First, I think it is so unprofessional when the male manager yells at the employees on the sales floor. I witnessed him yelling at two employees in front of customers. He yelled at one employee where they duplicate the keys, and he was yelling at another employee in the plumbing section. Second, I felt discriminated against. An employee was racially profiling me. An employee was following me throughout the store, watching everything I picked up and put down, not helping any other customer, just looking at me. I just felt very uncomfortable.

The prices for most items are competitive with big box stores-- items like PVC pipe, wood filler, and hardware are cheaper at Altadena Hardware in a side-by-side comparison to big box stores. If you purchase materials like wood or pipe, they can cut it for you for transport! The selection of paint, hardware, garden supplies, light bulbs, power tools, adhesives, and most other typical household hardware needs are excellent. Based on size, they don't stock as much lumber or appliances as big box stores. Very helpful -- they do cartridge exchange for Soda Stream!! And have many options of Soda Stream flavorings. She rang me with a smile on her face and asked if I needed anything else while the first associate ignored our whole interaction. The difference between the first associate and Destiny is what keeps businesses afloat or lets them sink with terrible customer service.
