I don't usually write reviews but I feel I have to let this business know about the people they hire. I shop at this place often. Every time I go there, this employee named Olivia is always either gossiping about the customers or telling other employees how stressful her job is. She doesn't seem to care about what others are doing and she just keeps gossiping and complaining to her co- workers even when her co- workers are helping customers. She has never said hi or smiled when she happens to be the one ringing up my items. The two stars are for the store itself and for all the other employees I've seen. I came in to purchase a gift. This location is located in Kamakana Ali'i near the center courtyard area. I walked in and saw many employees around but no one greeted me. I walked around for about 20 min and finally found something and saw employees talking to other customers while doing so. I then walked to the register and waited for about 7 minutes as the cashier was helping a customer with a return and purchase. I waited patiently. She looked up at me but did not say a word. Another male employee walked right in front of me and didn't say anything. After the 7 minute mark, the male employee finally went to the register and offered to ring me up. He was nice when assisting me. I worked in retail for a very long time years ago and know what it's like to be waiting in line. Being in that industry, you know that telling a customer that you or someone will be right with them always helps and greeting customers is always important for many reasons. I was a bit disappointed with their customer service. They had some decent sales going on but I didn't realize how much clothing was for teens. I had purchased a pair of denim shorts and a cute dessier tank top. Although the shorts were on sale, my total was a little over $80. The clothing here appeared to be nice for teens and thought it was great that they also had a separate area called Arie for under garments and workout clothing. read more

I came here with my niece and we had purchase some things. My niece gave the cashier some bills and wanted to give her some change so she could receive a dollar back. But the cashier had already punched in the amount for the bill and we asked if she could just give us a dollar and take the change. She said "I already punched in the amount, I would need a manager to change it if I take the change." LOL. I have never heard such thing. My friend and I were sitting at the grass area at Ka Makana Alii near American Eagle and noticed a beautiful girl walk past us with the cutest green workout outfit on. I had to ask her where she got it. She pointed and said right over here at Aerie inside American Eagle. Of course I jumped up and ran straight in to get the exact outfit she had on. Her name is Carol and she assisted me with my size. She was very sweet and knew exactly how the sizes fit. I normally wear a large but she suggested I get one size up since the clothes run smaller. She was right. The XL was a perfect fit. I couldn't fit the sports bra which was a bummer because I'm top heavy. But I'll definitely come back and buy more because Carol show cased the brand outside of the business. Great way to market. They also give military discount. Haven't been to an American Eagle Outfitters in at least five years! It's changed with the times but still a good store to get some quality clothes at reasonable prices. PROS: Store was laid out well where everything could be seen and found without assistance. Has some clothes for the older crowd of customer. However most things are in the current middle/high school style. That's the stores thing so i'm not going to knock them on that. Jeans, shirts, and belts have always been of high quality....for years they've been. I've been buying things from this store from the early 2000's and that quality has never slipped. The store was very clean and spacious. The employees were extremely polite and helpful. CONS: Wish they had more of a variety of Mens shorts and Jeans. Just cause "skinny" is the current style doesn't mean all mean want to wear them. Bring the regular or boot cut back for variety. Also I'm sure there's more things on sale than just 1 rack of clothes... I recommend coming in while visiting the mall. Especially if theres a sale! read more

I do want to start off by sharing that I absolutely LOVE AE and Aerie. Today their manager assisted me greatly with an exchange and a price adjustment on an item that went on clearance after I purchased it. Their employees are also always super helpful and are willing to help when needed. However, there was a day where I noticed another manager on the Aerie side completely disrespect an employee and spoke rudely in front of customers. I actually caught it on Live Photo while taking pictures in the store This was on Tuesday, May 17 around 8:30pm. A young woman employee approached my boyfriend and I welcoming us in and asking us about our day. She directed me to sale items and new styles that they got in stock. I had a very pleasant conversation with her about our nails and was happy that she directed me to the flare pants I was looking for. (They were 50% off ahh!!!) But not even 5 minutes after our conversation ended, we heard her manager SCOLDING HER about something. It did not sound ethical and we were shocked that she even spoke to her employee like that. It was rude! She said something along the lines of: "Well I need you to do what I told you to do." As if her employee was not just assisting us a customers. As a matter of fact this manager, which I later learned her name was Suzie, did not address us greet us or assist us in anyway. Miss Suzie could really work on her customer service skills, and management skills. I have been a store manager myself and never have I ever spoken to even my most troubled employees in that manner. Not only are you embarrassing them in front of customers but you are also discouraging their performance as an employee. There are many different ways to instruct your workers to get something done, but yelling at them is not it. read more

This review is specifically for the Aerie portion of the store. I love everything about this brand-- they don't photoshop their models, their models are a wide range of sizes, races, ethnicities, and abilities, and the stuff they produce is comfortable, cute, and great quality. When I went into this store, a young woman (I didn't catch her name but she kept calling everyone "Love" which I thought was so sweet) helped me and my friend find everything we were looking for. She was funny and sweet and checked in on us enough to be helpful but not so much that it was annoying. She also ended up helping us save money by pointing out what was on sale and gave us free bags which never happens here. I would 100% recommend the wireless push up bra if you're in the market for a new bra. I guarantee it'll be the most comfortable one you've ever owned and you'll never want to take it off! I came here a few weeks ago and Row helped me out, we had similar body types and I was unsure of my size but she guessed my sizes and got them all PERFECT. When I tell you the most snug fit on all my curves!!! She was amazing! She made sure to find all the styles I told her I wanted to go for! We went here to look for a pair of black jeans of my husband. One of the salesperson, sorry I forgot his name, helped my husband. He gave suggestions, brought several jeans to the dressing room for him to try on. He further suggested that if it wasn't I the store it could be ordered online and shipped to the store for free. The salesperson also, explain the difference between the types of jeans offered, what his preference was, etc. Then, Ro, a manager, helped us order the right size and style online. She was so knowledgeable and helpful as well. The customer service received by all salespersons was so awesome. They make us want to come back to shop there in addition to the sales. Ah, it's the little things like brand new businesses living up to expectations! I am so pleased there is an AE close to home here in Ka Makana Ali'i. The store is quite spacious and immaculate. Everything is so nice and organized. You walk in and are immediately greeted. Women's is on the right, men's on the left all the way to the back. Aerie is connected on the right side and my, what a sight!! Everything is so eye-catching it makes you want to shop till you drop. If you know me and how I write my Yelp reviews, you know I am very particular about customer service. This AE was pretty perfect. Everyone asked if I needed help but not in a pushy way. Someone that truly stood out was Rena (sp?). She was amazing. Helped me secure a fitting room and didn't make me feel bad about wearing sizes on the larger spectrum of what they carry. She was very sweet and accomodating. She even helped me upon checkout. She informed me of the current specials that I qualified for. This place is not for us bigger local girls. Save yourself the heartbreak and go to Torrid. Their stuff is nice but I feel like the quality is only a step above forever 21 but double the price. This place has actually gone way down hill from what it use to be. We shop here often but after this evenings visit we won't go back. The staff was super rude, I guess a customer wanting to checkout wasn't as important than them talking with their friends asking for their discount. The floors in the dressing rooms are disgusting. With that being said if a place of business is charging $70 bucks for a pair of jeans I'm sure they can afford to either pay someone to clean or actually have the staff do their job instead of giving their friends their discount at the register. read more

The two girls were so sweet and helpful from the time I walked in till the time I left. I came in expecting to buy one or two items and left with over 20 items lolll. Everything was 40-60% off. Halia helped me start a fitting room, kept checking on me from 6:30 pm when I walked in till 8:30 when I left hahaha. The other girl brought me a basket so I didnt have to struggle to hold my items and she also was checking on me and conversating. They both brought me sizes while I was in the fitting room and were really patient! As I was checking out I was still sorting through the items trying to decide what I wanted to keep or put back, and halia was nice enough to fold them in piles and lay them out so I could see everything. Good store, questionable cashier practices. Check your receipt before you walk out of the store. I did, and there were five items on my receipt, when I had purchased four. The store manager was rather irritated, I did not even get the generic "sorry about that". She re-rang the purchases, handed me the bag and walked away.
