My aunt and I went to Hobby Lobby to obtain decorations for an "Elevated fall" vibe in our living room/ dining room area back at home. Boy oh boy do I love me some Hobby Lobby! I feel like the selection at this Riverside location was better than Rancho Cucamonga location. Was here today NYE 2025 at 12:30pm. My son was looking for this specific item and a couple employees had already sent us to the toys with no guidance. We scoured to no avail. Then he asks Brendan at the back of the store. Brendan walked us all the way back to almost the front middle of the store to a random hot wheel end cap where they were. We would've never found it! Alicia was helping customers by directing them to different checkout lanes to keep things moving smoothly. My mom and I, along with the woman behind us, were told to go to lane 3. We followed the instructions, but when we moved, Alicia said we had cut in front of the woman behind us and claimed she never told us to go to lane 3. We explained that we were just following her instructions, and she argued that she never told us to move, even though she clearly pointed at us and the woman behind us. The woman behind us agreed with us, so Alicia gave up and walked away. Then, there was another customer in front of us who was taking a while, so Alicia opened the register to our left and served the customer behind us instead of us, even though we were next in line. Alicia was loudly talking so we could hear her, saying that we cut in front of the woman behind us and was talking badly about us. We had to stand up for ourselves again. I honestly only really go here for their art supplies, they often have better prices than Michael's (art store). During the times I go here, I never have trouble finding what I need, but what drags down the time in store is the line. Obviously, depending on the time you go the store the line length differs, but almost all the times I've been there the im forced to a wait in an 10-to-20 minute line just for 2 items. I rarely have openly friendly service at Hobby Lobby. At any location. Side note: The old school management style is fear based, ie "If you don't do it this way, you'll get in trouble." I even thought it might be a fun place to work - I lasted 3 days because of the negative energy and communication style. I was happily surprised when I went in yesterday and the front end manager was cheerfully welcoming. I can usually find what I'm looking for at HL but I do prefer specific products (i.e., fabrics, silk florals, etc.) at Joan's and other products (e.g., frames, presentation/display boards, etc.) from Mike's. If I need inspiration or affordable decor for an event, I know HL is the place to find items. Pro-Tip: Use their "Regular Priced Item" coupons on items like scotch tape, storage boxes, etc. Definitely worth stopping in to take a peep if you've never been inside HL. I love this location and I really like all the staff. But! This is completely uncalled for. Went to use the restroom this morning around 9:30 (Sept 2nd 2020)...mind you, they open at 9 am. So! When was the last time bathrooms were cleaned? This is disgusting and management should be embarrassed!!!! In the pictures, all the DARK SPOTS you see on the wall are POOP. That is DISGUSTING. Lesson learned: look at prices online first. The items I purchased were labeled 3.99 and 4.99, which is twice what it is on their website for the same exact item. And sure, you're like, who cares it's just a dollar? But it starts to add up when you're buying a bunch of these for a project. The CSM was not willing to price match (claimed item was not coming up in their system so couldn't see original price, internet is slow in the store I guess?) and I was kicking myself for not looking it up online (it was 2.99 online). At least the store seems clean and parking is easy to find, otherwise dealing with their customer service in the store was an unpleasant experience. Fabulous store! Huge selection, excellent prices! The Moreno Valley store is gigantic, there is so much there to choose from! Used to be Jo-Ann's and Michaels was my 'go-to first' store, but now it's Hobby Lobby. It's always a pleasure to shop in this beautiful, well laid out, clean and fantastic store! I even enjoy the music they play, its soothing and at the perfect level, there is nothing more obnoxious than walking into a store and music blasting and pounding so loud you can't even hear yourself think. I was there last week and picked up some beautiful Christmas ornaments, kitchen farmhouse decor, and found many great bargains in the clearance aisle to boot! Great prices on so many items, too. The cashier Tracy K., who is White, I'm sensing she felt uncomfortable, not as friendly and hurriedly scanning my merchandise as compare to the previous customer who happen to be White as she was very friendly with her, taking the time and talking to her. Tracy found a previous used old wrinkle plastic Hobby Lobby bag with small holes inside the new plastic bags and decided to use this old bag with small holes to place my merchandise, I felt at this point Tracy action was racist. Hello, my name is Wendy Mejia. Earlier today (3/20/23) I had an incident at a Hobby Lobby store and I called to report my issue but I also want a chance to put my complaint in writing so I'm deciding to post this here. This incident occurred at the Hobby Lobby with the address 2663 Canyon Springs Pkwy, Riverside, CA 92507. I was in the store between the opening time of 9:00am - 9:20 am. This incident involves an African American manager by the name of Letoya or Latoya. As I entered the store I grabbed a cart and looked at the items positioned in the entrance of the store. I found two chargers I was interested in purchasing and put them in my cart (one charger was pink and one was blue). Each worth $9. As I was looking at the items near the entrance I saw a manager speaking to a young associate and they were looking my way. Next thing I know they were behind me. I had this feeling that they were talking about me. I assumed that the manager told the young associate to follow me around the store. It's opening hours so I know that there's not many people in the store at this time. As I was looking around the store and walking through different aisles I noticed this young associate was following me. Every corner I turned, I saw her face looking at me. It's a big store and coincidentally she was in every aisle that I happened to be. I did not feel comfortable shopping as I felt like I was being watched and followed. After some time I approached the manager in the fabric section of the store and I asked her if she had this associate follow me around the store. She stuttered and said "It's her job, she's working." In a calm demeanor, and an even tone I tried to explain my rationale for why I felt I was being watched and followed and anytime I tried to get a word out she kept rudely interrupting me and saying "She's working. She's working.She's working." She said this countless times and did not let me speak. She kept getting louder every time she said this. This happened at the fabric section of the store in front of a couple of other employees. Maybe 5 other employees including the young associate who was following me. She then told me, "If you feel like someone's following you, you can feel free to leave and if you feel followed that's sus (suspicious) of you." I felt embarrassed, humiliated, and talked down on in front of a bunch of Hobby Lobby employees and customers. She was basically accusing me of being a suspicious customer and implying that I was shoplifting. I walked away as I no longer felt like shopping in the store. I told her, "I was just asking a simple question and you're not giving me an answer." I walked towards the front and asked to speak to a manager, I was told she was the manager. She then approached me and I told her that it was not ok how she kept interrupting me and not letting me explain myself. I approached her calmly and I couldn't voice my concerns to her as someone in a management position without her being defensive and passive aggressive. I told her that she still didn't answer my question, "Did you ask that girl to follow me?" And she said, "She's working." Once again with attitude. I calmly told her, "Ok, I'll take that as a yes since you're not saying no." I told another associate that I'd be calling corporate to report this issue and if I could get the managers name and that's when she said her name is Letoya or Latoya. In this situation I felt racially profiled, I was not in the store for longer than 2 minutes when I was already being followed. I am a young Hispanic woman, and there were three other white people entering the store around the same time that I did but I was the only one being followed. This manager did not address the issue I presented to her and reacted in an unprofessional manner. This had an impact on me, as a special education teacher who comes into this store to buy supplies and materials for my classroom, I felt unwelcomed and it's unlikely that I'll return to this store. It's unfortunate because I've been a customer of this store for years, around 4 years but I don't feel comfortable returning to this store after she embarrassed and humiliated me in front of multiple store employees. This manager's body language, actions, and tone said more than her words. She refused to answer my question and I firmly believe she did have that young associate follow me. I don't believe I deserved this treatment, especially since I've been a loyal Hobby Lobby customer for years. I wanted to make sure I got all of this down in writing in case future or past customers share a similar experience with this manager, Letoya/Latoya. read more

I was just at this hobby lobby in morano valley and was wanting to purchase some cross stitch kits that were on a wall marked 75% off, no other specifications were posted on the sign. I had several kits that had a yellow tag and several that did not, they were all in the same area mixed together. When I got to the register to pay the cashier got confused and had to call a manager whom I showed the wall and sign to, this person also was confused and had to call the store manager, Felicia, whom was extremely snobby to me refused to honor the advertised price.
