Love this place--my new favorite restaurant! Such good, authentic Sichuan food! No reservations but you can order for pick-up or put your party on a waitlist when you arrive. The restaurant is small so I would suggest getting there early to get on the waitlist. I like to check out the local supermarkets or getting boba while I wait. There are many spicy dishes, cold dishes as well as warm soups. Can't go wrong here! My favorites were actually cold appetizers--Pork Belly w/ Fresh Garlic Sauce (it actually also has noodles included underneath) and Beef Shank, Tripe & Tendon In Chili Sauce (has peanuts). They were so flavorful and cooling! Third time coming. First two times were solid. Can recommend the veggie and beef hand pulled noodles. Came during lunch, so it wasn't too busy. Third time was a bit weird, but ok. I was excited to share with a few friends - but their experiences weren't the best. They sat a table in front of us even though we were first in queue and had been waiting 30 minutes while they just walked in. We ordered a mix of dishes, including a few classics, which I don't recommend. A vegetarian friend was excited to try general tso's tofu since he's never seen it before. It was not good at all. Soooooo sweet and they definitely used their orange sauce. None of us could have more than one bite. My other friend ordered spicy beef lo mein and it came out 40 minutes after ordering. There were 5 tables after us who all received their dishes before he did. And it was very light on the beef and rather dry. I'll probably come back for the hand pulled noodles for lunch, but don't recommend coming during dinner service. read more

The vermicelli shrimp noodles was some of the best vermicelli I've had in Chicago. The wontons and chili oil was my next favorite. Next was the beef bray braised hand pull noodle soup, I think next time I would try the spicy because the flavor was a little too sweet for me but the noodles were so good! We liked the duck but it was very boney which we were not expecting. I will say the vibe was a little hectic because they were so busy. It is a smaller restaurant so definitely go earlier than later. OMG this place is amazing!! YooYee is officially my new obsession. I've been here like 4 times already and every single time it's been incredible. The menu is HUGE with tons of Szechuan options and everything is so flavorful! The Spicy Beef Brisket Hand Pulled Noodle Soup is seriously the best I've had in Chicago - and trust me, I've tried a lot of places. They actually give you a massive portion with lots of noodles instead of being stingy like other spots. But honestly everything here is fire. The pork belly appetizer was unreal - best I've ever had, period. The cucumber salad and eggplant were so fresh and packed with flavor. And the sweet skinned duck?? SO good I'm still thinking about it. Plus, the scallion pancake was perfect. I love that I can keep trying new things from their menu and nothing disappoints. The quality is super consistent and you can tell they actually care about the food they're serving. If you haven't been to YooYee yet, what are you waiting for?! We were so impressed by two of their dishes: one is the pork ribs and the other one is the garlic shrimp. These two dishes are probably the best sold and regarded as authentic among my Chinese friends. Service was great and inside was clean, but the seats are pretty limited, especially during rushing hours. Finally some competition for the crown of Szechuan food in Chicago. The wontons in chili oil were a top 5 wontons ever for me. Kung Pao chicken was great and Dan Dan Noodles were pretty good as well. Amazing new schezuan place in northern Chicago. Star dish was definitely the veg hand pulled noodles and ask for spicy, the broth is the perfect balance of heat and tingle. WOW was this place disappointing! Horrible food! How can you mess up fried pot stickers? They were burnt and chewy and the sauce was odd. I also had the garlic short ribs which were dry. Lao Sze Chuan and down the block and greenleaf on western are 10 time better quality. read more
