You know, I really dislike giving a poor review...buuuuut here goes. Shall we begin with the positives? This section will be brief. Positives: -They offer sushi delivery (which should have been a red flag). -The prices were very reasonable -The delivery came in a very timely manner Now that, that's complete let us take a closer look at the actual food. We ordered 3 rolls of sushi and a 'crispy' duck salad. One common thread that runs through all great sushi is the quality of the roll itself. A tightly rolled sushi that can hold up to a fumbly, inept chop stick wannabe. These rolls, not so much. They collapsed quicker than a sandcastle at high tide. We had to resort to using our fingers to clamp them together! Oh, the humanity!! The flavors were average. The seafood middle of the road. In a coastal region this is simply unacceptable. I rarely order duck, but the thought of a textural profile of crunchy duck paired with fresh greens had my mouth watering. Yikes, what a fail! What I actually received was wilted lettuce with a few pieces of fried batter! To top it off, the whole lot was smothered in a horrific mayo hybrid dressing that was overwhelming. Don't know what the hype is about... Had the sashimi salad... it was probably one of the most "kiddy" sashimi salads I've ever had. The fish pieces were cut up like diced tomatoes. And it was very fishy. Sashimi salads don't tend to taste fishy if you've tried them at good places. The sashimi appetizer left much to be desired as well. I think it comes with "8" pieces of assorted fish. This means 2 each of 3 fishes, 1 being very gross which had to be spat out because it was almost like eating bad fish, and the 4th is Tamagoyaki aka grilled egg... REALLY?! I just ordered delivery from Door Dash. Yoo Sushi confirmed my order. I waited 65 minutes and then I got a notification from the restaurant that they could not fulfill my order and they cancelled it. I would have been fine with that if they hadn't kept me waiting for 65 minutes. I've never eaten at Yoo Sushi or gotten food delivered from there. This was going to be my first time. Too bad. First timer! I went with delivery..they gave me a 30 min. time window for over 9 items on the menu and they came in 20 minutes. Menu is perfectly priced/more than reasonable. I'll honestly never get sushi from anywhere else in Providence - they rip you off. More than 5$ for a Cali roll (not that I consider that a 'sushi' roll) or Ginger salad is BS. Here it is 3.95$ for the roll and 2.50$ for the salad!!! On top of that the rolls had huge pieces of fish, avocado, cucumber, and cream cheese..pretty much the plumpest sushi I have ever ordered! **If you spend 30$, you get your choice of one of two rolls or some other thing? Sweet potato sushi....Holy cow! Their mozzarella sticks (a new trend with Asian cuisine establishments around here??) and Thai spring rolls have spicy sauce to accompany them which makes them all the more enjoyable. I am not a fan of sushi but I have come back repeatedly, as have my coworkers, for the aforementioned sweet potato sushi. If you order the thai tea "with bubbles" in the description for delivery DON'T expect for there to be bubbles. I was super upset because that was the only reason I ordered the drink. I also had the beef teriyaki which was a different experience because I was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. Theres also a good amount of beef so that its shareable if you so desire. Scallion pancakes: The pancakes themselves don't have much flavor but the curry completely makes up for it. I do wish there was more of the curry however I guess because the pancakes don't really soak it up, its manageable. Would it be something that I would necessarily order over and over? No, but I would at least try it. Sashimi: The issue I had was that I had ordered for delivery and three different types of sashimi. If you want to be swindled out if your money then I recommend eating here. After receiving a late delivery I didn't receiver my full order after giving a 20% tip. I called and asked to speak to the manager because my service was pretty poor up to this point. After being on the phone with the manager for 10 minutes they hung up on me saying that they did deliver the full order even though half of it was missing. I ordered the seaweed salad and the cabbage soup (forgot the exact name) for delivery; additionally, I had a few bites of a coworker's pad Thai. The seaweed salad was fine - though not the best I've ever had. The cabbage soup wasn't very flavorful, and the pad Thai noodles were oddly sweet (and a bizarre orange color). I order from here all the time- they are reliable and the food is great! I recommend sticking to delivery/pick up from them- the restaurant itself is pretty small, and the owner doesn't turn on the heat because it's rare that people eat in the restaurant itself, which makes for a very cold and awkward meal (if you do eat there, I recommend purchasing a bottled drink- there was some questionable stuff floating in our water glasses). This place is great. It's a quiet little place on the corner next to a convenience store. The fish is very fresh, the waitress was very helpful and when asked a question she didn't know came back seconds later with a smile and the correct answer. The calamari salad was spectacular. I love the extra skill of plate design with the different sauces, just makes everything tHat much more eye appealing. I really like this place. If you are in the mind for some delicious cuisine, but don't feel like leaving your house, you definitely have to try out Yoo Sushi! Everytime I come here I feel like it gets better and better. First off, I usually get the Sushi Deluxe and I thoroughly enjoy the variation I receive each and every time. I mean there are always going to be your salmon and tuna pieces but they like to spice it up with pieces you'd usually never get. Last time I ordered I got the Duck Salad and let me tell you, this is really fucken good. End of story, now I have to always get it. Also the BBQ Squid was really good. I would always order and be like Oh I'll get it next time, oh next time, but when I finally ordered it, I wasn't disappointed. Flavors were awesome! One time I ordered the Unagi Don where on arrival I was surprised to see their treatment of eel. Superb! I've had some really good eel plates in my day, and this was comparable! Not the thickest slices but treated very well! Avocado Salad! If you like avocado, just get it. The reason behind 4 and not 5 stars is their soup. Half the time it's really well done, and the other half it's just ok, but still good. I just wish that they would have a consistently delicious soup selection, because if they did, I would live here! Overall if I'm in the mood for sushi at home, hands down Yoo Sushi is where I go. It's the best around and I doubt you'll be disappointed. My husband and I were looking for a good sushi place while we were in town for work - one with good sushi, appetizers and a full non-sushi meal for the husband. This place satisfied us both! The shrimp and vegetable tempura app was great, he ordered a mango chicken dish, which he ravaged, and I was more than content with my shrimp tempura and California rolls. The texture and subtle flavor of fresh sushi is wonderful. Paired with perfectly prepared rice at the right temperature along with real wasabi and some quality soy sauce, it's a real treat for the palate. Now Yoo sushi doesn't exactly serve up top quality sushi but I gave it four stars because it fits my needs for fast food sushi and Japanese fare. Honestly I eat mostly the cooked stuff here and it's their bento box that is a big seller for me at lunch time which is crunch time and even though they offer delivery, I always pop in since it's in my hood. They are always friendly and serve up the food in a timely manner. Prices are also reasonable. If you are expecting a O Ya experience with a omakase menu then you will be sorely disappointed. Ok, we've eaten here a lot, ALL DELIVERY, and for the most part the service is good and so is the food. The sushi has always been good, whether it's sushi or a roll have been really good. Even the cooked food has been good including the calamari and katsu. Why three stars then? The chicken wings were HORRIBLE. I don't mean they were seasoned bad I mean they were rotten. I opened the container and all I smelled was farts, poop, really bad stink. I thought it might be the seasoning and took a bite anyway and NOPE, these were bad. We just threw them out and hoped I wouldn't get sick from that bite. We'll order here again but we'll stick to the sushi. read more

Favorite sushi for delivery! My SO and I have ordered from here multiple times, I had been disappointed the last couple times because I ordered a chicken tempura roll and both times it was forgotten. A few months ago my boyfriend left a note asking to please not forget it, "my wife is pregnant and will kill me!". This review is for dinner delivery. I ordered a Philadelphia sushi roll, coconut shrimp, and a cheesecake. The Philly roll was well put together and mediocre compared to my many experiences trying out the same style roll at other restaurants. I loved the texture of the shrimp and it traveled well for delivery. I went crazy for the white dipping sauce that came with the shrimp. As for the cheesecake, it was magical and perfect besides the melted whipped cream topping that unfortunately moisturized the fried outer layer. Overall, I would recommend for a delivery, just be sure to ask no whipped cream or have it on the side for the tempura cheesecake. read more

After going to the same sushi spot once a week for a year it's always good to try something different. Decided to try yoo based on yelps good reviews. I'm very picky on sushi and wasn't sure if it was going to be "real sushi" or the Americanized type. I however was extremely impressed and went back for a second time this evening. My boyfriend and I had an even better experience than the first. They even gave edamame on the house. The angel roll and super lobster rolls are amazing. I can't even help it. The sushi at Yoo Sushi was fresh... but mediocre at best. The nime chow not quite nime chow and it came with a thick, red, spicy dipping sauce. The only saving grace were the crab rangoons, but were served with a yogurt sauce instead of duck sauce. My friend and I just walked into the restaurant to grab lunch to go. We were pleasantly greeted and placed our order with the hostess. I had ordered the sushi lunch special and substituted the California Roll for the Spicy Crunchy Tuna roll. 10 minutes later our meals come out. The meal was incredible. Shrimp shumai, had them steamed, were tasty. I liked my shrimp tempura role but there was too much cucumber for me.
