Located on 6th street next to the Toyota Dealership, I had a good experience at this Harbor Freight location. It's not as busy as the Tyler location and the return process was easy and efficient. Staff greeted us when we entered and helped us with our return within minutes. I also had some free time to look for garden power tools. We looked at their lithium battery powered lawn mower and shrub cutter. They have quite a selection to choose from. At this location they also have wooden and metal tool boxes for your garage. I found a cute mini wooden tool box that was nice and I'll probably gift it to someone. I am still starting my collection of tools so don't need it know. They also have moving blankets, batteries, security lights, and something new to me exterior solar panels. Overall good visit. Clean interior and everything was organized and had prices on them. They even have a membership that you can join for even more savings! read more

All the employees seem very overwhelmed at this store and from what I have seen the couple times I was there a lot of people(I'm assuming managers) spend a lot of time just talking in that little room by the registers. After seeing competitive reviews on the the Vulcan 220 multiprocess welder, I decided to pull the trigger and pick one up. Also during time I wanted one of the tool cabinets they had but hesitant to purchase due to how much I'd be spending for the month. Lol. After grabbing the welders ticket for the registers, I walked around to see that they had a full inventory of good stuff. Then I got in line to pay and the cashier seemed super nice to the guy infront of me. Tracee is the most amazing person. She made sure that I didn't leave the store without all the sale benefits and I ended also buying the tool cabinet too. The nicest person you'll meet. Wow. Simply Wow. Corona has not seen the likes of this place. This is a good, new business in our midst. I am not a "tool" kind of person. I followed Mr. B inside just because it was new, I was curious, and I needed to make sure he did not go off the deep end. He has a thing about tools and stuff, and this place reeked of testosterone. But after taking copious pictures of the "manly" stuff to accompany my Yelp review, I suddenly realized I could actually find thingamabobs that suited me as well. For instance, I discovered they have stringed solar lights that feature iridescent dragon flies for lights. Bingo, instant garden enhancement! And then I saw all the garden tools. Good, always need something. And there were even kids toys (like remote control boats, airplanes, helicopters. I could shop for the grandkids here and be their favorite grandma, no sweat. Harbor Freight Tools is going to give some older, local businesses a run for their money. This is a big, big store, with a large variety of merchandise, small and big, friendly workers, and a very clean and organized environment sure makes it impressive. And the prices seemed quite reasonable. Can't complain about the huge parking lot, either. According to the cashier, they have been going through some major expansions. They are opening an average of 100 new stores this year, according to her. This location had the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I had to ask for help several times, only because I kept being told that the tool I was looking for was in different areas. None of the associates would get off their phones to take the time walk over to help me look, not to mention when I was able to get someone to help it took about 20 minutes. The phone conversations seemed to be more important than helping customers. Also didn't help when I left the manager was outside smoking a cigarette. To start off entered the store no one greets me, looking for product and I hear them greet a man that was not of color. I had never been to a HF store. This one is located in a seedy-looking part of old Corona. One plus to the experience of shopping there, you have all the parking spaces to yourself. There were very few other customers. I purchased a Pittsburgh ratchet tool. I went home and realized soon after that I did not have the strength to remove the iron clad packaging. It had a very thick plastic attached to the tool which even my scissors could not cut. In frustration, I resorted to using a vise grip which I already had, and with much effort, I was able to complete the project I was working on. Early this morning, I went back to Harbor Freight to return the unused tool. I told the young man who helped me, "It looks like Pittsburgh did not want me to use their tool. It was impossible to remove its packaging". He offered to remove the packaging for me, but I told him I no longer needed it. He gave me my refund. Then on second thought he asked for my ID. I asked, "Why the ID? That is very invasive" (To think I paid cash because I did not want to use my credit card at this seedy-looking place). He scanned my CDL and I was so bothered by it. He said, "We ask for ID for those who make a lot of returns". I said, "This is the first time I've been to a Harbor Freight, the first time I have purchased and returned an item, and this will be the last time I will buy from Harbor Freight". Swirling in my mind were thoughts of identity theft. That young man, Samuel, was very polite. I assured him I wasn't blaming him for Harbor Freight's corporate policy. I can't speak for the quality of the Merchandise at Harbor Freight but they do have an abundance of it and it is very reasonably priced. This location is very nice. Conveniently located off the 91 Freeway at 6th Street in Corona is a large new building with ample parking. The store is clean, well organized, well lighted and with wide aisles. This Harbor Freight location is new and finally replaces the old LA Fitness building that stood empty for around a decade. Harbor Freight is a no-frills Hardware store, where I prefer to come to buy gloves, dust masks, safety goggles, tape/adhesives, trash bags, and tarp, for some of my small, household projects. Whereas my fiancé comes here for more heavy duty stuff. The store is not as overwhelming or as expensive as Home Depot or Lowe's. Check out their circular for Super Coupons and other great deals. THIS is THE Harbor Freight. Full disclosure: I haven't visited EVERY Harbor Freight in existence, so this is out of a dozen or two throughout the U.S. I have patronized. The place is huge (for a Harbor Freight). There's lots of parking (Pasadena & Pocatello have problems with their parking during peak periods)(wow, that's a lot of "p"s in my accidental alliteration)(;-)). The place is lit well, & has lots of Harbor Freight stuff (if you care for that brand, which I don't). What really makes this particular Harbor Freight shine is the staff. They are undeservedly helpful, kind, & friendly. I'm not used to that at a lot of retailers, & certainly not from Harbor Freight, where the staff generally borders on the ragged edge of violating assault ordinances in the cities in which they operate. Not at this store. I don't know if it's their manager, or if everybody was happy-drunk while I was there, but they not only opened the door for me a couple of minutes after closing time to ACCEPT MY RETURN FROM A DIFFERENT HARBOR FREIGHT (of all things), they held that door too. They helped me load something from the car INTO the store, smiled, & were pleasant the whole time. They even answered random hardware-related questions (when they new the answer) while I waited for the return receipt to print. It was like I left Earth (or more properly the "Inland Empire") & somehow magically was transported to a happy place with nice, helpful people. You know, like Utah. The tools here are the same lousy quality all the stores carry, but they are so darn nice here I will be doing ALL of my Harbor Freight buying at this store. They do have some pretty good deals on storage bins & hammers. Just stay away from the machine tools (drill bits, taps, dies, metal lathes, etc. That stuff is so bad you couldn't fix something if it wasn't broken. If you tried, you'd break it: oblong holes, wrong thread pitch, the usual defects that accompany bad manufacturing). read more

The managers were knowledgeable, the staff was efficient and helpful and their prices are very reasonable. Having moved out of the area I now appreciate the Corona, CA store even more. The service was very disappointing. This evening, at approximately 6 pm, the store supervisor stood around and refused to attend to a particular customer who asked for his assistance. The supervisor rudely ignored him and walked away. The customer Appeared to be a hard-working impoverished gentleman and the supervisor was simply inappropriate. Today I went into Harbor Freight. I have seen it for awhile, but I didn't go in because I am not really into tools. I was shopping for a small generator and Ubaldo the salesman and I think supervisor was really helpful. He explained the different wattages to me and seemed very knowledgeable about the item. He was very patient and genuine. I wasn't planning on purchasing today, but he was so informative and helpful I bought it. I just recently had a power outage from a storm and feel a lot better owning a generator for emergencies. You can never be too prepared...and I saw some other stuff in there I may need! Probably my favorite store when I need a tool on the cheap and quick. Or what my friend likes to call them "burner tools". I probably have a tool box full of ratchets, pliers, wrenches, etc from here. So far everything I've bought is still working. Plus if you buy there warranty, if it breaks walk in and they'll replace it. Don't forget to sign up for there coupons and they always send out coupons for free small stuff like: microfiber rags, screwdriver, led portable magnet pocket light, etc. but you have to purchase something before you can get your free item. I give it 1 star because zero is not an option. Walmart carries a lantern that is $25. Harbor freight has one for $20 with batteries included that is more lumens. I go to the Corona location, grab it off the shelf and head to the register. It rings up $25. I explain and show the cashier that the website shows $20. He explains that they are different models. I told the cashier I want the version from the website. He goes to look for it. Comes back after a few minutes and says they don't have it. I show him the website on my phone that says they have 3 in stock. The manager comes out and they disappear for a while and return and say they can't find it. I ask for a price match since I drove all the way there for nothing. I was told no there is nothing we can do for you. It is fairly easy to please a reasonable customer in retail sales, but apparently this store and manager don't care about customer service and false advertising. Don't shop here read more
