair. He is coming down from the escalator (very top) starts yelling at me to not go up the escalator!! Literally yelling at me and my child. While he's doing that, the girl on the bottom is yelling at me telling me not to go up. Mind you my stroller is not even close to the escalator to go up. I got a little confused with both of them yelling at me, because you couldn't really understand what they were saying. Instead of him come to me and talk to me when he got down, nope he goes straight to another associate and talks "secrets" really softly with her. I'm starring at them confused still so i begin to walk away and use the elevator. As we walk into the elevator another associate comes up to us and asked if we had a problem earlier? We explained what had happened and began to go upstairs. As we exited the elevator, another associate is right there with her ear piece talking on it. (I'm again assuming the downstairs people was telling her something). It's like they were watching us.. We then go straight to the children's area (children and men's upstairs) and found exactly what i needed for my kids. We go back downstairs, as I'm standing in line to check out, that guy that was yelling is standing by the register, he sees me and walks away. I waited for a good 10 minutes for the other person at the register to be finished. Almost $200 later I'm finally out the door. Horrible customer service. read more

Absolutely never shopping there again, and suggest you do the same! I bought something at the Ala Moana store on Oahu. It didn't fit. When I returned it, I didn't have the receipt. I talked to 2 managers, including the store manager and they did nothing to fix the problem. They have the worst return policy I've ever heard of, and many people who have left poor reviews have said the same. I do understand that I didn't have my receipt, but at least give me store credit. Wna look expensive without sacrificing an arm and a leg? Zara is your place. A lot of people ask me where I get my clothes and Zara is one of them. I've been doing a lot of online shopping nowadays and this place practically has all my money lol The brand itself has great pieces ranging from $9 upwards to $100+ depending on what you get. I'm amazed at the quality of some of their fabrics and some not so much. Prices are pretty affordable and you can't go wrong with their clearance rack either. They have a sale in late June and Black Friday too if you're waiting for something you really want and wna get a good deal. They have their core styles that will always be there but only available in its respective season. Styles range from trendy, everyday, special event, even lounge! They even have some swimwear too and recently intimates. Great for your man, you, your kids, the whole family. The service here has been pretty ok. Love that you can return clothing that you took the tag off but you must have the receipt and is returned within 30 days of purchase in new, unused condition. They accept returns on online orders too, which has been super convenient. Associates will ask you if you need help if they can tell you need some, which is great bc sometimes I like to keep to myself while shopping. Fitting rooms are off limits and the overall vibe makes me feel safe when I shop here. The store in conveniently located at the corner next to Nordstrom; plenty of parking. I've also had some bad encounters...one involved a salesclerk who refused to let me place a bunch of clothes on the counter by the cashier that were becoming really heavy and uncomfortable to carry. I won't dwell on that so much but wonder is it only me that notices the salespeople who walk the floor in their black uniforms seem to act like they're high maka-maka FBI agents in disguise. And I could be wrong but it looks like they have ear pieces that they use to talk to the other salesclerks while they follow certain customers around the store. Once they focus on you they stalk you till you walk out of the store. Not sure who their TARGETS are but it's happened to me several times (keep in mind I'm a gramma who only carries a medium size purse no large shopping bag) It's creepy AND irritating when you pick up an item deciding whether to buy than decide nah..put it back and suddenly a salesclerk comes from behind grabs the item, refolds it than sets it down. W El R D !!!! They make you feel like you're doing something wrong. like they're criminally profiling you (like on tv series Criminal Minds). Horrible customer service experience. Waited 30 mins in the return line when there was only 2 people in front of me. When the regular purchase line had no one waiting, they would not help with returns. Told us we had to wait in the separate area. So there are 2 other registers open but you can't take my return?!! This has been the worst retail experience I have had, referencing experiences I have had across about 11 different countries so this is saying a lot. I spent approximately $1500 here today, and when I asked for an associate to keep my things up at the register while shopping (no bags or anything available) I was told that this isn't possible, and that if I want to continue shopping I need to carry all my items with me around the store the whole time??? I had a conversation with a girl named Kim who claimed she is a manager, and she said they have it spelled out in the policy and she can't do anything about it. Apparently the shelving and storage space behind the cash wrap is only for returns and cannot accommodate people who are actually spending money in the store. The entire fitting room experience was surreal, no one was around so it was kind of a free for all until we were abruptly told to leave a large fitting room to make room for someone with a stroller, even though there was no signage about this other policy. Most of the staff is either completely lost or quite rude and we were pretty surprised to find out one them was manager! The fact that my wife and I had to carry our clothes all over the store made it feel like we work there, and we should get that employee discount since customer service and communication don't seem to be required of employees anyway. If we had more time to waste we would have liked to see this no-hold policy in writing considering the cash we spent today. read more

I am so disappointed, I visited this Ala Moana store on Saturday, Monday and today Tuesday 2/1 5:30pm. Sad to say each visit was a disappointment. Just discovered this store after seeing it online! I was pretty intimidated walking passed it for so many years in the ala moana because it looks expensive inside, but let me tell you!!!! It's a budget store!! I couldn't believe it. They have great fashion finds for reasonable prices, where you're not paying a down payment on a Car just to get a jacket if you know what I mean. Very cute clothes, helpful employees although they weren't too involved in greeting or walking around, they were there if you needed them and honestly I prefer that to the awkward small talk and stalking throughout the store of some employees at other places (gives me way too much anxiety lol) Super easy to return and exchange. With covid you can't try on, but you can always bring it back to return it as long as you've got the receipt! read more

There are multiple people in one fitting room but I am told to wait outside because only 1 person per fitting room. Don't get me wrong I love Zara and the sales. But staff is extremely rude. They accused me of opening the perfumes when I was testing the testers. I lifted the box of perfume that I wanted to purchase and the perfume box isn't sealed in plastic. So the bottle fell and broke. Someone came to assist me with cleaning it and told me why I was opening the perfume to begin with. I told her have you seen the bottom of the box? The perfumes for kids is located right in front of the register. They can at least check the camera before accusing it's customer of doing something they clearly didn't do. read more

If you can get beyond being followed around the store and the associates not bothering to help you but radioing to one another instead to watch you, it's a decent store. The cashier even radioed the exact amount I paid at the register right before I walked away. She looked pretty annoyed. I don't know if she was just annoyed in general at being there or annoyed that they'd profiled me and she was reporting the hefty cost I paid to shut them up because I saw 0 associates on my walk out of the store when there was usually 3 or 4 within eyesight the entire time I was there, which is dedication because I was in the store for at least a half hour before I picked up anything at all. Zara was founded in Spain in 1974, with numerous locations around the world. This shop is colossal, taking up 2 corner-floor spots in Ala Moana's newly created wing. MY EXPERIENCE: The name sounded high end, and the facade looked promising, but my curiosity and excitement became pedestrian as I browsed around. Most of the men's clothing were simply not for me, with odd patterns, uninspiring prints, and unimaginative colors. I found a few items acceptable, but the low prices made me think twice about its quality. Also, the fabrics felt paltry to the touch. On a positive note, the store was clean and organized. OVERALL: I guess I'm more of a CK/Banana Republic/Macy's kinda guy lol. Zara, H&M, Urban Outfitters... not for me. read more

Rude and inconsiderate young male Filipino cashier. I purchased a pair of black pants on February 13 and the inseam of the left leg was coming apart on my very first use of those pants. Before returning them, I washed the pants and placed them in the original Zara bag to return them today. I came to this Ala Moana Zara store location where I had purchased these, and I found a direct replacement pair of pants. When I presented all this to this cashier, I was then told by this person that since I washed them that there would be no recourse, no credit, no exchange. I was very upset. Zara is located in the new Ewa Wing at Ala Moana Shopping Center. The establishment consists of two floors. A person may enter the store from mall level or from the third floor. On a Monday (1/25/2016) night off from work I had stepped foot into Zara the first time. I entered from the third level entrance and was greeted right away. I noticed all the children clothing. The store has the cutest graphic shirts for both girls and boys. While browsing around the third floor I also noticed the men's clothing. I had to smile when I seen a father and son spending time together. The little boy was modeling a hat on and waiting for his daddy to take a picture. Afterwards I took the escalator down to the mall level. An employee noticed me and greeted me by nodding her head. The women's clothing is located on the mall level. I also noticed some fancy looking high heels. Some of them looked like it was made out of snakeskin. One day I'll head back to Zara's and purchase an outfit for my little niece. This brand is new to Oahu but is now here at the new Ewa end extension of Ala Moana Center. I believe that it just opened in December 2015. Venue: Very large two level store in the new upper level extension just past the North Face store. Women's section down stairs and Mens and kids upstairs. Theme: Modern high fashion at low prices. This is a welcome relief from the prices at Bloomies and the soon to be relocated Nordstrom's. Most of the fashions are for the younger crowd. My 19yo daughter loved it and could actually fit into some of the skinny styles and bought a couple of things. My wife found some things to buy also. High Fashion: I usually let the ladies shop on their own but I wanted to see this store too. If I do shop with them, I can often find some things that they wouldn't have thought of on their own. Sometimes they even ask me for advice or my opinion. Not often but they know I do have some raw talent in fashion selection. Anyway if you can look past the more trendy skinny young teen sort of styles there is a huge selection of very nice items for women and men. This is a great store and I'm sure I'll get to come again. From a man's viewpoint I'd much rather look around here than Bloomingdales. Some of the other reviews indicated some opening week bugs and kinks in service but I'm pretty confident that these will get worked out. We didn't have any service issues. read more

Zara in Hawaii....Yes!!! I've been to its locations in New York, San Francisco and Tokyo and always wished there was one in Hawaii. My wish was granted.......Zara is stunning! Located at Ala Moana in the new Ewa wing, the store is spacious, clean and sleek. The ground floor is the women's section, the second floor is the men's and children's. The style of the clothing is conservative yet edgy, perfect for this 40-something-year-old. And best of all: the prices are reasonable! That's why I love this store....it appears expensive but it isn't. The look of the inside is very modern and organized. I've been to Zara stores in New York and they were messy, disheveled and very busy. The vibe in this store is mellow, making for a great shopping experience. Nice store with adorable children's clothing. Not impressed with the sales staff but the particularly rude male Filipino cashier ruined our otherwise fun shopping experience. Maybe he should work downstairs in the adult section. You get the feeling that he does not want to be there having to dealing with you. Customer service is definitely not his strong suit. Yeeeees!!!! They're here. My excitement has frozen my face with a large smile. I have to be honest that I was a bit worried that the selection wouldn't be so great and we'd be stuck with some bohemian/ Hawaii selection like I've seen some major brands do when they open in Hawaii. BUT, I was happily surprised!! The store is nice, large, and spacious. Larger than most Zara's I've visited in the past. The store is very clean, well kept. First day opening is never an excuse to let the store go to shams. The presence of workers who greet and offer assistance is nice and its apparent that management has got a handle on things. It seems to be a smooth operation. Selection is nice with the bottom floor dedicated to women. The second level on the third floor of the mall is for kids and men. Nice!! There are pieces available in-store that I've seen online as well. I do wish there were more shoes selection though. Guess its the winter season, so its limited?? Oh and even though prices are already reasonable with $20-$30 shirts, $69 dresses and skirts, and $50 denim. They've also got some markdown pieces of $12 knits and $19 tops! Great product and price value-- but be CAREFUL: this particular branch is understaffed and ineffectively managed! Expect a LONG checkout line, typically only one cashier present and management non-existent out on the floor or at point of sale. Short staffing is understandable these days, but lack of training and unfriendliness is not. I was at their 5th Avenue Manhattan store in NY last week and there's just no comparison. Again, you'll find great product, but like will be in line at least 20/30 minutes to pay. Oh, and ZARA is NOT nice about returns-- they make it difficult, regardless of the 30 day policy. read more

Very inefficient internet return policy on a purchase I made though Zara.com with a gift card. Sizes did not fit so I tried to exchange for something else in another size. At register, I'm told I can only return the items (not exchange) and am given a small return receipt that doesn't show any prices of the items nor my method of payment. She said I was to receive an email for the GC refund in the form of an e-card. Therefore, if I wanted the other size, I couldn't exchange nor use the e-card GC since I haven't received it in the email yet. Time totally wasted in trying to find something to exchange then to wait in a long line with 1 cashier the whole time just to leave with nothing. A better way would have been to not inconvenience the customer, issue an actual credit in the form of a GC at the register where I can turn around and use it to make the purchase. read more

My family comes here often. We were very upset when prevented from using the dressing rooms at ten minutes before store closing. If this is Zara corporate policy, that's a great way to lose profits. We were not the only customers prevented from using dressing rooms before the store closed. And people won't usually spend $$ on clothes they can't try on first. The employees should clean the dressing room after closing - like all other stores. read more
