I hope that this review gets seen and addressed by management. I went to get keys made/copied. When I walked in, I approached Earl and asked for help. He seemed uninterested, but then told Cornelio to assist me. I didn't like the way that Earl spoke to Cornelio. But Cornelio assisted and walked me to the key area to make the keys. He spent a few minutes locating the keys I needed and was EXTREMELY helpful. Just as he was about to make the key, Earl approached from nowhere and asked some other customers what rhey needed. Then Earl snapped at Cornelio and said "Go help them, I'll make the keys since I do it faster anyways." I was surprised at the restraint Cornelio had. He responded and said "ok" and assisted the other customers. I didn't want Earl helping me because of his poor customer service and attitude which I noticed upon immediately walking into the store. He finished my keys and I noticed one wasn't even a match to the original. He had to remake it. So much for doing it "faster." Let me be clear, Cornelio in that 3-4 mins of assistance was the best part of my visit. His customer service was top tier. But Earl, made me question if I'd ever come back again. I'm quite sure this isn't the first time he has spoken to other employees that way, but to do it in a. Belittling way in front of customers is crazy and unprofessional. read more

Go here first before going to the big box stores Ace has pricing thats roughly the same but i would gladly pay more for the customer service you receive here compared to the box stores. The staff knows their products and if they dont have it they can get it quickly. Ramon was very helpful in helping with a plumbing situation i had. The box store said the part was not available even though i knew they were. Ramon didnt have it but said another Ace store had plenty so off we went. I went here to get a couple of extra keys made. What a joke. The service at the area in back is great. Keys were made quickly. But when I went to pay in front - it was nuts. There's a few employees that are really lazy, goofing off with each other while I was waiting at the counter just to pay. I watched a guy working there come walking up behind one of the female clerks and began this weird game - taking her hoodie off and on her head really fast while she screams and yells in Spanish. I must've been invisible because while I was standing there watching the Comedy Central skit, a Spanish speaking man walked in the door and got service immediately. Even though I'd been there already waiting , watching the employees playing with each other. If this store prefers only Spanish speaking customers then maybe they should put up a sign in their window saying so. I'll never go back there for anything. read more

This Crown Ace Hardware store is outstanding in every way!! Their employees really care about taking care of their customers! This store has a nice selection of all the stuff you need in a hardware store, plus frozen specialty pies to bake at home, small toys, and snacks. Also a clean restroom! My experience here started with looking for supplies to repair my own window screens, which they carried from the screening material to the roller to the screen spline tubing. Then I noticed that they had also had the key fob remote to replace my one for my 2004 Dodge Durango that had been needing a new battery too frequently due to age. The young man Geo expertly made my new key and programmed it quickly and perfectly to my vehicle! It cost about 1/2 of what a Dodge dealership would have charged. Only $157! Several months later, the tiny screw in that key broke inside the unit and I contacted Hector to bring it in to have it checked out. He saw what the problem was and made a new key immediately, but when programming it to my Durango, my vehicle went into security lock, which needed a PIN from a dealership. The local dealership would not help, insisting my vehicle be brought in, which was impossible because of the security lock. Well, Hector, Geo, Earl, and Gary (a local trusted volunteer at this store) worked tirelessly to figure out what to do!! They gave my daughter and myself a ride home and worked on the situation overnight to allow the system to reset. Hector figured it out the next morning and he and Geo delivered my Durango to my home with a perfectly working new key fob!! How's this for SUPERB service?? I am sooo thankful for these guys at Crown Ace Hardware!! Their employees are family-like and I'm an English-speaking Asian American born U.S. citizen and did not feel slighted in the least at any time visiting this store!! read more

First off the service is really good. If you don't know what you're looking for they will assist you. I've purchased all my Stihl equipment at this location, and have had them serviced many times. So why only 3 stars? Their prices are a bit high....even higher than Lowes or Home Depot. I shopped at the True Value in Jurupa Valley for over 40 years and if it was still open I would still be shopping there. Just this week I needed a couple dozen of wood screws to complete a project. Their unit price was quite high, and there was no option that I saw where I could purchase in bulk. While I was in the store, I searched on Amazon, and was able to purchase 100 wood screws for less than their unit price for a couple of dozen. Needless to say I did purchase from Amazon, and the next day I was able to complete my project. I will continue giving this location first pick, as they are close to my home, but if I see the price much lower I will make the purchase elsewhere. read more

This is the third time I come into this store and I will never be back again. I had to actually chase a worker down because it seemed as if he was trying to hide from me. By the time I actually asked for his help he said, he had to get another call, but didn't get anyone else to assist me. This guy has been continually rude in how he speaks to customers (he happened to be a supervisor). I went looking for someone else but didn't find anyone, I ended up asking a cashier for help and she apparently was to busy and also rude. Overall the store felt very messy, some isles just un shopp able. unless you know exactly what you need I don't advise this place. The customer service is terrible. DO NOT get a window screen made here. First of all, when we brought the old screen in we were told it would take a day or 2 and that they would call us when it's ready. Well 7 days later we called, still no screen...finally on the 9th DAY we got the call that we could go pick up our screen because it was finally ready, and they were going to waive the $40 (yes $40) charge because of the long wait, cool. Now you would think that with us bringing in the original screen that there would not be any issues with the screen fitting properly but guess what (see picture) IT DID NOT FIT! So after waiting nine days of not being able to open up our bedroom window, we still can't open our window in SPRING thanks to this joke of a place. They shouldn't offer to make screens if they don't have the time or knowledge to do it, period!! HORRIBLE! As I lay in my hot stuffy bedroom, forced to turn on my A/C and run up my power bill at night... It was obvious I had to write a review on this experience! read more

Yesterday after spending about an hour at Home Depot to buy the protection of my door, I asked two different employees for the size that they needed, and they replied that I had to cut it, they did not do that measure, driving to my house went through Ace Hardware I decided to stop to buy the screws that I forgot to buy, I was looking at the section where they have the door protections, they asked me if I needed help I told him that I needed a specific size without any problem they cut it to size I needed, I think this is the longest review I have ever written, but many times we go to the big stores believing that they have everything. I wanted to say a huge thank you to Kenny, the assistant manager and the rest of staff on helping me today. We had a power outage at home, and needed a generator to run my grandfather's new oxygen machine, as we used up his tanks in the ER the day before. We purchased one which was defective and was leaking gas all over the place. They opened up another one in stock, assembled it to make sure it would run properly. Showed me how to start it and loaded it in the car, later in the day they called to check that everything was still functioning. As the reigning Duke of Ace Hardware, its only right I write a review. Ace of Hardware is the smaller version of Lowes Home Improvement and Home Depot. Although the selection is much less compared to the other Home Improvements chains, I prefer to come here to avoid having to deal with the bigger crowds, especially on the weekends or waiting for a customer service associate for what seems to be an eternity just to find a small part. Yes, Ace Hardware seems to be a little higher when it comes to prices and the variety much less, but shopping at Ace is more convienant and I never have encountered an issue with this store. I do like this location as its clean, easy to find products and service is good. The associates are very product knowledgeable and demonstrate that time and time again. read more

First time going into an Ace Hardware and I was looking for a particular item and Ace was the only place to carry it. I went in and asked for an associate to help since the item I needed was behind the glass and I could not grab it. I asked Nathan (Inventory Specialist) for help and it felt as if I was bothering him by me just asking for help. Once he grabbed the item for me I asked if he knew anything about electrical and he responded "Nope" and that was it. He didn't offer to find maybe another associate a little more knowledgeable or anything. It felt like I completely ruined his day by just asking for some insight. I was so incredibly impressed with the service at this store. The employee's are knowledgeable, friendly, eager to help, and right there to answer any questions. What I was looking for wasn't in stock but the manager (Robert? I think his name was?) came right to the cash register and told me he could special order it and would have it in for me by the end of the week. He really knew his stuff and helped me figure out a few things with the repair project I'm doing and had many helpful suggestions that actually made the project much easier and go a lot faster. I couldn't be more pleased with the service at this store and even though the prices are a little high, they have earned a loyal customer for years to come :) The service is friendly, the employee's really seem like they want to help out, and always have a good attitude, and know what they are talking about. (Something that both Lowe's and Home Depot severely lack. That is IF you can find someone who works there to ask questions, and usually their response is a shrug and an apology that they can't help.) After finding the Ace on Mission just off of the 60 freeway, is a heaven sent and I will be going there for all my future hardware and repair needs! read more
