    Marinated raw crab
    Ellen L.

Food is great therefore i skipped taking alot of pictures We came 2 hours before they closed. First started off lots of banchan and kimchi. The homemade kimchi so tasty and not spicy (if you can't take the heat don't worry) Beef intestines - 5/5 Marinated beef ribs - great 5/5 (re-ordered again) Fresh eel (that's why we come) ordered two and excellent lots of omega3. 5/5 Marinated raw crabs (need to eat with rice, i hope they have purple rice instead of white rice). 5/5 Grilled Squid in hot sauce i didn't eat because family said it's too chewy. 3/5 Steam egg - 5/5 Tofu soup comes with the meal - 3/5 (too salty) Cold noodle was so yummy, must add the mustard goes so well with bbq because it's a bit sour (i added vinegar) helps digestion Soju is not the brand i like kinda like water. Great service. Auntie here is so caring , she asked few times if we get too cold etc. she gave us whole lot of extra kimchi to take home. Lots of candy (the one from squid game) to take home as dessert. Separate restrooms for men / women Great experience, glad we came late so it's not crowded will be back again!

In the midst of all the Korean restaurants in Murray Hill, this is a little gem that specializes in grilled eel. It was completely empty for lunch on the weekend and service was a bit slow because of it. The kimchi jiggae was absolutely delicious, also loved the fresh kimchi. The raw marinated crabs were very well seasoned and the eel was perfectly cooked. The ducks were a bit overcooked and tough. Overall, it was delicious and a nice change of pace vis-a-vis the traditional meat BBQ.

I could never have imagined how wonderful an experience this restaurant would be. It's super unassuming and I was a little overwhelmed at first by the menus on the wall. They specialize in live eel BBQ so we had to get that and we were lucky enough that the owner allowed us to swap out one of the meats we did want in one of the pre-set menus that came with 2 bottles of soju and 2 soups (seafood and soybean). The meats were delicious, pretty standard BBQ fare. The eel was interesting, not something I'd had and it surprised me. Banchan were plentiful and refilled as necessary. I really enjoyed both soups, especially the plump seafood in the seafood soup (soondubu jigae). But the real gem is the server/owner?/cook who literally was running the entire place. She was so attentive and kind. Truly such a great meal.

This place becomes one of the popular spots for Korean food now. We love their grilled eel and it's still very good. Raw crab is so delicious and it's my favorite! Seating is very local and good service because they are so thoughtful to give you a bag for your clothes to avoid the bbq odor.

We were a party of 6 adults and 1 kid, got seated quickly on a Friday night. We picked this restaurant primarily because of their eel and other menu selection that's not available served at others. The food was unremarkable, not my favorite but wasn't the best either. Mostly were cooked by a person on a butane burner stove, a little deceiving since we see pics of charcoal stoves, but I guess it is understandable to expedite the cooking. Was kinda pricy but the Marinated crabs were so good, not too salty. They offer a lot of free side dishes.

I highly recommend this restaurant because the food and service were amazing. Let's start with a story of me wearing a short dress and kind lady who worked there who was so worry for me that she provided me a jacket and pillow to use to cover my legs. She made sure that the food was good and that I was warm enough. The service was definitely 100/100. The ambiance wasn't anything special but it was comfy and gives off a homely vibe. The food was good but a tad expensive. They precooked the meals on a separate grill which was nice so we didn't really had any bbq smell on our bodies. They provided a wide choices of side dishes and all quite tasty. The fresh eel was excellent and definitely should be ordered. It was fresh and chewy (good type of chewy). It matched well with many of the sides they provided. The gopchang was also very good. It was perfectly crisp. At the end, they gave us lollipops. They were so good. 100% definitely to go again even if it is pricey

One of my new fave kbbq place. There's a sentiment that more authentic, more affordable korean bbq lies in Queens and this place is one of those spots that really drives this home, especially the authenticity. Loved our dinner here, and especially after having dined at michelin-bib rated kbbq places in the city, I would choose this place every single time instead. BANCHAN - plentiful, includes the steamed egg, and there were like 8+ different banchan provided to us. Yum. SEAFOOD PAJEON - fluffy, lightly crispy, and the sauce they serve it with here is the most bold-flavored sauce I've ever had at a restaurant serving this. So flavorful, chewy, lightly frittery in its exterior. Great stuff, COMBO 7 - 3 meats, soju, kimchijjigae included. SO worth it. the meat is cooked separately at one of their many bbq grills in the interior and then brought over to you, kept warm in a portable grill that they attach into your table and have little mini pans with the meat. The grilled eel was delicious and frittery crispy. Ssamjang and house oil are a banging success. Perilla leaf and lettuce to wrap the meat in, and freshly peeled garlic and jalapeno for you throw into the pans for even more flavor. Ginger is there as well for your wraps. DELICIOUS - especially the perilla leaf! Don't see this at too many other places. SOY SAUCE CRAB - buttery, creamy raw crab for you to grab with a glove and squeeze the meat out. Consider getting rice to put into the actual bodies of the crab to soak up that flavor. COLD BUCKWHEAT NOODLE IN BEEF BROTH Refreshingly chewy, umami, and perfect for an end-of-meal finisher to cool off a bit. Complimentary dalgona lollipops at the end of dinner are a nice touch.

1st time here & it was really difficult finding the place on yelp since I couldn't figure out how to spell it in English. Anyway, we were given 10 banchan in total. They gave chili with anchovies (anchovies were super spicy thanks to the split chili, wish it was only anchovies), fish cake, zucchini, kimchi (not too fermented, crisp, yum), cabbage in soy sauce, cucumber kimchi I think, potato in soy based sauce, & onion & potato kimchi I think. I liked everything else. When we finished the banchan tho, I was surprised they didn't ask if we wanted refills. Later, they gave us super long, super fermented kimchi. It was really hard to pick up since it was so long & I also choked on it & thought I was gonna die cuz it wasn't going down my throat. So, we asked for scissors & were provided with them but the kimchi was too fermented for our taste so we ended up not eating it anyway. I got sundubu jjigae which is described as mildly spicy on the menu. I asked for it to be less spicy, but I was given no spice at all. It was white which isn't a huge deal since I added the kimchi sauces from all the banchan but I stil wuda liked it a bit spicier. The server misunderstood I guess, which is fine since it happens. The jjigae itself was decent. I still prefer Mapo bbq. I was expecting rice & the egg soufflé with the jjigae tho, none of which were provided. I was really surprised they didn't even provide rice with it. They did give us a fermented bean sprout dish later which I didn't like. I just think the flavor was weird. My friend got japchae which was much butter than I expected. Every other place I've had japchae at, it was so bland. I really liked this japchae but I just wish it wasn't so sweet. For dessert, they gave us water melon & dalgona lollipop both of which were really sweet & really good. This was my 1st time trying dalgona candy & it had a rather smoky flavor I wasn't expecting which helped it taste less sweet than it wuda otherwise. Dessert was much appreciated & but I do suggest they provide rice with any jjigae & ask if ppl want banchan refills.

Came all the way out to Queens with some friends to see if the KBBQ here is truly superior to what we've had in KTown or other places. To be honest, while the food was good, I wasn't as blown away as I was expecting to be, nor was the food as cheap per person as we expected from Queens. We paid probably around $43 each for a rather small amount of meat for 6 people and a lot of banchan. So much banchan they couldn't fit it all in the table. Good quality meat over all, especially the eels which are kept live in house, but I do feel like I have had better at other places. Service was also a bit slow as we were kind of outside the main restaurant in an extra closed tented space near the entrance. All that said I still recommend the place, I just think if you are like us and a queens trip will take a long time, you probably want to find the best of the best and this isn't quite at that level. I will give the place props for the ambiance and setting though, it was definitely a nice and cozy setup, which does add a lot to a long kbbq sesh.

We walked by this restaurant and decided to have a light dinner after having shaved-ice nearby on a hot day. This is a typical casual KBBQ joint with pretty good charcoal BBQ and good service. We ordered the Kalbi and Squid, both good quality and quite tasty. A neighborhood gem, so glad we gave it a shot and we will be back with friends to try different meats/items next time.

Very busy, but it was okay. We visited on friday night. Lots of people. The server checked our vaccination card and let us in. Brought us water and disposable cup. We ordered set #2. Eel and 2 kinds of intestine. The side dishes were so great! I loved all the side dishes. They refilled when we asked. Their eggplant dish is so good. They served us the cooked eel and intestine. I really wish that they cooked it on the chargoal grill, but they pre-cooked them on a gas grill, then served us. I really wish they just cooked on the charcoal grill, but it might be because of the pandemic. Lots of other korean bbq places do the same. Food was great! It was cooked well. Very fresh. They have 3 different sauce (ssamjang, sesame oil and salt, spicy sauce with garlic and pepper), so try all! They all make different taste. If you want some real korean pocha style restaurant. This is it!

We visited Yuk Jun Gui randomly and we love this place so much. Their sides were in a great variety with steamed egg and raw crab which are charged additionally in other restaurants. We had their Combo of Pork Belly, Beef Intestine and Duck with a single order of Bulgogi to share with a group of two. The portion was great so we ended up packing all our leftover and it's even enough for another meal. The quality of meat and how the staff grilled them was decent and our favorites were the duck, which was juicy & tender and the beef institute, which was perfect with their special sauce. However, the pork belly and bulgogi were kind of dry and hard to chew.

We ended up ordering the Kimchi Pancake with seafood, the spicy bulkoki udon and the jeyuk udon. The kimchi seafood pancake was super crispy and filled with squid and shrimp! It also came with a semi sweet dipping sauce that paired nicely. Both udons came out piping hot and fresh! Udon had a nice chew to it, was loaded with vegetables as well as meat for each dish. The egg was fried and did not have a runny yolk. For sides, they gave us 4 things- a tomato salad, kimchi cucumbers, braised string beans, and bean sprouts. The tomato salad came in this cute apple shaped dish but neither of us really cared for it- this is completely biased though since we're not really fans of tomato. What we really did love was the kimchi cucumbers! Also at the end, they served us 3 pieces of cantaloupe which were very sweet. Overall, yummy food, cute shop, and friendly/nice staff! The inside is casual,…read moreand our waitress, Jane, was extremely friendly and helpful from refilling banchan to cooking meats and otherwise. A couple of us shared a $13 bottle of the green grape flavor of Chum Churum, a soju. In terms of banchan, there was a bunch. Everyone got a cold and refreshing cabbage soup as well as a very tasty version of Braised Tofu/Dubu-jorim/두부조림. Once we ordered, we also got a bunch of other banchan, including cabbage, radish, and cucumber Kimchi, broccoli and cauliflower Namul, Marinated Mushrooms/Beoseot Bokkeum/버섯볶음, Anchovies With Peanuts/Myeolchi Bokkeum/멸치볶음, and Potato/Gamja Salad/감자샐러드. One of the other things brought out was a pretty tasty version of Raw Soy Sauce Marinated Crab/Ganjang-Gejang/간장게장. Most of these were refillable. The first actual thing that arrived was something that I can't eat, the $22.99 Seafood Pancake/Haemul Pajeon/해물파전. I have a cephalopod allergy, or in other words, anything with tentacles, so I avoid squid and octopus, and seafood pancakes always contain one of those two. Everyone else enjoyed it, though. The pajeon I could eat was the Kimchi Jeon/김치전 for a dollar less. It was pretty tasty, though I prefer other spots that had a bit more of a crisp. Next was one of their signatures, the grilled duck. Going from online reviews, we went with the non-spicy version, as people prefer it, as the spicier marinade overpowers the duck. This was the $29.99 Sang Ori Gui/생오리구이. The sliced duck was on a hot, sizzling plate, with there also being a lot of grilled onions and scallions. The duck had a mix of pieces, ranging from fatty to less so, and had a nice mix of textures. This was easily one of my favorites, though I liked it even more when paired with the ssamjang that arrived with the BBQ, as the sauce balanced the light fattiness. Arriving at a similar time was the last thing I couldn't eat, the Spicy Stir-Fried Baby Octopus on Iron Plate/Jjukkumi Cheolpan Bokkeu/철판쭈꾸비볶음, for $30.99. I couldn't try the octopus, but the portion was plentiful, and I had a bit of the noodles on the bottom after making sure there were no tentacles, as well as trying the sauce. The sauce was tasty, spicy, and very flavorful. We went with two of the Korean BBQ meats, one beef and one pork. My preference of the two was surprisingly the $49.99 Charcoal Grilled Marinated Beef Ribs/Yangnyeom Galbi/양념갈비. This also came with two veggies: kabocha squash and asparagus. The beef was extremely tender, had the perfect mix of fat and meat, and had only a light sweetness from the marinade. This was absolutely delicious and very much worth the price point. Also tasty was the Grilled Pork Belly/Samgyeopsal/삼겹살, for $36.95. This also came with a few things, including cabbage and a large mushroom. The pork belly was delicious, being just fatty enough and very tender as well, with a mild chew. The BBQ came with a few extra side dishes. This included a tasty steamed egg/Gyeran-jjim/계란찜, greens, an onion salad, ssamjang, salt, and a small boiling pot of soybean stew/doenjang jjigae. They were all tasty, though nothing particularly notable outside of the portions being generous. Also, at the end of the meal, they gave us some sujeonggwa. Not much for me to complain about this place. The food was very tasty overall, and the service was wonderful. I would go back and order a full beef BBQ set.
