Love this store because they have great quality for the price they charge. Most items are high, but they also have sales that are anywhere from $3-$50 on several items and clothings. What makes them authentic is, they use recycled materials from other people's donated clothes and RECREATE styles and more fashionable wearables. They show what items are ORGANIC MATERIALS too. That's a cool thing. And then they also take your bag of clothing and give you 15% off your next purchase. I'm sure it's nothing like it but that's what it feels like it stands for as every time you step into a H&M it's how you feel as it's filled with clothing of all occasions including athletic wear. With formal to casual, shirts to dresses this Kamakana Alii location is a must visit even if you're not looking for anything you're sure to find something at a great deal but it's the accessories section is my absolutely favorite with totes, jewelry and so much more it's always a fun and fabulous find. My daughter wanted to shop here for something. She found a nice sweater on sale for $12.99. I found a men's tee shirt for $3.00. Such a deal. I ended up buying it. You can't have too many shirts. The store was clean and nice. Very bright. Pretty nice clothing here but get them on sale. Never buy regular price. It was still too pricey for me with regular priced items. The escalator is on one side and elevator on the other if you have a wheelchair, walker, stroller, or just want to use the elevator rather than the escalator. I've worked retail for 10+yrs in different states, we always had a dress code. Zip code should not matter. This place is OK but not exceptional in terms of selection and style. As other readers have mentioned, there are a lot of XS and XL sizes. I gasped as I saw a rhinestone studded cat shirt and eagerly snatched it up only to see there were only two left and they were both 2XL and 4XL. The styles are very generic and remind me of a cheap version of The Gap marries Old Navy and had little generic babies that all look alike. I even saw the same brand of T-shirt here and at Forever 21, which I love to haunt every so often. The prices are comparable at both locations. The difference between here and F21 is that F21 has nicer accessories, cuter shirts and bags but H & M carries cosmetics, kid's clothing and men's shoes. The music is blasting here so you may like it if you dig loud clubby stuff. I saw a woman in her 80's buy two blouses and it brought a smile to my face since she had super great style sense - way better than mine. I loved the little girl's section the best. They had the most unique stuff. If I had a little girl I would definitely shop here more often but the only reason I'd come to H&M would be to shop for myself or buy an accessory as a gift. There is both an escalator and an elevator in the store if you have a stroller or a wheelchair; you just have to look for the elevator. read more

Grand total savings of $35.00, each item was on sale! 4* Covid protocols: cashier/employees, all had masks on: plastic barriers between customers n cashiers/ cashier Aiden, constantly wiped down counter n credit card pad 4*Appearance of store has always been very neat. 4*Customer service: cashier Aiden/Adria was very pleasant/informative, all items were rung up correctly, also applied my online member discount. It's H&M, so prices are good and the clothes are on trend. Recycle your old clothes here and get 15% off your entire purchase. The customer service here was also good. While it's nice to have a H&M on the west side and easier to get to, the variety of clothing seems not the same as the Waikiki location. It also seems that some of the items are picked over and only available sizes are XS. Located in the new Ka Makana Ali'i mall near Macy's. It store is clean and well lit and spacious. No elevator though, just stairs to go up to the 2nd floor. I do like browsing through the store and the clothes are better quality than Forever 21 etc. I have bought a few times here. They also have makeup and accessories, like bags, shoes, & jewelry! They're making is also picked over somewhat. I wish they would keep their items and clothes in better stock or maybe I'm going at the wrong time... Anyway, it's this H&M store is nice to have on the west side. I asked an employee at the fitting room about where can I find the item I tried on (totally forgot where I found it lol) and he radioed for someone to help me. Totally understandable. Most employees are helpful and look joyful rather than blah. The merchandise is reasonably priced. Some good deals, like a dress for $10 to a denim pink jacket for $39.99.... They have business/professional clothing, casual outfits, athletic wear, and sparkly cocktail dresses. Although the lines could get long. I would suggest when there are at least 3 ppl waiting, to have a second person ring up customers. Waiting for a long period of time makes me question if I really need these items.. H&M has a cool program that allows you to recycle textiles. You can bring in your items to any H&M store and receive a 15% off coupon. I take advantage of this program all the time I clear out my closet and when my teenage kiddos go through their growth spurts - which has been happening a lot lately. When I brought my bag to the register, I swear the associate couldn't have been more disconnected even if she tried. She wasn't rude, she just really flaunted that she didn't care and didn't want to be there. I tried to explain that I had brought in two bags of clothes not too long ago and that the coupons I received may have been old as it said it expired in 2017. Her response was a blank stare with her mouth open to trap flys. Instead of getting upset, I figured to cool it and shop around a bit. It was hot outside so I wasn't in a rush to get back into the heat. I found a few pieces, but not in my size. I asked another associate for help and she was much more willing to assist. I love H&M but this location just rubbed me the wrong way tonight. They have great merchandise, nice displays but it's 8:30pm on a Friday night and they turn off the lights while we are still shopping....weird right? They close at 9pm, we still had 30 minutes left of shopping! I get the employees wanna probably go out on a Friday night but that's not the way to go. Then 10 minutes to closing they turn the music off...mmmkaaay we get the hint. I asked the employee if they always turn the lights off 30 minutes to closing and she said "yes it's on a timer to alert us" hmmm...I don't know. For a large corporate company that doesn't seem right. We looked at a $5.00 clearance rack at the store. My wife pulled a blazer off the rack that had a $30 tag. We went to the checkout to confirm the price. I advised that the blazer was on the $5 rack and that I wanted to confirm the pricing. It was the $30 price and proceeded to purchase the item. I begin explaining that the rack price was misleading and with a smirk she says "the sign says that the prices start at $5" Instead of acknowledging my concern, she wanted to let me know that I was wrong with a snarky attitude and demeanor. My wife went to check the sign and yes the sign does say what she mentioned but it was printed that you'd need magnifying glass to read it. I did approach the person again and I found out that she's the manager. So instead of taking my complaint she took a defense posture and proceeded to give me non-apology apology with that same snarky attitude and demeanor. Not shopping there again and don't recommend this place to anyone. If the manager was this way how are they training there employees to help their customers. H&M should be concerned. We were just there and we asked if they were closed, the lady replied no, but she gave so much attitude that me and my family weren't sure if we could go in or not. Whenever my husband & I went to either Cali or Vegas for a vacation, H&M was always a place we had to stop by. Mainly for my husband, cause he would find a lot of clothes for himself because I tend to not find anything I like there, or it's very rare that I do so - I would mainly shop for the kids in the family. We were super excited when we heard that they were opening up a location in Waikiki, but was extremely disappointed when we went there, mainly because they didn't have a kid's section. So once I got news that the Ka Makana Ali'i location would be having a kids section, I was ecstatic. As soon as you pull up to the mall, you'll see a huge H&M sign...real hard to miss a sign that huge, lol. I'm glad that they have a huge location here, because it's literally about 5 minutes away from my in-law's place, where we stay over on the weekends. My first stop was the kid's section, which they have a large variety for boys, because I am a mama of boys and a lot of stores has such a small selection of boy clothes. And to my surprise, they have a tiny maternity section as well, that I was extremely grateful for during my pregnancy. I didn't buy any maternity clothes from there, but was glad that I had a choice of looking for clothes there while I was pregnant. But the section that really gets me is their baby section. They have such cute variety of baby clothes for both boys and girls, especially their licensed characters! Check out can get long, depending on how busy they are and how many employees are running the register - but most days, it's a breeze. Their accessories and make up section right next to the register is fairly large. A lot of the items they have for you to scoop up while waiting in line are always filled with cutesy stuffs. read more

When we first got an H&M, I honestly thought it was going to get expensive and not worth it so I avoided it like the plague. Hawaii never had one before and I thought, here comes another big brand mainland store. You can imagine my surprise when I finally walked in there and found out it's actual pretty affordable! The problem with H&M to me though is the styles. There's just barely anything in there that I ever want. Most of it's really ugly in my opinion lol (no offense to those of you that love their styles). The best thing they have that I try to shop for each year are winter clothes, sweaters, beanies, gloves and then business suits. I LOVE their suit styles for women. I'm just sad that they're actually the one thing that's way above my price range. Give them a chance and check out the styles if you're looking for affordable clothing but if you're want less "experimental" styles, you're probably better off at forever 21, Wet Seal, or Charlotte Russe. read more

Thank goodness there is a H&M on the west side of the island. I recently got a new job that allows me to wear business casual attire and I was in need of some clothes. The men's section is located on the 2nd floor. There doesn't seem to be a visible elevator so you are forced to use the escalator. The few times that I have visited this store, the escalator going up seemed to be either broken or turned off. So, its more like taking the stairs. The clothing options seem a limited to basic colors. (Black, White, Gray, Brown) Luckily, the summer "collection" changed it up a bit and added a pop of color to the men's selection. I noticed that these clothes are fairly cheap. The reason, they seem to be cheaply made. The material they use seems light and almost see through for the shirts and button downs. Well, I was on a budget so I caved and bought them. Let's hope the light material allows the breeze to flow through on a hot summer day here in Hawai'i. I became a fan of H&M not really for their selection on men's fashion but because of their prices and their recycling program. Did you know that they accept clothing donations? They turn old clothes into new ones. I have always been one to donate to Good Will and National Kidney Foundation but decided to switch it up. You receive a 15% off coupon per bag of used clothes. You are limited to 2 bags per day and the bags of donations must contain at least 3 pieces of clothing. They advise you not to donate undergarments. I have recycled old towels, bed sheets, and clothes that I no longer fit. Great program and great benefit for you. read more

Poor service! How can you not call this location directly?!! I had to call the toll-free customer service number, only to be placed on hold for 55 minutes. Then finally when they transferred me to this store, the worker I got on the line (tonight 12/10/19), I believe his name was Paul, was hard to communicate with...his responses were slow and dragged out, almost where I had to sometimes ask if he was still on the line or say, "excuse me" because I couldn't really hear him and he wasn't giving "flowing" responses back when I'd say something or ask something. Basically, I asked if they had something in-store that was listed on their website. I preferred not to order it online if I could pick it up locally which would get it in my hands quicker and I could avoid the shipping cost, which usually for us here in Hawaii, is more. He told me I could try the Waikiki store, so when I asked for their number, he said he didn't have it and that I would have to call the customer service number again (the one that put me on hold for 55 minutes). This is such a "yummy" place. Their clothes were great and prices are so affordable... I mean the most expensive stuff that I saw were $ 24 to $39 .!!! The staff isn't bad either ... the cashier was helpful and caught the manager and three more staff on the floor helping customers!! yeah for this one. The worst customer service of all clothing retail that I've been exposed to. My consistent experience with them are sales associates that don't even acknowledge my presence (pass by me or continue straightening racks with tunnel vision). I'm a mature guy, so I feel it's profiling ageism at is core. Last night I was finally able to find something to buy but there was no one working the register in the Men's department so I had to walk down the escalator (broken) and pay downstairs. It's a sleek looking store with cheaply made clothes...great clearance and sales (the only reason I'll return) but with the lack of customer service and sales associate interaction, it's a shoplifters paradise (just saying). I'm always in that mall and browse post gym, but I definitely seem to be making more clothing purchases at Macy's (great clearance) with better trained sales associates. read more
