Pricey, but good tailor work. I've paid for her services twice and was happy with the stitch work both times. She's very friendly and accommodating. read more

She's very friendly and did simple fixes for me, she's really a high end dressmaker and made time for me. I'll always go there and she's open on Saturday... highly recommend her read more

Very professional, my garment was on time and the quality of the work was excellent. I definitely recommend this place. Just make sure to make an appointment before showing up or else you'll have to wait. read more

This was my second time going here. Service was excellent, she was so polite, and was very relatable. I felt as though I was treated like family. She always gets my measurements right and has so much knowledge to get you the best fit. Similarly, you pay for what you want (not overpriced) unless I'm sure you have multiple items of clothing. I always feel so great in the clothes I take here. If you need a seamstress, alterations, etc...this is the place to go! read more

I made a mistake in my prior review. She actually charged me $65 and accepted the money w/o suggesting I try it on again when I picked it up. Big mistake on my part. read more

She was rude and had a bad attitude. I called to get a quote because I wanted an adjustment and alteration on my dress. All I wanted is a strap to be added, and she yelled in my ear, acted like she couldn't hear me and kept talking over me. In the middle of my sentence she put me on hold for about 3 minutes, and proceeded to yell at the people around her. She came back and said anything I want added to the dress, I can buy online or go somewhere else to get it done and then hung up on me. HORRIBLE customer service, time management and impression. read more

I truly can't recommend Lien highly enough. I went to her for all of my alterations for my wedding dress- she was so kind and helpful and always knew exactly what needed to be done to the dress. I appreciated how she would always show and explain to me why she was making certain recommendations. She was also able to make custom off-the-shoulder sleeves for my wedding gown that honestly looked like they came with the dress- they were perfect. I went back to Lien after my wedding for help altering a lehenga with mirror work, which is an extremely complicated garment to alter. I was so impressed with the work she did. She basically had to take apart and rebuild the top and skirt and you cannot tell at all. Lien is the absolute nicest woman and her prices are incredibly reasonable for the work she is doing. The shop is by appointment only and open Tuesday-Saturday, only cash and checks are accepted. It is well worth the drive to Herndon from DC/NOVA and I will continue going to her for alterations! read more

Lien helped me get a better fit on a bridesmaid gown for an upcoming wedding and was very nice! She's great, highly recommend!

I was a bridesmaid two months postpartum and needed very fast alterations made in order to fit in my dress. Lien expertly handled my urgent request and was so patient with my toddler and baby during my fitting. The dress turned out beautifully and I'm so appreciative of her quality work and quick turnaround! read more

I've been going to Lien for more than 15 years and I've never considered going anywhere else. She's an expert in making every dress perfect. You can trust her to suggest just the right alteration to make it look right on you. She's also just a lovely person, kind and encouraging. Yes, you need an appointment. She's in demand, rightfully so, and extremely busy. But she turns things around quickly when needed. She does only take cash and check, so be prepared. read more

Lien is simply the BEST! If you're here, you're likely looking for someone to entrust a precious gown or piece of clothing to, and let me tell you- look no further than Lien!! She took my massive gown that was accidentally ordered 2 sizes too big and artfully tailored it to my body perfectly! She hemmed the gown, adjusted the removable sleeves, added a beautiful bustle, and added cups. I listened to her expertise regarding the waistline- I wasn't sure it was snug enough to hold the weight of the gown, but I am so glad I trusted her! The dress fit amazing, was so comfortable, and I received a million compliments. I will return to Lien for ALL tailoring needs now!! She's AMAZING and an all-around beautiful human. I cannot recommend her highly enough! read more

Lien did an amazing job on my dress! She hemmed my dress (with massive train) and added a bustle in less than a week on a tight schedule. She is very knowledgeable, kind, and super skilled. Prices are fair (not cheap) but you will get what you paid for. There is a reason why she is already booked through next month :) I would highly recommend her. read more

Mrs. Lien is absolutely amazing! She turned my Amazon wedding dress into something gorgeous! She worked with me on getting it lined, added a bustle, and even sewed on the belt that I brought to her! I can't imagine that anyone else would have taken the time and care to make sure I am going to look amazing for my big day! If you are in the Herndon area LOOK NO FURTHER! If not, you should still come see her! She's so kind and I will recommend her to anyone I know that needs major or minor alterations done! LOVE LOVE LOVE! read more

I had an amazing experience with at Lien's. She was very kind to do an alteration to my wedding gown in a short period of time when I was in a real pinch. I do not live in the area, and this was recommended to me by a friend of a friend and they did not miss. Incredible experience all around and my dress looks lovely read more

I came to her several times in the past and she did a fine job, I didn't have anything special - just needed to hem dresses or pants. I felt like she was a bit overpriced but the location is very close so that was convenient. I always felt rushed with her. Last time she made a mistake scheduling my appointment so I came at the same time as another customer and Lien was very rude, was raising her voice and claiming repeatedly that it was me who made the mistake (even though I specifically confirmed the appointment with her). She was almost yelling so I left and will never come back. She thinks she is really popular because of all the positive reviews so she can act rude and yell at customers. read more

Very poor service and professionalism. Highly discourage using her, many others close by with better results, experience, and price.

Lien altered my rehearsal dinner outfit and my wedding dress. She was timely, helpful, and exceedingly cost efficient. I highly highly recommend her! Send her an email, set an appointment, and be ready to be impressed! read more

Lien did such a great job on my wedding dress!! She got my dress done within three weeks and I was so surprised that it took that fast. Her pricing is also very reasonable too. She's very well loved by her clients (she has a corner in her store filled with thank you cards from all of her clients) and it really shows that she does a super good job at what she does. read more

Our daughter needed a dress altered for a wedding. Lien was very good, from taking initial measurements to the final try on. It is obvious that Lien's is very popular as there were a number of people also wanting alterations both times we were in the store. Prices are consistent with what we've paid in the area. read more

I can't believe that during this time of Covid a business would be so and caring towards new customers. I walked in people were staring at me and a woman came out and told me that I needed an appointment. It's at tailoring shop businesses are going out of business. You would think that they would want new customers. They basically just turned me away as soon as I walked in. read more

My friend recommended this place to me. Had to get a bridesmaid dress altered. Wanted the dress expanded a little, the wedding was 3 weeks away and I was 18 weeks pregnant and didn't want the dress to be too snug on the day of the wedding. I got the dress back in a little less than 2 weeks, well done sewing job, couldn't even tell anything was done! She did a great job and was friendly. The alterations cost $55. I would definitely use her again. read more

This lady does excellent work, pays attention to detail and has made me a very happy new client! She altered my wedding gown quickly and didn't charge an enormous amount. I will be going back for all of my alteration needs! read more

I needed two dresses altered. Lien was very sweet and did a great job. Her turn around is very quick as well! Will definitely be back.

Lien did incredible work with the alterations on my wedding dress. I live in Texas, and she was more than happy to work around my travel schedule for fittings. She was so kind and helpful at every appointment, and the work she did on my dress is just beautiful. The price was also incredible! Less than half the cost of what I was quoted in Texas. You will not be disappointed! read more

Lien did an absolutely beautiful job with my wedding dress! I was nervous at first in general having work done on my wedding dress, but she made it look like that was just the way it came. She was so sweet, kind, and professional. Her prices were also incredibly reasonable compared to other alteration shops I had researched in the area. I was very glad to be able to support her business! read more

Arrived about 11:20 am on a Thursday. Was told to take a seat as the lady who does the alternations was helping someone else. I used the restroom and put my two pairs of pants on a chair. When I returned, someone else was there and had moved my pants. Ok, fine, not a problem. About 5 minutes later, the lady who pins the pants for alterations appeared. She said, the people waiting had an appointment and that she was too busy and needed to take care of them first and could I come back. To which I said, I didn't realize appointments were needed and she said usually they are not but they had one. I said fine, I'll come back another day and that I work nearby. But frankly I felt put off. It takes two minutes to hem two pairs of pants. I would have been finished in 5 minutes. But no, couldn't do it and seemed very rude. I stopped in literally because it was on my way to work from where I was coming from. I'll find someplace else to go get my alterations done. Remember, you might be great at what you do, but customer service is part of your job and turning people away literally not good for your business long term. read more

Lien was wonderful during my wedding dress alterations. I met with her quite a few times in the 2 months leading up to the wedding. It was a lot of work and she did a great job. She was also positive, encouraging, and fun to be around. I miss my visits with her! I also used her for a standard dress hemming and hemming my now husband's suit pants. She does not take walk-ins - call for an appointment. She is not cheap, especially for wedding alterations, but she does a great job. She steamed my dress before we left (16 hr car ride) and it was in great shape when we arrived. read more

Planning a wedding during COVID is no joke! Lien was one of the most stress-free pieces of the planning process. I had ordered a dress online with a month before the wedding remaining. Lien got me in to see her for a fitting within a few days of me cold calling her, fitted me and finished alterations including giving me a dress bag in less than two weeks! Her work is precise and she even fixed a run in the dress which had occurred during transit. She's also just a lovely soul. I would recommend her for any tailoring work hands down! read more

I was freaking out looking for someone to alter my wedding dress. I read a billon reviews and horror story after horror story. This was the only place I found that had no horror stories! It took one fitting for her to get my dress perfect. She's so kind and funny too! My fiancé also got his gi for Brazilian Ju Jitsu (no clue how to spell that) hemmed and had his patched sowed on. She gave him advice on how to properly wash it and care for it too. Love this place! read more

So far, she's my savior. Had a sour taste in my mouth about this whole process - (I bought a dress from a place that was so pushy and hugely over-quoted me on alterations). Lien pinned me up, quoted me at one-third of the price I got somewhere else, and sent me on my way. I'll see her in the fall to do the final fitting. She is so relieving and comforting. Such a pleasure to be around. read more

I needed a bridesmaid dress altered for an upcoming wedding. I found Lien's after doing a quick search on yelp. Now, I don't get a lot of clothing altered, so i don't know much on cost or typical timeline. Anyways, I brought the dress in, Lien did her thing, and two weeks later I had a perfect fitting bridesmaid dress. Two weeks! I actually told her to take her time seeing that it was only her in the shop, there were lots of dresses, and I had plenty of time till this needed to be done. The price was about $65 just to shorten. Not sure if that is high or low, but the quality and service was great. The only negative would be that she accepts only cash or check. read more

I found Lien's Dressmaking thanks to Yelp. I'm not sure how I never knew about this little gem since I grew up in Reston. From my first call to schedule an appointment, Lien was very friendly and accommodating. I went in the next day for my alternation appointment. Lien has tons of pictures of previous brides/clients and thank you letters hanging on her wall. After meeting Lien this doesn't surprise me. I was mentally prepared to pay a lot since I waited until the last minute to have my bridesmaid dress altered. I was pleasantly shocked when she said she could have it done in a week and for the price. I've paid WAYYY more in the past at other places not as clean, friendly or their expertise. I will definitely be going back to Lien for any future business. read more

Lien was amazing. She completed my wedding alterations in two weeks and was so kind and reasonable!

I took bridesmaids dress into Lien's for hemming and had a wonderful experience. She had it ready to go in 2 weeks and the hem was done well. She was very welcoming and chatty in my fitting session. Would highly recommend! read more

Lien did an amazing job altering my wedding dress. She is very skilled and lovely to deal with.

After finally picking a wedding dress, David's Bridal had no availability to alter it even with my wedding being over four months away. Luckily I eventually found Lien's about a month and a half before my wedding. Over the month leading to the wedding, I had a fitting every week. Lein did a fabulous job altering my complicated wedding dress. The bustle was perfect and displayed my dress's intricate layering perfectly. What a talent! She even suggested to me to get taller shoes so that she wouldn't have to alter each layer, which saved hundreds of dollars and worked out perfectly. I could tell she definitely cared about me and how I would look. I recommend her to anyone! read more
