It saddens me I can't rate this awful company less than one star. We had scheduled a move with them on Sunday. They gave us a window of 10-12, and said we'd receive a heads up call a half hour before they were on the way. At 11:45, after not receiving a call, I called them. I spoke with Joel in the call center who said he'd find out what was going on, and get back to me in 10 minutes. A half hour later, I called again and spoke to Helen, who told me Joel went on his lunch break. I explained the situation to her, and she said she'd have Joel get back to me in 15 minutes. A half hour after that, with no call from Joel, I called Helen back. She had Troy, the Los Angeles Regional Manager call me. The first question he asked was if we had a confirmation. Not only were we confirmed, You Move Me had emailed us the day before to tell us they were adding a man to the job because of a piano we have. Troy promised to find out what was going on and get back to us in a few minutes. 45 minutes later, after getting no call back, I called Troy and got his voicemail. I left a message, and then called Helen back at the call center. She got hold of Troy, and he called back finally. Explaining that he was at Cedars Sinai Hospital with family and that's why he hadn't called back sooner, he had spoken with their operations guy who told him they had a driver quit, and that's what the problem was. He was going to try to put a crew together to move us, even if he had to come do it himself. When we got off the phone, I immediately scheduled another company to come move us on Monday- which they did professionally and quickly. Calling Troy to let him know, he apologized and said it never should've happened, yet made no offer to rectify or make the situation right. We had to be out Sunday because we had contractors coming to work on our house Monday. Not only did they have to push their schedule back a day, we have to pay their workers for the lost day. We also had to get an additional day on our airbnb, And of course, there's the additional charge of the other movers we had to hire, who were more expensive than You Move Me due to the last minute notice. Do not ever use You Move Me. Worst moving experience, or I should say non-moving experience ever. Brian Scudamore, founder and CEO, has a little introductory video on the You Move Me website, where he talks about the company being "a better way to move" and promising a "stress-free" moving experience. Neither is true. We tweeted him on Sunday to let him know what was going on. He didn't tweet back until the next day, saying he'd referred it to customer service. When customer service finally contacted us over two weeks later, they made a point of saying they were a franchise opportunity and there wasn't much they could do. Having worked with several franchisee businesses, I knew this to be a complete lie. After weeks of back and forth, leaving voicemail messages and not getting calls returned, they contacted me and asked what I wanted. I told them I wanted compensation for the extra I had to pay the movers I called that actually did show up, the additional airbnb night I had to pay for as a result of their not showing up and reimbursement for the crew I had to pay for that was booked for the next day but had to be pushed back. As you can guess, I'm still waiting. But I'm not holding my breath. read more

This moving company was recommended by my friend Paul Houghton. I couldn't be happier with the service. Richard, Stephone, and Jesus were all extremely careful with my stuff and very aware that every minute counts. They were very funny and you can tell they had fun at work. I hate moving but they really made it very easy for me. The price was a bit more than I had paid before but the service was much better than the other services I have used so next time I move I will use this company. Just to give you an idea, I moved from downtown LA to Irvine, It was just me and my stuff so somewhere around 5 boxes and 5 pieces of big furniture. It cost me 800 dollars and it was done from 9:30 am to 11:30. Thanks guys. Update for my next next move in 2018. After I had to move again I decide to call you move me first and it was super last minute but they found some guys free the very next day. Doug and Mike came and helped me move my stuff and t was a great experience like the last time. I felt bad because they had to carry some pretty heavy furniture up some stairs but they did it like nothing and they were very cool about everything. Again it was a great experience so that's two for two for me. I'll probably use this company for all my moves, but I really hope I don't have to move in a very long time. For cost references it was basically the furniture of a one bedroom apartment, and this time I moved to a really close bigger apartment. It took us about 3-4 hours and it cost me around 530 I think. After a horrifying experience moving cross country 2 years ago, we were weary of hiring movers again. However we were pleasantly surprised by Chris and his partners' jovial and yet professional demeanor. We hired them to pack up our 2 bedroom apt home into a purchased moving truck. We were looking for someone who could strategically pack our truck so as to not drive 5 days and 2600 miles cross country (again) and find our belongings tossed about or damaged once we arrived at our destination. They executed this perfectly and efficiently and I could not be more grateful. They fit everything in like puzzle pieces that withstood 5 hard days of travel in a 16 foot truck. This company was a huge fail. I called nearly 3 weeks before I was planning to move and made an appointment for the Saturday to have someone come look at our stuff and provide an estimate. First, they said someone would be at our place between 10-12. That's fine, but it would be nice if you could let me know the night before or the morning of whether they'll be closer to 10am or 12 so I'm not just sitting around waiting. But I heard nothing. Around 11am, I called to get a sense of what was going on and learned that they had screwed up and I wasn't scheduled at all. Weird since I had received an email confirmation and was specifically told that Drew Boyles would be our guy that day. At that point, Chris (the person I spoke to) made some calls and got someone over to me, but that person didn't show up until 12:15. When I asked the person who showed up what happened (because I now had concerns about hiring them since what if they didn't show up on move day?), the guy just lied to me and said no one told him that he was supposed to try and come early. Given that he showed up after the window I was given, I asked him what time he was told to show up at which point he became very non-responsive. But he assured me that there would be no such problems on move day. We then showed him our stuff, but he was having problems with his software or something so couldn't really take notes. We told him to take his time because we wanted him to be able to provide a fair and accurate estimate since it would include a not-to-exceed cost. But he said it was fine and he would remember. When he was done, he said we would have the estimate that night. He was clearly trying to compensate for what had already happened that day. My husband and I told him that we didn't need it that night, but would like to have it by Monday evening since we were expecting another estimate by Monday (from Chipman Relocations). On Monday, we hadn't received the estimate so I followed-up with a call. The person I spoke to said he didn't see anything in his computer system. He called Chris (who I had spoken to on Saturday) and Chris said he hadn't received it yet from the guy who had come on Saturday, but that he would get it and we would have the estimate in an hour. NOTHING EVER CAME. Seriously, they never sent me an estimate at all. So, we obviously didn't hire them. And obviously we weren't pleased about having three hours wasted on a Saturday. We ended up going with Chipman Relocations. I can't tell you how great they were. The person who came out for the estimate called the night before to confirm the time (it was a 30-minute window) and called the day of to say she would be coming at the end of that window. She obviously knew her stuff because she could look at our house and quickly say that she thought we would have about 80 boxes (we hadn't started packing, but she was pretty darn close in her count). We had the estimate when she said we would. The not-to-exceed price was very reasonable at 7.5 hours for 4 guys, although it actually ended up taking a little longer. In short, this company made our decision easy as to who we should hire. So I guess I can thank them for that. read more

You Move Me exceeded my expectations. My move date was 1 day prior to Thanksgiving from 4 pm to 6 pm, Chris and his new employee arrived ahead of schedule and completed the pickup and drop off within 1 hour and for only $150 + tip. Also, I made the reservation only 1 week earlier and getting booked was a breeze by phone. Chris did initally freak me out with a last minute onsite quote move time/price of 3 hours and about $500 but with some pep in his step, they were done lickety split and obviously well below the quote price. There is only a 1 hour minimum so if you're using them for a small move, verify that the 1 hour policy is still in effect. Chris stated that You Move Me may soon have a 2 hour minimum. Chris is pretty tall so he may need some warning if ceiling heights aren't very high...he bumps his head alot. read more

Just finished up with You Move Me with a 2 day process with packing,delivery, and unpacking. I truly have to say they were the best moving company we ever used to move. The guys that help move me we're Cody & Jim they were very helpful, easy going guys that definitely made moving for me a lot easier. Even when there was a miscommunication and I forgot to tell them to grab my fridge from my old house, they had no problem going from Costa Mesa back to Newport Beach to grab it for me. What an awful franchisee and franchise owner Troy is. O2E needs to revoke his franchise license immediately before he destroys their brand value in LA. My moving experience yesterday was the most horrendous customer service encounter of my life. So let me show you why: We are booked and confirmed for an 8-10am window. No one call or shows up so at 10 we call them. The lady on the phone confirms we are booked but literally cannot get ahold of "anyone" and can't tell us if or even when we will get movers. After a few back and forths we are told that the movers screwed up and already started their second stop, a move to San Diego. This is a complete lie as we find or later. Troy the owner gets on the phone and tries to keep our business. Troy promises he will get us movers immediately maybe even a discount and call us back. Troy lied. He never called back he started texting us. The owner is now texting us Bc that's highly professional. Troy takes 2 of his junk haulers and begs them to handle us in the afternoon. These poor guys work 1 job a day on Saturday now they have to do our job tired and not quite so happy to be working 2nd job but they at least called us and showed up and did a great job. Troy is the real problem here. The movers scramble and get a rental truck but Bc they weren't supposed to be moving people they didn't have all the moving materials when they arrive. They show up and officially start at 2:30pm 4 and a half hours late. Our move had a 2nd stop at a storage facility but Bc of the late start it closed and we couldn't do half the move. Now it's 6:30-7 and the move is done. Because the movers scrambled and weren't supposed to be doing our move they didn't have the standard iPad to book our contract and can't complete the contract without calling in to the office. Another horrible issue. Before we sign we want the discount Troy promised us so we text him back and get no reply Bc he's off on weekends. Bad idea Troy. Troy of course doesn't text back so the mover calls his personal line so we can talk on phone finally. ok Troy what discount will we get for this? 10%. Wait what? Ok another $50 off. Troy what about the fact that half of our scheduled move couldn't be completed? Oh well we can do that tomorrow for you if you want Troy says. And what would be the discount for that move ? Zero Bc that's what you would have paid if we had done it today. Troy are you this bad a manager? Today we just paid w a discount and $50 off (which is a pathetic considering the inconvenience) due to your negligence. Why would we pay full price on day two Bc you failed Troy? Well Troy didn't seem to care or have an answer to that. In the end we find out the operations manager quit Friday Bc he doesn't like Troy like us either and that was probably the cause of our missed booking. Don't use this service until Troy is no longer the owner. Troy - we are writing to O2E as well. You shouldn't own any franchise on earth as far as I am concerned. You couldn't have cared less that your company on your watch completely forgot about us on a crucial day. read more

I'm a mom of 2 kids and a husband, and we lived there for ten years (so lots of stuff). We're demolshing a large part of our house for a remodel, and moving into a smaller place temporarily. We needed some furniture moved in our home, too heavy for me to move. I contacted You Move Me and was called to confirm a couple days ahead and the morning of the appointment. Movers showed up, wearing uniforms (green shirts), were courteous, friendly and professional. We had just painted the interior of our home and they were very careful not to ding any walls and did a great job asking what and where I needed the items moved. As a single widowed mother of five young children, I had found myself in the position of having to move to a bigger home. I looked and looked everywhere to find the right moving company. I tried all the "big boys." I had visits and estimates from all the players. One day I happen to be in Brentwood and noticed a moving truck. I called the number of You Move Me. First of all The customer service of the person answering the phone was unsurpassed. Very professional and polite, better than the "big boys" that I had talked to. When it came time for the estimate they were on time, as a busy single mother time was important to me. The estimator that visited was unbelievably knowledgeable and very courteous to the point that he interacted with my children when they were interrupting. Never once losing patience, as had happen with another estimator. Then came the day of the big move. I had a window of 8-9 to be at the move site from where I had purchased my furniture. You Move Me beat me there, and i have penchant for being on time. At my new home the movers were so careful with moving my furniture. I was so impressed as it was fine italian furniture and very expensive. They wore clean shirts tucked, clean shaven and very helpful helping me with putting the furniture in the right places. As i did not see the actual packing, I noticed that every piece of furniture and electronics was wrapped as not to cause any damage. I have not yet mentioned the pricing, let's just say if this was a football game, You Move Me won by a landslide. I cannot say enough about the professionalism and demeanor of the whole staff at You Move Me, right down to the owner Mr. Drew Broyles. Thank you, You Move Me for everything you did for me. But fortunately I had a great set of guys helping me process & pack my life up after 7 years in the same place and they got me on my way.
