This is the best dim sum option in Tucson. While some may miss Gee's Garden which closed around 2020, this place is better. Unfortunately we don't create enough traffic to allow for push carts of dim sum like larger cities. I had some friends come out who were new to Sushi Lounge. They loved their dishes too. A friend got the sushi because of some dietary restrictions. They were super accommodating for our vegetarian friend. We were the only table that didn't have at least one Chinese person, which is a good indication of the cuisine. The service is good for the most part, but order a head of time if you're in a hurry. Good food isn't always fast. The place is a family owned spot not in the nicest part of town. It's seen better days and is across from the Rodeo grounds. Definitely check them out if you're looking for dim sum.

The menu appetizers include gyoza, edamame, but they also serve Mexican torito--which is a chili pepper stuffed with cream cheese & shrimp then deep fried. I was really looking forward to it but unfortunately the ones I got served were still frozen inside. Unfortunate as the outside coating was perfectly fried and not too oily but I guess that's why it didn't really get cooked the whole way. Now, you'd think I would've left after the not-so-great apps, but def had to stay for the entrees. What's great about this place is really their donburi bowls, specifically, the unagi donburi bowl. Has just enough unagi, maybe a little too much rice but never the less, a really great sauce to tie it together. They've got a slew of fried sushi rolls but I've never really been a fan of those. They also have "teppan" meals which are dishes with your choice of protein served with rice on the side. They also do have nigiri and baked rolls as well. Inside the restaurant, I really liked the fake grass wall with their sign on it and the server was very nice. I would have given them a higher rating but the uncooked torito kinda did turn me off. Definitely would still go to this place and/or order delivery as long as it's the teri/sushi type dishes not the torito. Overall, Terisushi is one of the better Mexican sushi places in town.

Wasn't busy at all so we were seated and able to order quite quickly. We ordered the caterpillar and especial rolls. Each came with miso soup. Their three TVs in close proximity kept us entertained while we waited. Our server was also attentive of us. Everything was delicious. I liked how they had the extra sides on the plates that I wouldn't see at other traditional sushi restaurants; scallions, jalapeños, and krab. The especial pieces were about 2.5 times the size of normal rolls as well. Definitely recommend this place.

Cons- I think the menu could be reorganized to be easier to follow for new customers. Also I think the food should be displayed so customers can see the type of meat they're ordering. The server was nice and showed us the food by lifting each lid, but I think it'd be better to display everything for ease. Additionally they seem pretty stingy when it comes to meat. Meat portions are disappointingly small! Almost the entire bowl is rice and clear noodles with vegetables. Overall great concept and decent experience.

The roles are not properly constructed and fell apart. If I wanted that, I should have just made them at home because that's how mine always turn out too. The nori was also cheap quality nori and terrible to bite through. To add on, the miso soup didn't have enough miso paste causing it to taste watered down and gross. Again, I've made this mistake at home too, but that's not what you're paying for. Oh, and I was wondering if the low sodium soy sauce was actually just the regular Kikkoman soy sauce just in the green bottle. I hate to pay higher prices than the quality of food dictates. I would rather be fancy by going to a quality place in another city/country than to go to a place that looks good but tastes mid. The waitress was nice and the fish were well taken care of. There is that going for the place.

She made sure to keep checking in and keeping us ordering more and more food. We asked what items she liked the most, and she was spot on for all her recommendations. We stayed I think 3 hours and just took our time trying different food items and the only one that needs work is the tempura it was undercooked and not crispy enough. My favorite item was the fried fish, and my cocktail the Pineapple Express. I had read a some reviews before going and we did hear they had a lot of bad reviews from previous staff. The restaurant has definitely turned around from what you've read, so if you had a bad first impression I would recommend going back and trying them again. The one thing I do want to throw out there is the lack of bartenders that's my only call out. My mom wanted an old fashioned and the guy who made it was a bar back and had no experience making drinks. So once you fix that then I think you'll be killing it. So until that happens my rating will be 4 stars, so that way there's a chance for improvement. Next time I'm visiting I will be coming back and hopefully Cassandra is still working, she's one of your best workers.
