Just a quick update to let everyone know that Mr. and Mrs. Choi have moved to a new location inside Tysons Corner Center and are now located in the Shoe Shoppe across from Banana Republic. New place, same great service! I've been going there for literally all my tailoring needs since the early 1990s when they were in Landmark. They are hard-working, will take on any task no matter how big or small and finish everything on time -- and you can always count on superior workmanship no matter what you need tailored. This tailor is the best I've used in the DMV area. My family uses them for all kinds of tailoring services (pants, shirts hemming etc) and every time, they've done an amazing job. Last month, i brought 2 of my favorite cashmere sweaters in because they had small moth holes and Mr. Choi was able to hem up the holes such that I couldn't see them any more, even when I held them up to the light. I still can't figure out where the holes were originally! Yes, they're that good!! Above all, the Chois are wonderful, friendly people, which should count for something these days. I had a event to go to today. I went to an organic cleaners who did alterations and unfortunately they messed up my new dress. I was able to locate Tyson's Tailors and they saved my day! They are located inside a Tysons corner mall inside the Shoe Shoppe! OMG! They made my alterations and gave my dress back to me in two hours! I couldn't believe it. They did an excellent job! I went here for the first time because it was the 4th of July and my usual tailor was closed. I am 5'3 so I know the price of alterations because I've done them for years. I brought a beautiful dress and she said she would charge me $75 to make the bottom shorter and $30 to take 2 inches off the straps. While I can totally understand the $75 for the bottom the $30 for the straps was outrageous. The most I have ever paid for straps is $20. I even overlooked the fact that she charged a man $15 for a pant hem but then charged me $18. But the straps I couldn't overlook. So they lost a client for $10. read more

I highly recommend Tysons Tailors. My boyfriend is a frequent visitor here for his dress shirts and dress pants. The couple who owns this place are always more than happy to help him and are timely and professional. They have consistently done a great job and have also helped make small updates here and there free of charge. We have also been able to drop off pieces, go shopping in the mall and pick them back up as we head out - super convenient!! All in all, I highly recommend this place :) read more

I can't say enough good things about Tysons Tailors. I've been coming here for almost 5 years and have gotten dozens of dress shirts, dress pants, jeans, chinos, and 2 suits tailored here. This is a family run shop and the wife and husband have both been exceptionally friendly and meticulous when it comes to measuring me. 95% of the time, the clothes turn out perfectly. The fit is exceptional, and the quality of the work and stitching is flawless. The few times where my clothes didn't fit perfectly (e.g. the shirt was too tight when I lean forward), the owners fixed the issue without any extra charge. They go above and beyond to take care of you and make sure you look perfect in your new outfit. I will be coming back for years to come. Highly recommended, without exceptions. read more

I decided to try Tysons Tailors after looking at several reviews of places online. I had an off the rack suit that my sister purchased for me for my wedding and it a little too tight or baggy in the wrong areas. The lady (whom I assume is the wife of the owner) took my measurements and asked me about details of the suit I wanted, said I needed it in 2 weeks, and she said ok it'll be ready. When I came I to pick up the suit, I tried it on with a shirt and vest I ordered for the suit. The suit fit like a glove! My fiancé (at the time) loved it, but my brand new shirt I had gotten didn't complement the suit well. No problem...I asked for my shirt sleeves and sides to be taken in, 2 days later it was ready and it was perfection! Prices were about the average I saw around and some services were a bit more expensive. But it was worth EVERY penny, and I knew how much I was willing to spend on my suit. I felt great on my wedding day and everyone thought I looked super dapper in it! This was my first time getting anything tailored, and I see what people mean when they say it looks and feels better. The prices are outrageous. $165 to hem and take in cheap bridesmaid dress. The bridesmaid dress turned out fine and probably could have been taken in more but I was so nervous to go back because I thought I would have to pay even more for this fix. The owners are a bit rude and due to the language barrier very hard to understand. I went to pick up the dress a day early and they hadn't even touched the dress. Looks like they do everything last minute which really annoyed me considering how much money I spent. read more

After my wonderful tailor of 13 years in Crystal City moved out of state, I reluctantly had to find a new tailor for my suits. After doing some research, I found Tysons Tailors and based on good reviews decided to try them over tailors closer to my home. After seeing the work they did on two of my suits, I will definitely be going back. The hems on pants and shortening of sleeves were spot on and stitching perfect. The waist was reduced to my exact size and belt loops rearranged meticulously. The price was very reasonable for the high quality work. The location is also very convenient if you shop in the mall and want to drop off your clothes for alterations right away. Tysons Tailors carries all the hallmarks of a typical mall gimmick. The storefront looks luxurious and smooth from the outside, but prepare yourself for a rough experience of being jerked around with no eventual satisfaction. Communicating instructions to the owners was extremely difficult and not made any easier by a substantial language barrier. Prices are outrageous, with my simple alterations (minor hemming and tapering of pants, minor slimming of jacket) costing $260, which equates to 74% of the total suit cost. While the responsibility of moving forward with a transaction ultimately falls on the consumer, and while I should not have proceeded, the two-star rating is more reflective of the inordinate wait time for finished products, poor staff communication, and tedious negotiation than it is the owner's unabashedly unjustified prices. 2/5 will not return. read more

My fiancée and I needed last-minute alterations for my suit and her wedding dress. Based on how quickly we were in and out of the place, I didn't have high hopes for the finished product, but it was a Sunday, they were the only tailor open and we didn't have much time. A week later our garments were ready and the fit was perfect. There may. It have been much chatter from the owners, but they were friend, professional and did a fantastic job with a fast turnaround time. Had a fantastic experience here today. I purchased a jacket at Bloomingdales that needed to be hemmed on the sleeves. The Bloomingdales tailor said she could not do same-day tailoring because it was a complicated job with a zipper and multiple materials on the hem. I was pretty disappointed by this news, so I decided to try taking it to Tyson's Tailors and not only were they able to fix my jacket in two hours, they also did a fantastic job and the jacket looks perfect. Recently took a ball gown in to be hemmed and taken-in just slightly. They were able to accommodate my requests within a week and a half and they did a phenomenal job! My dress came back in great shape! A little pricey, but was absolutely worthwhile! I highly recommend them for any tailoring needs that you may have, especially if under a time crunch. read more

This place is fast and efficient. I was shopping at Tysons and noticed there was a slight tear in my coat so I yelped a nearby tailor. I read all the great reviews and stopped by to see if they can fix it. It only took 30 mins and she hand sew the tear. Can't even tell there was ever a tear! Highly recommend this place! read more

He talked to me as if I was his servant...Was with my child who was sleeping, so I was being as polite as possible...At the end left leaving feeling either he was either arrogant or racist. I recently found this this place since I moved to Virginia and am very happy with their service. Clothes are very high involvement purchase for me and most of them are of high values. So I am anxious that my clothes are ruined when I take them to alteration places. But I guess now I will be free from this stress cuz I found this place! So far I have taken my suit jacket that needed to be altered a few inches larger in the waist line and my holiday dress that needed to be taken in a few inches as well. My experience with this tailor was great. I have two sets of Ermenegildo Zegna suits. These suits are from 90's which was out of style now. I brought to them without too much of expectation at first.
