Just when you think customer service is dead... you cross paths with Megan!!! Walked into the store to get some tests done and buy some supplies and noticed a huge line. I had time so decided to browse and jump in line when it was shorter. If you think the people at Chik Fil A know how to manage a line you haven't seen Megan work. She moved that line so quickly I thought they had an entire team back there. I had a lot of questions and it was close to closing so felt kind of bad, but trusty Megan ripped through my questions, tested my water, tested my cell and slapped me with a degree in pool chemistry. Definitely learned more about chemistry in this 30 minute span than I ever did in my undergraduate chemistry course (thanks a lot cal state system). All in all, Megan single handedly restored my faith in customer service, this country and my skills as a chemist. Now I just have to find a nice way to tell my pool guy he's no longer needed. Probably the most unprofessional terrible experience I've had. The man running the store was obviously in a foul mood and let it out on his customers. He was rude and short tempered. He discriminated against me and my family and was a jerk repeating in a loud obnoxious sarcastic voice "HAVE A NICE DAY!!" All of the sudden the restroom was now not open to the public when the previous guy let us. Then I walked 5 feet away from my boys and he yelled "You have to save the children at all times!" I replied I am five feet away from them and he snapped back, "look at the sign!" That's when I hit it towards the door saying you've got to be kidding me and he just continued to yell. Have a nice day. Completely unprofessional. Way beyond just having a bad day. This was discrimination. Had I've been his same race he wouldn't have had a problem. Time to go somewhere else to get my pool supplies. I've been going there since we moved to the area two years ago. Nice job guys. Might want to screen your employees a little better. My husband had the absolute WORST experience with a newer manager or he said he was !! I'm late in writing this review and I tend to not write bad reviews, unless they are a really horrible experience. This review needs to be written! The guy was INSANE! We have two pools one very small and a normal one. We have been going to Leslie's for years for our supplies and testing. This new guy takes it upon himself to say we can only test ONE pool!! My husband said that we have always had both done . He started yelling at my husband and threatened him and then turned around and said my husband threaten him!! We own a business in town and are COMPLETELY appalled at the service from this HORRIBLE man! He should be fired Immediately! We live in Norco and now drive to another pool store out of town! I received the shipment on Friday 5/31/2024. The box was tattered. It was crushed in spots, with numerous tears/punctures. I immediately took photos (see attached zip file of 14 photos) of the condition. You can see the FedEx truck that delivered it in the background of the first photo. I did a visual inspection from the top of box, and it appeared things were displaced/disheveled and scuffed but nothing major. Since I was flying out of town the following Monday 6/3/2024 I decided to leave it in the box until I returned from my trip. (concerned that if I started to install the new filter before my trip then found an issue that couldn't be resolved immediately my system would be down for days). Upon my return, I installed the new filter on Monday 6/10/2024. At that time, I took the filter unit out of the box, and opened the unit. I did take a picture of the top of the filter cartridge system, and everything looked fine. I did not take apart the filter cartridge system, so the bottom of the cartridges were never looked at. Everything seemed to be working just fine, I clean my pool weekly and didn't see any issues until +/- 6 cleaning. At that time when I was cleaning the pool (last Saturday 6/10/2024) I noticed that there was dirty water returning into the pool and jacuzzi. Seemed weird, even though the pressure meter on top of the filter did not indicate I needed to clean the filter (no PSI change from original clean filter PSI), I figured I should do so I could figure out what was up. That is when I discovered the damage to the bottom of the filter cartridges. I then reached out to your team o see what could be done to resolve the issue. NO HELP.. Past their 30 day warranty, deal with the manufacture (Pentar) on your own. WTF? I bought this from Leslie's and sent their customer service person 14 pictures showing how bad the package was when it was received. Do not buy online, you will not get any reasonable help when it is obviously their F-up. Sorry I didn't send a complaint the day I received the filter but I figured it was just a few scuffs and loose parts, I didn't think anything was structurally compromised. Now I feel they should replace the complete unit/order. Who knows if there is a hairline fracture to the filter housing? read more

She went above and beyond to help us understand costs and pricing for long term private pool maintenance. The water testing service is thorough and products sold to us was appropriate. I also want to give Kudos to General Manager Mike for supporting Megan during the process. He was also very friendly and professional. If corporate is reading this, give them a much deserved raise! I recently moved into the area and am a first time pool owner. I knew nothing about how to take proper care of a pool. When I moved into my home, the pool water was in pretty bad shape but I didn't know that until I got the water tested at this Leslie's location. Mike, the manager, and Megan, the assistant manager, have been really great in helping me understand all the various dynamics of pool chemistry and keeping all the diagnostic chemical testing numbers is safe ranges for my family. In today's world service is the main thing that separates those that stay in business and those that go by the wayside. I can see Leslie's slipping into one of those that goes off into to the deep in and never resurfaces. I am doing this review based on my last two times I needed to purchase a part for my pool. One visit was at the end of last season and the other was today. I am sorry or happy to report that I will no longer be using Leslie's to purchase any of my pool supplies. Sorry in that fact I will no longer be supporting a neighborhood business happy because I found an easier way to do business. I was lead to this because of VERY Poor service. Last year I needed an o-ring for my filter and they gave me the wrong size twice. The old o-ring had broke and they weren't able to size it up. I gave them the filter name and everything needed to give me the right part. After returning it for the second time they realized they were looking at the wrong part number and would have to order my o-ring. They did and after about 10 days final got my o-ring. Today I called first to make sure they had the part I needed another o-ring. This time I gave them the part number. I wanted to save myself a 20 min drive. The guy on the phone checked his inventory and told me they didn't have it in stock and would have to order it. I told him that would be great when would be in. He told me I would have to come in and complete paperwork so they could order it. Make sure they would know who to call when it came in is what he said. I told him he had to be kidding and he said no. I politely told him to forget it. After hanging up I went on-line found a company that sales the part. Ordered two of them and they would ship today and should have in 2-3 days. The whole process took me less then 10 minutes that even included searching for the part, creating an account, paying for it and getting a confirmation. All this in less then the time it would have taken me to drive one way. I see this new company has everything I need and I can order it from my living room and it will be delivered to my door. I've been a customer at this Leslie's since I moved to Eastvale 15 years ago, they have always been friendly and helpful. Today, while I was waiting for another customer to be helped, I started wandering through the store trying to find a new salt chlorinator for my pool, I know mine is about to die and I'm already thinking of a replacement. I asked Megan for advice, and she went above and beyond to try to get me the replacement part I needed, I know this system is no longer supported by the manufacturer, but she managed to find ONE part. She recommended to make sure that it's the one that fits my system before buying it. I wish every time I go in a store the associates were as helpful and committed as Megan. I wish I can give this store a negative rating today 6/23 @5:30 pm we went to buy some supplies for our pool. My son was holding a ball that he wanted to purchase and the sales clerk yelled at him don't play in my store. I then approached my son and asked him if he was playing with the ball and he said no I was just holding it in my hand. I then approached the sales clerk and told her that she was very rude to my son and she said I don't care there's no pain in my store I told her he is not playing in her store and she said well I thought he was playing with the ball. I then told her you thought but he didn't and she immediately started to use profanity at me and said to get the f*#$ out of her store and she threatened to call the cops and I asked her for her name to report her and she said I'm not giving you my F@*$ name she repeatedly used profanity so I called corporate office and open a big case against her they should not have people representing Leslie's pool supply behaving in this manner very unacceptable and not professional I will not be returning to the store again, she had brown hair and it was in a ponytail. The proof is in the security video I hope that the manager of the store reviews that video on the date and time to see her behavior in front of other customers. read more

One month ago I purchased over $400.00 in pool toys from this place, and I realized I didn't need the spa solar cover, which I never even opened. So today I bring it back expecting this to simply be charged back to my credit card. But the guy in charge decided I could only have a store credit. Even though I told him I NEVER frequent his store. I purchased a filter motor back in February 2013 and this weekend the motor went bad. I called the store and they stated it has a one yr. warranty so bring it in and talk to the Manager. Well today I took it in and spoke to the Manager Doug and he stated that because it had some calcium build up it is not covered. Then he tried to up sell me to a 1,200 unit. I have been a long term Leslie's customer, but I would say now try another pool store.... I have a call into the District Manager to present my case. I would be very cautious on frequenting this store because they are always trying to up sell you with chemicals you don't need. I had to buy another motor impeller and gaskets today from another location right around the corner from this store. I spent 488.00, (332.87) was on a motor that was under warranty and am very pleased with my new found pool store... I have found that the prices are a little high, but I have also learned that the quality of the chemicals is superior to what you get for less elsewhere! We had been having an issue with our spa water having a slight green color. No matter what we did, it still seemed to have that tinge of color, even though it was crystal clear. I took a sample in today and I was sold product and was told exactly how much to use, etc. I came home and put it in the spa, as directed. Within two hours, my spa was sparkling clear, with no color! Nice to know that they have employees that actually have knowledge of the pool/spa business. Better yet, the testing service and advice were FREE! read more

I have bought from these guys for years but a few weeks ago my wife bought the wrong chlorine tabs. I came back to return and get the right product and was hit with they have a 14 day limit on returns and since the purchase was made at another store the sales person could not process it. I had to waste my time and come back to see the manager. I did but he would only offer a store credit so had to buy $60 of items I did not need! Back to Target, Walmart or Home depot for my spa chemicals from now on, their return policies are more in line of what is expected. read more

Horrible customer service. 4 years ago I purchased a Hayward variable speed pump from Leslie's and recently went out on me. I did some research and figured out the problem was the drive and needed it replaced, which is very common with this pump. I called for a service tech to come and fix the issue. I was given a week and a half wait for the tech. When the tech arrived, he unscrewed a screw and told me I need a new drive. No Kidding. He then tells me he has to order it and will have to return in a week or more. I was charged $142.00 for this. I would have assumed that a "reputable company" like this would have the ability to know that this pump has a deficiency and after the customer explains the deficiency, that the company would come prepared to resolve the issue. Since then I have spoken to customer service who advised me that the district manager Luu would call me back. I instead got a call from the store manager mike who told me numerous times I would receive a call from Luu. It took over a week and many calls from my end to finally receive a call. Unfortunately Luu was no help and would not refund my money. I went to another local pool store who came to my house the next day and replace my pump with much better customer service. I am currently pending a call back from the regional manager. We will see what he has to say about this terrible service read more

I spent over $700 in pool chemicals within the course of 2 months. My pool looked horrible the whole time. Went down the street to another pool place, and found out that the chemicals were not the correct ones. Also found out they work on commission. $30 bucks later and 2 days of filter cleaning, and my pool looks glorious. I will never shop here again. read more
