I love coming to this store when I need lumber- service level is excellent and getting them to make your cuts at no extra charge is the best - my only comment is sometimes the staff simply can't count properly- I can in asking for several pieces to be cut a certain size -- I had to help the staff figure out what size lumber was needed or how many cuts out of a 12 piece - nice guys with great service but needed help with math - read more

Watch out for the lady in the front , I believe her name was Elizabeth . Makes some uneasy comments making you feel uncomfortable but you don't think about it and just when she thinks you can't hear her she's saying some pretty horrible vile things. I heard Cali had a lot of fake people but man does this lady take the cake . This business seems complacent with her being a representative of there store so I wouldn't recommend read more

If you looking for common supplies, just a little bit more but less crowded than home depot or Lowes.

First time going here to get a last minute emergency part for home repairs. They were kind and helpful and the price was right! Would definitely return. Thank you! read more

Knowledgeable staff and great selection of hardwoods. The prices are consistently a little more than a conventional, chain (no pun intended) hardware store, but I'm willing to pay a little more to stimulate my local economy. read more

My husband & I went here on August 1 and spotted a yard person who was very friendly and helpful, regardless of our communication differences (he didn't speak English and we didn't speak Spanish). My husband showed him that he was looking for "scrap pieces" of wood, cut offs left behind from wood that had already been paid for once, by another customer. When he was taken to this pile, my husband found a few pieces and asked the guy how much, the guy kept telling him poquito and showing him with finger gestures as very little. So my husband figured out what pieces he could make work as blocks for under a car, then the yard person and him went to find someone to give my husband a price. An older Hispanic man, that we think normally works in the office on the phones, strutted out of the office like he owned the place, looked at the scrap pieces, looked at my husband and said that it would be $45. My husband nearly fell over. It was like he was quoting prices for brand new lumber, not scrap cut offs. My husband tried to reason with him several times, but he wouldn't budge. So after all the time spent selecting the pieces that would work, under the premise of poquito, this man would rather have us leave with nothing and make nothing, holding firm on trying to get nearly full price, so we left and went to see what Lowes had. Once there we bought a 6 x 6 x 8 piece of un-weathered brand new lumber (exactly what he needed) for $47.75. The guy at C&E obviously just wanted to play hardball. Which turned out fine for us, where in the end C&E made a customer very unhappy and sent us to their competitor. In the future, when we get ready to remodel or for any other projects, C&E will not be the place where we shop. That guy is definitely doing the owners of C&E a disservice by playing hardball on reselling SCRAP PIECES, instead of working with a customer, who came to you in the first place, when he had many other options. This is not how C&E stayed in business for over 70 years, with this one employee's way of doing business. https://www.lowes.com/pd/6-in-x-6-in-x-8-ft-Douglas-Fir-Lumber-Common-5-652-in-x-5-652-in-x-8-ft-Actual/1000009798?gStoreCode=1041&gQT=1 read more

C & E Lumber and Hardware - Hardware Stores Near Me - Pomona, California

This is the only local hardware store. I like to run here if I just need a screw or one thing. There is one employee. Black slicked hair and tattoos on his neck. He's weird and creepy. Not helpful. As he was walking me to the back to get a bag of gravel he first commented on my body. "You look like you work out" and then "you look like you do Kung foo." Creepy, racist, and weird. Made the walk to the gravel uncomfortable. I literally never want to see this guy again, so I just go to Ace Hardware in San Dimas instead. read more

I wish I could give no stars!!! So I go buy a spray stick and I noticed it was probably broken but I took it to try it out any way . So prior to buying it I pointed that out to the manager and he said if it doesn't work bring it back... so I proceeded to buying it cash and sure enough I tried it out and it didn't work so I immediately went back and asked for my refund!! Well the short lady at the register gave my receipt back with no cash and I stood there waiting for my cash back... after I seen she wasn't giving me cash I then asked about my refund where she told me it's back on my credit card!!!! Then I asked her I paid cash what credit card and she got a major attitude with me !!! Then I asked what credit card did you refund and she called me a DICK right in front of her manager!!!!!! Wow!!! No apologies or nothing!!!!! I'm a local resident i buy to support local businesses but never will i fucken go buy from this store again!!!! read more

Great lumber and hardware store. Prices are pretty close or the same to the big box places, but a much nicer experience. I ordered two doors and the sales person kept me up to date on the delivery via phone calls. Definitely will be patronizing them again soon! read more

C & E Lumber and Hardware - Door installed to replace old door. Solid wood masonite laminated door. - Hardware Stores Near Me - Pomona, California

This local gem is amazing. Tremendous, knowledgeable service from the staff, and a surprisingly large selection of items I need for taking care of my home. This place is VASTLY SUPERIOR to the big box stores (At HD & Lowe's - impossible to find an employee to help you!). Prices are maybe a hint higher, but it goes to help a FAMILY RUN BUSINESS, not a corporate monster. C&E is my first choice hardware store. read more

My favorite spot. Reminds me of a small town shop who is willing to go above and beyond for you when you need the little extra help.

Good place to get all types of wood products, a legit yard with raw materials and a hardware store inside. The staff seem honest and hardworking, I like supporting businesses like C&E Lumber rather than the big corporate machines. read more

Having a local lumber yard and hardware store is awesome. Even though I drive all the way from Temecula you can't beat the service and selection. The selection is of products are solid as you are not goi g to find the " cheap " Chinese crap here. The wood and species collection is awesome and if c and e doesn't have it they can get it with in days not months. Also if you need specialty cuts or a cut at all they can do it and you don't have to call some one to get special service. There is no grade 3 wood going on here. After 3 generations there is something to be said about local service. The big box stores can't compete. BUY LOCAL! read more

My son-inlaw told me about C&E Lumber and Hardware and I am grateful. It is a pleasure to shop there. The staff goes out of their way to be helpful. Great place. Staff are knowledgeable and helpful. They go above and beyond. I bought some live wood pine to make a table.

I choose to support local business. And this place has always been the spot for all my hardware needs. However they have a new counter person Theresa who just makes things miserable. This lady has no people skills. she is rude and unapproachable she should not be the face of this business. I have always felt welcome and appreciated until recently. Employees like Theresa make me reconsider my business and support for C&E Lumber. read more

Was in a hurry and dropped by on a chance they would have what I needed. I'm so glad I did! I've been conditioned by the big orange box to disappointed every time I walk in the door. Not here! They have IT ALL, and if they don't, they can get it for you. Everyone is so knowledgeable and eager to help. I won't be going to the big box stores anymore. Not too sure why they have such a high average review. I went it was completely unsatisfied by the lack of effort by everyone there. I came back here to see if i was just a one off but it seems like a few others felt the same way and i still was considering giving them a second chance. That was until i read thier responses to the people leaving poor comments it seems like they would love to give a response that blames anyone but them or they just say that they never responded i also ended up going to homedepot and recieved much better service and pricing. read more

My experience, employees at C&E Lumber are helpful and friendly. They cut my wood to order and made sure there was no waste. Allowed me to marry up 2 orders into a single delivery. Loss of 1 star because order was originally delivered on wrong date and not cut. However, they realized the error and took wood back, cut it and delivered on correct date. In addition, I questioned their delivery driver about something on my order. When he arrived back at lumber yard he IMMEDIATELY investigated for me and called back addressing my question. Summary is, besides the delivery error, CE Lumber made good on all their agreements and delivered a quality product and addressed all my concerns. read more
