I love the little fans and the rack wall to hang your items. I especially love coming here for dresses and blouses. Their attire is quality. It can be pricey, but they have regular sales, making things affordable. You can also order online and pick up in store to avoid paying a shipping fee. Bonus? The Price Is Right! Not that old tv game show but this trendy women's one stop shop for shoes, costume jewelry, new inventory as well as a back of store clearance section up to 60% off like today. I like to shop from the convenience of my recliner at home cuz I can see what items have just arrived or have just been marked down. Many times they have specials on everything even new items. They have many employees, many working part time so I see different faces. It's cool when they know your name but that just means you shop a lot and pick up at their shop to save on shipping. I wonder if Sheena is on vacation or I'm coming on her days off. They even have cash days to save more. One is coming up on October 2 nd. Fun and comfortable selections... Happen to find them in Kapolei and never knew this Pearlridge Shopping Center existed which was a great find that's much closer as their isn't any town location as I made my first purchase in Kapolei where they had a BOGO 40% off and was unable to find the second and left still feeling like it could've been better priced found that it was all on sale online. Excited but a bit disappointed in myself I did shop and purchased a few items all at 40% off and even got rewarded for those purchases made it and did a store pick up at Pearlridge which did take a few days and made the trip over only to see that there was just one item. Confused I asked them about the other two items and wondered if it was out of stock as it didn't say so online and the staff confirmed that they did have an item in stock but the other wasn't and both was coming from their warehouse which confused us but confirmed it with another staff and that it will be on it's way. Fast forward to several weeks I got the notice that it arrived at the store but I was so busy it took over a week for pick up but thankfully it was still there and finally got it. I'm just disappointed that some items were not store pick up regardless saying it was available especially if I'm planning to wear it to a function it may not make it in time is quite frustrating. The staff is wonderful regardless and was happy to receive my items at a much reasonable prices though in the future will not expect it to make it in time and be more aware and plan accordingly. I did an on-line Google search looking for Stevie Nicks t-shirts and found one that I liked from Torrid.com and saw they had it available at the Pearlridge location. Cool! I saved on shipping and received an email within a couple of hours that my order was ready for pick-up. I went straight to the register, and they had my order packaged and ready to go easy peasy! The shirt is a "Stevie Nicks" labled shirt. The material is very light and perfect for summer traveling. The sizes run large, I got a 00 which is equal to a women's medium but still too big for me, but nothing a little modifications can't take care of! My experience getting merchandise in that store was terrible as when I returned some items bought on line , the sales people would play games with the recepits . I had my niece pick up my online order for me. She was not acknowledged, she was waiting behind a customer being helped and when another customer came up a different worker came up to help the lady that went in line after her & said she had an online order. My niece said she was there to pick up my online order. The worker said she'll be right with her. Why was she being ignored? And not helped being the next in line. My niece was upset and told me she never wants to pick up an order for me. Was she ignored because she's a young skinny girl? People have said over the years they get looks like "why are you in here?" Not cool Torrid!!! They are customers too. I'm going to have to reconsider shopping with you in the future. Yes, I would've liked to except their shipping to Hawaii was crazy expensive. Thankfully, now that they have a location here, shipping to the store is FREEEEEEEEEEEE!!! *happy dance*. This store carries from a size 12 on!! Their clothing is cute and trendy! I don't feel "frumpy" in them at all!! From sleep wear, undergarments, tops and bottoms (fancy and casual), jewelry, accessories and foot wear (even those that fit wider calves)!!! Ok, their prices aren't extremely reasonable but I do love shopping their clearance and sales! They also have a bonus program and a credit card for additional deals and awards! It's about time!!!!! Today, Torrid had their grand opening celebration and offered the first 100 customers in line a gift card. Let me explain, Torrid is a plus sized store for women sizes 12-28. It's from the same company as Hot Topic and specializes in trendy clothes to make women of all shapes and sizes feel confident and stylish. This store opening is overdue and needed due to the high prices of shipping on the Torrid website to Hawai'i and the sizable (ha!) population of curvy women on the islands. It's in between Forever 21 and Macy's in the uptown building. I arrived an hour early and was pretty stressed out by the length of the line. Much to my dismay women brought their children, husbands, boyfriends, neighbors, straight sized friends so they could receive multiple gift cards, which I think is greedy and rude! It was about 20 minutes before opening and I asked the lady coordinating the event on the Pearlridge management side if they're going to pass out numbers. She said she would pass that information on to the Torrid management. Maybe 15 minutes later here come the paper numbers. Not sure if they were planning on doing that from the beginning. . . Luckily I was number 73! Once I was in the store it was crowded, but had a great selection and the Torrid employees were stellar considering the mob of people they were dealing with. They were doing their best to accommodate all the crazy Torrid Insiders! My favorite feature of this location is the amount of dressing rooms! There are plenty! The Torrid stores that I've been to on the mainland have only three-ish stalls. This one has more than double that amount. I bought 5 items which came out to about $130 with all the promotions they were offering. That's about $26 each and I bought a pants, skirt, dress and 2 shirts. What a steal! Loved Torrids since I started high school in Vegas, it has been my favorite store ever since! I use to mention it to my wife since I've moved back 8 years ago, how I wish Torrids would be located in Oahu, and how it would be awesome b/c I could shop online & send it straight to the store without paying any shipment (since hence, shipping costs a leg and an arm, and the clothes are expensive as it is!) so when I heard that they were opening a Torrid at Pearlridge, imagine the excitement I had?! it was to the EXTREME! So everyone thought that I would be one of the I don't know how many people who waited in line when the opening was due, but I patiently waited & ended up going to it later on. The store is a decent size, and there is a variety to choose from. BUT -my favorite part of the store is guess?? The dressing room. Now a normal clothing store for normal size women they have petite little dressing rooms that if your not a big girl like me, you would not understand the sweat and limited amount of movement space there is to comfortably get into any outfit! Fortunately Torrids had widen not only they're dressing rooms but is sweet enough to add a top fan where you can adjust how much air you want to blow on you so your not a sweaty mess in the dressing room LOL! I know some of you women who are reading this is saying "AMEN!" & understand that sometimes the struggle is real so THANKS Torrids y'all the MVP for this one haha! Last but not least - if you can't afford the majority of clothing they offer (bc one top is like $40) always watch out for they're clearance! It varies to buy 1 get 2 free to buy 1 get 1 50% off and so forth. Or collect them "Haute Cash" bc you get to use them later & they have saved me TONS - literally spent $376 worth and paid only $136 with Haute Cash - so that is an awesome spend. When I called to dispute, the rep told me she waved the fees (to keep me from canceling) then 3 days later I got another call collecting my $30 new late fee...I paid it because I was beyond sick of arguing and immediately cancelled the card. So it's been a year since this Torrid opened & I'm still just as happy today as I was the first time I ever visited. Over the last year I've basically purchased an entire new wardrobe from Torrid. They are pricier than the average store but it is so worth it. I have never had clothes that fit so well & look so gosh-darn cute at the same time. I love that you can find clothes for all different occasions; I buy everything from super casual graphic tees & jeans shorts to semi-formal dresses for attending weddings & cute dressy tops for dinners & parties. I also adore their jeans/jeggings, jackets & shoes (the wedge sneakers & all their Fall boots & booties are to die for). There are always sales, which most of the time aren't much (usually like 25% or 30% off or even BOGO 30%) but every so often they'll do big sales like BOGO for $1 or BOGO free! If you sign up for their free insider program, they will email you all the sales & any time new collections are coming out. I love shopping online because they have tons of "online exclusive" items & the best part is you can have your orders shipped to the store for free! Seriously, my favorite TORRID location and place to shop. The prices are OUTRAGEOUSLY over priced. So I only buy when they have specials (which they always do) or when things are on clearance. That's being said, one of my favorite things about this particular location are the workers. They are hilarious and so kind. Especially JADA! She is my main girl. If I'm shopping alone she's like my shopping buddy. She will tell me honestly if an outfit isn't working for me or if I look fab. This place plus Jada, rocks. read more

Those who know me, know that I am a cheap person. I'm no fashionista and I don't buy clothes often. When I do buy clothes, I tend to shop at another department store that shall remain nameless but sounds like Boss. Shopping can be a painful experience for me as I tend to feel down when things don't fit the way I'd like. So being the oblivious person that I am, I had no idea what Torrid was. However, my eyes have been open to the wonderful world of Torrid. I initially went in as I was told by my loving family members that I was needing some support per say. Yes, cheap me was in complete sticker shock, but I was also in shock of how clothing fit. They actually had clothes in my size, and it was fashionable. Say whaat?! I decided then that this may be someplace I could see myself shopping at. The workers are nice and aren't too pushy about trying to help you, but are there if you need them. I loved the dressing room as it was spacious, had a fan in the individual room (and you can control the fan as well). I also appreciated that they wrote my name nicely on the door which helped my family members find me in the room. :) The only reason it does not receive 5 stars is the price. It is expensive. Bottom line. Yes the clothes are nice, yes they fit, but I will run myself broke trying to build my warddrobe up. *sigh* Will I be back? Was thrilled that torrid came to Hawaii, as I loved going there and shopping on their site when I lived in the mainland. There's not a lot of plus size clothing options for us curvy ladies, so it's great to see this. Although, I will say their prices are too high. The cost of living is so high in Hawaii that I don't feel most people here can afford $40 for a basic t-shirt. The quality is good but still doesn't justify this. Anyway, I attended the grand opening event, which was crazy and after waiting in line for at least 30 mins all I got was a $10 gift card but hey at least it's something! The sales associates are super nice and the store is a good size with a good variety. My only complaints are that they need mirrors on the floor for trying on sunglasses and hats, they need more accessories especially purses, and they should allow you to combine offers/coupons, which would help with the high price tags. Also I have to agree with the other review that I was really impressed with the fitting rooms. Nice and cozy waiting area, plus fans in each room!! Can't tell you how often I've been trying on clothes and was sweating to death because most companies don't pay attention to details like this. It makes me NEVER try on clothes, but now I will for sure here! Great job torrid! I plan to be a regular. Update: Came back to visit just a few months after it's opening and I'm sorry to say but the place has already went downhill. There are clothes all over the place and it's not neat or tidy like it should be. Also, not thrilled with the clearance rack with items being put so high up you can barely see them. I have been a long time customer of Torrid, having first shopped there years ago in Virginia. I was so happy to see one open here in Hawai'i. I purchased an item that turned out to be defective (This has never happened to me before, and IMO the clothes here are top notch). After contacting Torrid via Facebook, the store manager Jo called me to apologize for the inconvenience. She invited me back for a full refund, no hassle. Went in today and Val was super nice and more helpful with the return. Jo also came by to say hello and apologize again. It's nice that the staff here knows me by name, as I am a frequent shopper. Got to love a store that has rings and bracelets that fit me without resizing. Too bad it is all the way in PearlRidge. Like that staff is always attentive and tries to help me find stuff that I see on the Website, in the store.
