Breakfast Burrito (no modifications)
Bella S.

Small, casual spot with a laid-back vibe. I do wish they offered more coffee and latte options, though. My caramel latte was fine but lacked a little flavor and pizazz, and I would've loved it in a real mug instead of a to-go cup for dining in. The food, however, was delicious. Their biscuits are giant and perfectly fluffy, topped with great gravy and served with well-seasoned potatoes. My breakfast burrito had all the that good stuff and came with a jalapeño ranch to top it off. Service was pretty quick. Our food actually came out before our coffee, but overall it's a solid choice for a quick, satisfying brunch. I also noticed a back room where they were advertising and decorating cakes, which definitely caught my eye. I'll have to come back to try one next time.

Baked Oatmeal

I think I made the wrong menu choice and consequently suffered from food envy. Ha. I was trying to go a slightly healthier route and chose baked oatmeal. It was good but my friend's biscuit sandwich looked better. The oatmeal had a baked apple slice on top which was good but could have been better with 2-3 slices. A small side of yogurt is served with it and it really added to the flavor. You order at the counter and then they call your name when food is ready. I didn't have to wait very long for my order.

This review is long over due for me, Yolklore is one of my favorite breakfast spots around. I'm not sure I need to tell you how much I LOVE the breakfast burrito; you can tell how excited I am by the two bites taken before I remembered to snap a pic for my review. My first time trying this was around Covid, going through the drive thru and eating in the car with my girlfriend at the time (now wife). I have mostly ordered online and brought home, but they do have some self serve seating there if you want and can find a spot during busier times. I always have a hard time choosing anything other than the breakfast burrito, it is SO good and I could swim in the jalapeño ranch. But I've tried many different items including the breakfast sandwiches, continental breakfast, smash burger, countless weekend specials, and don't sleep on the gooey butter cake for dessert. I really have enjoyed everything I've tried. Orange juice is fresh squeezed and delicious. I don't get it all the time because it is a little expensive, but a delicious treat and a must for the first trip. Different coffee options are good and do the trick for what I want. I recommend following them on social media to see the different weekend specials and occasional collaborations with other local businesses for super tasty dishes. On second thought, be careful, because it always makes me hungry and crave a trip out to try everything they post. I've moved farther and farther away over the past 4-5 years but still make the trip for my top breakfast spot.

BYO Breakfast Sandwich scrambled egg, biscuit, cheddar, and bacon.

Create your own breakfast sandwich was amazing! I chose a biscuit with scrambled egg, cheddar and bacon. Yum! The bacon was excellent quality and the homemade biscuit was delicious. What a great breakfast spot. Order ahead on Uber Eats and pull through the drive thru! So convenient! Staff was friendly and my order was ready in about 8 minutes!

I had the classic breakfast carry out. 2eggs over easy w bacon and potatoes and a cheddar jalapeño biscuit. It was tasty. Service was a bit slow at the window and my food was cold when I got it. Yolklore is always a great choice for breakfast. Tiny dining room. Have never eaten in.

I needed a place to grab a quick bite and get a little work done. They offer dine in, take out, and drive thru. So many options to grab a great meal. The space is on the smaller side. There are several two and four top tables along with bar sitting. The bathrooms are immaculately clean. I stopped in at breakfast time. I placed my order at the counter and made my way to a table. There are several beverage options, but drip coffee was just what I was needing. My meal was made in quick order. I went with the breakfast burrito and was not disappointed in the least. Just a note: the burritos come premade, so no substitutions on this item. I was hesitant because the burrito contains turkey chorizo. Regular chorizo is too greasy for me, but the turkey version was light and flavorful. The burrito is grilled to perfection and served with a jalapeño ranch for dipping. The best part of this meal were the potatoes in the filling. They were soft and creamy and delicious. I added a little side of grapes for balance. Excellent meal and fantastic experience

Classic Breakfast

Had some hungover takeaway from yolklore and it was ust what the doctor ordered. I rolled with the classic breakfast which incuded eggs, potatoes, bacon, and a biscuit. The biscuit was awesome. Flaky, crispy, and dense. A little strawberry compote and butter made it the perfect side. Next: the bacon. I am a lover of thick cut bacon so yolklore passes this test. Juicy, thick, and scrumptious. The breakfast potatoes were good too. 2 mini potatoes griddled and salted. Simple. Well executed. We also shared the pancake dippers. I have no idea what was n those things, but they were awesome. There was a little bit of extra flavor on the back end that I could not pinpoint. Perhaps vanilla, or maybe they just had a strong buttermilk flavor. Either way, they were superb. I would love to go back and die in for sure. I solid breakfast with tons of great options!

Good was delicious. The place is cute and well decorated. Service is counter ordering. We got the classic breakfast, falafel salad, and a byo breakfast sandwich.

Smash burger with gluten free bun

Yolklore is my favorite place for breakfast in the STL area. Their food is so delicious. Debating if you should add on some breakfast potatoes? DO IT. They taste amazing. The staff are consistently kind and quick. The service moves so quickly that the seating turns over pretty fast, so it is easy to find a place to sit and eat, even when they are super busy. Don't let the look of the outside of the building deter you: it's super cute inside and you will be SO happy you started your day by eating here, I always am!

Our wait time ended up being roughly 2 hours long. By the time we got to the restaurant close to our expected time there were probably 20-30 people waiting outside. Our waiter was fantastic and did a great job of sharing his recommendations. I got the I'm the DD as my drink and chose the Bizzle & Grizzle for my meal. The loaded tots were delicious and so worth the upcharge. Would recommend trying the biscuits and gravy for sure. Overall, the portion sizes here are big and the food is great. If you dine in, definitely be sure to plan ahead & join the waitlist well in advance of when you want to be seated.

The restaurant is located on a quaint corner with a couple outdoor benches for waiting. We went for a busy Sunday morning brunch service. Staff was very proficient at getting diners in and we were very okay with the wait. The inside is very pleasant, a mix between a bar vibe and mom & pop diner vibe. Once we were seated is when our experience began to drift away. Our particular server greeted us fairly quickly, but after taking our drink order we waited for 15+ minutes for them to be brought out. Initially I gave the server some grace, assuming it was perhaps because they were busy. As our brunch continued it became apparent our particular server was either bad at her job or just didn't care and the initial wait for our drinks was pretty on par with the rest of this server's attentiveness to our visit. I will say the rest of the staff seemed amazing. The manager/owner(?) came and checked on us a couple times and seemed invested in our experience. The product itself was amazing. Great menu selections (food, drinks, boozy options, and the food and drinks themselves were outstanding. Fun environment. One of the TVs in our section was playing old GI Joe cartoons (right in my wheelhouse) while the other had sports programming on. My hope is the particular server we had was an outlier for this establishment, which is why despite her horrible service, I provided a rating. Our server brought our check out while we were still eating. My drink was empty and I intended on ordering another one but I wasn't asked. Despite this visit, I would certainly return and give the service a second chance.

We tried to come on a Saturday after visiting the Gateway Arch, heartbroken that they were CLOSED! No sign on the door, so we had to figure out a backup option. On Sunday, we tried again and because there was no number listed online, we took a chance and thank goodness they were open! It's a small diner with patio situation and we were informed there would be a wait which was fine with us. We were quickly sat at the (covered) patio on a gorgeous sunny day and enjoyed the views of people walking to see a game at Busch Stadium. Kelly was a wonderful server! Both the Bloody Mary and the Espresso Martini were excellent! The deviled eggs were a delicious appetizer. Hands down though, that biscuit breakfast sandwich was what breakfast dreams are made of! Kelly recommended the sausage which was rich and flavorful. The over-medium egg was perfection! Potatoes were well seasoned and mouthwatering. I'm going to be thinking of Fleur STL for many years to come and hope to visit again someday!

We were pleasantly surprised they weren't super busy, selfishly it was nice, but I hope it's not always like that because they deserve the hype. We sat at the bar and had great service the whole time. We started with a house made Bloody Mary (it had fantastic flavor) and an espresso martini (should we say the best in the city???). A piece of candied bacon came on the Bloody Mary and I'm still thinking about it. Then the food. I got a cheeseburger and fries and it was freaking fantastic. So juicy and tender, tons of flavor, one of the top burgers in St. Louis in my opinion. My husband got a special which was a braised beef Benedict and he was VERY happy. He likes a good burger and still said his meal was the best. They plate everything so beautifully, this is like a high class culinary experience in a (clean diner) with great prices. And the small menu is very preferred because it doesn't take you an hour to decide. And the fries - so fresh and crispy. This place deserves all the love. I was so impressed with it, it doesn't look like much from the outside but it is so worth it.

I feel like the people who work at Egg make friends easily. While I was there, I saw the servers heartily greet and hug many people. Egg might be one of those places where everyone knows your name. No one knew my name, though, and that was OK with me. I like my anonymity. I also like my coffee black, and they serve a good black coffee here. I was visiting Egg during the late morning, so I chose a dish that was kind of breakfast, but also not: the Chakchouka, which is a basically a shakshouka. It's eggs poached in tomato and pepper stew, with your choice of meat (I chose merguez, which is made of lamb). It was delicious, and came with toasted bread to sop up everything. The menu is short, which is exactly what I like to see. They have some breakfast items, like benedicts and hashes, and a short lunch menu with things like carne asada and a burger. It's a simple menu full of great food made with intention and attention to detail.

But here! The entire menu can be made vegetarian. So 5 stars for food. Everything that we had was ah-mazing. The proportions were just enough. You'll walk out satisfied but not full. Cute ambience- a cozy feel Description of food- I love how the menu identified common allergens. When we were seated, My daughter who is gluten intolerant, explained that she has a gluten allergy. She orders the Chakchouka that is listed as GF. It came out with slices of bread. We were not sure if the bread was gf. After about 10 minutes our waiter walked past us. We flagged him down and asked if the bread was gf and he looked at us like we had 10 eyes and said "no- absolutely not" and briskly walked away.... Well why would a server bring a child bread when they knew she was gluten intolerant? Which brings me to the service- We ordered 3 coffees. One hot with almond milk, one iced with oat milk and one hot with 1/2 and 1/2. The coffee came out and 2 "milks" were placed in front of us and our waiter moved on. We had to wait 5ish minutes before our waiter walked by again to ask what the milks were. He simply said - that one is 1/2 and 1/2 then walked away. Now I get it... if he was slammed... I'd understand why he was so short... but at the time we were in there there were 2 waiters and 4 tables. He was not slammed. We also didn't get the iced coffee until we flagged down a different waiter and he exchanged a hot coffee for an iced. The "other waiter" was on his game while I think ours was on hurting to get back on his phone.

Owners Mark and Leslie are very kind, attentive, and share a lot of history of the mansion and recommendations without being obtrusive. The mansion rooms are well appointed and I would highly recommend one of their food packages. We did chocolate and wine and both were amazing at a reasonable price considering the quality (which was good). Mark is a chef by trade (second career) and makes a darn good breakfast! There are complimentary snacks coffee and tea available 24/7. Location is great. The place has a bit of a dated feel and there are some repairs/upgrades needed here and there but keep in mind Dear Traveler: this couple has only owned the place for 15 months so I'm confident minor facelifts are coming. Only VERY minor complaint, and it's only from personal taste: food although delicious is a bit carb-heavy. This is no fault of the owners and they give you plenty of opportunity prior to your stay to mention any diet preferences, which I failed to do. So no knock on FdL at all. If in St. Louis visiting or need a nice staycation check this place out!! FYI they do a great job with COVID compliance, too

The Fleur-de-Lys is the epitome of a luxurious getaway. Whether it is the quaintly appointed guest…read morerooms or the delightful library and parlor, each area of this former residence is unique and meticulously maintained. While it is not likely the norm, the owners, Mark & Leslie, met us at the front door, quite literally inviting us into their establishment. It was simply the most welcoming manner in which to be introduced to this treasure and Leslie quickly engaged us with the history of the home and how she and Mark had recently become the owners. We chose this destination based upon the significance of the Fleur-de-lis to my love, a native New Orleanian. Given St. Louis' rich French heritage, the mansion was originally outfitted with four chimneys that feature the fleur-de-lis design and the pattern is repeated throughout the home. While we enjoyed a quiet morning coffee in the back of the property, a lovely shaded patio area, she noticed how many places the symbol was present. She actually made mention to Mark & Leslie that they could make an activity out of counting/finding all of the fleur-de-lis around the home. What a fun idea! We were fortunate enough to book the Tower Grove Park room, a spacious room fitted with a king-size bed and a two-person jacuzzi tub. There is even a 'fainting couch' for that extra French touch! The bed was amazingly comfortable and the decor and accoutrements were exceptional, right down to the pocket doors and writing desk. But a B&B is set apart by the fare served in the morning, and this is where Mark, a chef by trade, and Leslie, a self-taught baker, knock it out of the park. That morning's menu included a fruit starter, fresh juice, Leslie's home-baked sourdough toast and home-baked English muffins, and Mark's egg and sausage soufflés with country potatoes. The entire breakfast had us completely over the moon! We felt so at home that we wanted to clear our own place - so we did! The rates are competitive and well worth every moment spent here. There is parking behind the property, as well as across from the property, and each guest is allowed a unique security code so as to gain entry while you are enjoying your stay. I can't say enough about how much we enjoyed this getaway, and Mark, Leslie, & assistant Sammy made us feel like family from the moment we crossed the threshold. We'll be back - and you should give Fleur-de-Lys a try!
