I have an older home and was having a difficult time finding some old style hinges for my kitchen…read moreremodeling project. After searching relentlessly online and in all the huge home improvement stores I decided to stop by Johnson's and just see what they had, they ended up having the hinges and everything I needed at a great price and the staff are super friendly and knowledgeable. I had ordered so many hardware parts online that didn't fit and wasted so much time and money going all over the Inland Empire and even OC looking for these parts. I couldn't believe the little hardware store in my town ended up having them the whole time. I felt pretty stupid for not visiting here first but now I know to just skip all the run around and come here. Since then I've become a regular at this store. Most smaller mom & pop type stores have way higher prices than the big box stores but not here, the prices are good and I always find what I'm looking for. I totally wanted to give 5 stars but I had to take off one star for the parking situation, it's parallel street parking only. If it's a busy time of day then there is no parking close by and I have to either skip it and come back later or park way down or across the street. I've also gotten trapped in a space with idiots parking too close in front and behind me. Besides the parking deal everything else here is 5 stars. I'm a biggie on customer service and this place blows all others out of the water. They're great.

I got exactly what I was looking for and was out of the store in less than 5 minutes. This was SO appreciated after visiting so many places. I even got local bee pollen at the register. I'm so glad I came to this Ace and will definitely be back!

On Thursday 10/08/2026 at approximately 10:45 am, I went to make copies of keys at Bauman's Ace…read moreHardware. I come here all the time because there's an older gentleman that cuts keys there. He's courteous, knowledgeable and fast. However he wasn't at the key counter today. There was a young girl, she took my key and said okay. She had my key for 5 minutes, then another young guy walks up behind her and tells her something in her ear, she hands me the key and says, "we don't do keys that say China on them." I left the store and called Bauman's Ace Hardware, asking them, when the gentleman that cuts keys will be there. She said you can come back he's here. If he was there why didn't you ask him? Bauman's has been a staple in our community for a long time and now have young people working, that work extra hard not to work. I don't get it. Anyway sorry to say that I will be taking my business elsewhere. Here's what it says, when I asked if Bauman's Ace Hardware cuts keys that say China on them. SMH

I first went there because my internet search for a faucet stem said they were the only ones within…read more50 miles that had it in stock. A very nice store clerk steered me in the right direction. What a great selection I found. Not just the part I wanted, but so much more. I went back yesterday hoping to find a stem extension that I could not find anywhere on the internet. I approached a clerk and asked, and he took me right to it. I explained that the replacement kit I purchased on line did not fit quite the same as the one I am replacing. He told me of its compatibility with another more "readily available" line of faucets. He seemed to know a lot about plumbing. It turns out he is the owner. He and everyone I have dealt with there are very approachable, helpful, and knowledgeable. This is now my go to store for all my DIY projects. Their selection is remarkable and the staff just seem to enjoy their job. It is 20 miles from home, but it is exactly what needs to be. In a time of online ordering and tracking numbers, it is great to go to a place with fair prices, great selection, and impeccable service!!

I walked in through the garage door because of the sign outside, didn't see anybody and I saw the side door inside opened it and asked Dale if he could help me in the garage or inside the office. He said "in here, this is my office" in a rude way as if I should have known. I brushed it off and asked for a screen, I told him I needed it a little smaller, right away he cut me off and he said "I don't know what a little smaller means show me" and he put a measuring tape on the table. I once again brushed it off because I needed the screen. I told him 1/8 inch shorter length and width. And that was that. Dale's job is customer service and if he can't adjust his rude sarcastic attitude he shouldn't be doing it. Luckily the man who helped me when I picked up was nice because I was ready to tell Dale what I thought of his customer service when I picked up.
