I always come to this store to buy my LED and specialty bulbs with the non-traditional bases (like GU24). The staff is very helpful and they stand behind their products. Last year I replaced all of the floodlights in my home with LED, however the manufacturer sold them a faulty product. They replaced all of the LEDs I purchased with a better product for free. That type of customer service you will not find in the big chain stores. I highly recommend. read more

Rarely do I enjoy such expert advice and service at various businesses, but I am sending a huge shout out and recommendation for this store. Simple need: I have six recessed lightbulbs from a 9-year old kitchen remodel, and four of them were not working. Googled 'Lightbulbs' and Siri guided me to this place from my home in La Verne. Kind of confusing to find the entrance to 'Lightbulbs', but found a door and realized it's all one giant place. I questioned a very pleasant guy on a ladder about 'where do I go for lightbulbs?', and he immediately stepped down and accompanied me over to where he found the perfect replacement bulbs which were an absolute match, but a much lighter (weight wise) version. Info on the original LED bulb was barely readable, but he found what turned out to be perfect replacements. Upon arrival home, I replaced the non-working bulbs with the new ones which are an absolute match in brightness and look. Amazingly, the final bill was only $23.98 (including tax), which is just under $6 for each bulb. According to the box, these LED lights could last up to 22 years. I hope I'm around to see that when I'm 91 years old! Wait: There's more! This place is filled with every type and style of high-end lighting, so if you're in the mood to re-do any room or entry-way lighting, check out what they have. But again, I was so impressed with the expertise of the associate. I didn't catch his name, but his initials may be RM. On my receipt it lists the 'Writer' as RM. read more

I would like to send a big thank you and recommendation to Isaac. Last Friday I was lucky enough to call the store after going nowhere on my search for a mid century light bulb replacement for a fixture I just installed from my childhood home. Isaac knew instantly what I was talking about, located it as in stock and shipped it to me in La Quinta. The new bulbs arrived the next day. And I only had to replace one after 50 some years. Amazing. Hats off to Isaac. He's a valuable read more

The person who waited on us was took his time showing us the options. It was a very good experience.

Ernesto is my guy there and always delivers top notch customer service. I pick up lights and ballasts for the buildings I maintain on a regular basis, and he will always have my order ready by the time I arrive, plus a friendly, cheerful greeting. Any time I have questions or need help researching something, he's happy to help. This place is often busy, and a lot of it is us commercial clients who purchase at all times throughout the week, and you might occasionally run into a high traffic moment when everyone else needs something from them right away too, but the staff are swift and professional. -Ryan read more

So my wife say I always want to go in this store they have beautiful lights on display so we pull up and she goes to the hot chicken food place and I proceed to walk in. I walked all the way down the right of the store walked right in front the counter where I counted 6 employees and the owner sitting at his desk I could of touched all 6 and no one said 1 word to me. Customer service starts at the top so the staff was following the owners lead. As a business owner I WOULD NEVER NOT GREET A CUSTOMER. So guess we will have to find a new lighting store. And by the way I was the only customer in the store. read more

I worked with Isaac and had a great experience. At first it's a bit overwhelming, but he was patient and very knowledgeable. Over the course of my remodel, he helped me with multiple lights and was always very responsive. Even when I had issues, he was quick to resolve them. As for the store, it's very nice and clean. Everyone is very nice. It's very helpful to see a lot of examples in person, but they also have a ton on their website. They also sell all the lightbulbs you could possibly want. I liked the store and my overall experience there. That said, a lot of my experience was guided by Isaac so I definitely recommend working with him. read more

My three-star is based on customer service. Went in looking for some chandeliers & luckily found a couple that I loved!! The purchase was made we were given a pick up date and then given the runaround!! Around the time I was supposed to pick up the chandeliers my husband called to check on when the exact pick up date would be because we hadn't heard from the store yet and the order should've arrived given the time frame THEY provided the night of purchase. We were told they couldn't find the order and had to call us back. 2 days later we were told it was going to be a couple of weeks because the items were coming from the East Coast. Called again to check on the arrival date and couldn't get an answer right then & there. The store always had to call back. After days of the phone tag 'we have to call you back' crap our chandeliers finally came in they were picked up! I do love them, they are beautiful but it absolutely makes me question purchasing from this store again!! We are in the market for another large chandelier which we checked on one while in the store purchasing these two and we will not purchase it from this store due to the customer service. IMO I believe someone forgot to put in the order until we called to check on the status and THEN they put in our order. And that's why it took about a week or so longer than it should have originally. Which if that is true just be straight with your customer! I can accept a mistake but passing the buck/blame game on shipping/warehouse is frustrating especially when we are calling, checking and no one has an answer & ALWAYS has to call back. Ugh! For the amount we paid $$$ I would hope this store would have a little bit better customer service They do have great stuff I'm not going lie but buyer beware don't be surprised if they give you crap customer service. *Purchase date was on 11/2/17 (told we'd have our order the week BEFORE thanksgiving) *Pick up date was 11/24/17 read more

Ernesto is in "earnest" the best. My lamp posts fixture in front of my house burned out and I had to call an electrician and they said there was no power going to the fixture and even though I gave them a new lightbulb that was in my garage the light didn't come on. When I got to Ernesto's place at Lighting In Style he said, "do me a favor. Just try this new lightbulb. Just try it before you go and try to buy a whole new lighting fixture and electrical work"Turns out Ernesto was wonderful and was correct the light fixture works he saved me hundreds of dollars! read more

Terrible customer service. Went in today, a Tuesday (how busy can they be, right?). One guy was on the phone helping a customer, no problem, he put the customer on hold to go in the back to look for what they were looking for. I hear employees laughing and joking in the back of the store. Finally somebody comes to the front and proceeds to help a man who had JUST walked in the door when I had been standing there waiting for help for several minutes. I'll just order my lightbulbs on Amazon. And when I replace my ceiling fan this summer, I won't be coming here. read more

Beautiful store with an amazing selection. After searching through the lighting chain stores, the home improvement warehouses, my local furniture stores, I could not find chandeliers for my foyer and staircase. That is until I found Light Bulbs Etc. This store groups lights by style and finish. They offer everything from the basics to ultra fancy to the rare and unconventional. The environment is very inviting. It really helps you see a light from underneath and from various angles which is helpful as I consider what would look pleasing as I walk up my stairs that wrap around. Darlene was helpful and had great advice. Prices are also comparable to other stores of this caliber. read more

This is a hard review to write. This is THE place to go for lighting and presumably lighting experts. Warning: unless you deal directly with the owner, you may not be getting the expert service you think you are...3 trips back to get the "right" track light supplies, which delayed our contractor from completing the job, they didn't offer any type of discount (not even a free light bulb) for our inconvenience (they barely felt any concern that the error was theirs). Once the owner was the person helping us, viola! Project done right. Project complete! 100% satisfied...it just took a while. read more

Our experience at Light Bulbs etc. was very unsatisfactory. I would honestly describe the customer service as unattentive, indifferent and unfriendly. Basically, when you spend $600+ on any item at a store, you expect courteous, friendly, appreciative service from the employees. Not here. Needless to say, I returned my merchandise (ceiling fans) for a full refund. I would definitely take my business elsewhere. In these tough economic times, I want to be appreciated by a merchant when I'm about to spend good money at their business. Dr. K read more

Where do I start...? I first met Dave and Ray personally back in October 2009 when I was remodeling our living room to a Family/Media room.. I have always known about LBE because they have always been in the area on Central Ave for a long time. I then got to work closer with Ray during my Kitchen Remodel a year later in October 2010. From then on out I knew I could depend on the guys for help and intuitive knowledge about lighting. I ended up with some great products in our kitchen due to meeting with the guys at LBE. I then met Eric and Frank during the Kitchen project and their product knowledge about lighting has helped me out immensely. Our kitchen lighting is very nicely done with form and function, many people who visit ask the; where and how? and I tell them talk to the guys down at Light Bulbs Etc.. I have since then taken on other projects including a bathroom remodel in 2012 and my back yard reconstruction in 2014 with some major lighting needs for outdoor/indoor patio lighting and BBQ Island lighting. Eric Manzo has been with me every step of the way for my needs and been there to answer my questions. All in all...LBE has been there for me when I need them and is the first place I go to when I need anything that's turned on by a switch.. Jason D. Witten Upland, CA read more

I've been here 3 or 4 times. Several times the customer service was HORRIBLE. The owner seemed like he was constantly having to check up on his employees, because they were apparently trying to cut corners/lazy. I dealt with about 4 different people, 1 was nice enough, 3 were very rude. The 3 that were rude IGNORED ME even though the store was empty and had only been open maybe half an hour. I did see the owner helping a customer, they seemed happy enough. My advice is to skip the people at the front - go directly to the owner. He cares about making money, its his business. Some of the employees clearly need some training. They will ignore you, help customers who appear "wealthier" - read as older, well-dressed, and WHITE. Several times when I was skipped over, there was an older white person in a suit being helped that came in after me. Be prepared to deal with unprofessional people to get what you need. Other examples - I needed chandelier glass covers, they didnt have them in stock, special order. One guy just flat out lied, said they were impossible to get. His general tone and demeanor were very, very rude. Once he said that, he just acted like I wasnt even there. Owner wasn't there, I came back later and another guy helped me actually order them. If you can help it - just go to Lamps Plus. read more

Through the years we have spend thousands at this place. Our old house, an old craftsman in Claremont, needed lighting upgrades that we bought at Light Bulbs, etc. The house we are in now, a Mid-Century modern, judging my the receipts that were left, had all the expensive modern lighting purchased there. But while they are an excellent source of lighting and their people are knowledgeable, their customer service stinks! I have walked in there and been completely ignored and walked out, again recently, we went in and it took a while for them to acknowledge us and when someone did deem to help us, he was brisk and seemed put out. I persisted and finally got what I wanted, but today when I open the box to install the fixture, critical components were missing. I guess they have more customers than they need. read more

First off this location does offer a nice selection of lights but the service and pricing are not worth my time or money. We just installed the 9 new led bulbs in our 4" recessed lights that are in our kitchen they are so much brighter than our old 50 watt quartz halogen bulbs and only need 9 watts each only took around 45 minutes. We went down to Light Bulbs Etc. and Rael (Ray) Wolder asked if he could help us. We told him that the lights in our kitchen just were not putting out enough light over all and we were considering changing them out for 4" led lights that would be larger bulbs and would be flush with the ceiling and spread the light out more. Ray suggested that we consider changing to the led light bulbs he recommends that would put out 50% more light each and would spread out the light more than the 50 watt quartz halogen bulbs and would plug in the same way which would not require any additional hardware/costs. He also said that it would be more expensive to do what we were considering and could require an electrician rewire from 12 volt to 120 volt (around $550 just for labor) and new cans for the lights. He even gave us a senior discount making the bulbs around $13.50 each. I would definitely recommend this store for helping with lighting problems. read more
