Brilliant name by the way their plaid informal yet super cozy shirt/jacket outerwear which comes in different colors and weather it's fleece or vegan leather you're sure to find the right one to fit your style and outfit. Prices are slightly steep so I do get pretty selective on my choices choosing colors that would go with majority of what I wear but they're all so beautiful which does make it hard to choose. They're located in the Ala Moana Center third level a few doors from the Centerstage area there's always something near the cash wrap like the plushie Emotional Support Fries does makes you smile regardless the emotion you're having which is great as lately I get no greet from the staff like they used to in the past. l recently visited this AE store and unfortunately had a very disappointing encounter with one of the cashiers. Upon approaching the counter, the cashier seemed disinterested and abruptly left. When I politely mentioned that we were ready to pay, she didn't respond and closed the counter door with force. The situation escalated when she asked my mom for her phone number. Due to my mom's hearing difficulty, she didn't catch the question. Instead of showing understanding, the cashier raised her voice at my mom. Throughout the transaction, she rushed us and gave off an unfriendly vibe, making the whole process uncomfortable. What deeply troubled me was the difference in treatment between us and the next customer in line. It felt like there was a discrepancy based on ethnicity, which is both unjust and disheartening. I believe that every customer should be treated with respect and fairness, regardless of their background. I hope American Eagle takes this feedback seriously and considers better training for their staff to provide a more inclusive and welcoming environment for everyone. Lots to choose from new summer tees and cool tanks as well as Tube top styles. Shorts are buy one get one 50% off right now. Just in time for this hot weather. They have some clearance in the back for under ten bucks. They still got the jeans sweaters and hoodies. Usually stores cut those out in the hot months here in Hawaii. I work in extremely freezing office so I can appreciate the warm clothes still being available. I did get approached by four different employees so they're very attentive. One in the back had the most puzzled look on her face while asking if I wanted help with something. I explained I was yelping while my daughter shopped and taking pictures for my review. She had no poker face. I don't like making people feel uncomfortable so I told her I like to write reviews and people will read my review to see what in the store n shop here. She then pointed out the spot I took a photo of had an empty rack so I should delete that picture. She put a denim shorts jumper in the empty spot. I double checked the photo and I told her I couldn't see the empty rack in the photo. She replied yeah but there is that big white spot of the wall. I said ok I'll delet it and take a better one are you putting more jumpers. She said yeah. Then she went about her work. I'm not sure who in this day and age doesn't know about yelp and their reviews but that earn them a loss of one star. Why ? Because as much as I the customer tried to explain kindly to not make her feel uncomfortable. She who work theee to "provide a service " turned out to be a bit off putting and I then felt uncomfortable like I was wrong. I was actually excited to bring my daughter here. I'm pretty old fashioned, and, well, old! But are we boomers really the only ones who are impressed by excellent customer service? Maybe not, since a lot of the shoppers in here were considerably younger than me. My daughter and I were shopping in here the other day, and I found some nice Christmas socks for my wife. I was treated with such friendliness, I really wondered if I had wandered into a different universe. There are other stores where folks are not so friendly, and yet, even though I was purchasing just one pair of socks, I felt like a first-class customer. Other stores should take a lesson from American Eagle. I hope they continue to do well, because any success they have is certainly well-deserved. As a rule, I hate shopping, but next time I need to open my wallet to buy a lot more than a pair of socks, I would be happy to do so in a warm, friendly place like this. read more

I approached the counter and no employees were around. A woman employee called for someone to help. The guy who approached was not friendly and asked, "what are you doing here?" I responded that I was trying to pay. He said, "ok that's what I need to know, if it's a return or a purchase" or something like that. He seemed bored/annoyed/monotone and lacking any sort of welcoming vibe. "How are you today? What can I help you with?" Would have been more appropriate and is a standard greeting. "What are you doing here" made me feel like I shouldn't be there. Also, as I exited I had to open large wooden doors to get out. I had my daughter in a stroller and an employee folding shirts right in front said, "thanks! Bye!" And let me struggle to open the doors and push my baby out on my own. Glad those shirts were important. After I spent $70. Please train your employees on basic manners and etiquette. Opening a door for someone with a stroller should be common sense. Greeting people in a friendly manner should be common sense. read more

This was my first time coming back to the store since they moved into their new location. I like the new location a lot better, but it was just opposite haha. The women's clothes are now on the right and the men's on the left. They definitely have a better selection of summer-type clothes (shorts, etc.) in the store than online so that's a major plus. The employees didn't seem to be too attentive...but I also witnessed some of them instructing, who I can only assume the holiday temps, so maybe their focus was elsewhere. Nobody asked my friend and me if we needed any help until we were ready to check out. But that's okay, I guess. I usually like being left alone when I'm shopping unless I actually need help haha. I guess I can't have it both ways? I do have a funny picture I'll post. In the changing rooms, the attendant asks your name and then writes it on the sign outside your door. He got my name right but got my friend's name, Shannon, completely wrong! That was definitely a first for me! In retrospect, that young man was actually the most attentive employee that day so we were thankful for him. Until the new AEO opens up at Ka Makana Ali'i, I'll definitely come back to this location. Went in for jeans and within the first 5mins 3 different employees approached me ask me if I needed something after just informing them that I don't need any help thanked them and told them I'll let them know if I do. Only for ANOTHER employee to approach me AGAIN asking for the items in my hand to put in the dressing room! Which I kindly said it's ok I got it then walked away got me another pair of jeans then headed to the dressing room. They Placed me in the dressing room right in front of where they stand (which is ok but now I'm already feeling like I'm being profiled and that's not ok) I get into the dressing room she tells me to let her if I need anything I said ok I will thanked her then shut the door THEN as I'm undressing and just about to put on MY FIRST JEANS to try on I hear a knock at my door and it went EXACTLY LIKE THIS "hi jay, hi do you need anything? do you need a diff size? Can i get you something else? Are you ok? Lmk I'm right here I can get whatever you need for you ? Hello jay?" now just imagine hear all of that in the matter of seconds and just getting into the dressing room best part about it all is my pants was still in bottomed and not zippered so at this point I'm thinking she wanted to come in and help me dress!!!! So I did what ANYONE WOULD DO I opened the door and asked her if her or anyone else would like to come in and help me get undressed and dressed knowing they just let me in less than 2 mins before that!!!! I actually went into this store for the first time yesterday to get a Christmas gift and was pleasantly surprised by the pricing of their clothing and jewelry items. Everything was neatly organized and priced, so I was able to select a blouse and pair of earrings pretty quickly for my friend at a decent price. The asian saleslady was very friendly and kindly provided me with extra tissue, a box, and packaging for my gift along with a gift receipt. When we went there a nice beautiful helpful Asian girl helped us to find the shorts in my daughters size. I thought that was so nice of her. Oh discounts, you so horrible, yet so helpful. The following weekend, I went shopping with my friends and the downside, the shoes I had on were killing me! I basically had blisters the whole morning. Luckily I had my coupon from doing that survey. Going into AE, I went straight to the slipper section. It was untidy since slippers were on the ground, probably from previous triers that were lazy to place them back on their hooks. Another thing that threw me off were the sizes on the slippers that were holding them up! Some of them didn't even match the actual sizes of the slippers. Really now? I could've bought the wrong pair, then again, that's why you try them out. Another reason why I had to buy a new pair was because the ones I have from Forever 21 was already breaking (I'll save this for a different review). Anyways! I can't go walking around with slippers that'll eventually break apart on me and believe me it has happened before. Since there wasn't many choices I had to settle with a pair that I liked best and with an approval from my shopping buddy. I didn't check the price until they rung it up. Always check those price tags! It's been over a week and still in walking condition. Though it's not love at first sight, I'm loving it and wear it often. Went to American Eagle to buy some new clothes for work and some outfit outside of work. The worker greeted me when I opened the door. I can tell once I opened that door I was gonna have a good experience at this store. I was looking at the section for guy's pants for work since I like the men's khaki pants. One of the employee was near the area and I asked him to help me find a size for women in men since I want guy plants. There wasn't a size 28/30 or 29/30 so I picked the 30/30 it was a little to big but the bigger the better to move around in. He was really nice and funny. We also made some conversation during our shopping experience. Later on he asked if I have a American Eagle rewards program I told him I did but I kinda lost it a while ago so he helped me make another one that was a card version. He helped me and brought me to the fitting room. When I went to he fitting room I was waiting in line for the rooms to be clear. Another Marc helped me at the fitting room with the C not K. He asked for my name and what I was trying on. He was being really friendly and nice to me. I liked the khaki pants that Mark helped me pick. After the fitting room I went back to the front because the pants were buy one get one 50% off so I went to the front to find another pair. Mark asked how the pants went? I said great a little big but I'm still gonna get it. I also asked Mark if I can mix and match for the pants discount and he said yes you can mix and match from guys to women. So I got a women's maroon pants and Khaki pants for work. Mark did a great job on getting to know me and what I was shopping for. The other Marc also did a great work on helping me with my pants sizes. Alyssa was at the cashier and helped me with my pants that I got I spent around $70 on the pants and saved a lot! Even though I know I own way too many American Eagle clothing, I'm always back for more. The variety has improved so much over the years, and so have the styles and fit. What I always loved about American Eagle though is the fact that they accommodate well to people with my stature and fit-preference. I have a size 28 waist and wear XS in shirt sizes here, which is equivalent to the Japanese size Small. I prefer a slightly tighter fit (which they call a Vintage Fit here) because it compliments the figure more healthily, if that makes sense (baggy clothing is for kids who are meant to grow into them. . . Get it?). And about the fit - I love how they label each garment with one of either Vintage, Classic, or Athletic Fit. It's so helpful. Having owned clothing in all sorts of fits makes it easy for me to purchase without even having to try them on. The bottom line is that American Eagle sizing is always consistent and reliable. You know what to expect and feel safe enough to buy anything even online. The best thing about American Eagle though, might be the price and frequency of promotions and sales they do throughout the year. At one point, already reduced items were half-off, and on top of that, twenty percent was taken off my entire purchase. Their AE Rewards' quarterly system with points that expire is not the best system I've known, but the sales totally make up for it. Looking for Big and Tall sizes? No problem! Go online and check out their ae.com exclusive sizes for L Tall, XL Tall, and XXXL. If they're your style, it's also worth getting on their mailing list to find out about the next big sales event. Considering the lower prices but similarity in design and quality, I would rather shop here than at Abercrombie & Fitch and any of its affiliates any day. Aeropostale is pretty comporable, but I still prefer American Eagle for the variety and organization. Though they have their bad days, the staff is generally helpful, friendly, and unpretentious here, too. They could improve the way they handle their lines, but from what I hear, to who and how they give register access is managed using corporate rules, so I suppose I can't really blame the employees. Kudos to them for keeping the store neat as can be, though! read more

Now, this is the only store I would go for jeans. I love their clothes and with discounts, it can be cheap. Either do it with the AE reward card or with military discount between 10%-20%. Their jeans is a must. I've tried Pacsun's and Aeropostale's jeans, I like how they fit me but its toooooooooo tight. It's difficult when I sit too. But with AE's jeans, my life have gotten easier. It's stretchy and very comfy. It's like I can do splits with it! The service is always good, the staff are friendly and this lady was real happy to help me with the sizes since they go by even numbers. One of my favorite stores. read more

Okay I love American Eagle jeans!! They are fantastic but EXPENSIVE!! I would suggest you wait for a sale as it can sometimes cost upward of $50. The rest of their clothes look really nice and their prices seem to be on par with their website. Getting help from a sales staff can be a hit or miss. A majority of the time they do not offer to help you find a particular clothing you want or to look if it's offered at their other store. I would suggest you download their app and check for store availability. You can put the item on hold and you can come down and check it out. Sometimes you have to take the matter in your own hands and search for things on your own. read more

Admittedly, there are some days where the sales associates working the floor are complete jerks, but as of late I've been walking in when the nicer ones are working, and I find them so nice that I needed to jump onto Yelp and defend the rating of the Honolulu AE store. I'm guessing he's the manager because he's always there, but the shorter associate with curly hair is such a cool guy. He's friendly and makes shopping a really great experience. There's also a tall Asian guy who's really funny and awkward as well. Some of the female associates that I've encountered aren't the friendliest people, but all of them will help you or get you sizes if you pester them enough. It seems like the mean and cool staff almost alternate. Keep giving them chances, though. Don't let one bad experience ruin everything for you! read more

Haha, I'm starting to think AE is reading Yelp reviews lately. This place isn't doing as bad as I expected. Or maybe I don't come here enough to understand what people are complaining about? (Shrugs) A lot of their stuff sure are cute, but sometimes kind of overpriced. I've seen stores with cheaper versions of similar items. But today, I brought with me a $10 off $40 or more coupon. Sure, it didn't help THAT much, since I ended up paying $40 anyway, haha. I have to say, though, the employees are occasionally funny and pretty friendly. Maybe a little too friendly. When I went with my friend, I think we were asked at least five times if we were alright with everything. And 2 of the employees asked twice. Better than them treating us like crap, though. I was looking at the jeans in the front corner and a worker, a shorter female was folding clothes. As I was pulling out some jeans she was giving me stink looks amd staring at me. Very crappy customer service. I was on a mission to find jeggings, and found a couple cute ones. I went to the fitting room, and wasn't acknowledged for a good five minutes. I understood that all the rooms were probably full, but the employee by the fitting room could have acknowledged me and ask me to wait. But no, she kept on folding clothes on the sales rack. I tried looking at her to get her attention, but it didn't help. On the floor, no one helped to find a size. I ended up finding my size, but decided not to buy because of the service. One of my favorite stores to go shopping at. I have been crazy and loving this store since it came to Hawaii and also i love their buy one get one half off items it's like getting two for the price of one, which is a good idea to do. They were very helpful in getting the style of jeans that I wanted as well as in my size too. Also at least one of the cashiers tried to see if did qualify for their store credit card but it was a ok, and at least i can return to shop for my slippers, which are buy one get one half off..i was like ok i can do that one and i was amazed by the latest designs and colors that they have. I am also amazed by the sales and promotions that are going on and the good thing about this store is how organized they are buy sections for the men and women. If anything, i can't wait for the new and bigger store to open up in a few weeks, which is a good thing because they are going to have more selections and choices to browse and look at. I am looking forward to seeing the brand new store opening up and take advantage of the buy one get one half off deals so you know what you want as well as getting good deals too. I went here today to do a Christmas gift exchange, and i can't believe how ridiculous the customer service is here. Totally lacking the number of opened registers to the number of customers standing in a long line. Also when i went to the register they had me go to another one on the opposite side of the counter. Why not put up a sign or have arrows on the ground displaying the start of the line, like how other stores have?!? Why do they even have six registers for if they only use ONE?!?!? It was even surprising to see another associate or manager ring up their, I'm supposing a friend, because they did not even bother to help the other customers standing in the long line building up behind me. It's no wonder why i never shop here anymore regardless if there's a sale or not! Tell me why there are so many associates folding clothes and saying thank you for shopping with us as you leave?!? There is obviously something wrong with that picture. Why not pull some people off the sales floor and fold clothes after the long lines have gone down? I mean you're only going to have to refold the clothes within a few minutes as new suckers walk into the store! You have to wait in long lines just to pay for your items, when you can go else where and get better service and cuter clothes! I'm NOT coming back here and i will be more than happy to share with you all, the horrible customer service this store has!!! read more

Well when I first walked into the store with my boy/friend there was no greeting I automatically get an rude comment that my friend and I went separate ways as he went to the men's and I went to the women's and on top of JESS lines she said. "Oh you guys just go separate ways like you guys gonna do something" blah blah blah I didn't hear the rest she said. Then she storms her way to the back. I'm coming from an interview too and my sister works at the store and for JESS to say something so rude is really low attitude to an customer. This really bothers me because she didn't even ask "need help finding anything today" straight off rude and I personally hate being accused of about to steal lol when that's not even my intentions. Personally too I don't yelp at all but being accused of something I don't do for an living or in my life is just low she coulda atleast followed me around the store instead of being rude with low ass attitude talking to me like I'm her kid. read more
