I overestimated my size and purchased two skirts from Ann Taylor that were way too big. I searched yelp for reputable tailors and stumbled upon this one. Cindy, the tailor, was extremely nice and she did a great job. The skirts were fitted and the waists were taken in; each skirt cost $35. Since I had never been to a tailor before, I can't comment on how well-priced Young's Tailors is, but Cindy's costs seem comparable to what I've seen online from other places. Young's tailors altered my lace wedding gown for me and they did a wonderful job. The dress fit me pretty well to begin with, and only needed minimal alterations in the bust, and I felt very relieved that they didn't try to sell me alterations I didn't need (which was what happened with the seamstress at the bridal salon). By far the best tailor around! She was able to get my suits to fit perfectly. I have scoliosis which causes my suit jackets to fit awkwardly on my shoulders. She added shoulder pads into my jacket to even out my shoulders, now it fits/looks perfect. The prices were extremely reasonable, and the turnaround was extremely fast. I found my perfect wedding dress at BHLDN ... unfortunately, they weren't going to be making that style anymore and so only had the sample to sell. The sample was a size twelve, I'm a size eight. Enter Young's Tailors! They did a beautiful job preserving the style of the dress while ensuring it fit me like a glove, plus they even suggested some helpful tweaks, like swapping the tie at the base of the neck for a few discrete buttons, and adding a bustle. Reasonably priced for the amount of work that went into my alterations. Highly recommend! read more

Took in five items last week, mostly for standard hemming, which they did a fine job on. I wanted to review, though, my one "weird" item. I ordered an expensive pair of jeans online that fit great everywhere except the waist. I know maybe I should just go running more but I knew if I could somehow just expand the waistband by a couple inches these jeans would be stellar (everyone knows how hard it can be to find that perfect fitting jean!). So I explained what I wanted and though the seamstress had a doubtful look on her face, she did not disappoint! She even found fabric that matched the color of the jeans perfectly, and aligned the extended patch between the back two belt loops to the point where it took me several minutes of searching to find it. All in all I am impressed, and while it was not a cheap fix it was worth it (that cost about $30). I do recommend youngs. read more

I researched online and found Young's Tailors shop to appear competent & experienced in handling wedding gown alterations. I requested Cindy, who was mentioned positively in previous (wedding gown) reviews. She was very kind, friendly and interested in making sure the dress fit correctly. There is no doubt that Young's Tailors are a talented team. There was however a language barrier that caused some difficulty along the way regarding the outcome of my alteration requests and the timeline in which they were completed. While my alteration requests were technical they were not overly complicated and took longer than originally promised to be completed, causing me some unnecessary last minute stress. Overall, I would recommend Young's Tailors to other Brides needing wedding dress alterations. In the end my dress was ready before my event and the alterations earned about a 4/5 satisfaction in my book. I was pleased with the final outcome of most of the alterations. read more

I had my suit jacket taken in on the sleeves about an inch to make them skinnier. They were a bit baggy as I bought it off the rack at Express. First thing you notice when you get there is how nice the woman is. She is very kind and wants to put out the best work. Next is how quick and professional the measurements are. It took about 3 minutes for me and her to figure out how skinny I wanted the sleeves to become. She will consult you with what you want and her professional opinion. She also worked with a woman on her dress and that took about 8 minutes. You pay up front and they give you a ticket like every other place. My time table for that was 6 days and I paid $35. I was very happy with the results. This will definitely become my go to tailor. Parking: turning in to this place can be tricky because it is very small and can be overlooked if you're not careful. 1st experience and LAST! I took my dress to be altered and had to bring it back because it was not hemmed enough as originally asked. Picked up my dress the 2nd time and had to bring it back AGAIN. It was still not hemmed enough and correctly. I paid $28 for a hi/low "BACK" only part to be hemmed (no lining) simple hemm. The owner (Short Hair Lady) wanted to charge me $14 MORE because I had to bring it back again. The entire experience was unprofessional and unfriendly! NO WAY will I pay another $1 here. read more

I cannot stress how wonderful it was finding this tailor. I'm actually very upset I no longer live in the area and therefore no longer have a reliable place to have my clothes quickly altered and at a great rate with great service. I came into Young's with a lined, designer bridesmaid gown with two weeks until the wedding. I'm very petite and short, so she had to take it in, hem it, and deal with a beaded neckline. At most places, this would not be possible within two weeks. Young's didn't even bat an eyelash at my nervousness once I said the date of the wedding--she offered it to be ready within 5 days of my drop off. I was completely floored. And even more so when I was charged less than $100 for all of the work. I was really expecting so much more considering the DC area's tendency to be outrageously priced. When I picked up the dress, I tried it on and it was perfect in everyway we discussed. I'm so grateful to Young's for doing such a great job and with such little time. I went here to get my wedding dress tailored, and they did not let me down one bit!! I had to get a lot of things done to the dress (chest taken in, hemming the bottom, adding bustle, etc), and they were extremely patient, detailed, and made sure I was 100% satisfied with my dress. I was so worried about getting my very expensive designer wedding gown altered but they did a phenomenal job!! I seriously could not have asked for a better experience. My dress is 100% lace and needed extensive alterations (longer straps, being taken in at the waist) and they went above and beyond my expectations. I didn't even think this dress was salvageable but it looks like it was made for me now and fits me like a glove! I didn't even have to tell them what needed to be done, they instinctively knew where I needed alterations done in order for it to look perfect. After reading such great reviews for Youngs Tailors I decided to try them. The lady waas very sweet, but she totally messed up a pair of pants. Even after trying them on for a fitting she took them in so tight they couldn't be worn and then corrected it. Not living close by it meant another trip back. She also shortened a skirt too much. I just let that go. Also, her pricing was inconsistant. It was difficult to find out what each item cost, I brought 5 items. The other work was just ok. read more

I had lost some weight and tried on a dress the day before flying to a wedding in vermont. OH NO my dress is HUGE on me. There was no way to pin it. I went to my regular tailors and they said there was no way to have the dress ready the next day. They would have to take in the zipper and side seams and it was a big job. My regular tailor recomennded I try Young's. When I called they told me to come in the next hour, and no matter what they'd have it ready tomorrow for me when I flew out. I came in, and although they were extremely busy Mr. Young assisted me with a smile and didn't even charge me a rush fee which, at this point, I would have paid anything for my dress. When I picked up the dress it was perfect! I have since returned twice for other services. Not only is the service quick and friendly, Young's charges competitive prices. Tucked away off 123 in Vienna, this place is a great find. I will never go anywhere else for my tailoring needs. read more

Cindy is a master in her craft! Her original jean hems are perfect, my blazer sleeves she shortened are immaculate and she even altered my bathing suit bottoms! She is my go-to for all my designer clothing, I trust her to make them even better! I had Young's alter my daughter's prom gown two years and felt comfortable bringing my wedding gown and my daughter's maid of honor dress to Young's. The experience was extremely disappointing for both alternations. On my dress, the cups were done incorrectly, the bustle was not even with the hem, and the hem wasn't altered to my body (I have one leg an inch and a half shorter than the other). The thread used on the hem of my daughter's dress snagged easily. I had to bring my wedding dress to another tailor 10 days before the event. Luckily it got fixed. I would recommend not bringing anything too difficult to Young's. They are fine with basic alterations, but more complicated work should be done by an expert seamstress. read more

Bought a Valentino dress for my wedding day and during the wedding reception the zipper broke from dancing and I dropped it off here to get fixed. Not only was the zipper replaced but the she was also able to knit a hole that was under the zipper too and it looked flawless. I brought in a high quality wool blanket that was ripped in several places by my dog's teeth. There were several large holes with ragged edges. The tailor at Young's did such a great job that I had to look really hard to see where the holes were orginially located. The stitching was perfect and the choice of thread blended in with the blanket design. All for $30 which was less than 10% the cost of the blanket. I picked up the repaired and cleaned blanket on the day they said it would be done. I would highly recommend this company for repairs and alterations. read more

I've been going to Sun tailoring in Tyson's Galleria for my alterations and I have decided to try Young's Tailors this time since Sun's price was not that great for alterations that i get from them.. I was on yelp to search different tailors and found Young's with great reviews so i decided to try them since it is close to where i live. I dropped off two pairs of pants and one coat for alteration and a very nice lady asked me when i want to pick up my clothes. I told her that i was not in rush to get them altered and the lady told me that i could pick them up on Thursday(2 DAYS LATER) and there is no extra fee for getting them altered that early!!!! Wow.. I was so happy that they have fast service and the PRICE was VERY VERY REASONABLE!!!! It was so much cheaper than what i normally pay at Sun tailoring. I just got back home from Young's Tailor with my clothes after the alterations and I am very impressed by the work they did for awesome price!! The service was very quick, staff or owner( i don't know who she was but she was very nice) was friendly, the alterations was very good, and the price was absolutely reasonable. I do recommend Young's Tailors to everyone and I will only go to Young's Tailors from now on. I am glad that i found Young's tailor from Yelp! Very Happy with the service!! :) read more
