Terrible service by Maria the shift supervisor. We had 3 large items to purchase and 2 of them needed delivery because of the size. It clearly states in the ticket item we can place a special order at the store and she and her leader had no idea what their store was advertising she stated "we don't know what that means" so how can she be a supervisor?? Also, there's no home delivery? For a 1 ton Crane or a metal cutting band saw? That's ridiculous. Employees should be knowledgeable!! Home Delivery should be offered at this store. read more

This was just a quick purchase of tape I needed for a project. I just wanted to note the great customer service and help I received in a 15 minute visit. I asked for location I could find some tape and immediately had one of the representatives walk me over to the aisle and asked if I needed anything else. When I checked out Ali the manager greeted me with a smile and asked if I needed the holiday discount which was great when everyone could use a break. She helped me register my account and was very pleasant. It's not often I get any customer service at all in any of the competitors stores and a discount. When I saw the bin for I was looking for was looking for EMPTY, I figured I must have once again followed an unforeseeable trend in this weird time. As I was leaving empty handed, Shay said "you couldn't find something?" I told her that it seems that garage mats must be the cure for COVID because like TP there was a run on them. She laughed (a sure sign of a customer service oriented individual not to mention someone with a stellar sense of humor) and then directed me to the display stash and assured me the HF would be fine with me buying THEM ALL. You couldn't find a worker on the floor. They would zoom right by you so you can't catch them to ask anything. Finally go to check out and Kendall had the worst customer service! This place may not be as big as Home Depot or Lowes, but they have a lot of simple tools the everyday person needs for around the house. I've been coming to their various locations for years and have always been happy with what they carry. Granted, they don't always carry the best quality items, but for simple projects, it's definitely enough. The prices are very reasonable. Visit this location for the first time. As soon as I walked in I was greeted. I noticed they had a parking garage sale. I was looking at the Jack's, when I was ask if I needed help by Ray. Ray was amazing. He was very helpful. He explain about their sales and and showed me a few options. As in walked around I also noticed how clean the store was, and how faced everything was. "Bait and switch"! Totally dishonest! The bad news is now you "MUST" have a list of "sale item coupon numbers" or a photocopy/print of EACH item! Without that, Harbor Freight will NOT honor it's online "sale" items! HF can EASILY update all register pricing, instead we are charged FULL PRICE ~ "sale" or not! Here is more: I bought a air compressor that was defective right out of the box! I returned it for a exchange a week later and the clerk tried to bill me for a "restocking fee"! of course I refused to pay it and he had to call a 'manager' to delete that charge. My compressor "was a sale" item but the clerk insisted on charging me full price even with my original receipt saying, "That sale is over now"! read more

Christmas Eve, signs outside say open til 8:00. However doors were locked @ 5:00 . They would not let me in to buy one last gift for my daughters for Christmas. Despite the fact that they had two shoppers with carts full of tools the would not make an exception to let me in to get the one item I need to complete my shopping list. So, HF doesn't have the best track record when it comes to quality and durability, but for the price, their stuff is more than acceptable. If you're looking for tools to ABUSE for years to come, you might want to look elsewhere, but most of the tools that I've bought here have saved me money and kept up to what I've thrown at them. I quite enjoyed this location. It is very clean, neat, and quiet. Not too many people I think will go here and instead opt for the always busy Home Depot when they hop off the 210 freeway. I had a very good experience. Got in and out in under 10 minutes. The staff was nice and offered help if I needed. The store was well organized. Check out their ad every once in a while. After driving 25 minutes to the store, I arrived a couple of minutes past 8 PM to find the manager standing guard at the door not allowing anyone through. He told me they closed at 8. I asked him if he could make a one time exception, as yelp says they are open until 9PM, I drove quite a long distance, and I only needed one item + knew exactly where it was. He said no, rather rudely I might add by questioning where I had driven from and stating that I should have gone to a different store that was closer. (I didn't go to that store because it said they closed at 8PM, I came to your store because it said you closed at 9PM.) The registers weren't closed or anything like that; it was 8:06PM and THERE WERE STILL PEOPLE STANDING IN LINE. It took the manager more time to speak with me pleading my case than it would have to let me through, and now they have lost me as a customer for life. It's things like this that leave me kicking myself for shopping at major chain stores where the employees do not care in the slightest rather than a locally owned hardware store. Up until today I've been very very pleased with the store, how it's run, the personnel and their overall treatment of me, and the clean open appearance. However today my experience, and therefore my opinion, changed a bit and I'm hoping it'll be changed once again another day. I bought a digital safe which never has worked so I wanted to exchange it, but I was told they didn't have any at the moment and to come back the following week to see if they had come in. So I went in today to, leaving the other at home to avoid unnecessary lugging, and I didn't see any on the shelf. I was asked what I needed and I told them and they seem to locate one in the back. But when the clerk brought it out it didn't look the same, it had a different picture of the safe on the box, and stated my concern that it might not be the same safe I was dismissed and was told it was the same. So I went back home and got the safe and upon returning it to the manager she Acknowledged that it had a different item number, that there wasn't anymore like that, but that she could call around and find if there's any at another store. I felt my heart starts racing a bit and I began to get upset. After going back-and-forth with her for a few minutes about how I was just told it was that it was the right safe and did it have the same features etc. , she started to get upset with me and miss Margarita Manager got very short with me. But it was through this back-and-forth that I figured out and she finally said it was the same safe but it just looks different because there is two different vendors that make the safe. You know if somebody would've told me that to begin with and took the time to tell me that although it looked different, because it was a different vendor, it was the same safe then maybe iI would've understood what was going on, but no they did not take the time to listen to my concerns nor help me. And when I see how the manager treated me I understand now why the employees directly under her treated me like that. People are only as good as the management, and this Margarita/Maggie is not a very good manager, she doesn't talk to the customers right, and she lacks the communication skills and the overall people skills that are needed in a manager, and when dealing with the public. read more
