Have you ever wondered where the real contractors go for their stuff? Here. This is a tool guy's paradise. This place is not exactly the easiest place to find, the place is poorly marked, and hidden in the back of an industrial area, but well worth the trip for that incredibly hard thing to find that you just gotta have. Yeah, the odd stuff that Home Depot has no clue exists. Imagine, tall shelves, aisle after aisle, filled with hardware, equipment, chemicals, stuff. Fascinating. Ladies, these are nice guys, know their stuff, even help us clueless women when the hubby sends you to the hardware store to go get that thingamagiggy he needs to finish his project. Hey. I missed the posted sign that must be somewhere that states employee's "Are NOT ALLOWED TO COME FROM BEHIND THE COUNTER TO HELP A CUSTOMER"! Wednesday around 4:30, there are at least 8-9 employees and maybe 5-10 customers. This employee is pointing to the end of an isle maybe 60 ft. Away and pointing past some 300 boxes of bolts, screws, washers etc. This is not helpful and to think that this is customer service is a joke. These guys work here every day and expect a new customer to know there way around!?!? What part don't people understand? Big box stores will continue to put places like this out of business. I could care less and entitled attitudes by employees don't bring back customers. I was so amazed and disgusted, I left and went somewhere else. read more

They certainly have almost every nut & bolt you can imagine, but their customer service was hideous. I was looking for a set screw in a specific size and the only assistance I received from 2 different supposedly customer service employees when I approached them at the front counter was, they said to go down aisle 6 and look for the bright blue label, and then they pointed in the direction of aisle 6. Well, I found aisle 6 and I would guess there were 40 bins with bright blue labels, so I searched each of them without success, and of course, they didn't volunteer to help me, or the other 3 gentlemen looking for their items in the same aisle. Guess what, all 3 of us walked out without making a purchase, and neither of the employees said one word to us as we exited. What's unfortunate for them is that I'm the GM of 5 manufacturing facilities that could use a specialty hardware store like this for supplies, but based on my personal experience it won't be this McFadden-Dale Hardware location. read more

Great selection and people know where things are. When I asked where something was at there was no hesitation, he said immediately the correct isle. Better than well known chain stores where they either run from you or repeat what you asked and stare at you like you are from another planet with a mental void look in their faces. The people that own this store need to do two things: (a) Extend their hours to 6:00PM M-F; and (2) Have a talk with the super rude guy (Mike?) that wanders around the store at 4:50PM and gets up in your face with "Can I HELP YOU? This is a hardware store. No, not like that... no nothing like Lowes, or Home Depot, or Ace Hardware. It's a real hardware store. Full of tools and materials and hardware like it should be. Not full of ceiling fans, or lawn chairs... they don't have a season isle. They do have an awesome isle. (hint: all the isles are awesome.) The staff know everything about hardware, not just what isle it might be on. Real advice, real help, in this day and age it's shocking when it happens... talking to staff in a store that know what you need, that can really help you - not just ring up your purchase. It doesn't look like a store, but it is open to the public, but only the smart public like you and me. It's like a secret club of contractors and smart people that need to fix things and build things. Shhh... don't tell anyone who'll ruin it... I trust you /wink. read more

What a great place! Huge, and they have just about anything you can imagine for a hardware store. But the biggie is the friendly and extremely knowledgeable service! I went in looking for a solution to a problem regarding some yard lighting. This is after going to my usual Home Depot & Lowe's and trying to figure it out with not even a glimmer of success. The guys spent about fifteen minutes trying to figure out a solution, but couldn't. So rather than simply sending me away, they sent me to a local plastics business, which was able to offer several solutions. I absolutely love this service-oriented philosophy. This will now be my "go to" hardware store, especially if I need something that the "big boys" don't carry, and especially if I need expert advice. I just wish it was closer to home, but at least it is along my weekly trek to and from LA. read more

McFadden-Dales is a hidden gem. Here you can literally find anything you ever wanted/needed for any project. This is where I go when I need a strange size bolt or sometime like that, as they sell fasteners by the piece so I can try first to see what fits. I highly recommend this place! read more

This is The Hardware Store. Not just another place to buy crap light fixtures, but a legit, functioning hardware store. I actually brag to friends about how this place has never failed to have what I need in the years I've been going. And I've gone for some weird, fairly obscure, super specific things. I love McFadden-Dale. I drive to the Corona location from Temecula on a pretty regular basis, it's that good. Stopping by McFadden Dale's should be on every mans bucket list. This store has everything from your average everyday items, to the last chance, looked everywhere even online, and no one has bought this part in 40 years....but McFadden Dale will carry it. They carry everything from air compressors, ballasts, coax cable, switches from airplane cockpits, 13 pound screws, 3 millimeter bolts, 4 foot wrenches. This place has every hardware part known to man. And for any job. To top it off, the customer service is impeccable. The guys here will drop what they're doing and do anything they can to help you to the best of their knowledge. I could keep going and I know this is already too long, but I don't have enough good things to say about these guys. Next time you need that part, or that tool, make this your one stop shop. read more

This hardware store is the best. They pretty much have everything hardware/fabrication related. If I question whether the big box store may or may not have something, I go straight to McFadden Dale. The guys there pretty much know where everything is at too and if they carry something or not so they are 10x more helpful that any big box store. They are a bit more expensive but saves me time, frustration and gas. read more

Went earlier today to grab some very small hex plugs that I couldn't find from anywhere else and they had them and they cost less that a dollar! Plain and simple, if you don't find what you need here, you don't belong in a hardware store. This is a REAL hardware store, unlike the big brand stores like Home Depot or Lowes. I work with a lot of Metric sized fasteners and have NEVER had a problem finding what I needed here. Same goes for odd tools that are usually hard to find anywhere else. HUGE selection of stuff here. Sadly the Corona 91 freeway construction and traffic have made this a nightmare to get to. The store is fantastic - a "Blast from the Past" hardware store where you can get salesperson assistance if you need it. The best selection of fasteners - yes even metric and grade 8 ones. read more

THEE best hardware store I've ever seen. I've been using the Corona and Anaheim locations for about 15 years. They have a huge selection of English and metric fasteners, electrical supplies, tools, and much more. When I'm trying to solve a problem, I often go there just to wonder around and browse. More often than not, I find what I need. You also have access to their very knowledgeable staff, who know more about hardware, and tools than most of us ever will.
