Ace Hardware is the place to go when your mind is creating. You know what you need for the project but you just not putting it together. When I got there I told the lady in the front what I was looking for, she directed me to the aile, told me someone will come help me. Someone did. He was a big help. Deeply disappointed during my last visit. I always try to give my business to Ace instead of the big stores, as I like supporting my local small businesses. I have always received good customer service, knowledgeable help. Sadly, today was not just lack of customer service, but when I attempted to ask an employee one simple question, I was ignored and the other employee said "he was busy with corporate!" There was another employee I attempted to ask for help, but he completely ignored me. There was another customer who also was trying to get help, but apparently he too was ignored because he raised his hands in the air and said, "I guess nobody can help!" I ended up picking up my items, and took back what I brought in to repair, and will need to get them done elsewhere, sadly. I realize, you can't get helped right away all of the time, and that is not my complain, but rather those who couldn't at least say "I'm sorry, we Will be with you in a moment " or just acknowledge my existence and not tell me "corporate" is more important! read more

Ryan at Ace hardware...wow! I had a shower handle that I was ready to replace because I thought I needed a set screw that I couldn't find over at Home Depot. Ryan took the time to explain to me how my handle works. It was a .75 cent sale. It was...spectacular. Ryan is probably still a teenager or in his early twenties His generation gets a lot of crap from my generation so I want to give him his flowers. Ace is lucky to have him and his parents should be proud. No matter what he does in life Ryan is going to be successful. It can be with Ace or anything else he chooses. Folks here are just bend-over-backward helpful. They'll do everything they can to help you. We had an issue with a copy of a key and although it took three tries, they got us a copy that opened our door with no problems. We appreciated their tenacity and determination to assist their customers. Their selection of items is pretty good, and if something is unavailable, they always offer us alternatives or suggestions as to where to get it. We've been coming to this store ever since we moved to San Dimas years ago and the employees are the reason we keep coming back. The store had stock everywhere on the floor made it very difficult to find things. But the customer service was excellent.

Talk about GREAT service!! I needed a new screen for our kitchen window. So, to save money I measured myself then brought the measurements to Ace Hardware. A few days later, they called to let me know my screen was ready so I went in and picked it up. But when I got home, it was about 1/2 inch too big. This was my fault, since I was the one who measured and they made the screen based off of my measurements. I figured I was going to have to order a new screen and pay again. Because again, this was my fault. I brought the screen to Ace and told Curt that I had measured wrong and it was too big, so if he could please order me a new one that was 1/2 shorter in width that would be great. He said he could do me one better and offered to take my current screen, cut it down by the 1/2 inch, then re-assemble it. I said that would be great! He said if I had a few minutes, he'd be happy to do it right then and there. I told him even better! Curt proceeded to take apart my screen, cut it down by 1/2 inch, then put it back together so that it looked better than when I brought it in. I couldn't believe the great service! I asked him how much the charge was & he said no charge. Wow, that was totally unexpected. So instead of going home with a receipt and waiting a few days for a new screen to be made, I went home with the screen already done and ready to be put into my kitchen window. And not only did Curt do this service for me on the spot, he was also super friendly and didn't make me feel bad for him doing this for me (some places like to make you feel like you're putting them out for doing things). I usually buy most hardware type things off of Amazon. But because of Curt's above and beyond service and kind service, my new first choice to purchase hardware supplies will be San Dimas Ace Hardware! Thanks again Curt! read more

Great store! The customer service was great and the selection was too. The building is nice and the store is organized well.

Narrow aisles packed top to bottom with merchandise. Old school hardware store with astoundingly very helpful dedicated employees quick to assist you with your projects. Even horse troughs for the San Dimas ranchers displayed outside their store. Reminded me of the ol' fashioned farm hardware stores when I lived up in Canada. Highly recommended. I'm so in love with Ace Hardware. So lucky in San Dimas to be able to walk to a cute cool little local hardware store where you can find almost anything you need. Even if I don't need anything, I love to wonder the isles and look for little gadgets--ok I'm an Ace addict. The people who work here are always so helpful and almost always available and knowledgable. One visit a woman even sat on the floor and looked through locks with me to find the exact one I wanted! Often prices at small stores have to be a bit higher, but I've found that in general Ace is pretty close in price to my local Lowe's and Home Depot. Visiting Ace is like going back in time to some small town in the Midwest, but better because it's here in sunny CA! PS If you like pretzels and marinaded snacks, you've got to dry Dot's Pretzels. A bit expensive, but well worth it. I just bought a large bag for my holiday guests to snack on. read more

I got a bed frame from Offer Up and also transitioning with living arrangements has just been a nothing less than an absolute headache. Going through building this bed it was a challenge but then I got to the middle support beam for the bed frame and two of the posts were just unbelievably stripped inside. My step dad and I walked into Ace and talked with a gentleman named Ray. In all honesty I was afraid that he was going to hand of pieces and tell us to do it ourselves, that thought coming to mind because thats how other places like Home Depot treat you. Anyways, Ray was giving us some options of what we could do l and within talking about it more, he told both me and my step dad to follow him. Ray looked for this piece for a bit of time but in such a way that he wasn't going to give up. Bless Ray he found the piece and told us to follow him again. We went further back into the shop and he made sure that we got the right teeth in that post to have me not fall through my bed for the next while haha. Thank you Ray for your help good sir. I had to take the time to write this review because of the incredible service and kind assistance I received from Ace hardware store in San Dimas. As soon as I walked in, Curt became available to me. He answered my questions in a short/concise manner and quickly found the exact parts I needed to connect my refrigerator to my water source under the sink, and even took the time to show me how to connect each part; I was very confident that I could complete my project at home upon hearing his explanation. I had to go to Lowe's three separate times at two different locations while sometimes waiting 15 minutes for nobody to come and assist me. When they finally did become available they were of no help whatsoever as I walked out of the store more confused and with parts that were the wrong size and fit. I had the complete opposite experience at this ace hardware store. Every employee was wearing a mask, I felt safe and welcomed. I definitely will be coming back to this store, almost exclusively, for all of my home-improvement needs. Thank you for all of your help, especially you Curt! read more

I have never been to a more friendly store than this place. It's a feeling where they just treat you like family even though it was only my first time. From the lady at the door with a warm greeting and after knowing I'm here to pickup a online order, she directed me to the back and she spoke to the back person with her intercom to let them know I'm coming. When I walked to the back, the man who gave me my order explained to me in detail making sure I ordered the right component for my breaker.
