Great and tasty food! Steamed dumplings were delicious and the signature beef noodle soup was great as well. The noodle soup got cold pretty quickly and the noodles themselves were a tad too soft and not chewy. The items out quick and service was typical. Nothing too grand or extra. Two stars off because I was severely disgusted with one of the workers. Larger Asian man who seemed to be in the front. He also took our orders and gave us our food. However, when I would watch him when he wasn't working, he was picking his teeth with his bare hands/fingers. He did it pretty openly too and kept on going as I assume he couldn't get whatever was in his teeth out. It was so GROSS. He had his fingers shoved into his mouth, didn't wash them at all, and then handled clean bowls and handed food out to both my table and other tables. So unsanitary and just plain disgusting. He caught me watching a few times and went to the back. I assumed he didn't wash his hands because he came right out of the kitchen and through the curtain picking at his teeth again. Dirty hands covered in bacteria were touching everyone's plates, and he even was preparing bowls and other utensils with those unclean hands. Have both dined in and ordered to-go. The people here are super sweet and helpful. Service is great. It's a small restaurant, but have plenty of seating and very clean. Some of the dishes (like the noodles) were a little bit too salty for my liking, but the overall flavor was still very good. I didn't realize until after the meal that they had soup dumplings and finally had them. We ordered to-go. We loved them. Din Tai Fung takes quite a bit of time to put their to-go orders together and reservations are difficult to get. I'm so happy to have something so close in flavor and from a small mom/pop place. They are so new and authentic that they don't even have much of a social media presence beyond @yelp and their website! The restaurant opened less than 2 months ago, so they are still ironing our their workflow kinks. Nevertheless, I was so pleasantly surprised by my dining experience here! It's a bit of an awkward turn into the plaza and a tight parking lot, but they had consistent business all afternoon on a rainy Sunday, which was quite impressive. Their menu is simple with an emphasis on dumplings (makes sense based on the restaurant name!), and the double-sided menu is in both Chinese and English. On each table, they have soy sauce, vinegar, and their house chili oil on the table which elevates the umami taste of all their dishes. WHAT TO GET... NOODLES - Both noodle dishes we ordered were exceptional. We got the Hot Dry Noodle (熱乾麵) and Beef Noodle Soup (牛肉麵). It was my first time trying Hot Dry Noodle, and I have to say it's not only tasty but also not spicy (for those who don't like spice!) and kid friendly. The dish is made with sesame paste, sesame oil, and soy sauce among a host of other ingredients but it's a simple dry noodle. I loved the texture and consistency (QQ) of both noodle dishes. DUMPLINGS & WONTONS - They have so many dumpling flavors to choose from, and you can get them steamed or pan-fried. We got the pork and Chinese cabbage dumplings steamed. It's good if you want something lighter flavored and you can add condiments as you wish. My favorite item was the Shrimp and Pork Wonton in Chili Sauce, which has a hint of spice and sweetness. Of course, you have to get the Juicy Pork Dumplings as well. For all the dumpling and wonton items, the wrapper is a bit thicker but the texture is desirably chewy. The food here is super delicious with great flavors. The beef noodle soup is a must, the noodles are smooth with great quality with super tender chunks of beef. The broth is light and herbal. Their dumpling (we got the chicken and shrimp) is so addictive and plump. The chow fun is also really good. Stumbled across this gem while looking for a restaurant in the area that has orange chicken. I wanted somewhere that wasn't a chain and that had a nice variety of options on the menu. We had the orange chicken, fried dumplings, and steamed buns. The restaurant is in a small strip mall and is unassuming from the outside. The inside is bright and clean with maybe about 10 or so tables. We were greeted, seated, and approached to take our order quickly. Our server was very nice and thoughtful in providing small, partially filled water cups for the kiddos. All of the food was excellent, packed with flavor, and not overly greasy! The steamed pork dumplings had great flavor, but I was not a fan of the texture. They seemed to be a tad chewy. However, I was expecting them to be like char siu bao, so when they came out more of a dumpling style I was thrown off. The pan fried dumplings definitely stole the show and I'd come back just for them. In summary, loved the variety and quality of dishes, loved the service, and the ambiance was great. read more
