I used to like Home Depot because they had a lot of friendly, knowledgeable people that could provide help and good advice to a novice DIY-er like me. These days, there is hardly anyone to help customers and many of the employees they have know very little about the products in the section where they work. Sometimes the employees are just questionable overall... I went in to buy a new aerator for my bathroom faucet, but they were out of the one I needed. The guy helping me was giving off some weird vibes and it got a little weirder when he suggested that I go to an Ace hardware that he said was just down the street. When I questioned it, he insisted that there was an Ace and described a location where I KNEW there was no hardware store (I would have gone there first if there was an Ace so close by). I asked if it was new and he said "yeah, maybe". Just on the off chance, I went down to where he said the Ace hardware was located but there was nothing but a Starbucks and a cheesesteak restaurant. Sending a customer off on a wild goose chase is such a bizarre thing to do! The nearest Ace store is a little drive away and in a disagreeable neighborhood, but I think I will be making the special trip from now on. read more

My husband went to this Home depot looking for a little fridge, well he found one , brought it home set it all up and noticed a good size dent on the corner.. it was 95 degrees out and he had to pack it all back up and drive it back, well I am gonna be honest, Most Home Depot's in general doesn't have the best customer service (just sayin)..I called and spoke to Fernando the mgr.. I told him my problem and said " can you please at least help him find another one like it and give us a discount for all the trouble "?? Fernando said " let me talk to your husband and I will help you out". Well let me say Fernando and a gentleman named Eric helped my husband so much and found us a fridge and gave us a discount that was above and beyond kind.. they were so professional and understanding, and wanted to help my husband..they really went out of their way to please us, we are so grateful that Fernando and Eric took the time to give my husband grace and help us and they made sure we were happy.. I purchased a $300 gift card from this store on Madison Street in Riverside. My complaint is not only for the store staff, but also The Home Depot corporate. I needed assistance with the gift card. It kept reading error. The lady (I won't say her name) scanned 4 cards and then stated they had been "hacked" and could not be processed. Finally, she scanned one that worked and I purchased it. I gave the card to my client as a closing gift. He took the card to the Home Depot in Brea, who then told him it was no good and had a Zero balance. I felt embarrassed and my client said he was embarrassed and standing in the middle of Home Depot with a cart full of items for his new home. I immediately went online and purchased a new $300 digital card and sent it to him so he could continue with his purchase. The next day I drove out to Brea and picked up the card. I then took it back to the store and was told they do not give refunds. They will just issue me a digital card. I explained that I already replaced the gift card with a digital card and I want a refund. They refused. I contacted corporate and was still told no. End result, they issued a digital gift card for $300. I wish I could sell it! I feel this is poor business practice and no fault of the customer. Secure your gift cards better to safeguard your consumers. I will never purchase another Home Depot gift card and as soon as I pay off my credit card, I will be done with them completely. read more

When these guys showed up they left my washer and dryer in the garage I had to ask them to take it out of the boxes and take the boxes WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER . My father in law went into this location tonight in search of a specific item he needed to purchase. He had a photo of the item and it said there were plenty in stock. Well first of all, I love Home Depot but Riverside is my favorite location. Just something about it. Lol. The employees are great and I usually find what I need there. Pricing is pretty good too and speaking of great employees and good pricing, I got the most amazing deal on a barbecue that was on sale, but they ran out of it and had to locate it at another store. Only a few left in all of HD's inventory and somehow it was not on sale at the other stores but I was able to have it price matched and picked up within a week fully assembled. I had never been to this Home Depot before, but it was super convenient to where I was, and I needed a new battery for my leaf blower, so it was simply being in the right place at the right time. I was kind of in a hurry, so I asked the gentleman who greeted me where I could find leaf blowers, and he knew instantly. I swear, they must take a test to memorize every aisle like that. Anyway, he was super friendly and very helpful. Well natrually, the batteries were near the leaf blowers, but probably by the tools, so off I go to another ailse. Like most places, everything is now locked up. Sad. I couldn't find the batteries anyway so had to ask someone. They were very helpful, told me what he had, suggeted which type, and I made my selection. Now, they are so scared of people walking off with merchandise, they can't even give it to me, but have to hold it at the self service registers. They even have to hold it until I pay (which I did with my Home Depot Credit Card, showing them that I'm a regular customer). They were nice about it, but I don't like the feeling of not being trusted. I get it that theft is rampent, but it's not the best feeling. Luckily, when I got home, I found I selected the right battery as it was exactly the same as the one which wore out, so that made me happy. read more

Ordered A chase online. The Item was coming from the same city as the delivery . I thought about picking up at store but I don't have a truck. I made the purchase 7/27 to be delivered They said it would be delivered between 7/30 and 7/31 they had me wait from 7/30 to 8/1 for this thing. On 8/1 tracking was saying it was out for delivery between 9am to 1pm . Checked at 2pm again to see where it was at only to say that it would be delivered Monday . Wasted 3 days waiting for that and than when i called to cancel it will take 2 days to cancel and 8 days to get my money and the rep was extremely careless about the conversation didn't want to do any research . No sooner than I place my online order that I get an email saying my order was canceled and a refund will be coming! Now I know they can be busier on the weekends but c'mon this was on a Sunday morning before ten am! This store was the most help out of any store that I've been to. I went to the Moreno Valley store and purchased items. Somehow the girl messed things up and the Riverside store was there to fix them no problem. I also ordered something online which was shipped wrong. The online and phone services were no help. Definitely time to update my review. This place continues to grow and change rapidly. Whole rows of items have been moved and the way they handle checkout is impressive. The store definitely gets hit with massive amount of traffic at times but I see more employees. I'm really impressed how much this location has improved. I wish I could rate the service for each employee differently. I asked a Big guy Kevin on aisle 9 for help with something and he looked at me like I was an idiot and just brushed me off. Then I went and found an employee named Fidencio and he was super helpful and patient. He actually took his time to figure out what I needed and then showed me where to find it. Came in today to get some screws. Wife and I walked into the hardware isle, half the isle is closed off and a scissor lift where I need to get to. On it is a mop haired kid talking to his Manager about not gossiping at work because it's "like the telephone game. It starts off and gets more fucked up as it goes on." Now while these two are busy talking, player 3 enters the game, she's stocking screws into parts bins; mind you while this is all going on,y wife an I are looking for a pack of screws. So player 3, rather big bones young lady, interjects to her manager (and yes he was boasting to them about being "The Hardware Manager" - still not sure what he was managing, - 10 minutes we stood there in a non-greeted posture, it was evident he wasn't managing d#ck) I regress, player 3, is bragging about how "cool it is to be in hardware as that's where everyone hides". (Obviously, I got 3 of the village idiots here, and no one is missing them). So, wife and I look at each other, still waiting for the "Manager" to either greet us, ask us if we need help, or make eye contact. Nothing. He just walks on by..but says Hello, to the gentlemen who just walked into the isle. Home Depot Corp, if you're missing a Manger, and a few employees, I can tell you, they're all hiding out in hardware. It's where you go, to not do anything, including helping customers. Go to any other Home Depot in the Inland Empire but this one. 1) Employees are rude, discourteous, and overall unhelpful 2) When asking to speak to the manager they "call the big guy" as if I'm there to start a fight or be intimidated by anyone and 3) The store manager follow up is a joke - she only does it because she has to, not because she's genuinely interested in getting to the root of the problem and doing anything about it.
