I wanted to give a 2 star review, but truly believe that 1 star is appropriate given the level of energy I had to exert, due to their lack of customer service. Background: I brought my wedding gown here almost 3 years ago and they did a phenomenal job, so I brought 6 curtain panels to have 2" in length added to each. 2 panels were velvet green (not cheap) and 4 panels were sheer white from HomeGoods. They did a great job on the velvet green, perfect, now on to the sheer white... I brought the white panels into the shop in the original packaging from the store, brand new. When I received these 4 panels back there were snags on every single one, making them shorter on one side than the other. In addition to that, the curtains were not extended by 2", they were about a half inch longer, resulting in tacky short curtains, which was the whole point of me brining them in. One panel had a weird brown stain on it and another had some black spots on it, again they were brand new in the packaging. Here's the sad part: I wasn't going to say anything to the shop because historically some ethnic groups are racist towards Black people and I knew the customer service wasn't going to be good, but I tried my luck anyway. I called and was told to them bring in, so I did. He denied culpability stating there's nothing in their shop that could've caused the stain AND the curtains must've been snagged by the manufacturer. I asked to be made whole and I gave an option of a refund of the $40 for the work they completed or $20 (price of the panels from HomeGoods) and he denied both. He gave plenty more excuses, so i asked again and he said no, so I said I would leave a review and his response was "DON'T MESS WITH MY BUSINESS" it sounded like a threat, but I brushed it off. The entire time I was there, I stated I wasn't angry (because of course, stereotypes, so I had to mitigate any tension that was going to come my way. I stated twice that I came with my gown and they did a great job then.) but that I just wanted a refund. So I leave after saying I'm going to leave a review and he asks me to come back (suddenly he has a change of heart). He gives more excuses after asking me to come back into the shop, I ask "are you going to refund me the $20 (still losing out on $40, mind you)" and he hands me $20 and says "if anything happens to my business, then you and I have a problem" whilst pointing to himself and me. To be sure I understood correctly (masks + language barrier) I said "can you say that one more time" and lo and behold he said it again! I told him "that sounds like a threat" and I left. Summary: -no accountability -poor customer service -he offered to have them cleaned but that didn't solve each issue -threatening behavior Update since Alice is commenting as if she were there, here are my recommendations for customer service improvement: 1) If the stains & snagging were there prior to them working on my curtains then why didn't they call me prior to completing the work? Since they write down phone numbers on the items. That would been an excellent time to encourage the customer to exchange for a different set, but my reasoning suggests they didn't do this because THEY CAUSED the stains & snagging. 2) If the stains & snagging were there prior to completing the work, then why didn't they mention that when I came to pick my curtains up instead? I am SO impressed with the quality of work at Ace Tailoring and Tuxedo. I had ordered custom made bridal separates (top and skirt) online and it arrived just 2 weeks before my wedding. The top was really tight on the arms so I took it into this shop hoping they could do something. The knowledgeable lady was so welcoming and calm, immediately measured me and assured me that she could fix this for me. I asked for it within a week and she even said she could have it a couple days earlier than I requested! Felt so relieved as I left the shop. When I picked it up and tried it on, I was amazed! Grace did a wonderful job tailoring a bridesmaid dress (hemming and taking in sides/straps). Grace took the time to carefully pin/mark the needed adjustments at drop off. The turnaround time was very quick and reasonable, especially with the number of adjustments needed. This is my second bridesmaid dress that I brought to Grace and was very pleased with both tailored dresses. Parking is also very easy in the complex where the shop is located. read more

Mr. Bang work is great and all my suits and jackets go to his shop where he does superb job and fast! He is super detail oriented and i really appreciate that as I care a lot about the fit. He is super honest as one time the sleeves on my jacket were too complicated for him to shorten and it would have required a lot of work that he quoted me and suggested for me to look for another jacket instead. One other business that I dealt before, took the jacket that was of similar sleeve complexity and butchered it, but cutting it out and putting some random buttons on it that totally ruined the jacket... yet failed to mention anything about it. She had to redo the entire bottom of the dress and it was a tough job, but it was done and ready as soon as I needed it. This post is long overdue, but ACE Tailoring & Tuxedo did a wonderful job for my March 2018 wedding. First, they took my mom's wedding dress, which at the time was 50 years old, and shortened it and tailored to my body so that I could wear it to my rehearsal dinner. It was a difficult material to work with, but they did a great job. Second, two weeks before my wedding, I had to get a new wedding dress. Luckily, I was able to find a new dress, but it was too big. ACE Tailoring & Tuxedo did the alterations with only a week to go before my wedding. Most places I called needed much more advance notice. They did a wonderful job and I was able to have a simple and elegant wedding dress that fit me on my wedding day! read more

I don't write Yelp reviews, but I absolutely had to for this place! After honestly a horrific experience at a different shop, I took my butchered wedding dress to Ace Tailoring. It just needed to be let out a little bit, and it didn't feel like my dress quite yet. At the point that I went to Ace Tailoring, I was 18 days out from my wedding so I understand that it was crunch time for them to get my dress done on time. They were AMAZING!!! They let out my dress so that it fit better, and removed features that the other shop had added but I had ultimately decided did not look good. When I came back for my follow-up appointment last week, I pointed out that my dress still had some obvious folds on the torso and they made recommendations for how the top part could be shortened to fit my torso. The bust was still a little too loose. When I came back today to try it on, four days out from my wedding, the dress fit like a glove and truly felt like it was mine! I am so, so, so, so happy with their service! It was a little pricey but I attribute it to them having a short time frame to fix my dress in time for my wedding. I brought an expensive evening gown to be hemmed. When I tried it on, the co-owner Grace, also said that the top part of the gown was a bit long for me and needed to be shortened. She did a fantastic job with it. I was so happy that the gown fit me perfectly as though it has been custom-made for me. The hemming and other alterations cost $130. They altered a prom dress for me (hemming it since it was too long) and also altered a nice quality Christmas-esque dress from TjMaxx (tightening it around the shoulders). They did fine on that but I noticed a blatant black stain on the skirt and when I asked about it she suddenly didn't know English anymore and just said I don't know over and over and kept smiling at me. When I pressed about it again she finally said "all I did was sew it here and hang in there." I told her it did not have a stain when I brought it in and I am now going to have to take it to get dry cleaned and she did not care one bit or offer any resolution. VERY DISSATISFIED. Ace Tailoring is the only tailor I trust with my suits and clothes. Over the past few years, I have brought many suits, dress pants, and other items to be altered and adjusted. Most recently I brought in two new suits to have the jackets taken in, pants slimmed through the legs, and the bottom of the pants hemmed. As many previous reviews have mentioned, the couple that runs the shop is very knowledgeable, attentive, and professional. I tried on the suits, told them how I would like the parts to fit, they made the proper marks, and about a week later, I had two beautiful and perfectly fitted suits. The true mark of their work however is the numerous compliments I have received wearing these new suits and how good they look and how well fitted they are. I have now worn these suits and a previous suit I also had tailored by Ace regularly for over a year now and they still look brand new. Their prices vary depending on how much work you are having done, but my two suits cost around $150 or so. For the flawless experiences I have had here and the superior workmanship, money spent here was money well spent. read more
