I stopped by Lowe's in Upland to pick up bubble wrap to store my Christmas decorations. It took a little time to find the right area and someone to help, but the associate I spoke with was helpful and pointed me to where I could find what I needed. I was able to find exactly what I was looking for and purchased two rolls, though I did feel the price was a bit high. I used the self-checkout, which was open and easy to use. What a shame! This store is out of my area but I wanted a change so I visited this location. Two male employees (one balding and one long haired) were having a conversation in the power tool area. After finding an item I liked (electric screw driver), I wanted to ask question. I approached them assuming one would ask if I needed help. I stood by, 5 ft away, making eye contact with (balding guy) as they conversed. The conversation continued. I finally had to interrupt them and asked if I can get information on an item. The one I made eye contact with (balding guy) literally rolled his eyes at me! Unbelievable. As I walked 3 steps back to the locked cage the item was in I was shocked to see them Both walk away in the opposite direction! They walked to the main isle and stopped, looking at an unknown item. I started to look for another employee to help me when the long haired one finally walked over to me. Hopefully none of them were a supervisor! It's been a nightmare situation: I purchased to be delivered a 40 gallons water heater mid January 2026. It was delivered and it was severely damaged. I took a second trip to the store and I asked for a 50 gallons heater instead of the 40 gallons one and to pick up the damaged one. Next day, Since the installer was at the house, we took a trip to store, purchase a 50 gallons unit and installed it. The 50 gallons unit was delivered 2 days later in my absence, BUT the 40 gallons was not picked up. I called and they picked up the 50 gallons, but NOT the 40 gallons unit. After another call, they picked the damaged 40 gallons unit. So, you owe me a refund for a water heater. I spoke multiple times with various customer service people and store supervisors. 3/25/24 Hubby has a new project he's working on and I'm a bit skeptical but I will go along with it....as long as it doesn't turn into a disaster...LOL. He's been doing his research and we've discussed the pros & cons of having our pool care done by professionals vs on our own. So we're at Lowe's looking for a sump pump to drain the pool (to start anew). Thankfully we found an employee to inquire where to find the pumps. Done. Now we'll see how this all goes down.... 4/10/24 So Hubby has been draining the pool a little bit at a time coz it's time consuming & it's loud enough to bother some neighbors. Now we're looking for a more effective garden hose coz the one we had were not as effective. One had a hole so it leaked (our old one). So Hubby had to buy another one but that wasn't as sturdy. The pressure of the pump would compress it & would only duck a little bit at a time. Went to Harbor Freight but we thought Lowe's would have more or better hoses...wrong. I have been in and out of this store so many times to look at prices and things needed for the home or to repair it. I like going here because it's easier to find a worker to get some help, unlike another store that has orange color. I was in a decent rush to find my item I needed to get yesterday. I can't remember the guys name, but he was very helpful and thorough when he led me to the door lock and dead bolt set of two I purchased as well as he also gave me some comparison knowledge of similar or upgraded products. Kudos to that guy for knowing product location and information. I got up to the scan it yourself check out, scanned, paid with card, and was out the door all within five minutes! Holy crap!! Avoid this Lowe's at all costs. The customer service is atrocious!! I placed an order for 12 cases of tile. The in store display says "7 days or less". The online estimate was for 5 days. 5 days came and no update. I called the store and was told they don't know where it was then was told that the tile was going to arrive almost a week later. I asked to talk to a manager because that was totally unacceptable. The female manager picks up the phone and is immediately hostile towards me. I explain what's going on and she essentially shrugs it off and goes "well it's estimated and it said that". I ask then why is your online site and in store advertisement for 7 days or less. No where on the sign does it say "estimate". She has ZERO interest in attempting to apologize for this and goes as far to say well it's corporate's fault the sign says that. I explain that I have a job to do and was relying on those tiles and she then says "we why would you have planned work if you don't have the product". Um because the product should have been here by now! She then said "well it's coming Tuesday so what else do you want?". She said she'll transfer me to corporate because I bought the tile online it it's just an estimated delivery (refusing to acknowledge that the signs says 7 days or less) and I asked for her name she ignored me then transferred me. For a company that relies on contractor business they certainly seem to hate their patrons. From the website to the store this whole process has been a horror show. Wish I had that terrible manager's name so I can put it here but I guess when you're that bad at your job you don't want people to be able to identify you. read more

When I put it in my cart, is asked if I wanted to keep that day or schedule one 10 days after that. Why? kept my date & purchased. As the date neared I got an email from Lowes: Dryer delayed 10 days to prior optional date. Hours later, I got a call from Lowes pushing it back still another week! Never deal with the assistant manager Victoria. She lied to me and said there weren't any other girl managers when Gaby is clearly one and I've spoken to her multiple times. Victoria is beyond rude and unprofessional. Our company spends about 150-200k a year with Lowe's and this store in particular is one of the biggest headaches when it comes to returns and customer service. I have had to return a few items 5 different times over various months and every time I go to return the return desk can never find my products, I have to pull up my Lowe's app and show them my purchases, then all of a sudden Ohhhh we can find it now. I waste 20-45 minutes every time at the return desk because their system and employees are too incompetent to look through our list of products purchased correctly. Also most of the employees are very young and not knowledgeable about construction material. You will find employees huddled together in the lumber and concrete isle talking about what they are having for lunch instead of helping customers. read more

I've tried switching over to Lowe's even though I've had issues in the past with having a pro account and it not showing up however, I gave them the benefit of the doubt. However, today's reaction makes me want to go elsewhere. I've had to deal with this associate Leah on several occasions. She's very rude, very abrupt and not very friendly whether she's in the paint department, hardware department, or returns! In the past, I've had many problems with the micro account having multiple accounts with my name and phone number listed two or three times. When they started the program, I decided to give them a try again because I need my receipts on file in case I have to return . It didn't show up in my account, it didn't work on any of the cards that I use and whenever I use the system, I pull up my member ID and scan it on the machine. It's not my fault that their system has a glitch and loses receipts every now and then Where I can't even get credit! This is ridiculous! I will definitely be shopping elsewhere! I was at the Lowes in Upland, CA. Yesterday Saturday August 17th at around 9:30am-9:45am. I walked in and asked the employee where i could get some propane. I was rudely answered by the employee which is the older woman with the white hair in the pictures. She said "Go pay for it"..... seriously this doesn't answer my question, and what kind of answer is that? no shit I have to pay for it. I didn't think I was getting it for free. The associates they hire for these departments clearly don't want to work for Lowes and they're service doesn't align with the Mission statement for Lowes - To provide the best products, services, and prices to be the go-to home improvement store. Jes in gardening gave me such grief after she asked me to raise the back of grass seed to the counter to scan. I requested that she lift it due to my back pain. She sighed and displayed attitude, resorted to lifting the back and dropping it on the counter out of dismay. I was left with aghast and she replied with a condescending question, "are you ready?" I asked her if this is how she handles transactions with customers, and she replied, "pretty much". I informed her that this transaction was something else. Again with a smug attitude, she stated, "yeah, I'm special!" I requested a manager and she merely told me that she would ensure that Jes' supervisor would pull her in to question her. Never was there any mention that the service, or lack thereof, was not condoned. This place is not full toxic employees but the rotten ones stink the most and need to be removed. The culture here lacks leadership and service and corporate should be notified if Upland expects this store to turn its attitude around. I will follow up to ensure the rot gets corrected. As a resident of Claremont I have used Lowe's for 28 yrs. Floral dept - plants are always in a trolley floating in water. I have complained numerous times. Check out - no one to check out. I ask a manager if there was anyone and she just stared. Nursery dept - told to hold and never returned. 3 of many poorly handled issues. Services are diminishing but costing more. read more

BUYERS BEWARE!!!! ***Horrible experience with Mill works department... ordered interior doors, 9 doors all needed to be special ordered do to Sizes which made these doors ridiculously overpriced, ordered back in late August 2022 work was supposed to be done in October... here we are in APRIL 2023 (8months later) with our last set of doors, (3rd set ) they just can't seem to get them right!! Even with this last set they still had to sand a door down... we also experienced issues with the installers not installing them properly and damaging a lot of the door framing's with splitting and improperly screwing in the screws. We are still having issues with 1 of the doors not opening & closing properly, now we gotta pay someone to fix their negligence of work! Ugh what a nightmare!!! When we did expresse our frustrations to Lowe's some of the Lowes management seemed to careless like we were bugging them...What a waste of time & money... wished we went with Homedepot!!!!!!!! I went in for guidance, but the lady at the counter took it too personal. I did not appreciate your tone, or the way you spoke to me in front of other people. I am an adult that went in there with questions and left there with many more questions. OK up front... I have just spent the past 35 minutes wending my way through the Lowes customer avoidance phone lines. Eventually, I got a call back from someone who provided a deep dose of GAF "cultural enrichment", but no solutions. Next, I tried phoning the store directly and I got the same chirpy-voiced auto-attendant that sits guard over the corporate phones. AI: "What can I help you with today?" Me: "Answer the phone." AI: "I'm sorry, I didn't catch that..." WOW! I give up! -- AT ISSUE, these folks tend to place products on end-caps with clearance price tags, and then they 'forget' to update the pricing on the POS terminals. They've been doing this for at least 20 years. They got me again last night, a 2-piece Klein screwdriver set, $22.98, on sale for $17-something. I got home and looked at the receipt, yep, $22.98. -- Is it worth the time and aggravation to drive back to the store? No. Was it worth the time wasted chasing it this morning or writing this review? She helped me pick out mirrors, faucets, and a wall sconce for lighting that I needed. It turned out that the mirrors that I truly wanted was just too big for my wall space, so I had to order online from another company. Then Ruth helped me order a wall sconce from Lowe's.com because the type I was looking for wasn't available in store. However, luckily for me, the faucets that I liked were in stock. To be specific, I needed moving boxes. The first Lowes associate was friendly and helpful, but gave me the wrong directions. The second Lowes associate was able to point me into the right direction. But they definitely do not go above and beyond and show you the location, unlike other businesses I have been to. The heavy duty Large Box ($3.44/each) was right next to the regular Large Box ($1.65/each) and they look exactly the same. I almost grabbed the heavy duty boxes and they were really heavy, I couldn't even imagine carrying the box with items inside. I have no need for the heavy duty, the regular boxes were perfect so I grabbed 5. Yup... All I need to move is 5 boxes... 3 for kitchen stuff and 2 for bedroom stuff. I am a minimalist and avoid the hoarding as much as possible. As I checked out, my heart was filled with pain and internal struggle contemplating all of the sorrows in my life and I saw pepperspray by the check out stand... PINK pepperspray ($11.97)!!! I have zero need for it... but I bought it. I'll probably give it to my niece to keep her stylishly safe. Overall Lowes has your typical home needs. It is quick and convenient. I have had a Lowes and Home Depot business account for over 40 years with a Veteran status. I have been able to purchase whatever I needed and get my veteran discount, but since some idiot decided to limit what I purchased and got my veteran discount they are no longer truly honoring veterans. I recently purchased some simulated wood (plastic) for a small deck for approximately $660.00 along with some accessories at the Upland store, I only received a $13.00 discount with my veteran status, the decking material is not on the veteran list for a discount. Now they will tell you they do honor veterans but they are not when they limit what you can and can't get a discount on. About four months ago I went to Rancho Cucamonga store to make a small purchase, they not only wanted to see my veteran ID, which is ok, but also wanted to scan my drivers license to make the purchase, never mind that they had my 40 yr old account on file in front of them on their computer screen and both of my ID's in my hand. At that point I told them to FO and promptly went to Home Depot where I had no problem with my veteran status and discount. Lowes is NOT veteran friendly, I will only shop there as a last resort. So veterans before you buy from Lowes make sure what you want is on the veteran discount list. Oh, by the way, the guy who made the decision to stick it to us veterans, YOU ARE FIRED. I refuse to do business with Lowe's ever again! At both the Rancho Cucamonga location and the Upland location customer service lacks big time. I can never find anyone to help us. When I do speak to someone they are incredibly rude, short and not personable. We ordered a dishwasher online because the Memorial Day weekend they were slammed with guests in the appliance section. Got an email stating our dishwasher would be delivered the following Wednesday. I went back in because I got an email claiming my payment didn't go through to visit a local store to fix that. So I did. I can't remember the rude customer service attendant that told me my order wasn't in the system even though I provided him with the paperwork that showed my order # and everything. Then he said he'd need to redo the order and besides they were back ordered until late July on this particular dishwasher. I was livid! He was telling things completely different then what my paperwork showed. So he "supposedly" redid our order. My dishwasher was as delivered on the day mentioned in the email, but they only dropped it off! They had no order showing they were supposed to install it. Even tho my paperwork clearly stated I paid the $100+ for installation. So I contact Lowe's, they tell me my order wasn't supposed to be delivered yet that they would check on it. I get a call back the next day and am told we ordered two dishwashers. Um NO we didn't. Your inside sales rep ordered us a second one without telling us because he must be retarded. Then the employee on the phone tells me he can't refund the $1,000+ till our dishwasher comes in in July. Totally unacceptable!!! So anyway, we get it installed and we find out that there is no water entering the dishwasher period! It was going through the cycles but not actually getting our dishes wet once! The pump was defective. We call Lowe's, then call GE customer service, but they have to get back to us to set up that appointment because they don't have a service center on the West Coast! WHAT?!!!! How is that even possible?!! It's CA for Pete's sake. Anyway, we physically took it back and requested to speak up a manager to get our money back. Not once did they allow us to speak to a manager, and Chris the appliance sales guy I had been dealing with wasn't anywhere to be found. It took 30+ minutes to finally get our money back and it was the most frustrating experience I have ever had. It might not have taken that long, but the employee at returns, had to clue how to handle it. Second he was the one to keep answering the phones, and third, he was all over the place helping others instead of solely focusing on us. Overall our time in the returns line, plus our service, we ended up being the over an hour. Not again! We went to HD, ordered from there. Had it delivered in one week. Tuesday night I returned to complete my purchase, I did not wait, so went directly to customer service, they said that they would send somebody right there to help me that was 20 minutes ago. I went to the store to order a place set and I went to the service desk. He directed me to the garden department for assistance. I went to where I was directed ( Aisle 27) and was told someone would be there shortly. Two associates, both male were huddled around a computer terminal and one asked if I was the person looking for assistance and I said, "yes." He turned back to the computer and asked his partner what the answer was to a particular question. The associate then turned to me a second time and asked if I was the person looking for assistance. I again answered yes and again he turned away. The second associate, who appeared to be frustrated by my presence, sighed and asked what I needed. I told him I wanted to order a play set and he turned to his computer. In a sarcastic voice he asked if I had an item number, I said "no" to which he rolled his eyes but I explained I knew which model it was. This seemed to bother him even more. At this point I knew that he was not interested in helping me so I asked if it would be easier if I went home and ordered it online and he responded, "yes, we are busy completing our training and it would be easier." With that I left the store. I was extremely disappointed in the service I received and was even more surprised to see employees engaging in training on the store floor as opposed to being there to assist. Not to mention the cooperative test taking. Lowe's must be short on managers and maybe should institute a supervision by walking around program and a customer service program for employees.
